Well into my pre op liquid diet

Sorry for TMI, but the constipation is what’s completely killing me. I’m very committed to this liquid diet and have been journaling and keeping my eye on the prize for sure. But this pain is awful. I bought some Colace and smooth move tea praying it helps. Thank you so much for your words of encouragement. This process will be worth it.
  2. Just got my PICO ( a mini-drain) dicontinued after 2 months of a minor surgery that my stupid General Surgeon ( although I do hate so bad- mouthing another female) boogered up- left me with a distended upper arm with a non- healing surgical wound distended with blood clots- my theory? She failed to ligate a teeny blood vessel and it kept drip- drip- dripping under the skin. 1.5 kudney- basins full of clots and tunnelling both directions for 5 cm under the skin surface and raised up like a "breast implant" Sorry for the TMI but that WAS what it most resembled. Surgery was September 24th and after weekly PICO changes I am FREE on November 13th- whew-ee. Frightening that Ms Inept MD. also does Bariatric SURGERY but Praise GOD above , Not Mine! So drains do perform a purpose, if needed They Are Good but Many Many people escape THEM- if you do emerge from the OR with one they do speed up healing well. Had a Jackson- Pratt with my last open Abdominal- not my Bariatric- except for a little wider scar THERE it was GOOD FOR ME and speeded healing up! So Good Luck, a Smooth SURGERY and may yOu Always heal by" First Intention" healing from the Inside Out like my Last little SURGERY- The Pits- and IT STILL us a little sore there after nearly 2 months. And no sympathy from anybody because it was an ELECTIVE ONE.
  3. My BM just liquid sorry TMI (well like dark green) kinda like a babys first time i guess since technically our stomach is brand new with RNY lol

    6. Nature - I think what I love most about it is watching life in action from the cycles of the season to seeing living things going about their business whether it's an insect, bird, or squirrel. All of it works for me. And yes, I love water and am not happy when I'm not near some. 7. Hard to choose any one book. Maybe one of my first ones that turned me into a reader. There was Island of the Blue Dolphins, The Trumpeter Swan, and The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. On the food challenge...did well on Tuesday, nearly made it through yesterday but had 1/2 a candy bar last night. On another note, I just gave up daily coffee today...I was drinking it to support regularity but way too much sugar and since I stopped taking biotin, no problem with regularity. So...I know, tmi.

    Well this is about Sex

Greetings, I had the gastric sleeve on June 17th, and overall its going pretty well. I do have something that is becoming a bit of a problem. Since I can anonymity on here, I thought I'd ask. How is the sex drive guys? Mine is 1000 x increased. I begin every morning with some with my wife, I masturbate at least 2 x during the day, sometimes 3 (thank goodness I work from home), and at night we have sex. So on average that is 4x a day. Part of me is like this was better than when I was 16, 30 years ago. However, it is becoming a bit consuming. Anyone else have this issue? Is this normal? Does it last (I'm kind of hoping not to be honest)? Thanks. Sorry if it is TMI but it isn't something I really want to bring up with the nurse practitioner.

    pain and walking

Exactly! You said a mouthful!!! I just want to be normal. we are hardly "eating" any calories, so we're tired from that. Then add the pain (and TMI, I got my period a few days ago, so through that on there). Thankful I have everyone on here to gripe to, LOL. I know my husband is sympathetic, but he can't fully understand (I'm glad he doesn't have to go through this).
  7. Hi All, So I had my gastric sleeve surgery October 28th. I'm back at work today, but I'm still walking in so much pain, by the large incision site and in my back. Note that (TMI ahead) I also got my period. When I walk, there is a nagging awful pain by my incision site. Did anyone else have this? I didn't really want to go back to work today, but I don't want to lose all of my vacation time (I used my own time, because I was told you'll only need a week and all that). Did anyone else take longer to heal than others? I expected to be up and running so much faster that I feel like a wuss. Please tell me I'm not the only one.
  8. Hi all. So glad i found this forum.. I had my sleeve done on the 22nd October 2 weeks today. My incisions have all healed up pretty well but i have this nagging dull pain under my left boob (Sorry TMI). I cant wear a bra as it makes the pain worst and it knocks me for 6. It seems to be 1 particular incision site thats causing the pain and its the largest incision site too. I get out of breath from both pain and "little activity" ( have a 20month old so take that as you will lol) Is this normal??

    november sleeve

I forgot one important thing. For most of the day, I was very hungry. I was not really prepared for that. The staff told me it was very normal. I just woke up (TMI warning) and urinated 300 ccs which hopefully will get me an early discharge. As I write this, I am physically very hungry. Granted, I haven't eaten any solid food in a few days. Not sure how I'll feel about this in a few days, but for right now, I'm really looking forward to some broth this morning. Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app

MY SURGERY AND HOSPITAL STORY :)

I was born with kidney issues so they wanted to be sure my meds would work so made me stay the weekend... I was ready to go Friday lol Its weird like I feel when I take medication and the pills go down but I can drink a lot of fluids maybe a 600ml bottle every couple hours... I've always drank a lot due to my kidneys and this is only half as much as normal unlike some ppl talking about struggling to drink 1 bottle a day??? I still take smaller drinks per mouthful but not like I expected only to take 100ml(4oz) an hour...? I'm always thirsty and I'm still on liquids so have my shakes plus I carry bottle of water with me to drink.. It might be due to my surgeon doing slightly larger stomach before the bypass? **Sorry TMI but my first poos were greeeny black lol**

    Lower body lift APPROVED!

Yes. I had a few things, documentation from my bariatric surgeon, documentation from my OBGYN (sorry if TMI but my loose skin was causing irritation in my public region), documentation from my primary where I had 2 yeast infections inside my belly button due to the skin fold. I had visits spanning from about 5+ months before I decided to see a plastic surgeon.

    Weight going up

Weight fluctuations happen. I bounce from 129 to 133 throughout the week. Also, not to be too TMI, but the best time to weigh is naked, in the morning, after you poop. LOL
  13. Sorry if TMI, but who else can I ask? Doing protein shakes and was so happy to finally that delicious premier protein drink you guys recommended , except about thirty minutes after at work I had to run to the bathroom ... this didn’t happen when I tried it yesterday. Never happens with Bariatric advantage... happened a couple times with other drinks like quest and iconic protein. As you can tell my dr didn’t give me much of a pre or post op consultation . Also what is “dumping “
  14. Definitely not tmi, we all need to hear the good and the bad lol. Thanks!
  15. I had surgery on Wednesday 10/23, have been doing good so far. Today was the worst and it wasn’t that bad. Took one pain pill today. I stayed one night in the hospital and have been doing good sipping liquids. Sometimes, especially at first swallowing hurt in my stomach, not my throat. Now it only slightly hurts if I sip too much too often. I have not been hungry at all. I know that might change when the swelling goes down, but I like not being hungry. So far so good! Also, probably TMI but I wish I would’ve waited on the stool softener. They offered me two in the hospital and I took them. Went a lot yesterday and being a big girl it was harder to get clean and very uncomfortable. Lol I obviously got clean but it wasn’t pleasant. Wish I would have waited a few days.
  16. Hope it’s not tmi but it’s been six days and I do t even feel an urge ...

    FUPA

That is part of a panniculectomy, removing the apron of skin plus it can be a requirement for insurance to cover. My ins. wanted pics that showed the pannis hanging below the pubic area. And.....not tmi, most people have a pannis after losing a ton of weight

    FUPA

Ok so sorry if tmi but does anybody else have an obese FUPA( fat upper pubic area) I mean my va jay jay might look like a chubby alien I dunno. Oh well it doesn't seem to bother my husband any I just wish I had an attractive vagina not some juhbba the hutt lookin lifeform down there lol. Does anyone know if the skin removal aka panni covers that pubic area too? I plan on making an appointment soon as I'm 3+yrs post op RNY with a baby in between so I'm ready to get rid of this extra skin! Also any tips to help get insurance to cover just a panni? I'm pretty sure mine won't cover arns, breasts or anything else but a panni(and hopefully FUPA is a good start) Thanks in advance! Sent from my SM-J737P using BariatricPal mobile app

    Over this preop diet

As everyone has said, vent away. If we can't vent to each other, then what good is the forum? I've been on a liquid diet before, for colonoscopy. It was no fun. Of course, they give you stuff to drink to get you all cleaned out, but still. My butt was sore for several days from all the time spent on the toilet. Sorry TMI. I hope you get through it all right, @Emily Jane. Wishing you the best!

    Need Some Help!

I was having terrible constipation at about nine weeks as well, and I occasionally went 5 or 6 days without a BM. I could still eat, but I found that I had little appetite and couldn't eat as much when I was so backed up. This may be TMI, but I used an enema each time it had been three days or longer, and that always did the trick for me.

So the light colored stool is fat? TMI but often mine is greenish or paler but the high dose multivitamins affects it too.

    PreOP Diet

Day 6: Good morning all. I woke up again feeling that migraine trying to take over, so I decided I'm going to give my body a little break today. I know it is in shock from going from eating all that wonderful unhealthy and healthy foods to absolutely no food at all. That is A LOT to go through especially when you are sick already and have to take medication on the regular. I'm glad I decided to start two weeks out rather than wait until Thursday this upcoming week per my doctor's orders, because now I know what my body can and cannot handle. So on Monday, I will definitely have a conversation with him to find out what can I do about this, if anything at all. I may just have to suffer through the headache, but Lord knows I'm not ready for that. So today, I have started off with my coffee as usual, a scrambled egg with a teaspoon of grape jelly and a cup of orange juice. I have to say I haven't felt this satieated with my band completely empty EVER!!!!!! I actually LOVE this feeling. Sometime between now and noon, I am going to eat a banana. I have to get my extra potassium in as I definitely take my multivitamins everyday. I am going to do liquids for lunch and for supper, I think I may have some boiled shrimp and a little lettuce and tomato salad. I have drank some detox tea for the past couple of days to help with this process, and I finally excreted this morning. It wasn't as much as I hoped for, but something is better than nothing. I do think I'm going to have to take a laxative as I know there's more that needs to come out. I know this maybe a little TMI, but I have to share the whole journey and not part because I want others to know you're not alone in this journey. So I do hope I'm encouraging someone out there. 🍁 OCT 2019 CHALLENGE 🍁

B-sided reply it's a tie between cauliflower which seems easier on my cranky Precious Pouch than the Rest of the Cabbage family and, brace yourself- Collard and other greens except Turnip ones- never could abide the veggie or its greens - YUCKY POO to the MAX! Used to ❤fresh baby green peas, but the skins of it and sweet corn, a moment on the lips but FOREVER in my diverticular pockets, ate sweet corn once and passed little reminders for 4 days straight. Yeah, TMI but just my testimony today!
  24. I know that those of use who have had a big drinking night in earlier years...and/or had kids...has encountered projectile vomiting. Tonight, that isn't exactly what happened...but it scared me enough to make me feel I need to ask about it. I had 3 oz's of shredded pork (have eaten past 2 days, no prob). This time I added about 8 small pieces of salad to it and had about 1 TBSP of dressing. (Have not had dressing really for a while, nor have I had pieces of salad). I knew after 2 bites...that all was not well with my pouch. I've had plenty of foamies and what I call mini-vomiting sessions but nothing prepared me for this...turn away now as TMI is coming!! I threw up everything I had eaten...had intermittent foamies going on too...then it felt like pouch was making 1 more push to upchuck everything although there was hardly anything left. As I felt pouch start to clench/spasm to force whatever TINY thing that was left, my whole upper body starting from both shoulders and across my chest actually locked up and shook with extreme force of the last amount that was expelled from my pouch. I have never ever ever had a vomiting episode make me feel like my arms were being pulled from my sockets. I almost felt like it was a hard core seizing...I could feel an overall upper body spasm and truth be told, especially in the shoulder and chest area, I felt so much stunning pain, that I was literally afraid as much as my upper body was seized tightly...that I may break something. I know this has to sound completely NUTS! The pain was so bad I could feel my vision starting to dim. I don't know if my esophagus spasmed at the same time as the pouch but whatever it was...it scared me even more than the days I've mentioned in other posts where I've been in so much pain I lay in bed day and night curled in a fetal position..crying off and on. I'm praying someone has some idea of what I'm talking about.
  25. Yes, I have seen the nutritionist. I do chew and eat slowly. I can soft scramble an egg and eat at 8AM and late after noon some of the egg still comes up. I also have problems with liquids at time. I try not to drink a lot before eating and wait a while after eating. I've stopped drinking the protein shakes because they apparently sit in the little pocket and sour. I know that when I have the surgery I will go through different stages of food and I know they want me to have the protein shakes. That's why I stopped trying to get them down. I'm afraid I'm going to turn myself against them and won't be able to stomach them when I need them to heal from the surgery. I live in a very small city. My GI doctor said there wasn't a surgeon in our area that he would feel comfortable sending me to because I am a high risk patient. I have other medical issues. He referred me to a larger hospital that's a teaching hospital and they agreed I needed to be converted, but none were willing to do the surgery. The larger hospital is over an hour away. They referred me to Mayo Clinic and they are over 1000 miles away. I have had multiple EGD's, manometry test, Barrium Swallows, Acid test, etc. Mayo repaired my hernia and diaphragm a few months back and we were hoping that would do the trick, but I continued to throw up. Mayo did the same test again and when I did the Barrium Swallows it shows the liquid spontaneously coming back up. The EGD shows the pocket that's formed in my sleeve. Basically, some food trickles down, but a lot of it backs up in the pocket and then it has no where to go, but to come back up. TMI, but I've actually had food coming back up through my nose and throat. I can't remember when I've eaten something and it not come right back up or several hours later. We have spent thousands of dollars out of our pocket to pay for the trips to the different hospitals and for test that weren't covered by my insurance. The airline tickets and motels are several thousand dollars each time we go to the Mayo Clinic. I'm 63, but will be eligible for Medicare on 12/1/19. My current insurance will not cover the revision because I was self pay 12 years ago. I didn't have their insurance at that time, but they said that doesn't matter. They even said that if I was eligible for the revision I would still have to follow the 7 month protocol for the WLS. I can't afford to lose anymore weight and my doctor nor I can not understand why they would even say that. I could probably fight them in court, but to be honest with you I feel like I'm running out of time. My state does not offer Medicare Supplements for people under 65. Therefore, I will be paying my Medicare deductibles and the 20% out of my pocket. So, I have nerves about all of our retirement going out the window and then I'm scared to death to have the surgery, but scared not to have it. I'm sure I've repeated a lot of what I've already written. I hope all goes well with you and you can resolve your problem without surgery. I wish I could.
