  1. So I had my Psych evaluation this morning, I would love to hear how you felt about yours, mine had the "tests" pencil and paper but also a 45 min conversation that felt like 2 hrs. She asked where I was raised then went on to how many times I cry then on to something else then something else then she asked me if I knew what it would take for me to live after surgery and keep the weight off why I felt I could not do this without the surgery...WELL...how do you answer that without giving TMI!!! Lady I need a freaking stop button! The she blurts out of nowhere: "You are too hard on yourself aren't you?" I don't even know what to tell this lady at that point but thank God it ended. I really find therapy interesting but is it normal for them to pick and poke like that, I think I would rather journal or talk to a close friend. Here is my favorite question: "Do you think you overeat to fill an emotional need?" I consider myself deep but seriously I didn't know what to say I don't know what my emotional pit is this was way too deep girls that's all I can say. This Psych eval was exhausting... can't wait to see the surgeon on the 23 of November. Hope everyone is having a great week!

  3. @@della street .. I agree with you about "where the heck are all the AZ bariatric patients?" Banner Gateway is even a Bariatric Center of Excellence so obviously they are a busy place. hmmm...well, my surgeon submitted to my insurance for final clearance last Tuesday so I am hoping to hear back this week. He said, "The office staff tells you 3weeks, but it only takes one normally, so call next week if we haven't called you." haha. I plan to call Thursday. That will be a week and few days in. He says I have everything else so once that is back we can schedule for April The office manager there had a sleeve surgery 5 years ago and she is very vocal about #2, so it's not really TMI. We should know everything we are going to face so thanks for your candor.
  4. TMI warning...is anyone else having this issue. I go days (5-7) without having a BM, I forget to take something to get things moving because unfortunately I have always had this problem and it doesn't hurt. Then all of the sudden, I have diarrhea! What is that all about? I haven't had a normal BM since the surgery (almost a month ago).

The crotch is always the first to go

I'm down 35 pounds. I notice now that my thighs rub but there is no more discoloration and my hair is growing back. That's crazy. And TMI. Sorry!
  6. I had my final weigh in today, and am down another 2 lbs. over a 4 week period. I am just glad I was down some, I have not done as good as I could of in the last week or so! Its TOM, it makes it hard on me, I know TMI! I go for my final psych eval tomorrow, then they will submit to Aetna. ! I am so nervous, but I really think I have all my ducks in a row! I have two more classes to attend, one next week, then one more after I am scheduled for surgery. We get a 3 month membership to a local gym, and three visits with a personal trainer with our prgram fee, so I am pumped up about using that. We can start as soon as the surgery is scheduled. Hopefully, that will help get a few more lbs off before surgery. I can't wait for a new me! I'm think I'm on my way!Jodi

I updated my YouTube this morning with 3 videos. Only 1 really applies for here and it's absolutely TMI so beware lol For those that want to watch, it's called spit and ****. I've had the worst heartburn EVER since surgery so maybe this will help out others out there and lets face it, **** happens so there you have it, the name of the video LOL xoxo's Renee`

    Bikini waxing

Not TMI, hell we talk our poops around here. Waxing our lady bits ain't nothing compared to peacock poops ! ! !
  9. Never had one before. Sorry if this is TMI but it won't go away. Any advice/recommended products? I heard that if you ice it, it will shrink, but it didn't work for me. It's hard, painful, and really uncomfortable! I need to poop but I'm afraid to! I don't think I'm going to eat anymore until this goes away and I can poop! This is so embarrassing!

    Surgery day!

Gas has continued to give me trouble for the last couple of days. I'm home now and last night was a somewhat peaceful night. The key is to stay on track with pain meds. I've been adding a Tylenol to the pain pill to help it last longer and it seems to be doing the trick. Walking has helped with the gas stuck in my abdomen, however, it has slowly come out on its own..sorry if tmi lol any bit of relief is a win in my book. I'm staying hydrated. Seems to be doing good, just still tired. Started back taking my vitamins today as well as getting some protein in. Protein was too much at first when I got home..it made me dry heave pretty bad. But can now tolerate it. Hoping for continued progress!!

    Fecal Impaction... tmi... HELP!

I mdidn't haceiserably had this problem too. It happened first week of back to work. I didn't drink all my water as recommend, ended impacted. I did almost all remedies mentioned (stool softeners, mag citraste & fleet enema) had barely some diarrhea but still knew I had hard stool (tmi). What I'm trying to warn you is that I tried all these remedies because nothing really was working I ultimately ended up with fever, chills and very weak. I thought I was getting "flu" finally I connected the dots; I was severely dehydrated! Since u have a nursing background...connect the dots & u will figure it out! B really careful!
  13. Mine was on top lol. I was so uncomfortable with my weight that I hated the way I looked. My hubby would tell me I saw you have 2 c sections and I've held your hand when you were sick, I love you no matter what and think your beautiful but I just couldn't do it. Well finally after losing 54 pounds and feeling better about myself. We got a hotel room and I got on top and it was amazing. I was missing out. And the whole time he was telling me how sexy and beautiful I was. It was definitely one for the book lol. Too much tmi sorry

    Bowl movement

Wow, glad you're ok now. Did you get pancreatitis? I noticed something wasn't right with me when my stool turned clay-colored with a slightly yellow tint; and sometimes, even yellowish mucus (TMI). Then, I would feel bloated all the time, especially after eating. Then, I would have indigestion. Eventually, I started having a strong cramping sensation in my sides when I would sit down and bend over to pick something up (kinda like a Charlie horse). By then, I knew I had to get something checked out. So, I scheduled a HIDA scan. When they gave me the cholecystokinin injection, I felt horribly nauseous (which is one of the indicators of a failing gallbladder). It took a while for my gallbladder to empty the injection. My results were that my gallbladder was functioning at only 12% (anything lower than 35% motility is diagnosed as gallbladder dysfunction). I had my gallbladder removed, and the cramping pain and indigestion went away. Though, now that my gallbladder is gone, it can be difficult to eat fatty foods. You can go from being constipated, to having diarrhea. I'm 5 months post-op, and I only have a bowel movement 1-2 times each week. It's awful. So now, I try to remind myself to drink Benefiber.
  15. Anybody have any experience with Federal Blue Cross and plastic surgery after weight loss? Do they pay? I hear that they do pay for quite a bit of it but I'd really like to know from someone who had it rather than from third party sources... I know I'm getting waaaaaaaay ahead of myself here since I haven't even had my surgery yet but I really think knowing I can finally look normal (for the first time in my life) would be a huge motivator to me. When I lost 160lbs( I've gained back 60) 12 years ago I was sagging skin everywhere--EVERYWHERE! I was very disappointed that I was still disfigured. I hate to admit this but my husband has never seem me naked with the lights on. He likes to joke by saying he gets glimpses of different parts and then just puts them together in his mind like a puzzle! lol... yes, he is a saint! But I would love to feel comfortable enough to be more at ease. The idea of plastic surgery gives me hope! Sorry if I've shared too much TMI.....
  16. It's been 5 days and I am very uncomfortable. Called dr last night and he said I can take a laxative. I feel like all I need to do is push some but afraid I will hurt something internally. Sorry, so tmi but help!! LOL
  17. Hello, world. I thought I'd take the time to formally list out my non scale victory goal list. Having been around the weight loss block and back again oh say.. 10 times over (enough already!).. I recognize the importance of setting scale and non scale victories for myself. As a young lay-daaay (oh, haaaai!) who has been overweight all my life but with a trendy, fashion-loving sense of style, I have a long one. Sure, I have my weight and health goals. Of course. I've had them for years. But now's the time to list out every detail - big and small - that I have wanted to get to my entire life but due to my weight, have yet to achieve... and keep. Mr. List - I vow to come back to you throughout my weight loss journey for motivation, reminders, celebrations and reality checks.. for those plateaus and frustrating times to keep me going. I'm starting with 18 because I'm a superstitious freak and that's my lucky number. Ready, set... Fitting into designer skinny jeans. Not James Jeans from Salon Z at Saks (though I do love you, boo), but honest to goodness designer denim: Sevens, J Brand, Joe's. Tankini... or, dare I say it.. bikini? Sitting in a chair without something in my lap - a sweater, HUGE BAG, or hiding behind a table to hide the rolls of my stomach. Who am I fooling? The end of thigh chafing. TMI, but Chicago summers? Come ON. More easily tying or strapping on m'shoes sans tummy to make things difficult. The end of plus sized clothing options. Confidence to show my arms. Rock a Rent the Runway dress (standard sizing) for the next wedding I attend! Courage and energy for spinning classes at Fly Wheel or Soul Cycle Easily do ten perfect push ups - the bain of my existence in all my current workout vids! Zipping into my favorite top from my studying abroad (thinnest days) Fitting into any clothing item smaller than an XL or single digits Shop in the same stores/sections as my girlfriends and be able to buy more than just accessories! Take photos without hiding behind people. Actually needing a belt. (Not just for a fashion statement) Able to be carried... On top. Nuff said. Cross my legs... easily, with a sky high pair of platforms, natch. More to come! Anybody else? What are your NSV goals, hopes or achievements? Mine may seem random or superficial, but so many times in my life I've wanted to be able to more easily do these things but my weight has prevented me from enjoying them.
  18. It’s been 14 days. No issues getting water or protein. I’m actually not as hungry as the first few days but when I smell food I was certainly like a bite Only 1 issue with nausea. I had some green tea with no sugar from Starbucks. I drank about half, and that came up. TMI Weight loss has been great but I’m sure still primarily water but still 18 lbs I have started heavy weights and that went well but tired quick. I’ll stick with one muscle group per day. Good luck everyone.
  19. So I had a thought today about WLS when I was at work. I realized that while I am excited about new clothes, better health, and a more active life there is one thing that would be almost (TMI) orgasmically good. It would be fantastic to come home from work and NOT have my feet, ankles, knees and legs positively ache and swell up. I work on my feet for 8 hours every day as a cake decorator. Sometimes after sitting and then getting back up my feet are so swollen they look like little Italian sausages (the Hot and Spicy kind, of course!) and I hobble around like a 100 year old woman! I actually daydreamed today (while cloud watching! I saw a crab, and Spiro the dragon!) about how having 120 less pounds bearing down on my poor footsies will feel! How maybe my hips and shoulders wont hurt. About how I will be able to enjoy my body, rather than be exhausted by it. Still no word about the insurance, but I've got a ton of extracurricular activity for the next five days to help take my mind off of everything.

    I threw up...Not a PB.

I understand what you mean, I had a business lunch the other day and got stuck....fun. We are going home over the holidays and this will be the first time I will see some of my family since being banded....I am a bit nervous as to how they will take my portion size and GOD I hope I don't have to excuse myself to PB. If I do, however I hope I can make it funny! Phew, thank goodness! LOL Just kidding with you a bit. I've been fortunate to have time to make it to the bathroom too. Although when I am at home, I normally use the kitchen sick.....ewwhh I know but it's the truth. Welcome John and glad I we can all be of service. No but seriously it's nice to hear that you didn't leave the thread thinking....OMG....Way TMI!!!! YOu are so funny! I love your profile piccy btw! Very nice! Hard work has paid off! Did you have work done?
  21. It took me a few days to get the guts to post this because frankly it is TMI, but I am now Day 4 of my bowel movements being all diarrhea. Is that normal or a cause for concern? Thanks and sorry for the topic lol. P.s. What is “dumping”. I have seen that term a few times. Does it have to do with this topic? Thanks!
  22. That is wonderful!!!!! (NOT TMI.....) Deb
  23. Awesome, and it's definitely not TMI! Theres so much that's embarrassing around weight issues, but you are in good company here, and we can ALL relate!
  24. tripletmomma2000

    Hey kids..... Momma's home!!!

Today is Monday, and I'm feeling great!! Finally pooped this morning (I know... I know... TMI!) I've been taking 2 TBS of Milk of Mag each morning, so I guess it finally kicked in! The liquid vicodin is every 4 hours/7 days. I'm still taking it, though I doubt I need it. Why question authority (hee hee)?? It's the only narcotic that I've ever been able to tolerate, so my doctors were happy to prescribe one that wasn't going to make me sick. Over the years, with c-sections and stuff, I've taken it all... Morphine, Demerol, Percocet, etc. They all make me vomit. It was actually my dentist that found that Vicodin was the one for me! I'm up and running.... not doing any lifting, or anything strenuous, but I'm back to work (I work part time from home.... depending on how much work I have that week, I can work 10-90 hours in a week... hardly part-time... but that's generally during Oct-January) Feeling great, and looking forward to getting a fill in this band of mine!! TTYS! Karen
