My first appointment is Jan 10, 2011. Right now my decision is whether to go lapband or sleeve. I'm about 95% towards sleeve. But excited to being doing something positive and proactive in my life.

Got the word ... my surgery date will be January 10, 2011

That will make my total time from first orientation to surgery 8 months.

Woohoo..... its almost time!!! Do you know I havnt eaten for 10 days?? lol Only fluids including my 3 day pre op diet, but I no longer crave food, its amazing, and finally today I found clear protien ... I looked all over Calgary lol but things are fantastc!! And Im down 13.2 now lol havnt updated my ticker yet lol I cant wait til youre on this side!!

Hi Friends, I've hit the 30 pound mark and ready to tackle another 10 pounds! I'm getting used to my new tummy and finding that some food sounds good one day and then horrible the next. I'm focusing only on 10 pounds at a time because that helps me mentally. I've been exercising but some days I am really tired afterwards instead of energized. I'm literally never hungry, so eating can really be a chore. Did I just say that? How is everyone doing?

OK you're right! LOL! Since I've been off work (since 8/27/10) I get my days all mixed up LOL!

The smallest I've been as an adult was a 10 ...THAT WOULD BE AMAZING! I will cry my eyes out if that happens

I'm doing great! I can easily meet my protein and liquids and I'm down 35 lbs. 10 was pre-op. I'm going back to work today. wish I had another week off I was weepy too! I was watching the show Ruby my second day home and cried like a baby, it was so weird, but it all gets better. The hardest part for me so far is learning my new tummy and watching other people eat. I have no regrets though. I hope the rest of your recovery goes well, you'll feel like yourself in no time.

Hi Susan, I am scheduled to have surgery in on August 19, my question is how soon will I feel like returning to work. I work at a state jail in the commissary department(grocery store). I have inmates to help me lift everything so I won't be lifting items, but will I actually feel like returning to work five days after surgery????

Hi Latoya! I have pre op at Harbor City Kaiser with Dr. Zane on 8/18/10 at 11 am and then with an RN at 12:15pm-did you have 2 appts for your pre-op? Did they put you on a special diet? Please give me the 411 if you can. I just want to know what to expect. Thanks SO much :-)

How are you doing? I am down 10 pounds and starting to get happy about this whole thing. Have you weighed yet?? How much fluids are you getting?? I don't know if I am doing too good with the fluids.

just wanted to check in and see how your progress is going? i am 10 days out and finally starting to feel better, had a real tough week. Still have trouble getting my protein, i am just doing the best i can do.

Week 10: Down 41lbs and 35% to goal

im feeling very nervous as my date approach 7/19/11 will be here soon. im wondering will i be able to over come my fear and just keep my eyes on the prize. looking for alittle encouragement.

Haven't been this weight since I was 19.

So today I am exactly 10 days post-op. I'm am doing much better. I've notice that I'm able to tolerate water better with Crystal light Lemonade. I've also noticed that I definitely need to eat every 3 hours or I get weak. Its crazy but write now the only thing I can think about is eating a nice salad. LOL. I know silly right. When I could have all the salad I wanted I didn't want'em. Life!
