All prerequisites done - likely Dec 2019!
loridee11 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my psych appt today and she indicated no concerns. Met with the nurse and all medical tests are done and good. Now back to the surgeon to sign off and then schedule. They told me it could take up to 2 weeks to hear back but an early December appt is likely. Anyone else looking at first or second week of December? Lori -

DS surgery date set for November 18, 2019 but insurance denied me
ColoradoCanuck posted a topic in Duodenal Switch Surgery Forum
Did my classes, scheduled a date (I'm a teacher, doc said he deeply appreciated teachers and military and wanted to book around my schedule). But then I was denied by my insurance. I'm guessing my employer plan doesn't cover it. I'm hoping my surgeon can appeal on my behalf. I have a BMI in the mid 40's with comorbidities. I'm excited, and nervous. My school is going to let me take almost 2.5 months off to recover and figure out my new lifestyle. Sent from my Pixel 3 using BariatricPal mobile app -
Hello to anyone out there who is reading this. it has been 11 years since my gastric bypass and wow! I was reading my past entries things have certainly changed for me. I had the weight problem, lost about 90lbs, became an alcoholic, got divorced, remarried, moved to Houston, then back to Atlanta, became born again, through the peace and grace of Jesus Christ!, traveled monthly to RI to check on my parents, lost my brother and father in 2019, relapsed with alcohol several times, as of today I have been sober for 2 years!~~~~WHEW! So now I am married to Michael White, someone I have loved for over 30 years, I am living sober, grieving the loss of my brother, Chip 01/09/2019 and my Dad, Ray 09/06/2019. As for the weight, I am now 208lbs and not really happy at this weight, but Thank God it's not 275! The most important part of my journey is that I became a Christian, I would have been dead by now if I had not done that. I feel okay today, some days are difficult because I do not drink alcohol anymore, so I have to depend on God through everything...opps gotta run....

Hi guys. Tomorrow will be three weeks post op and I’m sad to say, I’ve only lost 10 lbs. I don’t understand it. I hardly eat anything. I’m averaging 500-600 calories a day and getting all of my protein in. What am I doing wrong? I feel I should be loosing more. Ive been stuck at 220 for almost a week and I’m at my wits end. I’m not even eating solid foods. I’m worried that I won’t get to my goal weight by the time my stomach starts to stretch out. Any advice?

SISSYJ posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello to everyone . I got okayed this week for my gastric sleeve surgery....scheduled for Oct 28, 2019......I have some wish washy feelings going on right now....I have lost 14 lbs on my own since I started talking to Dr about this surgery the first of July....Same Dr. took out my gall bladder on June 17, 2019. so I popped the question of sleeve surgery to him and it has been a journey toward this goal every since....So looking forward to it and getting my life back again...I have been bouncing around 200 lb all of my adult life. I am 79 years old and didn't even think it possible to get approved because of my age....so glad I was approved....anyhow I retired and got married and also moved from NC to Ga. all at the same time....11 years ago....that is when the weight started piling on...I had gotten up to 267 lbs and now I weigh 253 lb. Would love to hear from anyone that would like to share pre-op and post op tips.....and how to eat after the initial post op liquid diet.....thank you all and looking forward to hearing from anyone...SissyJ -

Stomach pain 10 weeks post Gastric bypass
Frank_underwood posted a topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I had my MGB on July 15 , and recovery went well for a while , first 4 weeks were solid free weeks , i introduced solids slowly after Steaks and burgers give me a very hard time so i stayed away from them. By hard time i mean stabbing and colic pain in my stomach right above the umbilicus and to the left I am now getting the same severe colic pain on a daily basis despite being careful with the solids , only soups , salads , and chicken , no meat I also get severe pains if i stay a long time without eating , especially in the morning if i dont eat breakfast right after waking up I do take some gasix , and some gaviscon , it helps a bit but not much I am not doing well on hydrating , some days are good some arent Any idea if this pain is normal first few months post surgery ? Anything in particular should i take or do , thank you very much in advance for your thoughts -
