    almost everyone, sleeve or bypass, has their first stall within the first month after surgery. We call it "the three week stall" because it usually happens during week 3, but not always. Mine was weeks 2 and 3. Lost nothing. Then during week 4, I dropped like 6-8 lbs practically overnight. Do a search on the three week stall and you'll find HUNDREDS of posts on it. Just stick to your program and the stall will break. I promise.

    Hey peeps ,I’m curious and wondering about the whole process on how this also changes our metabolism has anyone studied tht ? Like I heard tht this sleeve also does metabolic changes in our bodies as well? So far so good I haven’t had a stall other then the three week stall, but I’m finding tht I still can only eat about five bites and I’m done and I guess this is what I’m supposed to be eating because I’m losing weight but since I have started eating I’m not getting near my water intake so stay thirsty ,and also I have never been a tea drinker and now I crave it I dk if it is cause I’m tired of water or if it is the caffeine ( I was a six pack of diet cokes or Pepsi before ) and I’m craving tacos like no other but I found tht I can do a taco salad and satisfy tht ,what are some of ur cravings and what do u try and eat instead ?

    dont look at the scale every day, its really bad and can be discouraging. i learned this when i got my three week stall. i know i average about 1.5 pounds loss a day now. calories are nothing to worry about if you follow what you are supposed to eat. 3 oz worth of protein 4 times a day so i can meet the 60 grams of protein. main diet is skinless and boneless chicken breast, low fat lean ground turkey, and low sodium beans.

  10. re: weight loss, You usually come home from the hospital weighing more than you did when you went in because they pump you full of fluids during your surgery. It takes a few days to get all that water out of your system. Secondly, almost everyone has their first stall right out of the gate - as in within the first month. They call it "the three week stall" because it's usually the third week out, but not always. Mine was weeks 2 and 3. Once I hit week four, it broke and I dropped like 6-8 lbs within a couple of days. Just keep following your program and the weight will start coming off. I should add that not everyone drops 30 lbs the first month - in fact, I've been hanging around bariatric sites long enough to know that that seems to be the exception rather than the rule. I lost 16 lbs the first month. I was a slow loser practically the whole time and ended up losing over 200 lbs. Just stick with your program and it'll happen - whether fast or slow!

I've got a notoriously unreliable cycle (think "on 3 weeks, off 1 week, on 1 week, off 7 weeks, on 2 weeks, off one OH JUST KIDDING on five weeks..."), but it's been calming the hell down over the past few years. According to the app that desperately tries to keep up, I should've started two days ago. And yet... here we are. And I'm usually not one to scale-watch, but two pounds up after a three-week stall just feels mean. Cranky! Bored! God, I'm in quite the mood, aren't I?

  13. Sounds like the dreaded three week stall!! Happened to me and many people I've read had the same experience. Google it, there is tons of info! My third week was actually a GAIN [emoji30]. Then lost nothing the next week, and finally picked back up again. Your body is just adjusting. Follow the plan for food/protein and portion sizes. It helped me to watch YouTube videos of people who had their stalls and then look at their most current videos. They were all still successful. Was nice to see and made me feel better! Hang in there.   14. You guys! Im on a three week stall with the scale jumping up and down! IDK what to do! Please help. I havent lost any weight for almost three weeks. I hardly eat and I drink a ton of water. When I do eat its usually a spoon full of food; and its usually rice and a meat with veggies. Im much more active then I was before but not as active as id like to be. Any advice will be helpful!   15. a majority of people experience their first stall about three weeks after surgery (search for "the three week stall" (it even has a name!)). The first month or so is also when you'll typically see your biggest losses, after that, your 2.2 lbs a week thing is pretty common. Just stick to your plan and the weight will come off. After the first month, I lost about 10-12 lbs a month for awhile (and once I was about six or seven months out, it came off even slower). But I've lost over 200 lbs in total, so it does work as long as you stick to your program.

    Non scale victory

    The dreaded three week stall. Just stick to your plan. My three week stall lasted a frustrating three weeks, but many only stall for a few days to a week. It’s completely normal and you are doing the right thing by focusing on inches! 😀

    Help not losing

    there are people who lose 30 lbs in the first month, but I would say after hanging out on WLS forums for the last 4 years that a majority of us don't. 15-25 lbs the first month seems a lot more common (and weight loss slows down a lot after the first month or two). Eleven pounds in the first two weeks is great. I lost 16 lbs the entire first MONTH, and I've lost over 200 lbs. Just follow your plan and the weight will come off. Also - do a search for the three week stall - many of us have our first stall at about the three week point - you may be getting into that.

    Not loosing weight and feeling helpless

    Talk to your nutritionist or bariatric team. They can help you sort out a good menu and give you some advice for getting things moving again. The three week stall is so legendary and typical, it has several threads here if you search. Hang in there and try to be patient. You're not alone and it will be ok.
  22. Been on a three week stall but I am happy to announce that I finally took a 40 minute walk with no back aches, no joint pain and no chub rub!!!! Woohoo! Also, I am happy to announce the official return of my ankles. I officially have transitioned from Cankleville. God is good and all victories are accepted here. 😊

    Am I eating enough.

    I recommend loggin your food in myfitnesspal, so you can track calories, carbs, protein, fats. My surgeon tracks almost 2000 patients. A year after surgery, most are still eating under 1000 calories a day. They are healthy (some need just vitamins, some also need folic acid and B12 supplements). Did you put on weight at surgery time? Often people do and it takes a bit to shed that. And many many people have a ‘three week stall’ where the weight loss slows at the 3 week (but can me 6 or 8 or 10 week) mark. Stick to your programme. At first blush your eating sounds fine at this point - you can’t help but lose. Are you walking? That helps too...
  24. I finally broke through 250 after a three week stall. I started doing keto and going to the gym 3 times a week. My workout: 20 minute Cardio (I try to do at least a mile) Dynamic Stretches (bear crawls, frog jumps, inch worm) Strength training (squats, lunges and all arm exercises are weighted.) Another 20 minutes are cardio (my second mile) Stretch and go home My workout is never the same. Maybe download the Nike fit app great workouts for all levels on there.

    I guess I’m regretting a little...

    I think most of us have been there. And, when WE were, we were like, “Moan...groan...three week stall...why so slow....blah...blah...blah.” And, no kidding, many of us felt this way whether we were losing a little bit of weight or a metric butt ton. You folks seem to be doing so well! There should be a drop down for all of us about these commonly aired first few week’s issues and feelings. Because the feelings and concerns are valid. You’re going through it and it matters as much as any other issue. Here are a few things i’ve learned along the way: First, If you follow your plan, things work out for almost everyone on their own timeline. Second, The scale will stand still at times even when you are following your plan. That doesn’t mean your body isn’t changing in a positive manner. A scale doesn’t measure inches, only pounds. Third, Nothing...NOTHING good comes from comparing your progress to another’s. Even if you are the exact height and weight. Each body has a different set of variables and the comparison thing is maddening. You’ll go bonkers trying to set your progress using someone else’s gauges. Just go with your rhythm, don’t sweat the pace, and live each day fully. Don’t miss the experience because you’re worrying about whether you’re on track. If you are following your plan, you’re on YOUR track just as you should be...going your speed. (Here’s something else I think we forget sometimes...You are the only person to whom you are accountable, the only person you can let down, the only person who can be “cheated on” in this venture. Make your choices accordingly. Respect yourself, give yourself the best possible chance and you’ll get the best possible results nearly every time.) Peace
