8AM - Peach light and fit greek yogurt 10AM - Chomps Italiano Beef Stick 12PM: Leftover spinach salad with a small bit of chicken, roasted red pepper, pepperjack cheese, and sriracha ranch I'm feeling a bit off today (a little queasy, thanks likely to the MOM I took last night), so probably won't have anything again until after the gym tonight. I do usually have a 2 or 3PM snack and then dinner after the gym. -

So wild! I'm still thinking it's the sugar alcohols though? Maybe the cottage cheese and yogurts use different sweeteners? That's just terrible though. Gah, I hate that feeling! -

That's the weirdest thing. I eat yogurt and cottage cheese daily totally fine. I can have nonfat milk fine. But any whey protein shakes or whey protein snacks cause those dumping symptoms. I don't know if there's something in actual milk products that is soothing and prevents it and when the whey itself is isolated out/concentrated it hurts me but it's been like that since surgery, which is why I could only use soy shakes. No clue. I always get soooooo sweaty and flushed and usually vomit. -

Your doctor doesn't allow thinned down lump free yogurt? It's the same texture as frozen protein ice cream...call and ask. -
Is cream cheese a no no?

If you're the one making it, check out Greek yogurt cream cheese. It's delicious and a lot more protein/less fat. -
Can I dump 2 hours after?
2Bsmaller18 replied to Mrs. Hayes's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
When I eat fruit I try to eat a little yogurt or 2 pieces of walnut with it so I have protein and fat mixed with the carbs. If I rarely eat fruit by itself it's only 1 strawberry or a 1/4 cup of blueberries. -

Intermittent Fasting Daily Menu/Results/Accountability
GB in CA replied to FluffyChix's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I've been fasting from 8pm to 12pm. A typical day for me could include a banana and peanut butter for lunch, greek yogurt for snack. Something like 3oz pork loin for dinner with 1/3 cup Brussels sprouts. A protein drink after work out, some almonds for a snack. If I'm really needing a dessert (usually PMS cravings) I'll have a frozen strawberry pop. Another day I might have whatever meat and veggie is leftover from dinner for lunch but the rest stays about the same. Other snacks I may change out are cheese or hummus. Should I add in a day or 2 of low protein days? On my non-weight lifting days. Or try a couple of OMADs? -
August 2019 Check In
kristieshannon replied to Azlanie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved 8/12, went home the next day. I ran a fever ever day through Friday, which has now resolved. First 3 days I was taking two naps a day. Now I’ve been 2 days with no naps. I’m sleeping well at night. Pain is now minimal, still a bit in my right shoulder. Lots of gas, well relieved with gas-x. Last 3 days my intake has been: B: 1/2 Dannon Light & Fit yogurt + 1/2 Premier protein shake ( takes about an hour to get this in) L: other 1/2 of yogurt & shake S: 1/2 Premier protein shake D: other 1/2 protein shake + 4 oz protein broth or protein tomato soup I’m getting in about 50 oz if water per day 1 more week of full liquids before I get advanced to a soft food diet. I’m up to about 7000 steps/ day I’ve got 2 more weeks of work off, will go back after Labor Day -
So, my coworker's brother had gastric bypass a few days after I did. Same office, different surgeon. This was 10 months ago almost. He is STILL not eating solid foods. He tried eating a few things, but he got sick, so now he has a food aversion and only eats jello and yogurt. On top of that, he has become an alcoholic. He had blood in his stool and a local doctor thought it was his colon, but then he woke up one night covered in blood. He went to the local hospital (not the one where our surgeon's are), and lost 3 pints of blood due to a bleeding ulcer in his pouch. He drinks a bottle of whiskey a day and also drinks beer. He looks GREY. He has lost nearly 300lbs in the last 10 months alone. He has not told our bariatric clinic about any of this. They don't know about the ulcer, or his drinking, or that he still isn't eating solid food. He is literally going to die. His family hasn't contacted the bariatric clinic either. I don't know this guy - only what my coworker has shared. She says that every day he tells her he regrets what he has done, but is ashamed to contact the bariatric surgeon because they are going to tell him to stop drinking and he doesn't want to. His family has been unable to get him to see anyone about the drinking. Should I make a call to my bariatric office and just be like "hey, I know you can't confirm or deny that this guy is a patient but so and so had surgery on this date with this doctor and this has happened... maybe just make a call to him as a casual "checkup"" in hopes that that will trigger him opening up to get help?

SEPTEMBER 2018 SURGERIES AND SUCCESS
Frustr8 replied to Frustr8's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Yeah I do value honesty, even if it is not happy news, be straight with me, don't make me feel it is not all my fault- GOD in Heaven knows I have tried- I wanted to become a Model Patient- somebody that people could point out and say " She's such a success, I feel inspired to now carry on MYSELF!" and perhaps there is someone somewhere that feels THAT WAY , I'm not aware of any. And one of the definitions of model is "An imitation of the real thing". Oh I will Survive. this, I have vanquished many other things in my lifetime. Today I have hunger/ pain, I eat something, never very much because if I try to increase my portion size it hurts until Precious Pouch reflexes up emesis. So i take in a Small amount, never enough to feel good, maybe I will never have such a feeling again, and then 1-1.5 hours the hunger type pain has returned, I give it protein shake or Greek yogurt, if other fluids fail to satisfy, really don't desire mentally anything, nothing sounds good, few things taste good, restraint I expected but revulsion? Nope never booked that in! And those who do comment say "My oh My You look good! " Makes a body wonder - was I THAT disgusting before? And my neck , face and upper chest look so bony and thin- I fear I Am suffering from "Failure To Thrive" and nobody cares enough to notice. Maybe I truly merely look thin never been there before so no standard of comparison. And the people who were blind to me before are too deaf to really listen. to what I am trying to say. I would stop taking my meds, vitamins and minerals, but they May Just be keeping me going, let alone prolonging my life. If that Shannon thought I was depressed in May 2019, she should seen me the spring before, when Surgeon# 1 kicked me to the curb, told his staff to tell me I was mentally and emotionally deficient and totally unworthy of surgery, now THAT WAS DEPRESSION time for ME, but even then , I was not actively plotting suicide, what would have been the use? I was believing I was such a screw-up I couldn't even get THAT right. I just wanted to die passively, would not lift a hand to do ANYTHING. And it took so so much to even attempt to continue seeking my surgery, I was very fortunate to find Ohio State and Dr Needleman and that they not only gave me a chance, they seemed to believe in Me so I once again could believe in Me. That may be why this indifference and ignoring of Me hurts me so much. I. thought They always were There for Me. But I will surmount what I cannot CHANGE, internally my body will not function as it once did, BMs every day, being able to swallow and have food stay DOWN. Yeah, I did have a high calorie count, Might have even binged but I could eat, taste and know I was ALIVE, now the Brand- New ME was worth the pain , poor inefficent healing and sorrows, did I PAY TOO MUCH just to be thin? I gained the World only to lose a lot of my Me-ness , although in theory , a bypass can be reversed, I won't seek it. 1) I do not want to regain back again. and more importantly I still would feel flawed internally. I gotta go forward because backward isn't an option EITHER. And yes, having put this all down has given me some shred of peace- so I will continue on and my end will be victorious SOMEHOW. PROMISE!!!! -
At what stage can i have ground turkey?
Midnightsun replied to BlueAngelEyes's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don’t eat beef so I use ground turkey for everything. The lettuce I would leave out for a while but you can have ground turkey at soft foods. I had many of my usual recipes with ground turkey. Turkey chili, turkey taco meat in a soft flour wrap etc. I am not a person that rarely purchases premodern foods but I did buy the precooked grilled fajitas chicken from Sams or aldi as they are great for throwing a little bit in microwave with a slice of cheese. Or microwave till cooked. Put on a flour tortilla with cheese and put in the air fryer till cheese melted. I buy the small flour tortillas and don’t eat it all in one sitting. It’s still soft and so good to have real food. I also use the little slider buns for lunch meat or grilled chicken and usually share the last bites with my dog. As he is loving my surgery. Lol. I am six weeks out from surgery tomorrow and honestly it doesn’t feel like I had surgery. I just eat less and no complications. Only issue is if I don’t eat something later in the evening I can wake up from being so hungry. So I usually have a yogurt or shake in the evening. -

Ok, so I'm trying chia seeds to see if my guts are behaving after taking a little break this week. I have a current love affair with "yogurt chia pudding" of any flavor profile. But this current one is peanut butter slim powder with strawberries and cream PP + Greek yogurt (plain) and chia seeds. Mix it all up, let it sit until chia swells into delicious crunches and enjoy. Bought some Reese's Reddiwhip with great hopes and was sadly disappointed so now am just trying to use it up. It works here...Love this! I don't anticipate survivors, but this is very much like a pbj sammich minus the bread! Totals 183cals; 19g protein; 7g fat; 12g carbs; 5g fiber; (7g net carbs); 4g sugar -
Any August 2019 people out there?

I’ve seen some hospital webpages say only clear liquids for up to 2 weeks after the sleeve! My surgeon said clear liquids the first 2 days, then full liquids starting on day 3 if I can tolerate it. Nonfat Greek yogurt is the thickest full liquid on the list of full liquids. I’ve been eating the Greek yogurt since day 3 and it stays down. Takes me about 3-4 minutes to eat a 5oz container. -

Yes, you can put it in just about anything. I haven't tried it in eggs (there is a good protein balance in eggs already) yet but I have put it in ricotta bake/soup and didn't get a bad taste. Triple zero yogurt has about 16 grams of protein as well as 20 grams of protein in premier clear drinks. I have a good supply of that now. There is a buffalo chicken dip/avocado & spinach dip I love at Publix's I intend to eat a little of during the mush stage that has about 7/9 grams of protein as well. I have been scoping out different items for past 3 months. Make a green smoothie and add protein powder!! That's a great source of protein with spinach, a few frozen berries & hemp seed for energy! Keep us posted with your progress love ; ) -

CONGRATS to you on the 29 pound drop!! AWESOME! As for the protein intake, try putting some protein powder into your yogurts, cottage cheese and soups (attach is brand I use). I also purchased several broths, soups on this site that included a good bit of protein. I'm sure more sleevers will offer other suggestions shortly. Keep losing and I will be joining you soon!!!! -

Feeling hungrier. I put some light whipped cream on jello, but my stomach didn't like it. I'm guessing because of all the air in the whipped cream. Still living on yogurt, protein shakes, and Gatorade Zero. I've tried broth a couple times, but hot liquids just don't taste good to me right now. -
I begin my pre op diet next Thursday. This is all great information. Thanks so much for sharing. Is anyone allowed to have greek yogurt?

I came home last night (8/15) and showered. Now adjusting to life again. Sip sip sip is right! I thought I would be so stoked for something other than liquids...so far no desire for food or liquid of any kind! I am hoping to try thinned yogurt in the morning.
