No but I'm ovulating sorry tmi
-
My doctor is upset with me. My bloodwork results are pretty good. My cholesterol was a little high because I haven't been eating right. But I haven't been taking my Caltrate Petites like I am supposed to. They make me terribly constipated. Sorry for the TMI but I really need some suggestions so I can take this supplement without the side effects. Anyone?
-
Got a problem and who else to go to but all of you. I'm supposed to be taking two Caltrate petites a day. However, I can't because they give me the worst stomach cramps and constipation. (Sorry, I know TMI). My doctor wants me to take it still even though all my labs look good (all 17 tubes of blood those vampires took). What can I do about the cramps and constipation? PS. My dietician informed me not to take my Vitamins at the same time as my Calcium. She said that it interferes with the absorption of the vitamins.

Why am I a Slowwwwwwwww loser?
VSG_me replied to newgrandmother's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm in the slow loser boat too! I'm 6 weeks out and have lost 24 lbs (14 of that was the FIRST WEEK!) So that makes the other 10 I lost about 1.6 lbs per week. I haven't been on here as much because there are so many opinions but everyone on this post said it right = we are all individuals! I am looking forward and not backwards. I WILL lose this weight whether it takes a few months or a few years. I could have never got as far as I have without my sleeve and that pleases me to think about it. I'm still in a size 16 and can still fit in most of my pre-surgery clothes, but I can't let that get me down! I just keep telling myself a "slow loss" is better than "no loss", and a "stall" is not a "stop"! NSV's for me: -people have noticed my weight loss, especially in my face -I can sleep on my side comfortably -I can wipe myself easily after going to the restroom (TMI but its true!!) -I can control my portions -I don't get sad when I walk in my closet - I know my size is going to go DOWN! Blessings to everyone on their journey's - especially the slow losers! Keep the faith! -
What happens if you don't get all your protein in? My surgery buddy and I are having the same issue. Not many we can tolerate. I just look at my protein and throw up. Sorry TMI. Any help would be appreciated.
-
I'm five months post op and I've thrown up no more than 6 or 7 times...for me, I know it's coming because my mouth gets all watery and spitty...then when it comes out...TMI alert...it's slow, not forceful Nd not at all projectile. Hope that helps.
-
Everyone is different. I had RNY on Jan.28 and I throw up at least 3-5x a day. Surgeon said it was ketones and eventually it will pass. Almost all day I'm nauseous and I dry heave and gag. For me it's not an immediate vomit (tmi) more of a "you feel it coming" and it's only foam and slimy saliva. It sucks because I can't go many places. Threw up earlier today at a high school fair with my son. I wanted to stay but I couldn't and cried all day. I hope you're one of the ones that don't go through this. SD:1/28/13 HW:358 SW:338 CW:297

I decided to try to remove my wedding ring last night, something I haven't done in years, because they say no jewelry is allowed for the surgery. I used to be able to slide it up and down my finger with not much of a problem. Wow, was it a pain to get off! First, I tried something called surgi-lube, which is a lubrication that my wife's hospital uses for different things. No luck. Then, my wife tried something that they try in the hospital, which is wrapping an Ace bandage tightly around the finger for a few minutes, removing it quickly and THEN trying the surgi-lube. No luck. Couldn't get it past the first knuckle. Finally, I went to the kitchen sink to wash off all the lube, and just kept twisting and pulling, twisting and pulling. My finger still hurts from the whole thing, but at least I don't have to worry about doing it tonight now. I was thinking I was going to have to get it cut off. In the possible TMI (Too Much Information) category - I woke up around 4 am feeling like I had to do diarrhea, which isn't an unusual thing to happen to me in the middle of the night. Well, turns out I was a bit constipated, followed by diarrhea. It took me about 10 minutes to be able to go, but then once the flood gates opened...ok, this is getting into TMI. I will probably be making a second, very short post this afternoon, after I find out my surgery time. They said to call between 3:30 and 4 today to get the time.

Got up at 6am took a dose of liquid pain meds got the kids up for school, then I made them some chocolate chip pancakes put a few dishes in the dishwasher, and BAM ran to the bathroom. Wasnt sure which end it was going to come out of but I didn't care as long as it came out. I know (TMI) Then reluctantly spent my morning working on office work, dragged myself to see two clients came home thought maybe a protein shake (my first whole one since surgery) may perk me up with the calories, I put in all my liquid vitamins into the small remainder of my shake and shook it up (havent been able to take my vitamins since sugery either) wasn't too sure how it was going to taste, but not bad. Most importantly, I drank it all. Then after a lil nap, I woke up and did 10 minutes on my elliptical!! of course level 1 and Zero resistance, nothing Jillian Michaels would get excited over but hey, It got me movin. As I am writing this my stomach sounds (and looks a lot like) I am 8 months pregnant with a very angry growly lil monster...lol. Hes been with me a week now every since about day 2 post op. Grrrr. My husband swears he cant hear the gnarly loud sounds coming from my stomach but how could he not...I can hear them...24/7 The good news..I have lost 10 pounds. My diet currently consists of sf jello sf popsickles low fat cream of chicken lots and lots of water premier protien shakes Hope all you February Sleevers are starting to feel better

FEBRUARY SLEEVERS 2013....how you doing after you've been Sleeved
susannabanana replied to DivaNurse's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was sleeved Feb 25 (1 wk, 1 day ago) and now that I made it through "hell week" feel like I might survive lol. In the hospital I was nauseous and wobbly and once home I was in pain, my legs swelling and tingling and couldn't get more then a couple tblspns in a day of water or nourishment. Definitely couldn't stomach the shakes and had trouble finding anything that tasted right. I think my taste buds are finally headed back towards normal now- whew! Hubby was sleeved Dec 17 and sailed through everything with no problem, followed the diet with no problem, very little pain, was riding an exercise bike within a few days- basically the best possible outcome. I on the other hand was the complete opposite. I finally just decided I was going to have to eat a bit outside the norm or I was not going to make it and for me that made me start healing. So for example last night I had 1 oz of salmon mixed with a teeny amount of healthy mayo and this morn i am working my way through a scrambled egg and then will have a couple oz of OJ. Including my 2 wk pre-op diet I've now lost 22 lbs including all that fluid weight gain from the IV and surgery. Hubby and I both use myfitness pal- easy to use and nice to see the protein and calorie numbers. TMI: My 3rd day I pooped (hey, we all do it, lol) normally but then for the next few days I had diarrhea everytime I managed to eat something. Thankfully that seems to have passed. Maybe it was the Lobster Bisque, lol. I did have trouble bending over to wipe from the belly pain and hubby bought me this stick thing you attach the TP to but it really didn't work. Not worth the $15. Actually he had bought me a bidet attachment thing for the toilet but our toilet wasn't compatible- darn. Twice I wasn't sure I'd wiped well so I made those "shower now" days, lol. I'm a great tooter and happily no sharts Last night was my 1st night that I was able to sleep in my bed all night without having to move to the recliner. Yes I had a ton of pillows but I made it happen! Still looking forward to being able to curling up on my side for sleep but for now this is good My first week I had a tummy that would just spam and jump on it's own and an awful pain left of my belly button. That pain I was convinced was from splitting something inside because my 2nd trip to potty in the hospital I bet over a little and coughed and felt something there go POP all the way over to my bellybutton! I told the nurse and I told the surgeon but they didn't seem concerned. That was the pain I thought was going to do me in once I was home because I couldn't stomach the liquid pain med they gave and they told me to take tylenol and couldn't handle more then 1 pill a day at that point. That pain, just today is finally easing up- yay! My other big pain was my left shoulder. I had a (surprise) hiatal hernia repair done also and they said that shoulder pain was from the repair. Today I can breathe and not wince as that pain also is fading away finally. One thing I wished I had known sooner was it's really ok to take Aleve and gosh those pills are TINY and last longer! I am finally starting to get my meds and vitamins in but it's slow going. Still haven't had a day where I got them all in. For me besides Tylenol or Aleve, it's - Losartan pill for hypertension, Prilosec capsule to protect the tummy, Ursodial capsule to control the gallbladder (I do have a tiny gallstone), Multivitamin with iron (2 jumbo chewables daily), Calcium Citrade softchews with D3 (4/day), and Sublingual B12 once a week because I don't want the dreaded intramuscular B12 shots. I haven't started exercising yet other then a bit of walking but once I do I will use the exercise bike we have here at home and then move on from there. Hubby goes to Planet Fitness which he says is nice because it's not the kind of place where already fit people go, lol. They do have people there to show you the ropes too and it's only $10 a month and no contract (or $20 and you can use more then 1 location and bring a guest). Unfortunately it's not that close to home. He uses one at lunch near work and on weekends uses one in the next town over. So I was considering Curves for women which is 5 minutes away from home and do their 30 min circuit. My exercise specialist at the weight loss clinic said I could but that he didn't recommend it as a first choice. So I'm not sure. -
Post op 8 weeks help !
worm2872 replied to heather81's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yep I gain a pound or two all the time. Right now I am up a pound. It is just your body adjusting. Don't worry it will come off again. Also, along with salt and water retention, watch your "bathroom" habits. I know TMI but that can make a HUGE difference. -
Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
greenfamily004 replied to newgrandmother's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Time for real talk.... Hope this isn't TMI. I'm not going..... Ugggh!!! I know I don't eat enough veggies but by the time I fit protein in there's not room for much more. I can go over a week without going. That's just not healthy. Ive taken Milk of magnesia and Mirilax. It will eventually happen with the aid of a chemical product but I hate that I have to take them do what should come natural. I even thought that maybe I'm eating too much Greek Yogurt???? (Lots of protein in that stuff) Is anyone else having this issue???? -
4 days out... Frustrated
SweetTee replied to lwilliams65's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just can't do the protein shakes. I'm 6 days post op. Any suggestions on making them tolerable? This new tummy is so rumbly! It's like the rumble you get when you're just about to have a case of explosive diarrhea, but minus the diarrhea (TMI I know). I find that the PPI seems to settle it. I also felt hunger today for the first time, I don't think it was head hunger to. I managed to get in 32 oz G2, a greek vanilla yogurt, 2 spoons of cream of broccoli soup (sleeve didn't like that), 1 jello, and 1 SF fudge Popsicle. I'm trying to stay hydrated and 64 oz just seem impossible to me, my urine was starting to look dark but looked much better today. I can't stand this gassy stage!! When will it end??? I feel pretty good, no real pain no nausea (thank God). But, when will I feel normal? -

nurse told me i can take a capsule of stool softner and that helped. Hello, Did you take a capsule or gel cap? Also what kind was it? Skip this line if your queasy TMI but a bowel movement at this stage of the game consists of liquid. Hey I am gratefull for that even. As it eases 3/4 of the worst of it for awhile. Out of 12 trips to the bathroom, I may be able to go 1 time. Its discouraging, cause its the only thing that helps. This too shall pass...I know..just wish it would hurry up. J -
Why is Mother Nature such a moody witch?!?
mezanne1401 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Guys, stay clear! Ladies (and the guys who read beyond the first sentence), I apologize for the TMI, but I need to vent and can't do so on FB. Since we've all talked about sex, bowel movements and wounds, I figure I'm safe here! I have never had regular periods. Even when I was a teenager, I would go two or three months without one, but since I was a virgin until I was 18 and have only been with one man, my husband, I never worried about being pregnant like others normally would! So, the bigger/heavier I got, the fewer periods I would have. I haven't had a period in probably a year now and I started yesterday. I'm wondering now if I will start to be regular since I've lost weight. I weighed 215 pounds in high school and right now I am 245 (down 82 pounds!!!!), so I've never been at a healthy weight to see if a normal weight would have me regular. With that little bit of my personal history aside, I've never been quite so happy to start!!!! Maybe one day I will be healthy enough to finally have a baby!!!! I'm 31 now and have been married for 11 years (12 in April) and my husband would love to have a child. I've always played the "We can't afford a child" or "I'm not quite ready yet" cards, but secretly I was scared because I knew deep in my heart that I could not add another 30-50 pounds to my 327 pounds. I knew I wouldn't be able to pick up my child out of their crib because of my debilitating back pain. Now, my back pain is GONE!!! I lifted a couch over my head with my husband to load it into his truck. I will be able to pick up my baby and play with my baby!!!! I am now excited about getting to goal because of more than just getting to goal! We can start trying for a baby soon!!! I'm over half way to goal, so it may be here sooner than I thought. My mom will finally get her first grandbaby (I'm an only child). My only living grandparent, my grandma, will finally get her great grandbaby (I'm the only grandchild). My husband is the only son without a baby and we get treated very differently by his side of the family because we haven't given his mother a grandbaby and maybe that will stop! I think I'm almost ready for a baby!!!! I haven't told anyone about these feelings as they have just sort of exploded from me as I'm writing this! I've gone off on a tangent since I've just had an epiphany with this post. What I originally meant to post about was being on my period after WLS and wanting to eat everything in site! OMG!!! I have been sucking on suckers to ease the sweets cravings and munching on peanuts like crazy! I know these are not healthy at all and I know I will get bashed for that, but the need to munch and snack is insatiable! I never thought about this before surgery because I was so irregular, but at this moment, I could go to Golden Corral and stick my head under the chocolate waterfall thingy and not feel an ounce of regret!!!! Only five days left and I will be so glad when I'm back to my new old self!!!! Sorry for the super long post! I think it was a little therapeutic!!! -

prettylittleheart replied to prettylittleheart's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Jacee, I really hope you will be able to get a good nights rest soon! I agree with the gas pains. My sleep is mainly broken up. I however am not walking a mile and haven't been to a store! I can't speak on behalf of everyone but I am certainly not a petty person and I am here to listen - vent away! I've not gone to BR yet for #2 (TMI), but I think I'm going to call my dr soon so he can prescribe something for me. I might be a little afraid to go too, not sure. Hope I go soon. Our surgery dates are very close in range so it might be nice to keep each other updated as well. Keep me posted on how you're doing. Good luck in March! Let us know how you make out! Prayers your way! -
Did you keep your surgery a secret?
TES replied to KanesMom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I really agree with this. I haven't shouted from the rooftops about my surgery, but I also haven't lied about it to anyone. I told a few people that I was having surgery (mostly business contacts whom I needed to let know I would be out--although I was answering business emails from my iphone within a few hours of surgery)--and not one person was rude enough to ask what kind of surgery. If anyone asks at any point how I am losing weight (I'll be so psyched when I lose enough for it to be noticeable--LOL), I will likely say either 1) I decided to make myself a priority; or 2) small portions, low carb, and exercise--all of which will be true. I think it's fine if people want to share the personal details of their life with others, but I wasn't raised that way. I don't judge people who like to do it, but it's just my personal preference not to do it. When I had an office job, on the rare occasions that I was out sick, I would send a note to my staff saying I would be out of the office that day. I didn't need to come back and tell everyone the status of my GI virus or whatever. Yuck. And I have been known to take vacation time and not tell anyone at work where I was going. That's just me though. It doesn't mean I am living a fake life. I really don't think there are many times when anyone I don't know well has talked to me and said "TMI"--and I'm good with that. Again, if it is your preference to be open and share as much as you can about your life with others--I say go with your own comfort level. I won't judge you for it, and I ask that you please not judge me for my choices either. We are all going thru this together and there isn't a one-size-fits-all prescription. I love that we can learn about and respect each others' differences. -
Has anyone in the over 40 crowd noticed their libido increasing significantly as they lose weight? Weird question I know, but I am interested because it seems like a lot of things are changing as I lose weight.

Was THAT dumping? (Wine related)
freethinker posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am beating myself up for this one - 6 wks post-op and last night I drank 2 iced-down glasses of wine over about 2 hour period. It was dumb and I was not thinking because at 4 am I awoke with a burning tummy. TMI - but the bathroom was not pretty: sweating, wanting die, other gross things and me laying on the cold bathroom floor... I am thinking it was the sugar in the wine that caused the "dumping"?? I feel like craaaap today. -
FEBRUARY SLEEVERS 2013....how you doing after you've been Sleeved
firelle replied to DivaNurse's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
So here I am eating 2oz of a two-day old prepared plain Cream of Wheat packet (because that's how long it's taking to eat one packet) and 4oz of skim milk, while my husband brought himself home some supper and is currently eating what seems like the entire freaking Taco Bell menu. I made him go into the computer room to eat, but I can HEAR the crunching and SMELL the taco meat. I so want to crunch on something right now. On the TMI plus side, I finally went #2 today, the 4th day after surgery. It took an HOUR and I lost 1.2lbs. Afterwards, I was literally weak and shaky and felt like childbirth would have been easier. If I ever have a surgical procedure again, I will invest in a truckload of stool softener. -
Ok I hate to ask this but I can't be the only one who is having problems. I was sleeved Thursday and at home now. My issue is when I go number two how the heck do I reach to wipe? My incisions kill every time I even get close to bending in the correct direction. Thank goodness I am not really going 2 yet. I seem to be peeing every 10 minutes too. Anyone else having these issues? Also I want to take a real shower. How the heck do u do that? I have been using the wash wipes instead of a full shower but want to wash my hair but am scared about the Water hurting the Incisions and hurting.
