Had my surgery on September 12, 2011 I am feeling a little sore today but other than that it's really not as bad as I thought it was going to be. I am happy to start my weight loss journey. I had my surgery at Enloe Hospitial in Chico and my Doctor is Dr. Deron Ludwig I believe he is the best. My incisions are pretty small and the only thing that is really tender is the port area.

Hi I'm Shona and live in Australia and need to loose weight, so need to find a surgeon near Werribee west Melbourne. Taken me 2 hrs to make this decision. Have spoken to surgeon in Sydney in past.

Well I am a gym member! I really want to go back. I can't believe that I miss, but since I gained 50lbs I am embarassed. I only have the endoscopy, pulmogist, and psych left. Almost there but I am eager to get the band. How was the hosiptal and the prodecure? How many incisions? Glad you are on the right track! Maybe we will meet at a support group

I am having LBS on the 10 th of August 2011. I am on my 3 Rd day of liquids and it's going fine. I am worried about the people who only loose 5 pounds or even 50 pounds I really want to loose all my weight.

Use sweets as a treat 1 day/wk. This works for me. Even though I fall off the wagon. I immediately start over. Sometimes I trip at lunch, I do right for dinner. Call for your fill, you need one. This will help as well. I had to be unfilled and gained 30+ pounds. I had to start over from the beginning. You can do it!!! How much do you want to lose? Tell me a little more. Do you exercise?

Meekie this is my first time posting & I really need some band friends. I have been secretive about it with everyone except for my mother, niece, and a clost friend. I am really a private person. Next week I would have had my band for 1 year and I have lost 40 pounds. I am a bit down today because I have gained 5 pounds. I missed my fill last month because of schedule conflicts. Need advice.

don't be nervous about the fills they are not that bad... they get easier as the weight drops off... good luck

I just had my first fill yesterday (my surgery was also Jan 14th). I'd lost sufficient weight so it wasn't necessary but I felt like i could REALLY eat so I went through with it.

I am a low bmi (29) but QUICKLY heading the wrong direction. Just had a serious back injury and can't run anymore. That was the only thing that helped my weight/food battle. Am grateful that Dr. Hollis agreed to the surgery. Thanks for the well wishes!

I was 265 and now I am 235. I did get down to 209 but gained some weight since I have back to Michigan. How are you doing with your band?

Thanks for adding me Today I am on my way to the Doctor. They found out that I am Insulin Resistant.My Doctor wants me to go on this med call Metformin. She said I might loose weight on it. I am still going through the process for this surgery. I feel alittle alone at this. I am not telling my family about the surgery. I dont want to worry my Mom.

Hello All Bandsters. It's been a while...like 4 mos since I talked to anyone. Lost about 40#s but actually need another fill. I contemplated loosing on my own but had been maintaining between 103 and 109 kg's Started at 123.1. Now I need my next fill which is Monday 21 Feb 11. The cold months sure puts a damper on appetites. Gearing up for some serious weight loss now. READY AGAIN.

Hello RussianBandit, I'm actually working with NYU weight management as well. So I happy to see someone give feedback on them, I have my last appointment this coming Friday and I meet the surgeon Monday. So I'm excited and scared all rolled into one, so how does it work when you meet with the surgeon they gave you a tentitive surgery date pending approval from your insurance company? Thank You:)

I was the same weight you were when i decided to get the band (325 @ 6'1) I losted around 10lbs before I was actually band and within 6 months I am down 55 pounds. It seems like a slow process, but I thank God I am not the same person. You have done an outstanding job. I too have the walk off the pounds video. I do enjoy it. You work it girl!

Thanks. I did back pedal a bit and gained 15 lbs I guess. My husband is in Korea and I was bouncing around but now im stable at my parents and getting back on track.

hey there..i still dont have a date i called and was told i needed to wait 2 months for a consultation date..i weight 240 idd like to be at least 150 so a good 90 pounds if i loose more that would b great..how much do u want to lose?

IT WAS VERY NICE! I TOOK MY SON FOR SPRING BREAK.MY SURGEON WAS DR. SARKER FROM LOYOLA MEDICAL CENTER IN MAYWOOD. I THINK I NEED TO GO FOR A FILL THOUGH, I HAVE BEEN STUCK WITHOUT LOSING WEIGHT FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS AND ITS VERY DISCOURAGING I HOPE CAN GET BACK ON TRACK SOON.
