Well, I hit the one year mark a few weeks ago.. with that said, I'm officially 7 pounds from goal weight (down 111 pounds from 238 to 127)... So in honor of the one year mark (that I actually FORGOT about when it came- kind of embarrassed to say that) here are some NSV that have made me smile over the past few weeks. 1. I finally got my rings resized. I've been putting this off for as long as I could because I did not want to pay to have them resized multiple times. I wore 4 rings every day before surgery and weeks after they were too big. I resized one at Christmas time as a treat to myself but got the other 3 done last week. 2. I stole a pair of jeans from my little sister (she's 12 years old) who wears 16 girls... well they're too big for me. So naturally, I wandered into GapKids and bought myself another pair... size 12 in girls! WHAT! 3. I went on vacation to the beach and I wore a swimsuit... I haven't worn a swimsuit in 12 years. 4. Finally... I turned 20 right before my one year mark so for my birthday I treated myself to something I've always wanted but was always too ashamed to buy in my size.... a Gucci belt. These last 7 pounds are very stubborn and have been hanging around for a few weeks now but I hope to have them off by the end of July!

Last week and I went and bought new jeans as the ones I bought last fall (32”) are just too baggy. I bought and fit into 29”. I can’t believe my waist is now smaller than my 32” inseam. Awesome NSV for me as the scale is pretty stagnate. Then I was sharing this story with one of my close friends (who affectionally calls her self a skinny bitch) and she tell me she has pants in that size too. I literally stopped walking and just gave her this look of WTF and commented “I just have no idea how to process that”. Seriously a year ago I was two weeks post op and today life is completely different.

NSV TIME!! Holy crap. I went into Walmart to get some new jeans (IMHO, better than any expensive jeans I have purchased). I started at a 26 and have been wearing some 24s as well. Walking around Chicago this weekend, it was apparent that I had to break down and buy some clothes. I bought a few things last week, but not jeans. Mostly comfy stuff, workout clothes, summery casual stuff. Anyway, for sh-ts and giggles, I picked up a pair of 20s along with the 22s. THEY FIT!!!! I am beside myself... the teens are on their way, baby!! -
My NSVs from today: Went to old navy wearing my now very very loose size 22 jeans. Tried on a bunch of size 18s and the size 16s which were only a SMIDGE too small for right now! And I got an XL sweater! I also bought a pair of “pixie” chinos in a dark pink/maroon color - way out of my black pants and black sweater ‘uniform’ of the last several years/multiple decades! I also might be wearing a new/not my usual thing dress tomorrow if I work up the courage :)

Sometimes NSV are the best victories! I've had quite a few in the last year but here are some: I can fit comfortably in the chairs in our conference room at work, the arms used to dig into my legs and hips so bad. I can shop in straight size stores only now, no more bouncing between plus and straight I need new wedding rings, my fingers have gone down so much I can't even have my rings resized!! Yay new wedding set!! Calf boots, I can wear them all. I also went down a shoe size so I need all new shoes on top of a new wardrobe. I can see my feet again when I look down instead of just my belly, also my boobs are bigger than my belly again, thank god. I can do 40-60 minutes on the Elliptical and not need a break. The first time I got on I couldn't even do 5 minutes. I'm smaller than my husband for the first time ever. I can cross my legs comfortably and love doing it.

My NSV is that I was co-captian of a Relay for Life team and signed up in April. I needed a 2x Team Captian t-shirt at that time. I hadn't wore my tshirt again until our Relay event last night. I had to trade my shirt in for a LARGE!!! I wore a LARGE last night. I thought I needed an XL but they didn't have any so I told them I would try a Large but it probably wouldn't fit. Well it DID!! I was so surprised and glad I didn' have to wear the 2xl knee length shirt. Our team came in 8th place(raising $2,281.) out of 30 and last night was a great all around success!! WOOO HOOO! -

Congratulations to all of you. I love reading about nsv's. Can't wait till I can add some myself. Keep up the good work ladies. -
I haven't figured out if this is a good NSV or not. Since I have lost the weight I am no longer hot all the time. I haven't owned a jacket or coat in over 10 years. Well, now I am cold all the time. It is wonderful not being hot all the time but now that I am cold my knees hurt. Since it has been so cold here in Reno, NV I should expect it. It will sure be nice during the summer. I do not tolerate hot weather at all.

K, I am gonna turn up the heat for a sec.... My newest NSV: Last night during the middle of sex w/ DH, he picked me up to switch positions. Just in case you missed that-HE PICKED ME UP! Of couse it freaked me out and I screamed put me down because I still suffer from fat girl syndrom. I am trying to let go of my issues but I still see myself as that chick who still carries the 102 lbs I have lost so far. I am working to get over it and, *ahem*, maybe a few more lbs and I will request to be picked up  -

I had another NSV moment today. I was wearing a blouse that I hadn't worn in about 3 weeks. I didn't look at it before going out. When I went to my daughter's home she asked when I was going to get rid of that blouse because it was looking bad because it is so big! Yeah! Good job everyone else. -
Gone 4 ever - That is so exciting!!!!!!:thumbup::thumbup: I really like it when there is a difference in the weight loss but I personally get more excited about the different NSV's. You go girl!!!!!!

My most recent NSV is my last doctor appointment. I had to visit a new ob/gyn and of course I had to tell her I had the band. She told me my weight and blood pressure are "PERFECT" and when she was doing the breast exam she checked out my scars and was like ok so it was laproscopic and if you hadn't told me that you had lapband surgery I would have thought it was gall bladder surgery because the scars match and your skin is great, no excess, no stretch marks. She went on to tell me her father is a Plastic Surgeon and that he frequently does surgery after weightloss surgery but that i don't need it!!! I was SUPER happy because it just made me feel soooo good! -
Oh! What a drag about the spare skin! I hope it goes away. Still, it is a sign that you have lost a lot of weight. It is an NSV, I guess, though not a really neat one.

Before and After Lap Band Surgery - PICTURES ONLY
Josette replied to DeLarla's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
It's been over 9 months and I'm just now getting up the guts to post before and afters. Right now my scale is broken but I know I'm over 60 lost. I still have 100 to go but today I had a HUGE NSV. I went to buy some new carpi's for work and before surgery I wore 28's (tight) 30/32's. Today I grabbed a 26 and too big. 24...too BIG! I bought 22's!!!! I can't remember the last time that happened. It's been over 10 years since I fit 22's!!! My shirts are still bigger because I carry my weight around my mid section, but I can now shop for shirts at lane bryant again. Anyways, I figured it's time to post some pic's. I finally see a difference! Thanks to everyone for being so inspiring! Love you all! First pic was taken a few days prior to surgery and the second was taken tonight! -
My first very mini goal is to get under 200lbs - that should be soon I hope. 2nd mini goal is to get under 90 kilos which is around 196 lbs. That one will make me very happy. My first big NSV is to finally have my regular clothes too big. I have lost 10 kilos or over 20 lbs and my clothes still fit Why didn't anyone tell me they were sooo tight...

Nsv Buy jeans of the rack and they always fit Not being able to buy pants at Costco because I was too big and now because I'm too small Walk around a crowded room without stress Got scuba certified and was actually the smallest there, blew my mind as this is a dream come true. I'm going on a diving excursion by myself and not stressed, boom. I went zip lining in Costa Rica I actually will eat in front of others, huge for me I'm not worried about being judged for my grocery cart I no longer wish to be or feel invisible I tuck my shirts in I love getting dressed up and going to events I can talk with anybody and be present and not focused on negative thoughts I can enjoy social settings again I can swim for hours at a time again I am not afraid of failing anymore because of my weight I am more aware of others needs and am more able to help them. When somebody drops something I quickly pick it up for them. I saved ten bucks on flannel pj pants because instead of the adult xxl I used to wear I fit into a youth size I say yes to adventures now I have the courage to say no too without beating myself up The negative self talk is being replaced with thoughts of gratitude Food is finally just food again

Non Scale Victories

Not throwing up is the best nsv. Anyone who suffered with a lap band and now has a sleeve can attest to the difference. I thank God everyday my lap band is gone. Love my sleeve so much. Sent from my LGMS210 using BariatricPal mobile app
