Less than a week!

Still pretty sore, huge tmi but I want to let other know because I wasn't prepared for it. I just got a huge yeast infection Tuesday night. It is actually worse than the incision and stomach pains. Having all that on top of having a catheter, recovery has been a little rough. I still wouldn't change my decision though. I have been having a little regrets, but then I look at how happy everyone is with their sleeves and I get over it quite quickly. -
Oh no! Thanksgiving is coming!!!!!
*slim* replied to theninside's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I won't fuss. I am having my 2nd fill the week before Thanksgiving. I could have scheduled it for the week after and still been able to eat everything. I decided that I needed to proceed as I plan to live, so I plan to not eat at the large family gathering where everyone will be watching to see what I eat. Instead, I will eat with my DH and son. That way, if something doesn't agree, I am at home with my own toilet. (I know, TMI) -

Ok guys lets talk. I've been searching through old post and cant find one subject on this. I've been with my BF for 4 yrs and we like to keep it interesting, new "moves" and stuff. ( if this is TMI turn away now) I am pretty flexable for being a PHAT girl. My question is...is anything off limits? Will I feel a poke from the port, will he feel the port (not that I think he would care) but serioulsy can I damage the band or the port, by having a wildly "good time"? Oh and how long before you were "back in the game" after being banded?

Miralax and such is safe to use because it doesn't have any stimulants in it to cause issues. My surgeon said that in the beginning there may be days between BM. A bit TMI but even 7 weeks out I go maybe once every three or four days. Because our amount of food has significantly smaller than what it used to be our body has to adjust. -
Telling People You Are Banded?
WonderWmn replied to WannaBe1/2TheWoman's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just started the process and won't be banded until September since my insurance requires the 6 month weight loss program... anyway, I've already started telling people... I don't really care what anybody has to say about it, it's my body and my health... so far I've gotten a few 'you don't need that, it's not like you can't walk around', lol... well if they knew my BMI was 43 then maybe they wouldn't think that way... my boyfriend is also going to do it and he's not wanting to tell anyone until afterward... he doesn't have the most supportive family and two of his friends kinda burst his bubble when he told them... my family is thrilled for me and they know how long I've struggled with this and they know me and that I wouldn't make a decision like this unless I had thought it through. But for those people that are private and not wanting to share TMI, I totally understand... I've never been a private person so it's in my nature to blurt it out, hehe -

Blood When I Went To Bathroom?

Tmi im sure but do you had hemroids? Maybe a blood vessel broke? -
BooBooKitty, Ok, I've brought this up before in another thread but truth be told, that cute bull dog puppy is just a pic I found because I found it to be so cuuuute!!! My actual dogs are rescue dogs from Puerto Rico, Moxie a sato girl and Kiba a rescue boy from Hurricane Katrina, a rottie/shepherd mix. The sato looks more like a larger min pin. When I can get my husband to put their pics up I'll change my avatar. Because they are my babies and I love them even when they are rotten, but they are also very spoiled! Especially now that my daughters in 19 and 23 it's easier to baby the dogs! I'll have to search your dog breed on line. I'd love a bull dog but I really can't because these two are more than anyone can handle. Second truth be told which I haven't told anyone, brandy is the name of my beagle that died a few years ago and she was my favorite dog ever except for the two I have now and she was my second dog so that's where "brandyII" comes from. I named her after that song from the 70s, that went something like "Brandy you're a fine girl what a good wife you would be". Anyway I always liked that song, plus the breeders called her family line Brandywine or something like. Okay tmi for you all, sorry. brandyII.

Georgia Girl, you poor thing. I would have been mortified. I got some cranberry capsules today. I used to take them all the time but then my dr. put me on a low dose of antibiotics which I have taken for years. I can only assume my body has built up a tolerance to them. Good think I don't have a bf or DH. I used to get a UTI every time I had sex. (okay I know TMI again) All Boys, stay out of this thread!

I was sleeved one week ago and I've only lost 6 pounds. Ordinarily this would be good, but if these are my reeks during rapid weight loss, then this is going to be an impossibly long journey. Note that I was 402 on my surgery date. I'm getting my protein in and adequate fluids. I have a bowl movement daily (tmi), and I walk. Any ideas of what else I can do?

TMI Alert. I seem to only have nausea when I need to have a bowel movement. I guess it's a good warning system, but I hope it goes away. Anyone else have this issue? -
The gas is better today. I woke up feeling really good and walked for about a mile with my husband. After that I was tired and took a 2 hour nap. I have been on the Gas X strips and they seem to be so-so. Walking helped today. I also had a BM(TMI - I know) and that got rid of a lot of gas:ohmy: I am finding out that I really don't like the plain broths. I have been straining Soups and eating the broth. Thanks for all the well wishes. Each day does get better.

Sorry About The "tmi" Question....
Jeniluv1978 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi All!! Question... I had surgery on Tuesday so I'm 3 days out. I've been having water diarrhea since. Anyone else have this? -
I was going to call my surgeon on Tuesday for the same thing. I am a little over 4 months out and mine are horrible. I cramp like crazy. I retain so much water weight. My flow is so heavy I sometimes have to wear tampons and pads and sometimes still leak. I am so over this. Sorry I am sure this is TMI but maybe someone is having the same issues. I hate this. I have had 3 babies and I am fixed....I am ready for my period to go away.

I have no idea. When I was in the hospital. They told me the pain in my chest was the gas coming up. Today, a week later I'm finally passing gas (tmi) and I pooped after almost two weeks. It was hard but thank goodness! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

TMI...the only good thing I found about lactose intolerance was it was really easy to resolve a bout of constiptation! Chug a glass of milk or some ice cream!

Thanks Band_Groupie, I know my dad and my maternal grandmother had colon polyps removed but as I don't turn 50 for a year and a few months I was kind of waiting till then to find out if I had those also. Didn't know if there would be a direct connection meaning if I had them in my stomach I may have them in my colon too. While banded I was pretty much constipated (tmi) most of the time so who knows what's going on down there! I know it's inevitable and the same doc will do my colonoscopy but most people are like me and aren't rushing out to do it. Thanks for your info, Nancy:smile:.

Hi everyone. What a great place to come to share stories and get advice. I am one week 3 days post op. I have a question for everyone. I had nausea really bad the first few days. I mean, I couldn't even drink 15ml of liquid lortab that they were trying to give me for pain. I'd gag so hard and had the dry heaves. I know, TMI. But it was horrible. Now, I don't have the nausea as much, but as soon as I put anything in my mouth, which is liquids now, or pudding, etc., I get really nauseated. Has anyone experienced this? I called the nurse and should be getting a call back soon.

Help! I need FIBER!
Jordien replied to sleeve 4 me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
lol... kinda like talking about our babies. once you're a mom and have done this sort of stuff, nothing seems like TMI! lol... I hope things get moving for everyone. I give that oatmeal to my little guy who's 4, just realized it. I always buy the high fiber. Figure it can't hurt. Tastes the same. -
3 Weeks Post-Op - Foamies/bubble In Chest? Anytime I Eat Or Drink
blondeej posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey ya'll, I was 3 weeks post op on Monday. I've had a pretty seamless recovery thus far, but here lately every time I drink or eat anything I get the foamies/excess saliva feeling. And it also feels like I have a bubble right in the middle of my chest. Which sometimes feels like it will never go away. The best way I can describe it is that I feel like I want to burp SUPER bad, but when I do, nothing come out - or I get food/liquid come up with my attempted burp (sorry for the TMI!!) I think maybe I am eating/drinking too quick and not taking small enough bites maybe? I've been struggling with remembering the small bites an slow.... Maybe I need to go back to more milder foods? I am really struggling with wanting to eat ANYTHING right now. I should be eating 600-800 cals at this point and I am lucky if I get 350 in or so a day. Any of you veteran sleevers out there have any input? I am also experiencing the "common" 2-3 week post-op stall, but we won't even go there! LOL Trying to keep my sanity over that one. -
liquid diet questionS- 5 days in.
BrookeTiffani posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey guys! Hope everyone is enjoying their Friday. Couple quick questions that I'd like anyone's opinion on.. #1- I know there are premade shakes that you can buy at the store, however, I am a busy girl on a budget. I have been making Protein shakes from my Protein powder and soy milk each morning. I will make one drink it immediately and then right before work I will make another one for lunch and have it in the fridge until I am ready for it. Pre-made would be MUCH easier but with saving for being out of work for two weeks (silly me did not elect for short term disability this year) it just isn't doable right now. So, I was wondering if anyone went ahead and premade 5-6 cups or however much a blender would hold of the protein powder shakes and just stored them in the fridge until they were ready for them? I figured i could make a big batch ahead of time and then measure out as I'm going. Has anyone done this and was it easier? Also, the consistency. i wouldnt want it to get a weird consistency like sometimes shakes do. #2- (and this one might be a tmi) I am having a weird time going to the restroom. Did the liquid diet mess with anyone elses bowel movements? Other than that, day 5 is going good. I slipped on day 2 and then gave my debit card to a trusted source so I wouldnt be able to have easy access to cheat.. and once I did that it was smooth sailing. Today the hungry feeling has come back but i think it is all in my head because I got my card back (haha). I have ignored the feeling though and am excited at my will power. the guilt from day 2 was enough to not want that solid food anymore. -
Thanks for all the well wishes from everyone! I am home today, doing pretty well I think, pain isn't too bad I didn't take any narcotics while in the hospital except the percocet that one time. They did send me home with a Loritab script and I took it once this afternoon, no problems keeping that down and it basically put me to sleep for a little while. Last night I had terrible knots in my throat/stomach every time I sipped anything it would feel like it was stuck, then I could feel it move, then another know again and so on. This morning i felt good and was able to finally pass gas, TMI I know but they wouldnt' let me leave until I did that. I have some knots again tonight. I drank a whole Isopure today with quite a bit of Water and a couple ounces of chicken broth. I definitely don't want to get dehydrated. My Aunt and Uncle came to see me last night at the hospital, so nice of them and they gave me a gift card to Kohl's so I can go shopping once I lose some of the weight., they are awesome people. In addition to the Loritab script I was sent home with an Aciphex script which is not covered by my insurance so they told me just to get the prevacid instead. A Lovenox script I have to inject myself with that every day, piece of cake actually and I was worried about doing it and a Vitamin D script which is once a week for 4 weeks 50,000 units. Did anyone else get this? I wasn't aware they gave this and why. Tuesday I can move to full liquids and looking forward to it already. Then next Friday, the 13th I have an appt with my surgeon and he will let me know when I can progress to purees.
