Hi 7s  I haven't been on since before Christmas and thought I'd come back because I "need" this group. You all help keep me in check and I've been lacking lately. Some of it is self pity, some of it not, but I'm tired of finding excuses so I'm here to get back on track again. Just before Christmas I was having some pain problems with my left breast. As you know I had a lift and implants in November. Well in early December one of the incisions under the breast opened a little. My surgeon stitched it up and put me on a week worth of antibiotics. Two days after that script ran out I was feeling some pain in my breast again. When I went to clean the area, I noticed there was a milky white discharge. The stitches were still in place but it was oozing from behind them. I didn't want to do anything wrong so I called my surgeon spoke with him about it. He asked if I was running a fever or if there was swelling or redness in my breasts, to which I said "no". So he told me to meet him at his office the following morning and not to eat anything after midnight just in case he needed to go in and take a look around to see what was happening. So Christmas Eve at 8am I'm in my surgeons office and he has his emergency team with him. He tells me he'll need to go in and take a look around and if he finds anything out of the ordinary, he'll have to remove the implant. This news upset me as I'd waited such a long time for them. Not only that, my mind was already tallying up how much this surgery was going to cost and how much it would cost me in the future to have it replaced. He told me if he did have to remove it, he'd only be removing the one and leaving the other there. The implant would still be under warranty so I wouldn't have to worry about the cost of that. At that point I was almost in tears because I was still worried about the addition costs; bringing him and his team out on a public holiday, the anesthesia, the post-op drugs, the follow-up surgery; everything was mounting up in my head. Then he told me the best news ever. It would all be done at no extra cost to me. I could have kissed him right then and there. After all the drama I've had to go through with the insurance company for my lap band surgery, (oh and I'm still having drama with that, but that's another story for another day) I couldn't believe what he was telling me. But I digress..... So he went in to see what was going on and it turns out I'd developed an infection. There was good news and bad news. The good news was he caught it early and there was minimal damage to my natural breast tissue. The bad news was he had to remove the implant and clean out a protein build-up that was causing the infection. So now I have 2 different sized breasts. It's been emotionally draining and if I'm honest, a lot harder to deal with physically than my lap band surgery. I've been very moody. I've had to keep in constant contact with my surgeon and visit him sometimes twice a week. He's been very protective, and while I certainly appreciate that, it's tiring have to visit him so often on top of trying to heal, trying to enjoy the holidays, trying to keep my eating in check, trying not to be a total biatch!!!! It's been a battle I've lost more often than I've won. My weight has been up and down. Thankfully it's not gone back into the 200's yet *touch wood*. I've been down to 194 and up to 198 and it's hard trying to keep out of the fridge and pantry when I haven't been able to head off to the gym and walk those thoughts off on the treadmill. But I got the all clear to exercise again yesterday and I've been able to get my gym fix (albeit a little more slowly) the past two days. I never ever thought I'd miss exercise! I guess that's a very unexpected NSV that I'm proud of. Anyway ladies, it's good to be back again and be able to get all my frustrations out. Thank you all. You're the best. :kiss2:

That's a great NSV! I'll find out tomorrow if I need a seat belt extender. We'll see. ;-p Husband is taking his computer. I'm not taking mine but I may still be able to check in on his. Have a good week everyone! -
steph hope you get to feeling better congrats on the nsv way to go claudia and other ladies this is my plan no snacking for the rest of this month. I am bad about snacking just a couple of bites of popcorn or candy and yesterday I decided to track my snacking calories where before I felt I could not be eating that much. before I was tracking the snacking I got in about 1000 calories so I tracked the snacking yesterday and up to 1400 with snacking. I about fainted. I have heard it takes two wks to change a habit so I will be scrapbooking when I get the urge to eat or snack I should say. If I can do this the rest of the month maybe I can make a new habit. I don't wanna say no snacking forever because then I will make myself feel sorry for me and eat a snack. I swear the mindgames we play. So claudia and all other bandsters let me be a lesson count those 5 wheathins in calories they add up. on to other news we have just gotten a support group for weight loss here in town not just for surgery weightloss but all kinds. It is a place that offers healthy shakes and snacks and support the ad says AA type meeting weekly but for weight loss thought that sounded neat may try it ... My scale is stalled but that is okay I Have four lbs so far this month

I've been doing the 5 day pouch test(finished yesterday) and haven't lost any weight, not even 1/2 a pound, granted it's TOM as well, so I'm not beating myself over it (last night, my last day i gave in to a glass of Rose and a piece of homemade wholemeal bread, the crusty bit dipped in aromatic olive oil ) So that wasn't a success for me, my own fault Yesterday afternoon however, we all went to the park, husband and 3 girls, and we had a blast! For the first time ever, I put my jogging bottoms on a sweatshirt, my trainers (sneakers) and felt really good about myself(I actually felt quite "cool" as opposed to fat, forty and frumpy) and I went on loads of "rides" with the girls. I've never done this before cause I always felt to old, fat, ugly . Yesterday I felt so young and carefree. My husband pointed out that I always used to just sit on a bench while they palyed. This is probably one of the best NSV in these five months since surgery. I am so happy (even though I cheated on my pouch test last night )

Hello my fellow bandsters. It is Sunday night about 11:30pm here. I am bushed but wanted to get on for a ew minutes and check in. I see everyone seems to be doing so well. CONGRATULATIONS!!! Auntie Phil- Sounds like you are staying busy with the grandkids. The game sounded likes lots of fun!! That was a perk huh? Lynette- doesn't it feel great when the pants start getting lose? Congrats!! Dini- I am sorry I missed your post before you left. Hope you have a wonderful time Kathybad- your family is beautiful. You are so blessed. Congrats on the court date!!!!! Dmjet- how is school going? My kids started last Wednesday and I am loving it. Everyone else congrats on all your progress!!! Well we had the 16th birthday party yesterday. I was so tired today that I did next to nothing. Folded a load of laundry and put it away and everyone ate leftovers. The party was a great success and my daughter had a wonderful time. Couldn't have asked for a better day. It was 74 degree's with slight humidity but it wasnt uncomfortable. REALLY NICE. My aunt and uncle came on their motorcycle that they just bought a trike package to put on the back. I got daring and asked them if I could drive it joking. They said 'yeah try it out you will love it.' I thought about it and I thought 'why not (besides the fact I don't have a license...LOL) Asked my DH to ride behind me and he asked 'are you serious' I said 'yeah lets go' We got on and he told me how to shift. I said ok and we took off. LOL I did fine and it was sooooo easy. I said to everyone when I got back 'if you can drive a stick shift car you can drive a motorcycle. LOL I don't kow if you all remember back to another post that I had made talking about how I am so afraid to ride behind my DH the last couple of years because I was afraid my weight would make his bike 'bottom out' LOL. Yesterday was a major NSV for me because I just figured I was gonna try it because I have lost some weight and damn it I have seen bigger people than me riding!!!! DH came in the house this afternoon and asked me to go for a bike ride with him. I think I may have started something. LOL I am finally off of my platea this past week.:whoo: I have lost 6 lbs this past week :biggrin1:(knock on wood. I hope it keeps up). Hope I haven't jinxed myself by saying (typing) it out loud. Well I am off to bed. Have lots to do tomorrow before going to work. Good 'nite all!!!

We went to church today. I think that after I get back from FL I am going to visit some other churches to see which one I like, and then we need to join one. Now that I've got the momentum to go, it's not hard to get up and participate in my own salvation. Yeah, I think I'll wait. I may even cancel tomorrow's date, just because I can. He hates being rejected, and it would be my pleasure to put him off for a while longer. Aside from that, I really may have to work tomorrow night. Big Wigs are coming into town and I'm in exec. mtgs Tues - Thurs. I forgot - NSV. On Friday I wore a pair of chinos and a fitted turtleneck to work. The nutso (lies to get attention) lady in the office said, "Nathalie, can I ask you a kind of personal question?" I nodded, and she goes, "Are you losing weight?" I smiled and said, "Just a little." She goes, "Yeah, I can tell." Then she launched into some lies about her husband having to fire some people and blah blah blah. But she did notice, and she's said more than anyone else in the office, except for the guy who interrupted me to say "Hey, you've lost weight. A LOTTA weight! WOW!" ahahah Like I was Jabba the Hut before. I just smiled and said "Thanks Rob." ahaha I wanted to kick him in his scrotum. I need to clean my room. *sigh* I also need to pack for my trip. I can't wait to go! We're flying, bk. That's a big ordeal in and of itself, thanks to my crazy baby boy. He doesn't like to sit still so we're going to be cramped onto that plane for a while. I hope he just sits there and STFU. bk why are you still throwing up? Call your doctor. Stay on liquids until you get that fixed. You should not be throwing up! VAB - good luck on your fill! I know you're ready for it! Sorry you're still feeling lousy. Being sick is absolutely no fun at all. Poor thing. I hope you feel better soon! Do what you need to do to make yourself feel better! Talk to yall later! Hope everyone is having a great day! Nat.

February 2019 weight loss buds
Goody222 replied to TheMarine79's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
So proud of you Gaby! Can you believe how far this group has come? I remember reading post of groups that were six months out and thinking, I hope I will be like that. Now here we are ... not quite six months but really successful. I did have a NSV...I went to see my hair stylist and she did not recognize me at first. c-r-a-z-y. The last time that happened to me, it was because I had gained so much weight. This time when it happened I was happy as opposed to beating myself up for letting myself get that size. So proud of us! -
February 2019 weight loss buds

I think, and I could be wrong, that NSV stands for non-surgical victory. -
I have been seeing the commercials on here in New Mexico as well. Yesterday I took my parents to get their eyes checked, and one come on in the waiting room. The girl sitting across from me with her Mom said "That's what I need". I told her I had it done 6 months ago. Her questions flew fast and furious!!! She and her Mom both, in fact Mom was willing to finance it for her. She took my # and said she would call to talk about it some more!!! And it was quite the NSV for me....I still have a lot of weight to lose, but the daughter told me she never would have thought I had been fat!!! I floated out of there on a cloud!!! Pumpkin, we all heal at different rates, I could have taken care of my granddaughter the next day without a problem, as it was I did have her the 3rd day on. I had a very easy surgery and recovery. I don't think they should make it sound like everyone can go back the next day. But I also would hate to see them make it sound like everyone has a 2-3 week recovery, when it may discourage them. Then again if they tried to fit all the information in, it would start sounding like those drug commercials that go on forever with all the possible side effects, they crack me up!!! Kat

Goldibluqq replied to china's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Stay strong China, it is a very hard time. I did have a nsv, last black friday, i bought a pair of jeans that I said would be my goal to be able to wear this christmas. Well, i got them on yesterday, they are tight, but they zip. So now have to get some belly off to fit good. Have a great day, Laurel -
My hair has finally gotten better about coming out and I honestly think it is due to the extreme conditioning I have been doing, since it is not coming out at the root but rather breaking off, I started really conditioning and hot oil treatments and it is really alot better. Just whats working for me, hope y'alls get better too, mine was so bad I was worried about bald spots but got it cut yesterday and my beautician said it is fine and the cut made it look so much healthier. I had a great NSV got into a size 12! I started at 22-24, I don't remember ever wearing a 12!

Good morning everybody! We decided very last minute to hop in the car a day early and drive 3 hours to my sister's place in Cadillac, MI. It's my nephew's birthday tomorrow so the whole family will be here. Of course, that means that I forgot to pack half of our stuff (including the birthday boys' present - oops!). My sister is having one of those McDonalds Playland parties and she invited everyone in Noah's kindergarden class. So far, 15 kids have RSVP'd, plus there are 7 cousins. Should be lots of fun (she said sarcastically). The good thing is, with all those kids no one will notice that I forgot to bring a present. Cindy, make sure that your laptop has a wireless card installed. Usually they're bundled with the computer, but not always. It's surprisingly easy to get onto a wireless network. Meaning, even I can do it so you can too. DH always travels with his laptop. You can pay to use the wireless network at the airport, so if his flight gets delayed he can camp out and work. I'm a little tired today... We stayed up late playing poker last night. After I paid off my hubbies losses I was up $55! Time for me to go professional I think, ROFL. I love gambling, which is why I only do it rarely. The last thing I need is a new addiction now that I've (hopefully) given the food addiction the boot. This weekend is going to be a challenge food wise. There are yummy things to eat everywhere I turn. DS is on her way home with doughnuts right now. Fortunately, I think I'd yak on a doughnut when I'm so tight in the morning, so I'm probably safe. I actually got in 3 workouts this past week! I've lost the 3 lbs that I gained back at the beginning of January. Woo hoo!! Sherry, isn't that the truth with the underwear? My DD (who is 2) was walking around with a pair of my undies on. Needless to say, it looked like she was wearing a dress, lol. I'm not sure how to size underwear, but I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with shoe size. Otherwise, I'd have some mighty big feet. Wearing cute underwear is an NSV that I'm really looking forward to. Patty, congrats on beating out that 21 year old! On the blood pressure thing, my sister tells the tech before they begin that they will have to take her BP twice. It's always high the first time and fine the second. I've done that too. I really hate the pain of having my arm squeezed (I'm really sensitive there and it leaves bruising), so I tense up. Try some deep breathing for a few minutes beforehand too. I had my annual stir-up exam yesterday. She said that my left breast feels strange and wants me to follow up with a boob doctor to have an exam. I'm assuming they're going to do a mammogram. I'm only 32, so I'm not overly worried (well, okay, I'm a little worried). I talked to my brother-in-law (who is a doc) and he agrees that it's probably just a consistency change due to weight loss. Of course, I wouldn't let him check it himself because that would just be weird, lol. Beanie, I hope your trip to NY is going well! I wish I could be there tomorrow to have coffee... If you're ever passing through MI for some reason, don't forget about me! Real estate is the one industry that hasn't suffered too badly here (though they say that's about to change for the worse). Pat, that's too bad about the office worker. I used to interview for my job too, and I hated it. I can see where you would worry about finding someone who would keep quiet about your financials. Privacy is important, and money brings up sooo many issues. Good luck finding your replacement so that you can go back to sewing your buttless chaps for Sturgis! ROFLMAO! Paula, good to see you - that pic is great! Spacey Chick, how are things? Sounds like you're looking forward to the weekend! How is everybody else doing? Happy Friday everyone!

How was your 5:2 day today?
CowgirlJane replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am proud of you "fasters"I think I have only had one fast day all month. Had a fairly awesome NSV. might post on a public forum and just link back here. -
I'm so sorry! How are you feeling after the weekend? Hang in there. She's going in tomorrow AM. I'll let y'all know. I'm pretty sure it's arthritis. She's about 40lbs and we think 1/2 chow and 1/2 spitz. Having been abused as a pup, we also don't know what that might've done to her physically while she was in her growing stage. I know! But I HAD to get some stuff done that day. I was trying to get us out of town at a decent time on Friday! Whoo Hoo! Nice bike!! Love all of the above! The only one I have is a big truck! '99 Chevy, full-size, 3/4 ton, 454, crew cab, 4 wheel drive, 6 inch lift, 35 inch tires on 16.5 inch rims. I had to put sissy steps on it so I could get into it! LOL! Oh and it's dark blue, my fav color! Rant away. I don't understand it either. I'm pretty sure she's better off tho. Good kid. His birth father didn't deserve him! I'm glad you're feeling better! I'm planning on going this year. I'm finally feeling like I won't hurt the horse! My mom rides at a stable near her and DD's been begging to ride so I think we're going to try to do it this summer. Little scary tho! I haven't been on a horse in 20 years! And she was a bitch mare and hard to ride! Good for you!! WTG Fanny! Oh no! I've had chicken pox twice and have been told that I'm now MORE susceptible to Shingles!! I'm so sorry and I sure hope you're feeling better soon! Totally agree! I've got almost 2 acres that Tap can come play in if she wants! LOL! I agree, you end up losing the entire family, not just the parent. UGH! Hate packing! Best wishes on getting that done as quickly and easily as possible! Sounds like you had a nice break on the bike tho! Keep taking those times as often as you can! Great that her sister stays in contact. That's wonderful! I think the trip sounds great and DD would enjoy it! What a great story! Glad he decided to go and ended up connecting with y'all again! I'm sure it's great for him too. UGH! I hate those stories too! So Wrong!! I sure hope DD decides to get in, and stay in, touch with you guys. I hate organizing! I like to BE organized but hate making it happen! LOL! Life IS good! Glad you had such a nice weekend! Good for DD! I don't understand those commercials for the armed forces that have the parents and kids "talking" about it but the parents are hesitant. I know it can be dangerous, there are wars but I guess I just don't get it. 'Course, I'm married to a fireman, he was Air Guard when we met, I've been involved in the Sheriff's Dept and thought about becoming a deputy, involved in EMS, dad served in the Navy, etc. so maybe I just look at things differently. I guess I'm used to the serving country/community, etc thing. How was the movie? I had a sitter all lined up for this afternoon so we could go see Wolverine but DH is down in Santa Barbara on the fire so alas, no movie today! Gotta love the belly shots! NOT!!! PJTP: Went to my mom's again this weekend. Came home completely exhausted! I went to sleep last night and didn't wake up once! That NEVER happens! I usually have to visit the potty at least once a night! Or DD wakes up or dreams or whatever but she was totally out too! Saturday we went to Kohl's b/c I needed to look for a new swimsuit. Yuck! Well, I found a cute one, skirted tankini, 40% off and it was a size 16!!!! Last year's suit was a 20 or 22, can't remember now. Huge NSV! It's really cute too. Before surgery I normally would've gone right up to an 18 b/c it is a little snug but it's fine and will be even better as the summer goes along. My mom bought this: BOB Sport Utility Stroller at REI.com for me for Mother's Day! They were having an anniversary sale that ended yesterday and I needed a new/better stroller for my walks but just couldn't swing even the sale price right now. I was just going to save money til I could buy it but now don't have too! I couldn't believe she did that! Such a surprise! It's wonderful too! So nice on my walks now! Easy to maneuver and goes great over our gravel driveway and rough dirt roads, etc! Well, I gotta get. Gonna lose battery power soon and it's time for lunch! TTFN!

Cool...I never knew you were in N.O. I never got to go before the hurricane and so wished I had. I was living in Pensacola during Katrina and got the hurricane end of it. Hubby's uncle lives in Gulfport/Biloxi area and we went back for a visit in Dec. Things are still tore up there. Is N.O. starting to get back to normal then? I am a nurse and wanted so bad to go to N.O. to help but with my name I couldn't bring myself to do it. We got lots of patients from there shipped in to our hospital and their reaction was so horrific when I would walk in and write my name on the board that I nearly started going by my middle name. So I never went. We had enough problems ourselves trying to run a hospital without water and electricity for days afterwards. But by that time we had become pro's since Katrina was our 4th big storm in a year. Needless to say, that was all the reason I needed to move back to my home in Tn. No hurricanes can make it across these mountains. You have lots of fun at Mardi Gras this year! OK...I have an announcement Drum Roll Please (tadatada) I hit Onderland today!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yay me!!!!! Yippee!!!! Can't you tell I'm excited. Haven't seen that "1" since 1993. Wow...14 years ago. Now, grant it, I am .2 lb away from fluxuating back up to that horrible "2" but I won't let that bother me. Oh, I found the neatest place yesterday. I refuse to pay big prices for clothing while I am loosing and my big clothes just fall off of me now so I am always looking for some "temp" clothing. I was driving home yesterday and passed a new Thrift store and just out of curiosity, decided to check it out. Most Thrift stores don't have very good quality clothing so I did not have my hopes up but I walked in and went "WOW" This store was filled with brand name, many brand new, style clothing that believe it or not was mostly in my size. Can you believe that? I am talking about in style, georgous outfits. Could you imagine walking into a store that carried just your size? There was, of course other sizes but the majority of the clothing was my size. That was soooo cool. And I am talking about beautiful suits and things for 11 bucks or less. I wracked up...Bought $76 worth of things and the lady owner was so excited when she found out that I had a band. She questioned me the whole time I was there and even gave me some of the things. Is that a NSV? I would never have been able to wear any of that clothing before..... You ladies have a wonderful weekend. LIFE IS GOOD!!!

Linda - You are such a wonderful person for all the community work you do.. How's the mentoring of that girl?? How's the spanish going? Congrats on the NSV (and yes it was) that's pretty cool and nice that DH asked you - don't know if he gives you props often - but that was one imho -------------------------------------------------------------- Good Morning Gang I got my packing done last night - do you know that this whole liquid crap in a QUART size bag - OMG - I don't know how the expect a WOMAN to get all her makeup (face mascara lipsticks eyeliner)- hairspray - gel - lotions - wrinkle creams - eye cream - deodorant - toothpaste - shampoo - perfume all in that little bag. (Yes gang I am a makeup junkie - beauty junkie) Yes I know that this rule is only for carryon - but I am just going for the weekend have a small bad no need to check - this is just a dumb rule imho.. My quart bag is stuffed - I hope they don't make me throw stuff away.. Well, plan on going to the gym in a bit - since I won't get to exercise tomorrow - but I am not as addicted to it as our darling Karri - I am sorta tired this morning - went to bed around 11:30 last nite up at 6 so hopefully this coffee kicks in. Sorta getting nervous about this weekend - I really don't know anyone and we have a whole group who knows each other coming from KS - I will do fine I know it - but you guys would never ever believe this I am a little on the shy side.. I know that I don't come across that way - but that's my cover up - I play like I am the confident women - but really inside I am a 2 yr old.. Also here is another interesting fact about me that you wouldn't know - I am an introvert - yes me - after all this play like a grown up - I am going to be wiped out.. And again - it's the whole thing about still being a fat chick in my head - But I will plug forward and over come these issues - I do practice what I preach - Fake it til you Make it :w00t: Well - it's 7 need to get my butt in gear - well maybe another cup of coffee - I have to leave here around 10:30 -11 to get to airport by 11:30 - plane leaves at 1 - this whole thing about getting to airport to sit around for 2 hrs - again stupid... P S airport isn't big and this time of yr shouldn't be busy - but this was the first place that made me take my thong sandals off - ya right like I had a bomb in them OMG I am turning the news off - stock market tumbles - gas $7 - this is the reason that everything is such a mess - if the news would report positive stuff then maybe things would be at least a little more positive and not so negative ... OK - going to get dressed - will cbl:tongue: If I don't - I love you all - will miss you guys (will go thru withdrawls 2 day without lbt)

Hi friends. Happy Easter to those who Celebrate. Funny NSV yesterday. I was walking with a friend and the wind was gusting. A few times, I nearly was blown off my feet. Didn't have this problem at 267 lbs. but at 115, well that's another story. My poor friend had to hold onto me once or twice so I wouldn't go flying off.
