@Cookie.Monster My gallbladder was remove prior my gastric bypass last year to exact. The pain I had from that surgery was greater than my gastric bypass and hiatal hernia. To my surprise the risks are a bit higher than gastric bypass. I had low grade fevers for like 10 days, felt my upper quadrant if as someone had punch 🥊 a million times, I did manage though. Hope you feel ok 👍 just talk to your surgeon 👨⚕️ and speedy recovery

@Arancini I'm doing good. I was in hospital 5 days, had stomach drain removed after 10 days. It was key hole so I have 5 holes plus the drain one. The drain is still healing but nicely. The main work site is still bruised and tender but surgeon said I will feel swollen and pain for probably a few months. It feels like I've been punched and punched and punched but it's not as bad I thought it would be. I'm just over 3 weeks now and progressing from mush to more solid mush if you understand. I will be under the hospital for a year. But mine was done private and its a package which covers a year. I see surgeon again 18th. But see my nutrition lady and bloods doctor on Thursday where he will advise what supplements I require. I add protein powder to food 3 times a day to keep my levels up and do b12 injections once a month. How are you doing? My hardest problems are in the mind. I was brought up yo have 3 meals a day Breakfast lunch dinner But now I'm on 7-8 tiny meals a day which I think is too much in my head but they are the portion similar to a very small yogurt. But to eat anymore makes me so ill. But the advice my nutrition lady gives me is spot on (she has trained to do it I suppose) Stay strong and positive G Xxx

May Surgeries - check in!
SummerTimeGirl replied to ChunkyCali's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
So I'm down 69 lbs since surgery (may 19th), 87 lbs total since March 1st. Feel like things are slowing down for some reason. Could be lack of protein and/or water periodically. I try to be good every day and do what I need to but it doesn't always go as planned but at least I know the WHY when this happens. Just have to get better at doing the right thing. I am, however, still ahead of where my surgeon said I should be for this far in. He said at 9 months out I should weight between 217 & 245. So far my lowest has been 241. So yeah, ahead some so I think I'm doing ok. I still walk every day but have been slacking in the lifting weights department. I really need to get my butt in gear again with that. Otherwise, all is well. Still no aversions to any foods I have tried. And no issues otherwise. I have my 6 month check up next month and another full blood work up so that will be interesting. Oh, one last thing. I was put on metformin like 10 years ago to help with my insulin resistance and PCOS. My endocrinologist said that it would help greatly with keeping me regular when it came to my period. Something that was never regularly before that. And it did. Well, during my last doc appointment he halved my metformin and now it's been 44 days since I last had a period. It's really disappointing because I loved knowing when it was coming and it always did between day 28 and 33 and it would be gone in like 4 days. So, not sure if that too is having an affect on my slowed down weight loss either (hormones being out of whack?). Who knows. But that's really the only odd or off thing that has happened to me since surgery. Glad to hear everyone is doing well. -

You have been very lucky... I would say that probably 6 of 10 times there was no attempt to be discreet for me. And I used to fly quite a lot. Sitting up front is the best, though! I eventually bought my own, which worked on every airline except JSX, because their seatbelts are different. One of the more humiliating purchases I've ever made. -
Hi. I had my gastric bypass July 2019 and also struggling. I’m older than you (62) and I have gained back 30 pounds after losing 140 pounds. It can be overwhelming.
-
Thank you for asking. A 2-inch “thing” is growing in my lung, they finally found out on 10/24/21. It wasn’t visible on July 12; that was when I had a fever from something, possibly severe allergies. I am preparing for a needle biopsy at MD Anderson. I eliminated almost all animal products starting Tuesday. Now eating organic fruits, veg’s and eggs. No soy as it is all sprayed with Roundup; hard to find non-US soy. I will start on organic buckwheat & blue corneal tomorrow combining eggs & EVOO to make pancakes with treat of 3 berries and maple syrup.

Hello I am 47 and almost 3 years post op and I'm looking for support buddies. I had gastric bypass Feb 13th 2019 and I'm struggling right now and could really use a support system outside my home. Hw-298 Sw-260 Lw-200 Cw-235 Gw-170 Sent from my SM-G781U using BariatricPal mobile app

Good Gastric sleeve works, bad about sleeve and HH is the first couple of days are painful. The sleeve made it so I felt everything I swallowed, some stuff hit stomach like a knife. HH caused deep breaths to hurt and the hiccups were super painful, only good thing about HH is the hiccup was usually one isolated and the pain went away . The sleeve pain improvement has increased every day. I just had sleeve 10/21. By day 4 with lots of walking those other days I started to feel human. Now Day 8 I feel great, a little stinky but feel great. You are going to be so happy with your surgery I know I am.

November Surgery Buddies!!!
Tristenhilpert97 replied to Tristenhilpert97's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Started our PreOp 10 day diet today. It is going smoother than I imagined so far. I have been drinking my protein shakes sips at a time trying to get my body used to what it would be like after surgery and it has helped me feel full throughout the day. November 8th can't get here soon enough!! -
I had to put in an actual effort to purposely stop it after i reached goal (lost 108 lbs in 7 months). Ended up losing an additional 10+ lbs over the next couple months after that figuring out my maintenance calories. Ive been maintaining +/- 5 lbs of 115 lbs since about 9 mnths post op. I'm 3 years out today, and my weight is within the "healthy" BMI range or my height.

Hello everyone! I know this may sound crazy but I’m actually concerned about losing too much too fast! My surgery was February 24, 2021. In eight months I have lost 111 pounds. On New Year’s Day 2021 I weighed 295…. Current weight 173! Went from a size 20W/22W to an 8/10. The comments I’m getting now after eight months range from you’ve lost too much weight, to how much more weight can you possibly lose? It’s hard to explain to people that I’m just following the plan, I’m not hungry, and I feel like I can’t control this weight loss. If I’m only eight months postop can I expect to lose at least another 20 pounds by the first year? I know I sound insane but I just want to weight loss to stop and level out how long did it take for you guys to finally hit the bottom of the weight loss?

Advice: Going through with the surgery
SoCalEm replied to Namiland's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hello! I have KP also, but I'm in the So Cal region. I am unfamiliar with PCOS, but I was referred to the Options program by a PCP I happened to see for something else. Did you go through the 10 week program with the classes and receive the guidebook? If not, you must do it. I was on the fence about surgery but learned SO much and am now convinced it's the right choice for me. While a physician's opinions and recommendations are important, I feel we have to be our own advocate and show up for ourselves. My advice is to dig deep and be honest with yourself, and if you are ready to take this step, I'd seek another opinion. Just because this surgeon isn't encouraging doesn't mean you should call it quits. -
Advice: Going through with the surgery
mrsjo replied to Namiland's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I will say coming from someone who has had PCOS for 20+ years it is it’s own can of worms as far as trying to get it under control. I have a great doctor who realizes the struggle with it. Since starting on my pre-op weight loss I have realized how much it affects our weight. I can literally get 10-20 g more of carbohydrates per day and cause a weight gain. And I don’t necessarily mean “bad carbs” I mean even starchy vegetables, etc. There are some great PCOS resources out there for eating specifically for that disorder. Hoping you can find a plan or doctor who understands and can better help and treat you. I know the frustration it causes. -
Advice: Going through with the surgery
Namiland replied to Namiland's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
That's what it is currently. With my PCOS, I yo-yo a lot. Last year, it was 32, 10 years ago it was as high as 42. I've already been approved by my insurance anyway. I'm definitely going to do the increased exercise. Thank you -
November 2019 surgery and tummy tuck included
Lilypop posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
pictures are included so please be advised before hand I do include the surgery pictures just not to gross just the healed scars and all of what a fleur de lis tummy tuck looks like!!! 💢‼️‼️ Well it will soon be my 2 year anniversary for the gastric sleeve and let me tell you what kinda of world wind it has been! To this day if I eat more then 4 ounces of steak I can’t eat anything for the rest of the day since it feels stuck but so far I have been able to eat regular foods. My breads still have to be toasted to not get the tummy gurgles. My stomach talks to everyone especially at night so if I am in a night class and I haven’t smacked at my usually 4 hours it’s like “hey professor hear me answer you” so YES my stomach after I eat speaks to the whole room and after hours as well. The bathroom problem is still a problem so I can poop regularly for 2-3 days and after I’m stuck for 2 day with nothing unless I have a day full of meals then I am golden. I also had a fleur de lis tummy tuck back in January. And that itself was a mess and such a hard recovery which was worth it to fit into my clothes, just wish I didn’t have those hiccups. food wise I have been eating a bit more from what I did in the beginning but never a full size normal plate always the little cereal bowl. So I would say I can eat about a cup or so of food depending on the food heavy steaks only 4-5 ounces and some side dishes. But it’s always at 8 ounces max on good days and other day a bit more. I was seeing a nutritionist even at 2 years in and she had been amazing. weight gain and loss : before my surgeries I was at 256lb after I lost 92 pounds, then after the tummy tuck they removed about 10lbs of skin from my mid section. i was down to 147lbs in January of 2021 after the tummy tuck then now in November I have normalized to a regular weight of 154lbs -156lbs in all it had been a very very long journey and I would say for the most part I would do it again if given the opportunity. now for the pictures guys it has been really really amazing to see me like this find me on Instagram ☺️ @aishas1992 -

I make my own. But I prefer vinaigrette over cream ones. Here is the recipe of the one I make batches and batches of (I'd drink it, if I could, LOL): INGREDIENTS (Modified from Original) - [ ] 1/2 cup vegetable OR chicken broth (1 tsp bouillon + 1/2 cup water) - [ ] 1.5 cup vinegar (rice OR regular or Datu Puti) - [ ] 4 tablespoons soy sauce (OR Bragg's Liquid Aminos) - [ ] 2 teaspoon sesame oil - [ ] 2 teaspoon stevia - [ ] 2 teaspoon garlic (bottled and minced) - [ ] 1 teaspoon ginger (ground) - [ ] 1/2 teaspoon chilI paste - [ ] 2 limes (juice) 10-15 cals for 2 tbsps (depending on ingredients options chosen above) -

I am on liquid Tylenol 🤢 I have been walking a lot still trying to drink baby sips and even drove down the block ( big mistake lol I won't be doing that again for a week or so) . I am hoping it gets a little better. I did make the protein shake and was able to easily take 4-5 sips, 1 every 10 minutes . Today I'll try again . It's been so rough ! Thank you for your kind words !🥰 -
