  1. Ladies... WOW! I'm loving these updates... well done nannieg... you got it sorted now Meg!! WTH... I agree with Dorrie, you need to get some new trousers...lol... great NSV! Dorrie... you HAVE the DRIVE... get out there and do it! It feels really good to get that heart beating! =] GT... I am loving your crossfit update... you go my lovely sleeve friend! What an achievement... I am well proud and a slight bit envious! Sometimes I really wished I lived over the pond!! I'm just chugging along at the moment... nothing to report, no changes anywhere but all good! x
  2. Hey! Words of wisdom again Meg! Loves it! I particularly relate to the 'choice' mantra - I practise this most days - mostly my choices are good and when they are not, I don't stress anymore! I suppose that is an NSV of sorts. It certainly helps with the mental side of weight loss and struggling to get to goal. I have been home from my holidays for ages now... over a month. Lost the holiday weight, and now bouncing around from 163-164-165 ... I still weigh most mornings - got to to make sure that I don't go over the bounce range and I think partly to torment myself...lol! Would love to see the scale lower, but, well we'll see how the ole body reacts. Next mth the stall will be a year old... thinking of starting a new thread...lol! I am really convinced that my stall is hormone related... although I am still taking my tablets to stop the hot flushes, they are back! Not like before but they are getting worse - I am trying to get an appointment to discuss this with my doc, perhaps I need to change my tablets now?

This morning I had a small NSV! I got out of the shower and used a regular, standard size bath towel to wrap around myself. There was enough cloth to overlap it in the front! Nothing was gaping (if you know what I mean!) LOL! I guess now I will have to use the beach towels I had been using after showering for... oh I don't know, maybe the beach!!! I had another NSV last night. I went to Lane Bryant to look for a couple of tops. Well, I thought I would try an 18/20 to see if I could get into it. Surprise surprise, too big!! Had to get a 14/16! Amazing to me that back in August, before I started my 6 month, med.-supervised diet and before my May banding, I was wearing a 26/28 top at LB. And sometimes it was tight in the hips! In any case, I had a little weepy moment in the dressing room. I can't believe how proud I am of myself, and of all of us! :whoo: Margaret

Yesterday was a good day for me also. Used weights, arm curles, lunges and knee bends (thighs are talking to me about it today) Did my sit ups YEA, 100 total. Today is good so far, working on my first round of Water, 33 oz bottle. Almost got it down. That is always my goal before lunch. Having Healthy Choice Soup for lunch and salmon for supper tonight. NSV - I can fit into size 10 pants, and still breath, and no muffin top. I am so excited. OH and bought a Medium size sweather yesterday, and it FITS. OH I also have additional motivation. Found out the my DH's daughter (from previous marriage) is graduation from college in May. I have never met the X-wife, and she will be at the graduation. So, I must look HOT, I mean real HOT. So that is my motivation to drink my water, exercise and to not eat junk food. X-Wife eat your heart out, I will be some kind of arm candy for my DH come May. Take care all, Laura

Scale is not moving much but I have been doing better on the exercise....thanks to Sandra for kicking our butts in gear!! I had a bad stuck experience yesterday, going to the docs in a couple of weeks, not sure about another fill after yesterday!!! I guess you are supposed to chew your food and not inhale it like the old days!!!! How do I forget like that????? Wenjea....good to hear from you again! Maureen

Well, It wont be a NSV for me until they actually fit but it made me feel good anyway. A really thin girl at work had a baby about a year ago and said she had some clothes she wore after the baby that she had bought at GAP or somewhere, she asked what size I was in now and I told her 18's and some 16's. She brought me these clothes which are 12's and 14's!! I am not even able to squeeze into them I am sure but it made me feel so good that someone else thinks I will be able to soon. My scale still hasnt moved in a while and my trainer is kicking my rear at the gym so I know with the muscle weight will start coming off too. Way to go on all the NSV's!

Lizrbit, Your right, I didn't eat six of the donuts like I would have before. And good news. I got back on track for the weekend and I can't wait for my monthly wght in on the 1rst. Remember I was 196 on Oct 1. I hope I am in the 180's now. That would be wonderful. My NSV today was that I had my back to my office door this morning and a coworker (dosn't know I had the band) walked in and gasped and said man, your loosin some wght! I said can ya tell...and she said yes! Loved the gasp! Wenjea, I know that it must be so frusterating not having the scale move. My encouragement to you is that you are changing your shape. Isn't it amazing how weights do that. You are probably in better shape than most of us. Looks like you are doing everything right. Just keep doing it. Maybe stop wghing on that scale and worry only about the inches. I am amazed at your wght loss! You should be so proud. Don't worry about rushing the numbers. It will happen, it really really will. By next May...these days will only be a memory! Your gonna be hot! blessings, Weazer

    Any locals?

NSV alert ---> I fit into an XL!!!! I knew I needed a new coat this year, and I want something WARM. So I was eyeing an LL Bean down coat. They are much more expensive in Women's sizes, so I was hoping that maybe, just maybe, I could squeeze into an XL. I was reluctant to spend $100 to try it though, so I got this one off of Ebay before making the investment.... L.L Bean Crimson Insulated Quilted Barn Jacket coat XL - eBay (item 300257064951 end time Sep-15-08 10:11:15 PDT) And, it fits!!! A little tight in the belly, but not too bad. By cold weather it should do just fine. I'm so excited. I haven't been in Misses sizes since college when I lost a lot of weight for a few months. Woohoo! I know I'm nowhere near XL in regular clothing. But I'm still excited. It's not an ugly, freezing cold Woman Within coat!
  11. Thanks so much for taking the time to respond to me. I plan to maintain my workouts. More so to make sure that I am consistent. I think that is one of the main reasons I am on this see-saw. I am trying to work on being consistent with logging my food on my fitness pal. And I will do better to focus on my NSV. Thanks so much.

My first big Ole' NSV list......

Mandy - I love the one about the plane seat! I have a funny story about my mom and dad on a plane trip.... For my 30th birthday I went to Las Vegas with a big group of friends including my mom and dad --- my mom and dad are both pretty darn overweight - my dad in particular. Now my dad had a really hard time sitting in the seat and told the guy next to him they were going to be good friends by the end of the flight (as his stomach is sitting in the guy's lap). The guy was not amused. So, for the trip back my mom and dad got to the airport really early to try and get the two person seat by the wall (all the others were three across). So we're all sitting watching when my mom and dad went to sit down. My dad sat first and my mom couldn't fit in, so they both stood up and butted up close to one another and tried to wedge themselves in at the same time. I can't tell you what a picture that was - we were all laughing so hard we thought we were gonna pee. The flight attendant gave me and my friends a firm scolding and was horrified that we were laughing at this poor couple! It was my mom and dad after all, so we thought it was ok. Anyone else that laughed at them I would've punched out. Extra weight is a terrible thing! These NSV's are even better than weight loss! How encouraging! I'm banded now in hopes of getting my dad to follow in my footsteps. I worry about him constantly and think that this is his only hope! Congratulations on your NSV's - you should be very proud of yourself!

Oh I know EXACTLY where you are coming from! I have not had anything like you experienced happen since I have had surgery (and I hope everything checks out OK for you!). I have lost over 200 pounds, and I know all too well the way I was treated “differently” as a morbidly obese patient! Earlier this month I had to go in for my first Colonoscopy (I am now 51). It was SO NICE to be treated like a ‘normal’ patient!! I think the only things that made me stand out was that I got really cold and I was dehydrated after the prep so my blood pressure was low and they had to give me IV Fluids. I would guess that these are two things they see in a LOT of patients – probably more that are close to a normal BMI (which I am). I am sure we all have stories that we could share about the horrible treatment by the medical establishment BEST NSV that I have read in a really long time! Thank you so much for sharing!! Carol

Glad you are doing better. Hope the monitor helps find the cause so it won't happen again. I can completely understand how this can be an NSV. Thanks for sharing. pam

    You won't believe this NSV

I do believe it because you have an honest face. That is quite an inside-out NSV, but I get it. Isn't it amazing that some past experiences resonate today so that we weave them into current events? I'm glad you're fine today, but think you should have your own doctor give you a look-over. We're not supposed to faint for no apparent reason.

    You won't believe this NSV

If you don't already, carry some trail mix or string cheese and a bottle of Water everywhere you go. I used to faint when I was normal sized (ah, to be thin again... soon!) because I was hypoglycemic. Blood sugar would crash, and down I'd go. It happened with some regularity until I brought Snacks with me. If you feel faint, eat a few bites and it should pass. This is if I'm correctly understanding the issue. I'm glad you had a positive experience with the EMTs and lack of embarrassment - I definitely understand! But fainting can be dangerous depending on where you are. I've heard of folks suffering from fairly serious head injuries from fainting in the bathroom and hitting the sink or tub, for example. You can't control how you fall. It's like one second you're standing up, then your vision clouds and hearing goes into a vacuum, and boom, you're awake on the floor surrounded by panicked faces. Congrats, though, on the NSV!
  18. This is weirdly a great NSV! I was in a car accident before my sleeve surgery and had two broken ankles and refused to go in the ambulance. I was horrified thinking about getting on the stretcher and the EMTs lifting me up. 130 lbs less I wouldn't worry about it now.
  19. DH took me to dinner, then (WARNING NSV AHEAD)...HE TOOK ME TO VICTORIA'S SECRET, AND I FIT INTO THE CLOTHES. He bought me this sexy lil number, and meeee-yow!! check me out from before we left the house, compared to before we left the house on surgery day!!! This is so much fun!!!!!! stay tuned for the front pic...see next post...
  20. It's been over 9 months and I'm just now getting up the guts to post before and afters. Right now my scale is broken but I know I'm over 60 lost. I still have 100 to go but today I had a HUGE NSV. I went to buy some new carpi's for work and before surgery I wore 28's (tight) 30/32's. Today I grabbed a 26 and too big. 24...too BIG! I bought 22's!!!! I can't remember the last time that happened. It's been over 10 years since I fit 22's!!! My shirts are still bigger because I carry my weight around my mid section, but I can now shop for shirts at lane bryant again. Anyways, I figured it's time to post some pic's. I finally see a difference! Thanks to everyone for being so inspiring! Love you all! First pic was taken a few days prior to surgery and the second was taken tonight!
  21. Rain - Don't give up - just put one foot in front of the other. I rely on your posts for motivation and I am so impressed with your loss so far. This is a bump in the road - you will soon be back to posting your wonderful NSV's!

AussieLady, I embeded the video in the following topic http://www.verticals...52-nsv-changes/..hopefully you can view it there Shell - WAY to go *insert happy dance*...you look awesome. Thank you all for your feedback and comments, especially about the video and the negative people. I know I have to walk away from this person, but he was my biggest supporter over the last year, being there encouraging me for almost every challenge I set myself. But he lies to me, about things that are not worth it, so how can I believe what he says about me...his actions and words dont aline and it just does my head in. Talking to him about it only leads to more lies..anyway I will find a way to put some distance be healthy mind and spirit. New Year...finally New ME!! BTW I am open to be set up if anyone know and nice elligible single men hahaha:)
