Menstrual Cycle. I'm aware things are thing to be way messed up and getting back together due to my weight loss but I'm starting to think I've got a problem. I was on my period going into surgery...no big deal they got me through it but I've been on my period SINCE my surgery December 6th. Ive got light days and ive got heavy days. I don't have insurance so I'm going to get some insight here first. I will call my sleeve doctor but I know they will refer me to a obgyn. Yuck idk but I gotta figure this out and fast!!

Nikki, I thought you were doing well. What's has changed for you? Are you still tracking what you eat? Sometimes it helps to go back to basics. But how much have you gained. I gain Water weight very quickly and if I don't poo (sorry TMI) I can gain more. Hugs!!!

Pre-op diet hunger is gone, now the cravings are starting...
Terry Poperszky replied to Terry Poperszky's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm doing better than I expected. Heating pad took care of the arm pain, incisions are a bit tender but not bad at all. I am just getting used to the new feelings of what happens when I swallow something, that and learning how to burp again (TMI). Did 30 minutes on the treadmill with no problems, so I will probably hit it a couple of more times today. How are things on day 5? -
I have an embarrassing question
abbybeep replied to mary2008's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Okay, so not to go all TMI on this but I've just got to tell you this! I went to Victoria's Secret and found some semi sexy things to wear. First time I wore them it was a big deal for me- and it really got things going! Because my fiancé was super into it, it helped me feel more comfortable/confident/sexy and it's really helped bring my desire back. Maybe something you should try! -
New and feel alone!
Natasha K replied to vickilynn1973's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Vickilynn...first of all is 1973 the year you were born? If so, that was a great year! I had my surgery on Thursday, 1/3/13. Pain is getting less each day, but those gurgglie, swooshing, bubbly sounds throughout my intestines and stomach are crazy! Today was my first day that I only took one 45min nap. I have cut way back on the pain meds. I had a bout of depression this morning, diarrhea (sorry if that is TMI) all day long and I want to eat something crunchy!!! I'm on liquids only for 1-2 weeks, no protein until I get cleared from DR when I see him on Friday. The tape on my incisions is itching like crazy!! I think I'm slightly allergic, due to the rash. I'm watching Biggest Loser right now, and still happy with my decision for surgery. I do hope I will have stamina in a year from now to work out that hard. I also want to do another 1/2 marathon. -
Dec 10th sleeves? How are you?
Radwilk replied to gingerRN's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am down about 33 lbs. My diet changed today to include regular foods as tolerated. My soft diet included chicken and tuna so I pushed that to turkey and well ground beef and even pork. So far I hadn't consumed anything that I wasn't already eating. I think my cravings for sodas has increased, however I am better tolerating being around normal folks while they are eating. I really wish I could go to the restroom (probably drop some weight if I weren't so stopped up). TMI? Hesitant to take something that isn't gentle. I don't know exactly how much protein and oz I am getting. I just eat low/no carb and highest protein I can. Doc probably wouldn't like that but I hate all shakes. I have yet to try unjury, but my package of it came today so we'll see. -
so i haven't used birth control for the last 7 years because we are hoping to ave one more beautiful baby to add to the bunch. but obviously my focus is on recovery and weight loss right now. i am 3 weeks out tomorrow and my obgyn said he would send me an rx to pick up at the pharmacy. my question is what does everyone prefer? it's been so long i'm not sure what's out there. i used the patch before and hated it. also used the nuva ring and could never get it to stay in (always came out during sex and about half way out during a bm- sorry if that is TMI). sounds like he is sending me a script for a pill. he said they are all basically the same so unless i requested a specific one he would just call in an everyday common one so it should be pretty text book!

Thanks for all the replies, didn't realize there were so many as I accidentally logged out. I'm going through a bit of a funny stage in life at the moment suffering with some anxiety issues so I'm reading all sorts into it, the constipation has caused a pile which has caused bleeding which has caused massive alarm bells ringing in my head, I feel all funny in my lower abdomen and am having a fair bit of wind both ends, TMI! I know - I'm sorry. Is it just because of my change on diet or do I have great cause for concern?? I'm trying my very best to drink as much as possible but like we all know this can be quit difficult so don't think I'm getting as much as needed bit like I said I'm working on it x

Ok this may be totally unrelated, but... I have had the Mirena IUD since Jan 2011. Up until surgery it has given me nothing but pain, however I had virtually NO period. I started my period 3 days after surgery so that would've been 12/27 that I started. I have had more bleeding now than the past 4-5 months combined. It has been 11 days now and I'm still going. It's also a really nasty brown color. (Sorry if that's TMI) The good news is that the pain I used to have is gone. Just curious if anyone else experienced anything like this?

I know this may be TMI,but I suffer from PMDD and I'm over a week late. I was banded 12-28-12 and the ugly mood is there but not my period. Is this normal? Definitely not preg (tubal ligation)

Seriously struggling with getting my protein
jcsleeved2013 posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had my sleeve done on 12/27/2012 and had a hiatel hernia repair to add to the difficulty in eating, so getting anything down is a chore. Not to mention things do not taste the same and I am not tolerating the protein shakes well at all. I tried Isopure and it was horrible, the only protein shakes that are not so bad are the atkins or pure protein but currently and pardon the TMI, they give me the runs. So I am at a loss at what to do, especially since even when I do drink the shakes I can never get it all down. Are there other VSGers that have struggled with this as well as having difficult even getting enough calories in? -

Super Saturday Weigh In

235.8 yesterday! That almost a 3 lbs loss this week. Weighed myself this morning and I was 237 but I'm not discouraged. Also had a visit from Aunt Flo this morning (sorry for those who think its TMI) so that may be contributing to the extra 2lbs today. -
Oh thank god someone has mentioned this. By "shadoobs" I assume you mean "the runs". hahaha. Not to be all TMI, but since starting this liquid diet, I have been gassy and back and forth to the bathroom. I thought I was the only one. It's driving me crazy. I think my body is slowly getting used to the shakes, but geez, they don't warn you! LOL

WARNING: CONTAINS A MOSTLY TMI POST Today, I'm having a bit of a rough time :[ On New Year's eve, I formed a sinus infection. I was and am still miserable. I've been using a neti pot and afrin, and that seems to help. I finally got my hands on some Mucinex D that my mother kindly paid for today. I just took a pill, so hopefully it will help with the sinus congestion. I wonder if the surgery is to blame, but I did just have a sinus infection in September, so I'm susceptible to them. Anyway, I have been experiencing constipation. I keep getting this feeling like I have to go, but nothing will come out. I bought smooth move tea, and like an idiot, I drank it this morning thinking it would take six hours. I had to go to walmart with my mom to get my tires replaced. She ate in subway, and I went to bathroom that was as hot as a sauna because I was getting intestinal pains. I went, and a little came out. I thought: no big deal, I'm fine. I walked around for about 10 minutes, and the pains came back full force. I ran to the bathroom, and I had so much pain I was moaning in agony. I started sweating, meanwhile it was literally 90 degrees in there. Every woman that came in complained how hot it was. it was so hot, their friends or family waited outside the bathroom for them. I started feeling like I was going to pass out. I didn't drink any water this morning besides the tea and to take some meds, and I only had one muscle milk and some oatmeal. I've passed out once before a few months ago from a painful bowel movement, and it felt like it was going to happen again. (I used to be very regular before surgery too, everyday. sometimes twice in one day). I tried calling my mother on her cell over and over to get me some cold bottled water. I sent a text and she finally heard a ping. I guess her call volume was off. Well, I was on the toilet, in a Walmart, for an hour. Everything came out. It was so hot, I had to take my socks off as well as the pants around my ankles. I didn't dare remove my shirt. NOT MY MOST REDEEMING MOMENT. IN A PUBLIC BATHROOM. I was covered in sweat and shaking so bad. I had tingling in my hands and feet. I wanted to flop to the floor and just lay there it was so painful and awful. Moral of the story, DON'T DRINK SMOOTH MOVE TEA DURING THE DAY, OR ANY LAXATIVES DURING THE DAY unless you have a comfortable place to have a bowel movement. I made it home in one piece. I'm now freezing and still shaking. I'm in sweatpants, sweatshirt, gloves, socks and slippers, under blankets as I write this. My other issue is that people say they hit a stall during week three, but I've been in a stall since week two, and I'm still in a stall now. I had my surgery on 12/17 and I stopped losing weight around the 26th of December. The scale hasn't budged since. I've been drinking enough fluids, but I'm thinking I need to up my protein. I usually get in 60 grams as per my doctor. But it might not be enough. I keep my calories around 800 or less, but maybe I need more?? Maybe my body really does feel like it's in starvation mode. I wonder if the PCOS has anything to do with it as well. I start exercising on Tuesday. So I hope that next week I'll see a few pounds drop. I think I need to be more diligent. Drink more, eat more, exercise and take my time as to not over exert myself.

2 weeks Post Op Today
Vicki Loichinger replied to ICGRRL's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Keep sipping. Staying hydrated is so very important, The protein will come in the next week or so. Try to get some in, but really stress the liquids and start on your vitamins if your doc has cleared you to do so, I just tried every day to do better at something then the day before, I am four weeks out and getting in all my fluids and protein and vitamins. My biggest complaint is constipation. ugh. tmi i know but oh it would feel so good to "go" wishing you the best, -

Hello everyone.... I had my surgery on Dec 28th. I am 6 days post op and literally feel like im starving. I am drinking water and getting down one protein shake but for the last 2 days hunger pains are out of this world!!! Is this normal i am scheduled to be on a liquid-diet for 3 weeks and i didnt expect to feel like im starving 6 days post op. Its hard to get down3 protein shakes because the taste isnt the greatest since i had the surgery but i am concerned for another reason. I came home sunday from the hospital not feeling the greatest but not the worst, Monday i woke up and felt like i needed to have a bm.... I took miralax to see if my bowels would move but nothing happened all day on Monday. I woke up Tuesday and the constipation was worst and i literally felt like dying considering i hadnt had a bm since last Thursday Dec 27th. I was on the toilet off and on all day straining moaning sweating and trying to push it out but nothing would come out but a small turd. I felt like i was on fire(bottom) and it hurt soooooooooooo bad. I finally called the physicians office and they suggested milk of magnesia or dulcolax. I took milk of magnesia and like anything it takes time to work thru the system and i was soooo desperate and wanted the pain in my butt to stop and to get my bowels to move because it was literally sitting on tip of my exithole(sorry for being so graphic) but i just couldnt poop. I pushed and strained all day thinking i could get it to come out one of my small incisisons started bleeding and my biggest my incision is now bruised and more painful since this fiasco with constipation. Well needless to say i thought i would help speed upthe milk of magnesium and took a stool softner(gel cap) and my lower stomach hasnt been the same. The last 2 days my lower stomach has been bubbly, churning, gassy, and i feel like i have diarhea at times but when i go to the toilet its alot of gas but it feels like im about to poop on myself. I finally had my first bmi on Wednesday at about 4am . I was scared as hell to push but i had to a little and it finally oozed out(sorry i know tmi) but i felt better and was able to finally walk straight because on Monday and Tuesday i was walking hunched over like a lil old lady due to pain and just trying to find comfort from the constipation. I am worried if i have done damage to my pouch and my biggest incision. If anyone else has had constipation problems please share and any suggestions on dealing with my hunger pains which i didnt think i would have 6 days post-op i would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for listening!!! I am not having regrets just want my sleeve to work to the max and to be successful!!! Have a blessed Thursday!!!

Im unsure what your exact situation is but let me share. I had the same problem. I lost about 20 pounds up front and then it stalled. Until i found out that i dont use the bathrooom nearly enough. So i started to take a stool softener. I went from 251 to 247 during one movement. (sorry for the tmi) So that might be something to think about if you arent regular as well as working out. Im sure it will get better. Keep your head up!

Oxy...the coughing fit is good bc you are getting all that gunk out!!! (even thought it hurt at the time and pp are right pillows pressed against the belly really help). I had a huge coughing fit on day 3 and (TMI) blood and a lot thick mucus came out. I was scared to see the blood. The dr. said was it bright red or dark red. Mine was dark red and that was fine because it was old and just making its way out. After that, I felt so much better in my chest and didn't need to use the blowing machine. Plus I was content to know I wouldn't get pneumonia. I felt so good. So keep coughing it up, with a pillow on your belly!!!! -
I'm down 35 pounds. I notice now that my thighs rub but there is no more discoloration and my hair is growing back. That's crazy. And TMI. Sorry!
