  1. There will ALWAYS be someone thinner, making you feel like a cow. I remember being 125 pounds in high school being jealous of my extra skinny mini friend. We're never pleased with ourselves. Be happy that you can wear cute clothes, ride rides at an amusement park and reach your backside to clean it! hahaha...TMI??? Remember where you were, not where you 'could be.' YOU HAVE CONQUERED!!!!! HOOOO AAAAHHH!!!!!

    Just a little advice.

I am back on it now. But when I was off of it, my esophogus would burn also. Everything kind of burned. Also, here is a TMI-I had diarrhea that was just straight stomach acid. It was extremely painful and I don't wish it upon my worst enemy. I will not be going off it any time soon!

    Embarrassed to ask but.....

A couple of weeks, here. TMI?
  5. I’ve had very dark green almost black very sticky bowel movements since my surgery on Nov 17 Talked to surgeon yesterday he said sounds like old blood from surgery and didn’t seemed to be concerned. I asked him when should I be concerned and he said if it doesn’t clear up by one more week. Anybody else have this issue? How long did yours last?
  6. But does anyone else notice that their body odor has changed? My underarms smells different after being sleeved. Probably TMI, but it's just something ive noticed. I mean, I shower like I always have, every day. But my underarms seems to smell a bit funky now. Not cool.
  7. Has anyone else had problems with constipation after surgery? I am 15 days post op and have only had 2 bms that needed help with enema's etc. I am still on a full liquid diet for another 6 days. I have stopped drinking milk, yogurt, and am trying to avoid anything with carrot juice or cooked carrots in it because they are constipating. Do you think it is the Protein supplement? I am going to try some prune juice this afternoon, but do you know of anything else I could do? I hope when I can eat some food this may resolve itsself because I can eat veggies then. Does anyone have any suggestions?:help:

    Omg it's that time again.

I know I complained about this before. And this may be a little tmi, but I'm pmsing again. I'm tired and want to eat everything I see. Not to mention I have to go see my personal trainer. Oh well I just need to vent.
  9. So I am about 2.5 weeks post op and over the weekend I have been itching all over my body. My forearms, legs, neck, even groin (sorry, I know it is tmi). I have a rash on my neck but I don't see a rash anywhere else. I just itch intensely. I'm getting well over 64 oz of fluid. My lips are also a little swollen and I have bumps on the bottom lip. I thought it might be a Coldstream but it isn't presenting like one. No constriction of airway or throat. So it doesn't seem to be anaphylaxis. Anyone else have these issues post op? I've got a call into my surgeon's office bit thought I would ask here as well. Thank you for any input!

oh my goodness! Milk is NOT my friend! i added a few ounces to my cream soup (which i'm not really allowed to have - the soup that is) and about 4 hours later, I was doubled over in pain!! :bored: gas cramps!!! (sorry for the TMI!!!)

    Slimes!

once it happens you are doomed for about 45 mins! Stay close to a bathroom or garbage can! I have had it happen 5 times, and once I ate breakfast and went to a meeting and ended running out of the meeting with a slime ball coming up into my hand! It was horrifying! Sometimes it would be quick and I would toss up one slimer, but once I slimed up slime like 5 times. (Sorry if TMI) :drool5: Luckily you find out your triggers (like not chewing well enough for me, and I have to steer clear of Subway flat bread) and it happens less and less the further out you get.
  12. So I'm down from 337 to 196. And that's been great. But there are constant adjustments. Some of these adjustments are... awkward. This is straight up male TMI info coming up so you have been warned. For instance, my entire adult life, my uh, business, let's call it, fit into underwear and pants a certain way, and sat a certain way. It was weird enough when I had to switch sizes on underwear over and over, then switch styles, finally settling on medium sized Adidas boxer briefs that manage to keep everything where I'm used to/comfortable with it, even without the help of a bunch of excess body fat pushing it outward... while I am standing anyway. But the latest thing--and I am truly sorry for bringing this up, but where the heck else am I going to talk about this?--is that it turns out that the change in my body shape now means I am sitting on my family jewels. Well, not on them, but they rest on the chair/seat now. OK, well not on the chair, but resting much lower than I am accustomed, such they they feel like they are. They used to sort of rest on my fat/splayed out thighs. This is truly weird and I'm still not used to it. It's making me think I need to find another kind of underwear again.
  13. hey there! been healing away. since i am now one week post op, thought i would give an update!!! was doing well overall with lots of soreness and some actual pain. had trouble getting liquids for about three days but finally am doing a lot better. (did about 23-28 oz those three days sipping as much as i could… then have been increasing since) was burping with every single sip for three days. also had issues with gas pains that would randomly come on and feel like my sternum would rip in half. moving makes such a big difference !!! i Tuesday and wednesday i started to have a lot of pain/tugging and difficulty with my main incision … the bruising around it spread like deep healing bruises do and i think that was part of the issue. it also felt like a hard lump under the incision area there. i talked to my surgeon and said that was all normal and just keep at it as long as i didn’t get fever over 100 or it started getting red… this morning it feels a lot better, but still hurts… big victory for today is that i can sit and stand more comfortably than the last two days!!! i was finally able to “go” 5 days po.. no real problem but had the runs yesterday… i know, tmi but it’s what we go through zero real hunger and no real desire to even drink but doing it because I have to … i am only down 4.4 lbs so far (actually went up for the two days i was in acute pain this week) … but i am ok with that because my body is healing and know that is more important during this first healing stages… i am wary about going back to work next week part time. know i am going to be slow and really take it easy… i should be fine but know how doing nothing exhausts me lol (i am in bed before 830 every night… used to be 11 easy) hows everyone else in the early stages of post op????
  14. So just want to see if anyone had a problem with this but I LOVE pickles! They were my favorite snack before surgery and my NUT said I can’t have a actual pickle yet but a dill pickle snow cone is fine. Problem is it gave me some serious bathroom issues like Went down fine but 20 minutes later I was having “never trust a fart” issues. What the actual heck caused that because I seriously didn’t think that would be a issue and neither did my NUT. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’m almost 4 weeks post op and on my second stage of soft foods (fish, deli meat, stuff like that). Sorry for the TMI but I’m seriously confused on what the deal was.

    Day 5 Post-Op

Hi Bandits, This is day five and so far so good. I'm not in much pain, not hungary so far and I have been able to do all of my business, (TMI) I know, I know- I plan on starting my 30 minutes of exercise on tomorrow and I will do my weekly weigh in's 1 week from my surgery date of 4/24/2012.
  16. I'm three months out and this cycle has been two weeks of brown paste. Tmi. Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app
  17. One and a half days of Protein shakes, one day of clears and then SURGERY! I am so ready. I'm sure I will be a nervous wreck in the holding room, but I'm hoping for a little chemical help with that. I have lost about 15 pounds since I started the liquid diet. According to my scale this morning I lost 7 pounds in 24 hours, which is very hard to believe. I have done very well after the first two days, but I have noticed yesterday that my energy level has started to bottom out. I can see why they only do this for two weeks. Your body couldn't handle it for much longer. After the first couple days I also got to where I could see and smell food without it bothering me. TMI, but all the protein is giving me constipation. I'm going, but it's not too pleasant. I think I'm plenty hydrated because my urine is almost clear. I guess it's just the change in what I usually eat. My stomach hurts too. Not badly just kind of annoyingly. I figure if I can survive these two weeks with my large, insanely stretched stomach, I should be able to handle it fine for a couple of weeks after surgery. On week 3 I can at least start pureeing some Soups and stuff to get a flavor other than "sickly sweet." It's really great to have all this support here and to have so many people going through EXACTLY what I am right now.

    Digestive Help

Hey all, Not to sound nasty or TMI, but I have a serious question and wonder if you guys can help. I don't seem to be going to the bathroom enough... I'm not constipated per say, but it seems to me that it would be a lot healthier if I went more often. Before surgery, I didn't go to the bathroom terribly often.. maybe once a day or every other day... but now it's seemed to stretch out even more. I try to eat more Fiber, but I'm wondering if there are any supplements or anything else that would be recommended. I'm losing steadily, and I'm wondering if my digestive tract was functioning better if this would be a boost to my weight loss and over all health. Any suggestions or thoughts would be much appreciated! :smile2:
  19. I'm day 4 post-op and I suddenly have a bad upset stomach. I feel like all the liquids is going in and back out... TMI sorry but I'm wondering if anyone else has had trouble with an upset stomach right after surgery.
  20. TMI for Sure. But i need some advice from my fellow sleevers. I was sleeved April 2012. I have had bouts of constipation here and there. But. Nothing like what I am dealing with now. I have been taking miralax for about a week now and have been able to go some. Yesterday I did an enema and within 30 seconds I had to go& it was all watery. I did another enemy today. Went right away again and watery as well. I am so bloated & my abdomen hurts. I'm so nauseous & I feel like there is more to come out. But. Nothing Else is coming out. Any suggestions?? Is this common? Do I call my doctor?

    PCOS/Endometriosis

Fellow PCOS’er here too... I’m only 6 weeks post op but I’ve had two periods so far. I had not had one in 18 months, then one week into my pre op diet I started. It wasn’t too bad. Then 36 days later I started again. This time, holy hell...it was like a damn broke loose. TMI. I called the doctor it freaked me out. I bled less/clots after having multiple kids! They said it was totally normal and it’s just the crazy hormones. I am hoping for more symptom relief as time goes on!
  22. Hi, I just had my surgery on 10.16.12 so I am about 5 weeks out. It was a blessing that I did not have anyone telling what to buy as I would have spent it on things I did not need. However saying this I have purchased some food items as I move along. The ONLY thing I would get is a small fork, knife, and spoon. Buy some cheap baby spoons. I bought the use and toss but don't toss just wash them in the dishwasher. I also purchase small custard bowls. You can't drink and eat at the same time so maybe you should not buy small glasses. Okay You have desert plates, your little spoons and a small set of utencils. That was all I needed. I call it my Barbie dinnerware. Because you do not drink a 1/2 hour before and after I would suggest you use a regular glass but REMEMBER to SIP, SIP,SIP! No big hits of fluid. I found it very uncomfortable to take a large drink of liquid. So I sip all day long. I check my skin to make sure I am not dehydrated, and watch the color of your urine. If it is dark you are dehydrated. Urine should be almost clear if not a very pale yellow. Maybe this is TMI. I wish you well, and no matter what you will be pleased with your choice. Take care Dorian from New Mexico USA!!!
  23. August 5 now I'm starting to get scared. Actually freaking out a bit. Last week was the my last NUT until after and she said I was HPYLORI positive. They scared the hell out of me because she said I might have to wait 6 weeks to have the surgery. She called my Dr. and he said it was fine to just put me on antibiotics until the surgery. I know he said it was OK but now my anxciety is kicking in and I'm questioning it. Should I wait or is this my excuse because I'm starting to freak out. Also this is a post-op question. I've been reading about the constipation after surgery. Sorry if this is TMI but I've suffered from this my whole life. I was wondering can we take Probiotics after surgery and does it help? Promise the pre-op pics will come soon just trying to get the nerve up. Love this site can't get enough, Lori

    Another band problem.

Warning - may be TMI - I had food poisoning once when I was young. I threw up continuously for a week. Once I emptied my stomach of all food and liquid, I graduated to black throw up. It looked like asshes and Water to me, then on to yellow stuff that looked like Chinese mustard. I was told that the black and yellow stuff was the lining of my stomach and bile (sp?). I think if you were throwing up blood it would be RED, not black. Black blood is blood that has been in the intestinal tract for a long time. For instance if you were passing black stool, it would be possible that you have an ulcer high in the intestines, if you pass red blood in stool, probably a roid. Not sure if this info is helpful, but it's all I've got. Let us know what the doc tells you. Hope you're feeling better and don't leave there without a perscription for anti-nausea meds.
  25. Without giving TMI, not only did I spew, but I was trapped in the bathroom for an HOUR. I ate a meringue with cream and the effect was immediate!!! Never again.
