pdubbaya23 replied to OneManWolfpack's topic in The Guys’ Room
Honestly Dude Im going to put it like this. I haven't told my friends yet either. not becasue of what they would say but I just haven't. but when time comes for me to tell them, Im going to put it all on the table and you know what I have to back it up with? I am 4 months post op. I feel better than I have in at least 20 Years. I have dropped 4 maybe 5 pant sizes. the sex is better than has been in my 11 years of marriage. Im like a porn start dude and my wife can't get enough of it, son. and the morning wood is something serious. your woman will wake up to a sweet surprise. So let your friends throw insults, in a few months, you'll be throwing something else.....Im done. TMI? I don't care cause its real. -
Any December '08 Bandsters?
ninner replied to Florida Pete's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Great to see everyone doing good. I'm 14 days out and totally pain free. I haven't lost a pound in 3 days though and it's a little discouraging, I know this should not be a weight loss time it should be a "healing" time but at less than 1000 calories a day and 30 min a day on the treadmill I'd like to be loosing a little. On the other hand I'm able to do things I haven't been able to do in a year or more. I buttoned my under the belly pants in place YEAA!! And I peed through my fly, Super YEAAA!!! Sorry if this is TMI but I'm damn proud of myself. Aside from the lack of weight loss I am still shrinking the belly is down 2 inches in the 3 days that I haven't lost any weight " not sure about the physics behind that".:tongue2: -
Help! I cheated today during post op...
IndioGirl55 replied to Susan70's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Susan you should be OK.. I chewed and spit out tostidos (i know tmi) that was my only slip and i did make soupy mash potatoes - my my doc gave your creamed soups to eat on the 1st 10 days - then on to puree food 10 days and soft 10 day then regular. Ask your dr if you can have healthy request cream of ck Soup - make with skim milk and add some Protein powder - you will be in heaven and you will be getting in your protein - tell him all this sweet stuff is just to much - it can't hurt to ask. Good Luck... -
My surgeon said V8 is a no-no, so I haven't had any. Yesterday was the first day I pooped since surgery, so it took 3 days! The poop was wierd too- kinda chalky and a mustard green. I too used to poop 1-2X/day, but I don't miss it...wiping the butt is such a pain. (TMI, yet?)

7 Highly Effective Habits after WLS?
SpecialK replied to starchile's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Okay, this might fall into the "TMI" category but here goes. Sliming - some of us describe having to spit out excess saliva because if we eat past our point of fullness, even our saliva has no room to go down and stay down when you swallow until your food begins passing from your upper stomach pouch to the rest of the stomach. This saliva like fluid doesn't have a vile odor or anything in my experience. 2. PB'ing - is the bringing up of food bits or chunks when your body is telling you that you ate past your point of fullness. The pressure sensation of being that full will cause you to want to expel some of the food to relieve the pressure. If you are careful to watch for the point to stop eating, you can avoid this in my experience 90% of the time. The other 10% is my own fault, ate one more bite to finish something off, etc. When I have brought that food back up to spit it out, it has not been down into my stomach where the acidic process has started to break down the food. So when you bring something up, it again doesn't have some terrible vile smell. I am one of those people in the past that smelling someone else who got sick could get me gagging too. So smell is a major factor here. Last, my worst experiences of either of the things above occurred when I thought that maybe taking some sips (tiny sips) of water might help the food go down better when I felt overfull. That was just the opposite - made it far worse to put liquid into the mix. If I am feeling alot of pressure, I usually just try to stay pretty quiet and calm and tough it out for 15 minutes. What I mean to say is I tried jumping up and walking around once when I was overfull to see if that would help jiggle the food to make it go down and that didn't help. -
I haven't checked in for 7 days, however I've been logging my exercise into MyFitnessPal. Last weekend I logged 10 miles of running/walking. This week I didn't make it to the track, but I got onto my elliptical every morning (except for Friday) for an hour--logging in 20 miles. This weekend I hit the road on a borrowed bike (How do you long distant bikers do it?!?! My lady parts and rear took a beating!!! Sorry for the TMI!) and I hit 13 miles. There was a lot of up hill riding...it was torture on my quads and hams, but I loved it and will be doing it again. I'm going shopping for a bike and I will definitely make sure to get one with a wider and better cushioned seat (so my under area won't feel so abused! LOL!). So, my total for this month is 63. I plan on getting another 5 in either at the track or on my elliptical, bringing it up to 68. Everyone is doing great! It is so awesome to see so many people on this thread. No matter your fitness level, keep it up and keep pushing yourselves! I look forward to reading your successes

11 Days Post Op And Regretting Decision.
Lissa replied to Chrissy Rios's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Chrissy, I get what you mean about not wanting to throw up. I absolutely hate to vomit, even when I know it will make me feel better. One of my good friends had GB back in the 90's and she had horrible reflux problems. She's be eating and fine for a couple of bites, then one tiny bite too many and she'd be running for the bathroom. I thought that was disgusting and my exact thought was "I'd rather be fat then getting sick all the time". It was one of my real worries about having the sleeve cause I sure didn't want to be sliming or getting sick all the time. I was sleeved Aug 30, 2011 and have never slimed. I really work hard to under eat my sleeve, take small bites and chew very well. I also have been sure that I take a tiny bite of a new (after sleeve) food and let it sit for a few minutes before I try any more. That's how I found out I can't do very spicy food yet. I have vomitted once and that happened recently. I went to Carraba's with friends and we all shared a couple of appetizers. I even ate a small piece of their bread with olive oil and spices, yum! Right before we left, I took a quick sip of my drink because my mouth was dry. By the time we got to the car, I had to find a bush and be sick. Luckily, only the drink and bread came up (sorry, TMI?), but I learned that I REALLY cannot drink immediately after eating, especially if it's carbs. Don't be afraid of food. Once you're back on solids, make sure you try something new at least every few days, even if it's only 1 or 2 bites. Be adventurous so that you don't end up in a rut of only drinking Protein shakes or eating Protein Bars. You had this surgery to improve your life, so take advantage of the opportunities it will open for you! I know that right now you feel bad and you're probably frustrated by not being able to eat much and have very little variety. It will get better. May I say that I think you are very brave to seek therapy for food issues! I think it's even braver to admit that you know you need help and are asking for it! I believe that most obese people could use some therapy to deal with our food issues, but I think it's especially important for WLS surgery patients to deal with those issues to prevent regain. I'm sure you'll talk to your therapist about your fears about being sick as well. I hope that the therapist is well-versed in bariatric issues and can give you some real help there! Good luck and please stick around so we can watch your journey to a new you!! -
Hi all, it's been a while scince I've posted anything here. The true is I hit a plateau. I wasn't losing or gaining. I even stopped going to the gym, which was a bad decision. I ended up gaining a few pounds over the holidays. At least it wasn't 10-15 like most holidays before. Anyway, I've had two fills since last posting. I am now at 5cc's and I finally feel like I have good restriction. It feels like the second or third week after surgery. It's great, yet I have PBed several times since my last fill this past Thurday. I'm not chewing my food properly and I am still trying to eat too much. When I feel full I still take another bit or two and of course, I start to slim or PB. Sorry - TMI. I hope this means I'm close to my sweet spot. I hoping to see some loss this week.

Fat Related Routines You Won't Miss
Califlower83 replied to The Candidate's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Wow there are so many things I can't wait to stop doing once I lose the weight. Sweating- I currently sweat profusely like all the time! A co worker of mine thinks it's cute to come over and wipe my sweaty face all the time, I feel so embarrassed every time! Being able to bend- I have to either open my legs wide or put my leg out to ben over and get something because my belly is in the way. Chair scoping- When I go anywhere I have to scan the room and decide which chair I think will hold me, be comfortable, and I'll be able to get out of with ease. Shopping at a store- I pretty much do all my shopping online because going to the store is a hassle. Not only because it's hard to feel good in clothes when you don't like your body, but also the sweating when trying on clothes. sleeping anywhere- I snore like a wild animal and I hate falling asleep in front of people because they always need to mention it as if I don't know I snore!! I'm always trying to stay awake on planes and car rides to avoid the embarrassment! Handicap bathrooms- This one makes me feel like an a**hole! I always go to the big stall so I can have enough room to maneuver for cleaning (tmi but true) I'm glad to see so many people saying the sweating problem stopped!! There is hope!! -
What have you gotten rid of since surgery?
Diamondgirl81 replied to Astrasmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
TMI moment coming... I suffer from Endometreosis and PCOS. Before I had my surgery, I had my period for 4 months straight and the time before that about 3 months!!! Since I had this surgery and lost a few pounds, i'm actually on a normal, monthly cycle. It likes a miracle every month :smile2: Best, Lauren -
WOW, I had an all food day yesterday. I was amazed everything went so well. I am taking it slow. With the head ache are you getting all the water. Yes, that's a dumb question, you probably are. I get head aches when I do not drink enough. I had a 37 pound loss but that is from first weigh in at Pre op to post op first visit. I am Happy. Ok BG what is TMI? Have a nice day. Kathy imaluckydog

So I had my vsg Tuesday the 17th..its been rough these past few days! Gas is killing me, I feel it all over my body it seems! Also, (maybe tmi), but my left butt cheek has been hurting sooo bad! I just felt of it to see if it feels bruised, but it actuallu feels numb. What in the world? I'm confused. Also, how long did it take for you to get hungry for anything? I came home yesterday, and I've been sleeping for the most part, but I am not hungry at all!! I've been sipping Water..but nothing else..just not hungry yet. Idk?

Falling into bad habits
Sharonisshrinking replied to Sharonisshrinking's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Oh, I found it! I'm not going to do that specifically but I gained a lot of insight from it. I am going to stick to my tight feeling proteins from now on and lay off the carbs. I guess in my mind I thought I was one of the lucky ones who could eat more. I'm realizing that just because I can, doesn't mean I should. I feel reassured, in kind of a sick way, that my pouch is working. I was a good girl at dinner and ate broiled tilapia. But, I ate it at the rate I was eating my wheat thins. Well, guess what! Sorry to give TMI, but I barfed in a ton of napkins. So, my pouch is still good. Just need to let it do its job without cheating around sliders. -
Well I was always told by my surgeon that lapband patients should never throw up and this question has come up many times on the forums what happens if you get a stomach virus. Well I haven't had one in about 2 decades so I was kind of hoping I wouldn't ever get one again. Well last night after dinner my stomach felt like crap. I only ate a small amount of pork but I took some prilosec and went to bed. Holy crap at 2 a.m. I woke up heaving up what I thought was all my internal organs and had massive amounts of diarrhea I know TMI. The good thing was the only thing that was coming up was gas so it was just horrible dry heaving. I was home alone because my husband was away and I knew I could not drive to the hospital with a bucket heaving as hard as I was. I figured I would take some compazine I had from my gallbladder surgery and I called my surgeon. He said drink water even if it comes back up because it will make the throwing up less violent and meet him at his office at 6.a.m. Well so much for the compazine because that wouldnt even stay down. My doctor met me at his office at 6a.m gave me a shot for the nausea because he is nice like that and sent me for a stat ct scan. By now I was only throwing up about every hour. My little band was fine thank God. He said at three years post op that it is probably well adhered to the stomach so it would take more than this to move it. Of course I have major swelling so he told me clear liquids for the rest of the week and through the weekend and not to try to put any food in there even if I am hungry. He gave me a shot for the nausea which thank God has gone away and told me to drink plenty of gator aid for now. He didn't think there was a need to remove the fluid, just resting the stomach would do fine he said. Well the one good thing about all this is I hate more then anything to throw up and I was thankful that nothing came up. So now ya know if you have a stomach virus the first thing to do is call your doctor to guide you. He is there for me no matter what. I dont feel embarrassed to call him and this time I needed him. I don't like going to the ER's for things like this because there are worse off people then me in there. So now if the other end stops I will be fine. Trying to eat some italian water ice slowly just to get some fluids in. So my hope is to not have a stomach virus for another 4 decades now lol.

Good luck to you all. I couldn't sleep last night. Went to bed at nine, back up at 11 for 2 hours then tried to sleep again. Finally asleep at about 3. My stomach is freaking out with all of this anxiety. Cramping, rumbling and not to mention what is coming out. Sorry, TMI. Cleaned my whole house this morning and my mom will be arriving within the hour. 2 more sleeps!

A TMI question but I don't anyone else to ask. Are either of you experiencing menstrual bleeding. I also have PCOS so I'm not sure if this is caused by the surgery it self or not. I haven't been able to take in all the Protein or Water. One shake is 30 grams protein but 20 oz of liquid. What do you have planned for protein intake ? I ordered injury protein Soup but it won't arrive until next week.

I know this is totally TMI, but I'm in some serious pain here. I'm 9 days post op....and it's been 10 days since my last bm. I was advised that constipation is normal, and to be expected, but this is getting out of control. I started a few mushies yesterday and today with no trouble, so it's definitely time for some action! Unlike while I was on the pre-op diet, I do at least feel the need to go now. But it's just not happening. I'm nauseated and am getting chills. I've tried apple juice, orange juice, applesauce, and even 2 doses of Milk of Magnesia, which was only used as a last resort this afternoon b/c I was told to avoid laxatives. NOTHING is working and I am to the point where I am hurting so badly, that I can't stand or sit. Does anyone have any suggestions? Going to the store isn't an option right now (3 kiddos), but the hubs gets off work at midnight, so he can make a dash if necessary. I'm ready to try anything!

so this may be a bit TMI but i have always suffered from hyperhidrosis which is basically over active sweating disorder. my main area being my feet. since surgery however,my feet are white, dry and peeling all over the bottoms. its very embarrassing. literally they feel like sandpaper. could this be a side effect of not getting enough fluids in? its not athlete's foot trust me.

Ex Lax, Miralax, Beneful, Metamucil, Senesomething, Activia, or what?
amylynns replied to Yasman's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I had the same problem after I had the lapband, back in 2008. (I had the band removed in Dec. 2013) I don't know how you do swallowing capsules, but I swear by this stuff I was recommended to try by a nutritionist. If you search for it on Amazon, search for Aerobic Mag 07. It's basically a big dose of magnesium. I had to take 5-6 capsules at the beginning to get things moving, for about 2 days. Now I take 4 capsules each night. I have a BM every single day now. TMI warning.... It basically turns your bowels to liquid, but it's NOT diarrhea. There's no cramping, or pain. when you feel the need to go, you just go--and it's done! I usually got 2-3 times a day now. I used to go, maybe every 4-5 days and it was hard and painful. I'm scheduled for gastric bypass on Oct. 20th and I am concerned about not being able to take the capsules. But I've heard I might not need to either. -
So I haven’t pooped in about 9 days and I have been throwing up and getting extremely dehydrated. I have tried 3 fleet enemas and there’s nothing. Should I go to the ER for help or just wait it out? I have a really bad lower stomach pain and I can feel really thirsty but can’t keep fluids down still. My doc said do an enema a day but it’s not helping...

So glad to hear it gets better!!! I had my surgery last Friday (5/31) and it has gotten a bit better each day but by no means am I feeling great. I'm able to get 10-12 sips of Protein drink in at each meal and am constantly sipping Water. I'm still having some gas pains (yes, I'm walking like there is no tomorrow) and sleeping is still a challenge. Oh, and did I mention the liquid poop that's coming out every 2ish hours (sorry TMI!!!). So glad to know that you are much better 2 weeks out. I know this is just the toughest time and that it will get better --- sooooooo ready for that. Oh, in response to your weight lost question - I'm still up 10 lbs with hardly any calories in the last week. I'm told this is from all the liquids they pumped into me in the hospital -- I just got out yesterday afternoon. Hope I'll drop back down soon. Congrats on your progress and good luck at work today.

Feeling COMPLETELY sick while on liquid diet
love.star posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just wondering if I could get some words of wisdom or some encouragement. I decided to reach out to my "Family of Sleevers." I started my one week of pre-op all liquid diet on Fri March 11th. My surgery is March 18th. Since Ive been on the liquid diet, which consists of soups, protein shakes, sugar free pudding/jello, water, and juice. I have felt sooo sick to my stomach. I feel so sick right now as I am writing this. Ive been curled up on my couch all day. I dont feel well enough to really drink anything else. I keep feeling like I am about to throw up (TMI-I know). I feel very nauseated. =/ I was wondering if anyone had any tips or suggestions as to feeling better? I will call my dr tomorrow to see if there are any other options. I dont know if my body is experiencing withdrawls or what. PLS help. Thank you! -
To Barf, Or Not To Barf?... That Is The Question.
sabrina140 replied to sabrina140's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
After posting that I had the same thought as you... walked in to the bathroom and let it out. (Sorry again, tmi)... I must have chewed really good, because it was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be... tummy is happy again. Wheeeew. SLOW DOWN SABRINA (<-- note to self! >_< ) -
Greetings Everyone! Hope folks have been well. I have one of those 'delicate/TMI' type of questions, and who better to ask then you fine folks. I am almost 4 months post-op, (surgery on 01/27/14). I went in at 272lbs. As of this morning, I am 203.4 lbs, (ugh, I am sooo close to 'onederland' I can taste it, haha). Anyways, I have noticed over the last month or so, that my bowel movements are changing a bit. I have been having the "long thin ribbon-like" bms. I initially thought it was simply cause my new stomach was long and thin, but reading online that doesn't make as much sense as it first did to me. Since only my stomach was changed, wouldn't my normal bm size/shape remain? The thin ribbon like thing is a sign of a blockage/colon cancer, so obviously I'm cautious now. I wanted to see if anyone else post-vsg noticed a similar change to their bms. Look forward to hearing any replys, especially if your experiences match mine. :-)
