    Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

I have turned over a new leaf. For the first time since my banding I have eaten at a potluck and not gorged myself to death. I feel satified and not uncomfortably stuffed. Now that is one heck of a NSV for me.

    Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

ok J, YOU KNOW what stress can do to us girls. You need to go for a massage!!! Get that stress out and let that weight go!!!! I was wondering where you were at today, good thing they got it fixed at work!!!!!J, ARE YOU WEIGHING DAILY?????? I would hope YOU ARE NOT!!! If you are, I am coming over there to take away the scales!!!! Personally I think your problem is stress!!! You know how it mess with your periods, so it can mess with your mind and your weight too!!! I think you probably have also gotten a bit a muscle gain from this last weekend!!! A pound or two maybe being built up, and now you are not going to see a drop on the scale but what about other nsv's???? How many of those do you see EVERYDAY!!!! Chin up girlie!! Oh, and I had my Vitamins, shake form, this morning, very very weird feeling. Then I had some minestrone Soup blenderized. About 1/4 c. Then just not interested. Then just now, I had about 1/2 c. refried Beans. This restriction thing sure is WEIRD feeling, compared to what I have been working with!!!! I think I might like it though, I was up to eating way more than two cups of food at a time, and snacking. SO, I do think it was my time. I just hope no more getting stuck episodes are in my near future!!!!

    Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

Hello my people. I didn't even think to put anything but my city and town on my ID. BTW, TX, they make medical ID charms you can add to a charm bracelet. However if you have more than a few issues I don't think they can get all the text on it! I'm not sure what a new rack costs but I'm probably going to be in the market for some too which is uber ironic because I had a breast reduction 5 years ago. But as I get smaller they are simply disappearing. My breasts are now smaller than my girlfriend's. That has never ever happened before in my life, and I've had a few girlfriends, most of whom would be called chesty. NSV? I'd say so. ZZ, You are so funny! I bet you keep people in stitches all the time! BG, The snow, the freaking mother effin' snow! What gives? Apparently is was snowing in Kalamzoo last night. That's just not okay. Ceradad, Cool ride. I have a Giant and love her. Welcome to the Bycyling thread. You will need to get abreveated to a one or two letter name. We have a C, so give us some choices. Happy Friday!
  4. I had the most amazing week last week...I had to go on a business trip to Atlanta which is where my boss and the rest of my department work. They had not seen me since October, so the last time I saw them I was about 10 lbs heavier than my starting weight. I wish I had a video of people's reactions to seeing me...it was priceless!! I also got to spend some time with my family and my in-laws while I was there and, with the exception of my parents, none of them had seen me since before surgery either. All in all, I got a HUGE dose of NSVs to tide me over when things get tough (including getting a size 18 pair of pants up and zipped - although they won't be making a public appearance until I have lost another 5-10 lbs)...and I lost 5.8 lbs while I was there as a bonus (not sure how that happened but I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth...LOL ).
  5. DH took me to dinner, then (WARNING NSV AHEAD)...HE TOOK ME TO VICTORIA'S SECRET, AND I FIT INTO THE CLOTHES. He bought me this sexy lil number, and meeee-yow!! check me out from before we left the house, compared to before we left the house on surgery day!!! This is so much fun!!!!!! stay tuned for the front pic...see next post...
  6. It's been over 9 months and I'm just now getting up the guts to post before and afters. Right now my scale is broken but I know I'm over 60 lost. I still have 100 to go but today I had a HUGE NSV. I went to buy some new carpi's for work and before surgery I wore 28's (tight) 30/32's. Today I grabbed a 26 and too big. 24...too BIG! I bought 22's!!!! I can't remember the last time that happened. It's been over 10 years since I fit 22's!!! My shirts are still bigger because I carry my weight around my mid section, but I can now shop for shirts at lane bryant again. Anyways, I figured it's time to post some pic's. I finally see a difference! Thanks to everyone for being so inspiring! Love you all! First pic was taken a few days prior to surgery and the second was taken tonight!

    January Bandsters???

Girls & Guys - just an FYI, getting up at 5 am to exercise is not fun. lol. I'm so tired these days, I must get some sleep tonight! Side note, I had to share a NSV - Or maybe its a scale victory. Anyhow, I went to my daughters parent teachers conferences, and one of her teachers came up to me and said "wow, I hate to be rude, or I hope i'm not being rude, but have you lost weight?" - this teacher has only seen me twice, and I felt good that she noticed. Anyhow, just went I start to feel down about my weight, I get a compliment that brings me back up on cloud 9. I have a question - have you guys noticed werid noises coming from your throat area? I am having all kinds of gurgle noises, weird. It doesn't happen all the time, but it woke me up last night doing it. I haven't had heart burn or anything, just weird noises coming from the inside......

WOW! I got my bike back from the shop and had to try it out! I just got back from a 15.12 mile Bike Ride!!!:whoo: 1 hour and 6 minutes... an average of 14.6 mph!:clap2: I only intended to go out for 4 or 5 miles... but I wasnt even winded. So, I thought ok 10 miles... got to 10 miles and wasn't even winded. So, I thought ok, 15 miles. I was still NOT winded at all! breathing well... and hyped up on adreniline BUT if it wasnt for the fact that it was getting tooo dark to ride safely. I could have just kept right on going!! I feel great. So, happy I got started on this. I LOVE my bike! ------------------ Next order of business, NSV -- OMG I had my first Cat Call tonight!! hahaha -- these guys saw me riding my bike -- as they came out of their apartment and totallly did "the whistle" and shouted some kind of "hey baby" comment at me. I was like, "what the hell!?!?" (then I started thinking) I ride in these little bitty short shorts and tank top... I never once thought about what I must look like up on that bike. Half my ass is probably exposed! :omg: i guess they got to see a whole lot of "leg." haha... and mamma must be looking better these days when she is riding around town! I laughed so hard when I figured out the whistling was directed at me! I almost fell off my bike. THAT would have been sexy! ------------- Claud -- well, at least you found a nice guy to spend the evening with... sound like you may want to give him a bit of a chance. I know your heart is in Chicago BUT this guy sounds awfully polite and nice. He would be great to spend time with and just enjoy yourself. BUT I know what you mean, when you heart lie somewhere else -- it is hard to even look at another person. Booboo -- YEAH!! for not killing the mother! haha -- I am glad she finally came around. That probably took alot for her to make that compliment. She seems like the type of person that would have had to swallow her pride to say that one. So, I know must have meant alot to you. Kudos on the tubing!! I was with my 5'2'' sexy as hell Hawaiian friend this weekend. She is GORGEOUS! and she is like "you want to go down to the pool?" I had to have looked at her like she was crazy! I havent been in a bathing suit in over 10 years! in a publice pool since I was 15 or 16! and here she is in all of her perfectly tanned and toned glory!! YEAH... um, that was NOT the day for me to try out sun bathing... I love her to death. Best person ever, but she is like Ms. Hawaiian Tropic... THAT would make anyone feel infearior. Steph -- yeah, I would let them have it too!! haha -- i dont put up with ANYONES crap anymore. or at least I try not to. I just cant handle it. Give 'em hell! I am glad to see you checking in more. I've missed you! Congrats on the awesome day! Make sure not to skip breakfast, it will put your metabolism in SLOW MO for the entire day. Ive been setting my alarm for 5am getting up eating my breakfast and then taking an hour power nap before I have to keep getting ready for work. It helps jump start my metabolism -- so I keep on burning up the food all day. Just an idea!! hehe about "the boinking" of the husband. you crack me up girl. You seem to have a very healthy happy relationsihp with your husband. that is good! Keeps you both young and um..... satisfied??? haha:heh: BabyGotBack! Hey chica! I keep up with you on the boards... I check up every few weeks to see how you are doing and how things are progressing :-) OF course we remember you! You are doing an awesome job with your band. I was plateaued for about 2 months. I've had to kick up the exercise HARDCORE to see results. But I think things are finally moving again! So good to hear from you!

    3 Month Update....

What a true inspiration you are!!!! I am right behind you. 7 weeks out tomorrow. I look forward to some of your NSV's that your have conquered! What an encouragement you are!!!!
  11. When I chose my screen name last year, I knew that I would live up to the name. I am literally a new person since my vsg on 12/2/11. The girl I was (i say girl, but im 33) was 266 lbs, unhappy, and beginning to go downhill healthwise. I started the process and it saved my life. If I had not, I would never have discovered and conquered severe sleep apnea and high blood pressure. This has been a complete life style change. I am down to 163 lbs. I hit exactly 166 on my surgiversary, which was amazing to me that I lost 100 lbs! I went from a tight 22 to an 8, 3xl to medium, heck my shoes even went from 8 1/2 to 7 1/2!! I will say that this wasn't always an easy road. It was hard to conquer my eating, portions, and "head hunger" in the beginning. The weight melted off the first six months, and after that every pound was work. I still have the motivation to keep going. My personal goal for me is 133, which would leave me at half the woman I was. I excercise with zumba and watch my carbs. I drink water and limit sugary drinks. Have I had bad days? Heck yeah, sometimes too many. But my motivation kicks in and I get back on track. I log my food and excersice when im focused lol. I will also say I hit a moment of depression around month 7 and 8. But sunny days came when I realized I am in control! My many nsvs include being able to ride amusement park rides with my kids, playing and running with them, wearing skinny jeans and if I say so myself looking darn good in them! I bought myself some beautiful leather boots just because they can zip up over my calves. My bro in law blurted to my mother in law behind my back that I look like a model! My mom didnt recognize me at the mall last week. My husband and kids are so proud of me, they loved me then and now. Last but not least, the biggest goal for me was to regain my self confidence. At the risk of sounding full of myself, I longed for the feeling I had when I was slimmer, the feeling of being able to walk into a room with my head held high and knowing I look damn good!! In essence, im not a new girl, I just got the old me back. And I will say im better than before because of my experience. I struggle at times with the attention, because I feel like I was human before this and people were mean. Ive been humbled by this and just thank the Man above for allowing me to go through all of this and appreciating every second, pound, and inch.

Where Are My April 2012 Sleevers?

Feeling fabulous & loving the new lease on life I have now. Achieved another one of my reasons for having his surgery last night, a wonder NSV. Attended Open House at my daughter's school for the first time in 2 years--I hadn't gone since I couldn't fit in the desks last time and had difficulty climbing the stairs and running around the building from class-to-class. Not only did I fit into the desks, but I lapped lots of parents running from one side of the school to the other. What a joyful moment when I realized what was going on!!!

steph hope you get to feeling better congrats on the nsv way to go claudia and other ladies this is my plan no snacking for the rest of this month. I am bad about snacking just a couple of bites of popcorn or candy and yesterday I decided to track my snacking calories where before I felt I could not be eating that much. before I was tracking the snacking I got in about 1000 calories so I tracked the snacking yesterday and up to 1400 with snacking. I about fainted. I have heard it takes two wks to change a habit so I will be scrapbooking when I get the urge to eat or snack I should say. If I can do this the rest of the month maybe I can make a new habit. I don't wanna say no snacking forever because then I will make myself feel sorry for me and eat a snack. I swear the mindgames we play. So claudia and all other bandsters let me be a lesson count those 5 wheathins in calories they add up. on to other news we have just gotten a support group for weight loss here in town not just for surgery weightloss but all kinds. It is a place that offers healthy shakes and snacks and support the ad says AA type meeting weekly but for weight loss thought that sounded neat may try it ... My scale is stalled but that is okay I Have four lbs so far this month

Hi Everyone! I'm enjoying my one and only weekend with NO homework so I decided to see what everyone was up to! bkwalling—Man, it sounds like you’ve been having a miserable time lately! I’m so glad your interview went well! I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you! As for me, the boss told me yesterday that my interview (for the job I’m already doing) went “very well” but they aren’t hiring anyone at this time because no one was “qualified.” Yes, that pretty much means that I’m chopped liver. Kind of like a mistress--good enough to fool around with but not good enough to marry. On a more positive note, the boss asked me to continue in the acting supervisory position through the summer. I’ll be done my administration degree by August, so hopefully I’ll be “good enough” for them by then… :faint: BooBooKitty—I think we ALL deserve more pay because we rock! StephC—Remember that some days are going to be better than others. Just get back on track and don’t beat yourself up too much! You are just about halfway through your weight loss—hang in there! :clap2: VABandster—Awesome job getting into those size 18 shorts! I tried on two sets of PJs today that were XL. They fit, but the material was a bit thin, so I didn’t get them. I was floating on a cloud that I could actually squeeze my keester into an outfit in the "regular" section of the store! Jill—You made it to onederland! I’m SO excited for you!! :wow2: beversman—What I wouldn’t do to go on a road trip right now! I’m so sick of doing homework! Your weight loss is INCREDIBLE! I’m so proud of you—what an accomplishment! :first: Kaydotrn—Glad to have you back! I’ve been among the missing myself. I made it through my 3 classes at the same time nightmare of the last 8 weeks! My next class doesn't start until next Thursday, so I thought I’d write to everyone. At least I’ll only have one class at a time and my internship to get done from now until the end of August. Way to go by the way on losing 50 pounds already! I was banded the day after you, and have only lost around 35 (maybe a little more by now). I really need to exercise some more—now that I won’t have classes 2-4 nights a week I’ll be able to be more dedicated like you! I guess I should just be happy I haven’t GAINED any weight. I sure would have in the old days before the band! :hungry: Nathalie—I’m glad you’re doing better after your rough patch! You’re an inspiration! Good job standing up to your mother—not an easy task! VABandster—The VA Tech. tragedy hit us hard in Hampton Roads as well. One of my classmates is a teacher in Smithfield, the hometown of one of the girls who died. One of my professors is an assistant superintendent in Hampton, VA, where another girl who died used to live. Working in the school system has been nerve-wracking, too. My son (a high school freshman) stayed home from school on April 20th because of rumors of a Columbine-style shooting. We had an interview for him at an alternative school in the morning (traditional high school sucks) and I decided to keep him home just in case. All of us at central office got a procedure for handling phoned-in bomb threats. Not a warm and happy feeling! My big NSV is that I had to buy new underwear and bras today because I was swimming in my old ones! I know, I really like to live it up! Woo-hoo! The only downer is that my body is turning into a giant blob of flabby jello! Do any of you feel this way? I don’t know if all of my fat is just loosening up so it can melt off, but I jiggle more now than I did 40 pounds ago! I don’t think I’m going near a bathing suit this summer. I hope my skin tightens up or I’m definitely going to need a date with a plastic surgeon! Or maybe I should move to Mauritania??? I think I’ll check out that “thedailyplate.com” website. I haven’t had the time to track calories—maybe now is a good time to try that out. I'll do my best to check in more often. Keep up the good work everyone! It's amazing how much we've all accomplished already!

STEPH...you think the scale not moving for 2 weeks is bad!!? Try 5 weeks! :-( I go next week for my 3rd fill and can't wait! Congrats on the NSV!!! That is awesome!!! Its weeks like this when my scale hasn't moved that I wonder if I'll ever get into those sizes, but I just have to keep the faith, right!? Sassy...I've never had numbing for my fills either, although I'm not sure how my new fill Dr. will do it next week, but I'll let ya know!

    January Bandsters???

Sunshine2-Good for you! How wonderful! I just love the band. shues138- What a wonderful NSV! That is great! I just wanted to check in with everyone. It has been 3 months and 2 days since I was banded and I have lost 38 pounds. I am addicted to exercising. I really love going to the gym and almost feel bad on days when I can't get there. Anyway I had my 2nd fill this past Thursday. I have a total of 1.5cc's in my 4 cc band. My doctor is on the conservative side, but as long as I keep losing, it's OK. I am very happy with the band. Have a good night- Gigi
  17. Gamergirl that is a wonderful NSV, so where are the pics?
  18. Congrats! I had my own NSV this morning. I put on a shirt that I haven't worn in over 7 years (yeah, I'm a pack rat, can't throw anything away) AND IT FIT!. **does happy dance for you** Keep Pimpin' that Sleeve!

Ugh..I was typing away and my power went out. I will make this quick. I hope the quietness here means everyone is out enjoying the Spring weather. I think it is hitting 70 here in Boston. GORGEOUS! What is nice is having lost most of this weight over the bundled up winter, means I am feeling so much better putting on those short sleeves and capri pants! There isn't that dread I usually feel in the spring of "shoot, I better hurry up and lose some weight before the summer comes!" You know, when you can't hide under big sweaters and coats. Not this year girls! Major NSV for us all..or at least those of us who have winter seasons. Have a wonderful day. Enjoy.

N E 1 been Banded at Mt. Carmel col, oh

:clap2::clap2:OMG Debbie you look wonderful!!! You and Lady are doing great! I know you have to feel like a million bucks. WTG with the NSV, it the greatest feeling when people notice all your hard work. Special K, girl you are moving right along in your journey. I feel like it is taking FOREVER.... its been 9 months so far! But there is an end in sight. Keep a jumpin'!! Lady, Heath is east of Columbus right between Newark and Buckeye Lake. Kind of like Reynoldsburg is between Pickerington and White hall, only closer. I can be at 256 in about 15 minutes (without lots of traffic) DH and I go to church in Reynoldsburg and it takes about 20 minutes to get there. BTW 50 lbs is amazing!!! :whoo: You guys really do inspire me and help me keep faith that this is gonna happen for me too. Sue, I feel you pain with the doctors. My psych eval was 500.00 and insurance didn't pay one red cent!!!! You would think after all the $ we pay into our insurance company that when we need something they would cover it. So when will you hear if you are approved or not??? I would think with sleep apnea that it would be a sure thing for getting approved. Hang in there my friend, we will get through this. Hey Dorothy! How are you doing? I hope you all have a blessed day!
  23. I'm wondering if I'm the only one in a "funk" at this point. Haven't dropped a pound in 4+ weeks. (Well...I have lost...up 2 down 2 a dozen times LOL) There are moments I have tinges of regret when I realize I got this far in WW in the past. Is this it? I should also point out that if this happened to me any other time I'd say screw it and open a bag of chips. That's not happening ! My "logical" brain kicks in and says to keep with the program. This stall will break. I've had more nsv's than I can recount. I try to focus on them, not the scale. I'm also dealing with a bone spur in my hip. Going to PT. But wouldn't be surprised if I'll need surgery on it. I really don't want another surgery. Grr. It's holding me back. I'm so happy for everyone's success. Hoping I can start posting more news about weight loss soon! Later losers! :-)

August post op sleevers: Check in

We'll today was all about the NSV's put on an outfit and DH looked at me and said your not going to wear that "your swimming in it" so off I went to closet shop, pulled out a large shirt and it fit, tried on a pair of 16 jeans and they fit too (started in XXL and 20's). Pulled out the measure tape and I've lost eight inches in my waist I am thankful for my sleeve and the support of my DH, DR, NUT and all of you.
