  1. Well, as far as pain goes it went great! However, I honestly do not think that I have enough restriction. I still am eating too much. I need more restriction. I think that I might call in to see if I can get another fill or something. I get hungry in 2 to 3 hours after I eat. I will see how things go from this point. But, overall things are good. Are you lossing even more weight now that you have had your first fill?

  2. Hi! You are totally on track! I lost 19 pounds during my pre-op diet (it was two weeks and five days of only slim fast shakes and two cups of veggies). I've lost about 8 pounds since surgery, waiting until tomorrow to update my ticker. I started the mushy phase yesterday....have you started that yet? I'm expecting my weight loss to slow down with that.

  3. Congrats on your amazing weight loss. Keep up the good work.

  4. Hey Corliss! thanks for the message! I am doing okay. My grandfather is very ill and I haven't been online much. Just trying to spend time with him. I'm going for my second fill on Aug 25th which is good because I really don't have much restriction at all. I'm almost at the 50 pounds marker! That will be 1/3 of my excess weight lost! Can't wait for the next 50. How are you doing??

  5. Hey,

I am new to this site and wanted to see how someone else is doing after having surgery in 2007.

I haven't lost much so a little discouraged.

I had an overfill in Jan. 2009 so they took all of saline out.. So I had to start all over!! I am about the same height and weight you had posted and wanted to see how you have done..

    Please reply..

    Thank you

  7. -Start excercising right away...it helps with weight loss, gas pain, etc.

-Really chew slowly...if you get stuck on solids, it will hurt :)

-You are not alone....I haven't shared my surgery with many people and often felt very alone....go on here...it will help!

-Your hair might fall out at alarming rates. My doctor told me that this only happens to bypass patients....so not true! Make sure to get your protein, buy biotin, and remember that it will stop, and will grow back. Mine started 4 months out, and still falls out (less though), but it is growing back in everywhere too!

As far as workouts, I usually do 30 minutes on the elliptical or 30 minutes jogging and power walking. I also do abs and arm weights.

Keep up the good work, and please feel free to write back if you have any more questions...we are all here for each other :)

  8. looking good!! Dr. Swain did mine 1/15...need to get some before and after pics on here. Down 50 so far...got out of the gate fast but have slowed down on my weight loss dramatically. Teresa

  12. Vanessa,

Hey there! This whole process has certainly not been easy for me (to say the least), but I am really happy with the progress that I have made. I have been overweight majority of my life. When I was younger, I played sports and so I wasn't really "obese", just heavier. In college, that all changed. I had a much more sedentary lifestyle, ate more, drank more...the usual.

I still have an addiction to ice cream and other sweet stuff, and do splurge on those periodically. I was banded almost a year ago, and in that year I bought my first house, moved offices (I am the office manager so I coordinated everything), got married and gained two step children, went on a honeymoon and turned 30! There have been a lot of moments or stress and a lot of occasions where I have induldged in things that I shouldn't have. (continued in next message)

  13. Congratulations on your weight loss. Care to share exercise and diet?

  14. hi there.. i'm doing ok. how are you doing? I'm frustrated bcuz i keep staying at the same weight, but i'm still working on it... i am somewhat unmotivated but i know if i don't stay consistent then i won't only not lose weight, but i might even gain... anyway... how are you doing? how much have you lost?

  18. Doing great, thanks. Can't believe the weight loss. Down 82 lbs and I feel 25 yrs younger. My wife thinks I'm a shopaholic as I've been buying a few pieces of clothing every week. lol.lol

  19. Wow....I am so proud of you "running on the treadmill this morning @ 3.5 with 2 incline" YOU GO!!!!! Now that is very encouraging to me. Wooo girl...its been so long running at an incline...you have me on a mission to get back to that. This is great being able to share. Are you on mushies yet? This is a little harder to me because I am scared to eat somethings...fear gaining. I just received my order for this thermogenic product from the company I recently started to work with. I am going to try it 4 two weeks and see what happens. Its supposed to increase my metabolism and burn more fat...I know I am crazy but I must try I saw myself in a pic at 210 recently and damn...lol. Chat with ya soon.

  20. Hi-I would like a little support from a buddy if you are interested. I was banded Oct 2007, lost 115# but was vomiting daily. Had unfill a month ago and gained 14# and just had some filled last week and it is slow going as everything is different again. I do not get full right away, the food has to sit and then I get the fullness feeling. I have to learn how to eat differently again! Any suggestions? Am trying to increase the exercise, but stopping the snacking is hard. And drinking water gets old. Help if you can! Thanks so much. I want to lose 10-15# and then maintain! Have to keep a food diary for the NP who did my fill as they were not happy with my gain (I had no restriction at that point and lost control) Thanks, Suz in Iowa

  21. I was banded on Nov. 22 of 08. Have lost about 45 pounds. It took me 6 fills to get where I needed to be. I've started exercising everyday so hopefully I can start losing more weight soon. My weight has been at a stand still for the past month. Frustrated but hanging in there!!

  22. Im glad your healing process has been a easy one...cause im still like what the hell did i do..lol

i know that once everything gets going with solid foods, I will feel much better about my decision...I do enjoy losing weight..i must admit

  23. Well my fill went great. I am finally feeling a little bit of restriction, but not a lot. I am finally down about 40 lbs and glad to see the scale back in the downward spiral. I hope your fill goes great! I look forward to hearing about it and how you're feeling! Aside from slow... how has your weight loss been going? How much are you down? Do you work out at all? I hope all is well and look forward to keep in touch with you.
