Trip to therapist today. P.S. Had an NSV this week at doctor's. The nurse used the regular blood pressure cuff on me without giving it a second thought AND it worked!!😊

WHERE ARE MY AUGUST 2021 PEEPS?
ColieCallwell replied to phenomenally_me's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Congratulations!!! I'm 9 weeks post op too! I've lost 47 pounds. It is AMAZING! I had my 2 month post op at my surgeon's last week and they were happy with my progress. I was a little discouraged because I stalled out for about a week, but my nutritionist reminded me of all the NSVs...I've stopped having to use my cpap, my feet don't ache anymore, I'm down from a size 18 to a size 12. I still want to lose about another 40 lbs, and the weight loss is moving much slower now. I really have to be more diligent. We had a Halloween party to go to yesterday, and it is HARD to navigate the food (and drink) table at a party! My husband and I were the only sober people there, lol. But it was still fun! I'm learning you don't need food and alcohol to have a good time. Sent from my SM-N976V using BariatricPal mobile app -
Hi Kathy, Great to see you again on the boards. I'm down about 25 lbs since June 6th. I am concentrating on the NSV and the other day I finally go into a size 22 jean. I was thrilled. Best of luck to our slow losers. We have to keep the faith.

Great NSVs Kathy! I have avoided everyone else's NSV lists till now cause I just didn't want to tackle my own LOL! Funny, but we have some of the same NSVs. I love the wedding ring NSV the best! As far as panties, try to find some hip huggers made for plus size women. I had the saggy panty butt too & they solved the problem for me. Keep em coming! You're doing great!

I got into the shower with hubby the other day. It was late afternoon, broad daylight, the kids were napping. I'm so wild!!!! I'd have NEVER done that a year ago. Certainly not 2 years ago at 240+. And it was 2 years ago around this time when I weighed 240+ and in tears and desperation went to Curves. They kept wanting me to make an appointment for measuring and training but I wanted IN!!! I couldn't wait to give them my money! Best thing I ever did. I got strong there, went on to another gym with childcare and got as healthy as I could be at 220. Then I got stuck, and a year ago started researching Lap Band, logged onto LBT and have been here ever since. See? I joined LBT in Jan 2005. Wow. My life has improved in so many ways this past year. I have more NSV's with pics to post...coming soon.

Kathy's Slow Loser NSV List
banded_for_life replied to the best me's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Congratulations Kathy!!! You wrote some inspiring NSV's! -
At my high weight of 242? or so, I was 40.3 BMI, morbidly obese. Surgery weight was 223. That's a 37.1 BMI, Severely Obese Today, Im 192.6, BMI of 32, that's Obese. My mini-goal is 188 for the Fall challenge, that will put me at 31.3 BMI, still Obese When I hit 180, I'll have a 30BMI, still obese. I will need to weigh 175 in order to be just overweight. Wait, isn't this an NSV thread? Arrggghhhh! I'm getting my threads mixed up!

Woohooo! They actually look smaller (to me) than 40D's when they are up where they belong and not dangling like tear-drop pendulums... so, another NSV. I keep having to adjust the driver seat in my old mini-van. I don't sit in the seat the same. I move it forward, back, up and down trying to get upright enough without cutting off the circulation in my lower legs. I think I finally got it, now if I can just avoid hitting the button on the side of the seat accidently and moving something. And the spill-spot on the part of my seatbelt that goes across the front of me has moved. It used to be in the center of my chest where spills happen, ya know, coffee, drippy burgers eaten on the run...now it's higher up because I need less belt to go across me! wooohooo!! Of course, now that I have adjusted the seat so much, it's hard to compare just how far it has moved, but I'll take it anyhow! NSV's are great!

Another NSV. I can't cook the same. I always like to have leftovers so DH can have a hot lunch if he comes home the next day or two, and I always like to have something cooked and handy, but I keep having to throw them away! Oh no! Hubby's not eating less, kiddos aren't either...I'm just not plowing through leftovers like I used to and it's beginning to become apparent where they all went before...ME! So I cook less food. Isn't that odd? I find that so odd, not sure why. Just one of those moments, I guess. While I'm here, I got my second fill last Wed (few days ago) and it's going well. I did liquids for a few days and then soft mushies and have been adding in regular foods a bit, and boy, oh...I feel it. Doc said I have 2cc now but I think he just filled me tight, then unfilled till the Water I was drinking went through and pulled out the needle. I don't think he has a clue how much went in. So I think it's helping and I may be headed into the 180's after all. Yay! Eating slow and careful now, and DH is on a week-long fishing trip so I'm cooking even less this week! I miss him already, he left this morning. OH! While I was at the doc's office, he siad, "...and when you get down to around 160 or so I'll do your tummy tuck" What? He's no plastic surgeon! Anyhow, he drew on my tummy and showed me what would go, holy moly!!! I took pics of the drawings. And I guess here's another NSV, maybe? My belly is looking really awful. Stretch marks, blubbery, flimsy skin, egads, it's ugly. I'm losing weight there and it's really getting bad, like what you would see on TV bad. ewww. so maybe it's not and NSV? The jury is out on that one. I'll see what my ugly belly drawings look like on the 'puter when I get them loaded and if they aren't God-awful, I'll post them. I hate to promise that...ewwww. Time for baths for the kiddos. Happy NSV's everyone!

Y'all did it......made me jealous, I wanna go to the pool party!! It just isn't fair!! Although I did have a good time last night. We have the county fair going on, and all the local, or at least local branches of the oilfield companies have a big BBQ cook off. With my DH, and our kids we had ties to 5 different groups!!! And of course Dad was competing hot & heavy against the kids and heaven help them if they called him for cooking advice or the girls wanted something for decorating, he gave them such grief!!! We had lots of fun, and ate lots of good food, you buy your plate, then you can sample any and all you want from all the different companies. They judge for bbq pork, bbq beef, ribs, side dishes, and booth decoration. Then they had the Fair Queens and her group polling to get a peoples choice as well. We did that, had lots of fun, then I took my grandson Connor to the carnival! The NSV here, is that not only did I fit into my adult size rides--and DID--I rode the Zipper again a first in 25 years! BUT I also fit to take Connor on the kiddie rides, he was so small he had to have an adult take him----and I fit! On these little planes, we were on, there were 2 girls in front of us, about 7ish. Into being the center of attention etc. So when the ride began they started screaming, and putting their hands in the air---like you do on a roller coaster. Well Connor thought that was the way to do---so he screamed and threw his hands in the air-------on everything!! Including the carousel!!! People laughed at him all night long, I had the best time!!! At one point, the kids were tearing down their booth, and my inlaws had left, and so Rick and I took Connor to the carnival by ourselves, was sooooooo nice, he behaved so much differently without his parents!!! Tomorrow night we are taking Kinsey----they had another work related thing to attend last night. Then she is spending the night, because I have to take my Dad to Albq. on Tuesday and our back up plan fell through last night as for a babysitter for her! Then on Wed. my son has hernia surgery. So it will be a busy week, if you don't hear from me. Trish, glad to hear Mom is improving. Hope your Dad decides to go, but places with lots of people can be really overwhelming to older people---and the thought of the bleachers might make him uneasy too, fear of falling. We just hosted the Connie Mack (HS age) World Series in our town, and we had an older man fall in the bleachers one night, and when I took the ice over, waiting for them to transport him--he kept saying, "I was afraid I was gonna fall, I am always afraid I am gonna fall" --- so your Dad isn't alone if he backs out of going. Betty, do you have an idea of a time frame now for surgery?? Sherry---we are going for a late afternoon, early evening ride today---we won't make 200 miles, no time for that. BUT Rick is off beginning on Tuesday, and I get to choose activity for the weekend (my birthday---MY choice!!) so I might choose to go somewhere cool-----into the mountains for my day!!!! Everyone else take care---Eileen it is the weekend---where ya at? Jessica, keep up the good work---Diane---take another nap & go back to Pats and have fun for ME!!!!! Y'all take care, I'll check in later!! Hugs~~ Kat

NSV shout outs
cindyslosingit replied to BobBayCityMI's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
When I went in for my last check up with my surgeon he asked me if he could use me on his web site to tell my story. I told him when I lose another 20 pounds since I wasn't done yet. And I've lost 5 more since that appointment. Best NSV for me to date! -
Those are great NSVs!!

Wowser, some of those I have acheived, some not yet, but a mini-NSV for me, noticing how the clothing suggestions grow so much at 18 or 20, it's like a Brand-new World to quote a Disney Song. Am really enjoying putting Pukey Green, Liver and Baby Poop Yellow prints behind me, and running towards both pastels and vibrant yet feminine shades. No more Good Enough for this Golden 🐤 chick!

NSV shout outs
Weighting2BeFree replied to BobBayCityMI's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I think the nsv are more important than the weigh ins. I was in Dillard's the other day and I found I fit in their plus sizes. I was too big for that before. I started crying with armfuls of clothes to try on. Its these things that make the journey worth it. Not the number on the scale. -

Yes, I'm Australian MVR. Bandsters are really ripped off at those all-you-can-eat places. I'm going for my 2nd fill tomorrow too. I'm sure I've put on weight but I always think that. Hopefully, I'll post back with a loss.. I have to remember that it's not a race and it's not a diet club. We won't start really losing until we're properly filled. I was fine the first few days after my first fill but then the restriction went away. I don't have high hopes for the 2nd fill. I'm thinking the 4th might be more realistic. So what's everyone else up to besides obsessing over weight? Any NSVs? ETA: Hair loss. I had an undiagnosed thyroid problem for several years. I used to have gorgeous hair but it thinned to the point of baldness along the part. Luckily I'm tall, so it goes unnoticed for the most part but it was really, really bad for a while. It started to grow back a little once my thyroid issues were corrected. I'm a blond but it grew back a brownish colour. It was really funny as it was never as long as the rest of my hair. I hope it doesn't drop out again now but I'll live if it does. My aunt has lost all her hair in chemo just now, so I have some perspective for the moment. Just want to say that it *can* grow back and you won't be bald for life.

My hair has finally gotten better about coming out and I honestly think it is due to the extreme conditioning I have been doing, since it is not coming out at the root but rather breaking off, I started really conditioning and hot oil treatments and it is really alot better. Just whats working for me, hope y'alls get better too, mine was so bad I was worried about bald spots but got it cut yesterday and my beautician said it is fine and the cut made it look so much healthier. I had a great NSV got into a size 12! I started at 22-24, I don't remember ever wearing a 12!

Hello, everyone! Some random thoughts: I had my suregery last Tuesday, the 9th, and today was the first day I felt hunger pangs. I made a can of low fat cream of chicken soup, thinking that since I was "ravenous" I could easily eat the can and once I got through about 10 spoonfuls I felt like I just ate a Thanksgiving dinner. How weird. On another note, I've lost 5 lbs. since the surgery, for a total of 15 lbs so far, and I've had my first NSV (non scale victory)... I went to get a maincure and the nail lady gasped when she saw me. She asked if I was on a diet and she said my face looked "so" thin. That was pretty awesome. I guess I'm still bloated from the surgery so my pants are tight, but apparently my face is thinning out, which is really nice. Last thing, for now. I ordered some of the clear, fruit flavored Isopure zero carb protein drinks - they taste like Gatorade or Vitamin Water - they have 40 grams of protein, no fat, no sugar and are 160 calories. So far, I like them all - a lot. Good protein alternative to the protein shakes if you're sick of the milkshake schtick. You can find them in GNC or have them shipped directly to you from the Isopure website, which I think was actually cheaper and there's a better selection. The grape frost reminds me of grape kool aid. Yum.

Just checking... haha! To start off this lovely Friday (well, not so lovely because I have to work), I will tell you of my latest NSV -- my old scrubs fit again! And they are loose! I also had a stress test (more on that later) on Wednesday, and I did pretty good! Better than I did a few years ago. Hope everyone has a good start to their weekend! Maria

Well right now I am wearning a size 20 pair of jeans. They are snug on me, but as loose as the 22s were getting, I decided it was better to go with snug for the moment. They aren't as tight as they were even a few days ago! I can sit in the comfortabley and so forth, so really not bad. Just snug. I think a few more pounds will help them get to that not snug spot. So I figure this is a good NSV! I can fit in smaller jeans!
