    Assist/no Snark

let me say that this forum is a godsend to me there is another forum that chewed my happy (never never land) butt up and spit it out.. why? how come? because i had the nerve to say i was getting banded... someone referenced snide remarks to the newbies or prebies let me say....far be it from me to judge ANYONE. and if anyone thinks i have or am.....my apologies here and now. i am one of the big bmi's. yepper...the biguns you all read about. and id kill to have only to lose what some do (the lower bmi's). this does not give me the right to cast judgement or be a ass to them. i do however say, if i feel they are not following their dr's instructions (or suggestions) that they should be. you damn right. why go through all of this to just (eat some pie a few days out and say it was soft so what is the big difference) take care of your body take care of your body eat good foods no food is off limits but sometimes some foods just not need to ate eating those foods in the past made us need WLS so eat what you want but dont blame the band and say its not working ...i have to hold myself accountable to me and my dr ONLY sure i can come here and say i eat lettuce only... are you serious?...i have lap band surgery, apparently i had trouble eating in my history. i promised myself to be open (100%) and honest in all that i have/encounter with this band/plication new life journey. that includes TMI info at times and the good and the bad....... this forum has some good/great people i am honored to know them and encourage them and have them help/support me. i will always help anyone i will never say told you so or see what you done..... i will however be firm in saying you need to follow the rules: eat right eat healthy choices exercise (do what you can with what you have) make no excuses follow your dr's orders (follows ups) if something is not right---call the dr dammit (hate seeing posts that say should i call dr).....if you are thinking it, then you should.. well, please note i respect and adore any and all who have had this surgery please do what you need to do to get well if you keep doing what you always done (and needed surgery because you are fat/obese) then you will remain just that. and that goes for me too.

Laying on my back is ok sometimes but with the the surgery it feels so uncomfortable because its pulling on my stomach. Then I have to keep pee'ing ( sorry tmi ) and its a you know what to get up from laying down. So, now I am watching tv. Thankfully my in laws will be over at 8-9am to watch my son. I hope tomorrow I will feel much better!

    Continuous Lady Time, Anyone Else?

The day after I wrote this I started gushing! Bright red, TONS of clots (sorry tmi). This cannot be normal. I'm almost 3 months out and it's not like there has been a large build up bc I haven't had my period! I've had it continuously! I'm on provera now to try to stop the bleeding. I don't know if this has anything to do with the surgery... I've stopped losing weight and inches. Almost no change in 20 days. I can only guess it is because I'm not getting enough calories an water in each day. This was the single worst decision I ever made.
  9. So happy to hear the good news Lila! Being in your own home, surrounded by loved ones, sleeping in your own bed, you are going to heal wonderfully with all this positive around you! As everyone has said, entirely normal, you will probably be more intune with your body than most after all u have been through. So it will guide you, don't worry. I think u are doing really well- maybe tmi, but I was usually guided by the colour of my pee! Lol. As long as it was light to clear I wasn't going to stress too much about exactly how much I have taken in- at least for the first couple of weeks anyway. Now i am able to have liquids so easily that drinking 2-3 liters isnt a problem. I found going for a light walk felt really good for the soul during this time too. xx

    Salad?

I am six months out today... I've tried salad a few times... Either the baby greens or the romaine... And seems that every time it upsets my stomach... Tmi but when I poop after I eat lettuce... You know it! But all other parts of a salad (cucumbers, tomato, olives) are fine.
  13. Hey everyone, so this might be hard for me to explain so pls bare with me. Im 18 months post op and 8 weeks pregnant. Everytime I throw up (sry TMI) I get this massive air bubble in my stomach that makes me literally breath in air into my stomach. Its a little painful and very uncomfortanvle. Does anyone else have this and how do you deal with it?

    October Bandsters?

Maybe, but are you sure that it's the medicine that made you constipated? I know it's very normal to not go near as much on the post op diet. I didn't go til almost a week after either and I've only gone like 3 times since surgery on the 12th. Lol, TMI, but whatever! If you're having pain, take something! You'll heal much faster! =) Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using LapBandTalk
  15. Howdy! School and 4H has kept me so busy - I have to try and remind myself to post here once in awhile! I am so glad to be posting on the "success Stories" forum.... Want to hear of a great NSV (nonscale victory!)? - kids went on a canoe and kayak event with 4H, my eldest didn't have a partner...so I did it! I climbed in both a canoe and kayak - and didn't drown us! I paddled and had a blast! I NEVER would have attempted that at 300 pounds!!! I am continuing to slowly lose weight - I still weigh every morning, and I really shouldn't. I know the long tern will be in a down direction!! I desperatly need to go clothes shopping - my panties are baggy ooops - sorry if TMI! I feel better overall, still struggle to drink what I should.....it's hard. Hope all is well with my other sleeve buddies!!

I Have A Question About Going To The Bathroom

No it's not. I took some more MOM tonight to make sure it's all out. I know, Tmi, but it happenes, lol.

    Fiber

I really need lots of fibre to manage IBS and having no rectum and no " push" muscles but Metamucil, Benefibre, Normafibe, all of them give me tons if pain, bloating and gas. But LSA mix or just plain ground linseeds, absolutely fantastic - soft easy to pass stools without urgency or bloating. Sorry for TMI but when you've lost thtat part of your body and naturally produce something that looks like rabbit poo, to produce something larger than what the cat left in the litter box is cause for celebration!!!! I sprinkle on muesli, str into yogurt, use to make low carb minute muffins or alternatively, eat a big spoonful followed by a glass of Water.
  18. Yep, it's been a while... a crazy month but here I am... almost a month since my last post and a full week post-op! So, I'm going to try to give the short version of my month because I'll be up typing all night if I don't (it's currently midnight!). In my last blog, I believe everything had just been submitted... I got denied twice! Yep you read it right... twice! I guess those idiots didn't know who they were saying no to! They tried to tell me that I wasn't sick enough and that I didn't do my nutrition... blah blah blah... at one point I actually cited Maryland law which requires them to cover the procedure based on my issues . I am known as the queen of arguing but they didn't know that... neither did the chic from my doc's office that kept givin me the run around til I emailed her boss LOL. Long story short... I was sleeved on the 16th even with two denials! So... after my approval... I tried to do my pre-op diet... really I did, but I had less than two weeks between approval and surgery and I seriously worked over 80 hours a week to make sure everything I was responsible for was done before I went out and the stress of that combined with no food caused major migraines so I ate. I ate significantly less, but I ate. One week to the day before surgery, I had a miscarriage... I didn't know I was pregnant until I lost it (I have an IUD so this was not supposed to happen)... I also didn't know you could mourn a child you didn't know you were pregnant with (I learned several things that week)... A visit to the ER explained that my IUD slipped out (it's in but out so not providing protection which is how I got pregnant) and I have a major fibroid . The miscarriage only caused minor problems with my sugery (the anesthesiologist refused to move forward due to my positive preg test from the week prior even after I explained the miscarriage - the staff OB/GYN cleared me for surgery and we moved on). I was terribly stressed prior to surgery due to some of the things people have posted on here... I cried all through pre-surg prep b/c of this. Apparently my surgery was text book despite my having failed miserably at the pre-op diet... do not use this as your idicator though... I believe I got lucky (God feeling I've had a bad enough month)... I did not get a pain pump post-op and the first nurse was being stingy with drugs. Also, my body does not like to pee after anesthesia so I could not go without pushing which was not fun... especially with limited pain meds. I also kept getting horrible hiccups that made me want to die but I survived the night. I didn't sleep much yet the time passed. I left the hospital the next day around 3 p.m. My post-op diet involved 2 days of clears and now I'm on full liquids. I've been healing well so I'm tolerating shakes, yogurt, soups, and I'm hungry pretty quick. From posting and reading, I know this is normal but that doesn't make it suck any less . As for the TMI section of this... farting post op was really hard to do! It really helped to walk to move the gas and to get on all fours if it wouldn't pass (sounds weird but I found this on google when it was hurting bad and it worked LOL). I'm a week out and I still haven't done anything beyond pee in the toilet... tonight I drank a laxative tea and am hoping it works... I know I'm putting stuff in there but I'm wondering what's happening to it . Last thing and I'm signing off... It's 12:20 now so I'm doing awesome! I know I've lost weight... I've weighed myself and I've already seen one physical change. I have my first official post op appointment tomorrow though so I'm going to wait until then to update my weight on here so stay tuned. I'm also hoping to get to move on to mushies early tomorrow since I'm starving and tolerating things so well (he said it was a possibility before the sugery). Good night fellow sleevers and those lurking as I once was .

    Constipation. Tmi!

Someone suggested smooth move tea on my TMI post a week ago.... Almost mth out.... It worked and was pretty mild compared to a laxative , I made that mistake And almost died! Lol anyways I liked it I let my self get a week out and uncomfortable before I use anything. Good luck.
  22. I just had my surgery oct 15 2012 and I am still on liquids. I have not had a bowel movement since the day before my surgery. My stomach hurts like crazy, everybody is telling me to gas but that is not happening frequently either. I think I might have gas four times since my surgery. When does things go back to normal and how long does it take to have your first poop?. (Sorry tmi)

    Constipation. Tmi!

I tried laxitives and powders but they really do not make a difference. When are you are able to exercise, running really helps. You know sort of impacts everything down in the correct area, hee hee I dont think there is such thing as TMI on this site:-)

    Constipation. Tmi!

Get some Miralax and mix it in your shakes. As I got further out, I then switched to stool softeners. YOU ARE NOT ALONE in this tmi segment you posted. Hang in there! It gets easier! And I hate Water, but love crystal light like add ins. My current addiction is "crush" flavors that I found at Family Dollar or Dollar General of all places. Best of luck! xx Stephanie
