  1. WARNING: Might be TMI for some...I am about 14 weeks out from surgery and yesterday morning I woke up to intense cramping in my abdomen and diarrhea. I am usually constipated and only go about every two weeks. This cramping has continued now for more than 24 hours. I was up all night last night every hour on the hour with this intense cramping. I have no more stool left so nothing comes out, just horrible cold sweat cramps coming every minute or so. It felt like labor but it was in my intestines. I feel weak and tired now and my tummy still hurts and cramps but not as intense. Its in my lower abdomen. Has anyone had this happen? I didnt change my diet at all. I eat Talapia for supper most nights as I did the night this began. Any suggestions on what to do? Sorry if this is TMI for some.

Meat Just Ain't What It Used To Be

Never have I ever been too happy to start my period!

Wow.... That's a lot. I was terrified that my period would start during surgery or my stay in the hospital! It did not but BOOM 2nd night at home it starts. I'm afraid to use my normal go to - tampons so I'm in heavy duty pads and I'm miserable. I have fibroids and very heavy flow so this is really not fun for me. I hope things improve for you. Sorry for the TMI I've been dying to tell someone. Lol

    Questions about surgery

Hair - depending upon surgery YES you may have hair loss. More hair loss with gastric bypass, less with the sleeve. I lost some hair, but it's regrowing and I never had a bald spot. I had the sleeve. I did not have drainage tubes. I don't think most people do...but ask the surgeon. I had some dry heaves and nausea post-surgery but I think mine was an adverse reaction to the type of anesthesia they used. I was fine after a few days. As for gas pain - there is some gas left in your body after you have the surgery and walking around and moving gets it out. You can burp and/or fart (sorry if TMI!) but it will make you feel better to MOVE MOVE MOVE. The benefits of the surgery far outweigh a little hair loss, the possible inconvenience of drains, or gas. Ask questions of your surgical team! What surgery are you having? GOOD LUCK!

    Scared to have surgery!

I am doing really well honestly. The worst part for me? I have had the poops (sorry TMI). I don't really have a want to eat (probably because more of the bathroom issues lol). I didn't have pain but some mild discomfort. I feel so good - I am 6 days post op. I have to force myself to drink but that is OK. My back is hurting a lot less, the swelling in my legs have gone down tremendously, I am sleeping better - overall I feel great! I do like a mid afternoon cat nap this past week 😊😊😊😊

    Any surgery pals this week?

I'm now 2 days post op. Came Home yesterday from the hospital. Yesterday I felt good. Today was a tough day. Lots more pain and tenderness in my tummy. Lots of stomach has pain. I feel like I need to poop (sorry tmi) but can't. I feel like if I did I would feel Better. Today I started tooting which helps a bit. Today was rough tired and in pain. I managed to take a few nice walks outside which do help. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. Hi everyone I had my surgery May 21st, and was sent home yesterday. Have been drinking Water and juices since yesterday, but can't seem to drink enough. Also using a straw which helps tremendously, and have been walking while drinking which helps a little. Now I've been burping like crazy, but not passing any gas at all (sorry, tmi I know!!), does anyone have any tips on how I can 'push' that along? And also, early this morning I choked on some water and ended up vomiting some really acidic Fluid with reddish-brown flecks in it, after which I felt much better! Has anyone had that happen? Ok good luck everyone! I can't explain how much I love this forum

    Laser hair removal

Just saw this thread. Ive had 3 treatments so far. My 4th will be in a week. I prefer waiting between treatments, until I see a shadow on my chin and *once again* I must start shaving b/c the plucking is overwhelming. (TMI?) Im having a hard time convincing myself that this is a PERMANENT hair removal... esp. since Im going for my 4th treatment and know Ill need a 5th, 6th, etc. What I DID like - is a week after the treatment there is NO chin hairs - not even a shadow. For me, this usually last about 2 months. Here's my thread I started about a year ago (with the same topic). Lots of good stuff on both. http://lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=3488 Crystal, Ive never heard of the icing treatment pre-lasering. I like that idea.

    Accountability

I'll be wishing him good luck Shiny. You guys deserve all the best. I admire your willpower to resist the scale. I can't, gotta see it go down even when I know it will come right back up. Anyone else watch "You Are What You Eat"? After a good "poo", it's straight to the scale. LMAO - I know TMI, sorry.
  10. My bedroom has been commandeered. Getting out of the shower, I realized I forgot to grab a fresh pair of undies. Put on my 'skinny jeans' commando no camel toe! None. Zip. So I just went with it TMI- I know Still, a personal NSV
  11. OMG y'all, DO NOT TRUST A FART. First, I'm 8 days post sleeve surgery and haven't had a proper bowel movement. So, I'm at the DMV with my husband so he can get his truck registered, and I'm sitting in the BRAND NEW truck with our 5 y/o while my husband is inside. Surprise! I have to fart, so I do, only IT'S NOT A FART! I literally **** my pants while sitting in our brand new truck. So I text my husband, "I just **** my pants, I need to come into the bathroom." He says come on in, so I grab the 5 y/o after much complaining about not wanting to leave the car, and go running into the DMV bathroom. I run in, to my relief, it's a 1-only with a lockable door, I look at the toilet and SOMEONE HAS ALREADY CLOGGED THE TOILET! There are no paper towels, 'cause covid, I threw my underwear away and cleaned my shorts as best I could with toilet paper and then ran out the DMV, jumped back in the truck and sent a text to my husband that I was off to find a bathroom - he texts back hurry! I'm number 23 and they're on 21! (Because they needed to check the VIN on the truck) By the grace of God I found a public bathroom down the street. So there I sat, amongst the hypodermic needles, a pile of someone's clothes and somebody else's thrown out deodorant. Fortunately nobody else was in there. I made it back to the DMV just as my husband came walking out with the new tags. And now I'm traumatized...(and so's my husband, lol!) Sent from my SM-N976V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Bowls

Thanks for all the replies, didn't realize there were so many as I accidentally logged out. I'm going through a bit of a funny stage in life at the moment suffering with some anxiety issues so I'm reading all sorts into it, the constipation has caused a pile which has caused bleeding which has caused massive alarm bells ringing in my head, I feel all funny in my lower abdomen and am having a fair bit of wind both ends, TMI! I know - I'm sorry. Is it just because of my change on diet or do I have great cause for concern?? I'm trying my very best to drink as much as possible but like we all know this can be quit difficult so don't think I'm getting as much as needed bit like I said I'm working on it x

  14. I actually have another name on this forum but I cant post this information there because my husband reads it. Just a quick note about myself, I have lost 100% of my excess weight and have a BMI between 21 and 22. I am very happy with my size and weight. My husband hates my new body. He calls me bony and hates the fact that my boobs are gone. He says my pelvis is sharp and hurts when we have sex. We fight all the time and I am afraid we are headed toward a divorce. Anybody else have these problems?
  15. Can some one please explain to me why I can eat "normally" for 1-3 days and then switch to "barely getting milk down" for 5-10 days? Why is this occurring? I am not stressed, I haven't been out in the sun, I haven't exercised, I am not sick, I only have ovaries (sorry, tmi), so what the heck? I am 2.5 years post-op and still can't figure out what is going on?? Anyone have any thoughts? suggestions?

    Husbands

I feel very fortunate to have a husband who is very supportive of me doing this (band to sleeve revision). In fact.....actuoally suggested I look into getting a gastric bypass not so long ago! We have been married going on 10 years now, and I know that even when things are sucky, when the chips are down he's got my back. There have been times when I ahve not thought so, but I must be honest and say that I do have some childhood/daddy issues that I am still trying to resolve. I personally cannot wait to get my sleeve, because I look forward to the day that I CAN do things to make him feel special. Probably TMI, but there is no way I can bring myself to innitiate intimate moments. There are a lot of activities he enjoys that I 'm not able to do so well these days - hiking, bushwalking, camping.....things tha being so big make rather difficult. Plus, I think he will enjoy having a wife who just has more self confidence and improved self esteem (I have zilch self confidence and self esteem is beyond poorly). That said, my husband will have some days where he's just going to have to be a little self suffiient and cook his own meals. if I need to get out for a walk, or I'm having a rough day with food and head hunger, he might have to eat the way I do. In my mind, I might be the one having the surgical procedure, but its still a team effort but we're a team and my surgery affects both of us. Just my 2 cents worth.

I Can't Believe I'm Going To Ask This...

I got one right after surgery from all the antibiotics. I called my PCP and he called in a script for diflucan. I also take "pearl" acidophlus ( a probiotic) and they have a special formula for "female health" u can get them from wal-mart or any pharmacy or health store. Just a warning to be careful if u r having sex...you can pass it to your male partner. how's that for TMI!
  19. I had a LRNY GB on 05OCT2015. So as of today I am 22 days post. Down 32 pounds by my scale since the day of surgery, things were going really well until the end of last week. I weighed in on Friday as I always do, was down another 8 pounds and was happy. Then..... I gained a pound. Then another. As of this morning I am .8 lbs below last Friday's weigh in, but here is the thing: I was walking 5.21 miles every morning. (my body decided it likes the Military routine, so I have been getting up at 0400, not by choice) I eat < 800 calories a day. I consume > 100 grams of medical grade Protein (Unjury) daily I take in somewhere between 70-100 oz of Water a day. I usually have a Protein shake in the am prior to my walk For lunch it's another shake or perhaps a yogurt. dinner, well, it was shakes until last week, I had Ricotta bake twice, and have been eating refried Beans and cheese for the past two nights. I upped my am walk from 5.21 miles to 6.75 miles as 5.21 was just too easy, I had it down to a little over 1.5 hours and my heart rate was not high enough for long enough, by tacking on another trail (lots of hills!), before 10:00 I have 16K steps, 140 highly active minutes, about 7 miles traveled, 15 or so flights of stairs (I told you lots of hills on the new trail). By days, end I have burned no less than 4000 calories. HOW CAN I NOT BE LOSING WEIGHT? 4000 calories out, 800 in, is a 3200 calorie deficit, that's 1 pound a day. I don't get it, and I am starting to get really put out by this. So what is going on? Any advice before I go postal and adopt an Ethiopian diet of 200 calories a day and go into open revolt against my body? One (bordering on TMI) caveat, I am not having a daily BM or even every other day, I went from volcano ass, to solid BM's, but they have all but stopped, last one was 2 or 3 days ago. Back on Miralax this morning, I gotta get regular.
  20. Ok, so I'm not at goal yet but I began having this problem when I began working out 18 mths ago! I get boils! I've tried to research them and see if it's something I'm maybe just genetically prone to, if it's because I have the excess skin, or if I'm doing something wrong. They are painful, embarassing and hard to get rid of. I get rid of 1 and another one comes up. I've been told by a dermatologist that I'm prone to in-grown hairs...but I can't conclude if boils are a result of that or not, I don't think they are. (And no I haven't seen a dermatologist for the boils because I haven't had insurance, I was told that about my skin a few years ago, I will have insurance in the next 30-45 days so I WILL see a dermatologist then.) So, I wear spanx a lot, almost everyday. This seems to make it worse, but sometimes it doesn't. I get them mostly in my groin area! Soooo embarassing! Either at the top, on the side, in my bikini line, on my inner thigh, just all around that general area. And I KNOW I need a tummy tuck, but I'm waiting to finish losing weight--having another child--lose weight again...before scheduling a tummy tuck. I hope this problem would be resolved by doing that, because I'm considering an inner thigh lift too. But in the meantime, I don't know if I need to stop wearing spanx do something different, or what? I always shower right after working out, take good care of my skin (washing, exfoliating, hydrating daily) I don't wear jeans that are too tight or any of that jazz, I just can't seem to keep them at bay. However, when I'm getting a brazilian wax regularly, they seem to not show up AS OFTEN...but then, when I have 1 I don't want to get a wax because it makes them more noticeable (to my boyfriend) Ugh! Help! Thanks so much for any input you may have!!!

    On my way

It's been rough, to be honest. I'm not sleeping well and it took me a very long time to come out of anesthesia. I have lots of gas and diarrhea. Sorry, TMI.

    3Loves - Big day tomorrow!!!

I'm curious. Did I actually have a PB as described above? I didn't have any slime that everyone seems to have. I just got sick and it was all water. TMI? Sorry....I was just wondering.

    Pooping

I'm 3 months almost 4 months out and any my pooping experience is hilarious (not really). I was told and read that my bowel movements would increase and the smell would be foul. And for me, it's the absolute truth. I'm sure everyone experience is different but let me share (TMI) that I've pooped on myself in the middle of the night, I poop several times in the morning and yes have been late for work for it. When I think there is no more to come out...SURPRISE!, there's more. Im over the increase in bathroom breaks but its the smell that's the killer. Per my NUT, Im eating too much fat. Get that under control, I should begin to see a difference. That would be great, cause there are a couple of time, I just barely made it to the bathroom!
