  1. *Battling the 3 week stall!*

    1. skinnygirlwithin

i look at it this way... i am down 72lbs in 4 1/2 months... when have i EVER been able to say that??? NEVER... so if i am at a stall for a few weeks... then so be it, it wont be forever... So i am going to try to shake it up a bit, and do my "pre-op" diet for the next 2-3 days... keep strong - we will get through this together!!

I only lost 2lbs this week. Maybe it's because I wasn't drinking the water like I should. Need to flush out the FAT! I think our bodies are still out of whack and wondering what it should be doing. Drink drink drink....walk walk walk. :-)

  11. How was your fill last week? I got 2 cc put in mine so I'm up to 6 cc total right now! I definiately feel a big difference from the 4 cc I had before but I'm not in the green just yet.

Hi ErinMarie! No fill for me. Dr and nutritionist said I wad in starvation mode and that I needed to be eating more. I was pushed up to the final stage of eating.......yeah for raw veggies!!!! Some days I eat well and other days I am not too hungry so I guess for now 2cc' s it is.

How are you doing? How full was your band last time you were in the green zone? How long can you go without eating?

    2. ErinMarie

      ErinMarie

When I was at my sweet spot before my pregnancy I was at 8 cc. I had 4 taken out due to swelling and I just had 2 put back in, so I'm up to 6 cc now. I am hungry on 1 cup portions about every 2 hrs right now (which I expected). I really can't remember how far I went without eating when I was in the green zone, but I know it was pretty normal (3 meals a day, maybe one snack). I expect I will need that other 2 cc to get back into the green. I feel restriction, but I can tell it's no...

  12. So, my dr's office didn't submit one requirement to insurance which will delay my surgery by 10 weeks. I was given the pre-op diet to lose 5 lbs. Would you stay on the pre-op or wait 5 weeks to start it?

    1. Michael Day

      Michael Day

I would cut back on your calories prior to your pre-op diet. I cut back on my calories a month prior, it has helped my in tolerating my 2 week pre-op diet consisting of 2 protein shakes and 6 oz of lean protein and a cup of veggies. I am not hungry between my meals. I also added the protein shakes to my diet a month prior. On pre-op diet you will feel a little more fatigued than normal. Good luck and time will fly by.

perhaps a carb free diet. this will help get rid of belly fat which in turns helps your surgeon place the band.

I'm more consistent during the week where there's more structure and I struggle on the weekends. So maybe I can stick to the pre-op during the week and do the shakes in the morning and lean protein, vegetables, and light carbs on the weekend?

  16. Hi, Just wanted to see how you are doing? Also to say YAY for us, 2 weeks post-op! Hope you are still doing well ;o)

  17. I really don't want to sound uneducated or whiny on here, but I have an issue I want to discuss. I had my surgery on Sept. 25. Doing really good, with a total of 54 pounds lost by Christmas. I follow my Dr.'s plan, although usually do miss the H2o goal daily, mostly due to work constraints. I have a scale that measures body fat, bone density, etc.I have had a fair amount of stalls here and there, but this week, I have actually gained 4 pounsa., 2 one day, and then 2 the next. It's...

      ☠carolinagirl☠

to gain 1 pound, you have to eat 3500 calories.....so did you overeat by 12000+ calories? ......if not, then it could be sodium, TOM or you just need to go potty.....stay the course.....to lose weight, you must not eat more cals than you can burn off.....whatever WLS you have......hang in there and keep doing what your dr told you......DEF drink A LOT

  18. week 2 of my pre op diet..the world hasn't ended lol

  19. Learning that if I follow the guidelines, the weight is going to come off. I'm down 3 pounds already for the week, 16.5 total in December. My official weekly weigh-in day is on the 25th. I don't really need to over-think things. I'm getting to the stage, though, where I really want some phase 2 foods (puree/soft food) - which I move on to on Christmas day (yay me)! I'm fantasizing about cottage cheese w/salsa, hummus, scrambled eggs, egg salad, tuna salad, blended soups, real smoothies instea...

  21. I measured out a teaspoon of smooth natural nothing added pb and savored every lick! I'm less than 2 weeks post op. It tasted fantastic. It's a soft food right?

Not a good choice. A lot of fat, sugar and not much protein

try some almond butter, I gave up peanut butter a few months ago and switched to almond butter instead. I only buy the all natural no stir from MaraNatha and I keep it to about 1 tsp. Fat from almonds is healthier than peanuts

I did the same thing. My nut said it's actually a good protein choice if I go for the natural, nothing added, and keep it to a tsp. I love it as a treat.

    How I want to look

These are pictures of how I used to look 10 years ago. I'll be going to the new comers seminar at the hospital next week. So I'm as new as a newby can be. But I've scanned the web and quizzed my primary care and all my specialists. They all say I should have it, in spite of being on Coumadin/Warfarin & Plavix. It's a risk for me to have dental work. So I don't go under the knife without a hell of a BANG for the buck. Even though the buck ain't mine. I'm on Medicare A&B. I've been delaying this for about 2 years. Because I feel the Vertical Sleeve is better for me. So, I'm going for the Lap Band.
