    The Maintenance Thread

I am never going to be able to maintain my weight with the little I eat argghhh Today I've only had one yogurt, 3 wings, a packet of protein chips, and a packet of dried seaweed. My plastic surgeon saw me today and said I looked awesome and not *gaunt* like some bypass patients end up.... but I'm on that path. Making turkey brats w/ coleslaw for dinner. Yesterday I ate straight JUNK knowing I would get sick but it was a lot of calories and I felt desperate in the moment to "stop losing". I did get sick, not shockingly. I'm about to have my plastics so I have GOT to get the cals and protein up for recovery. Big unf. I tried eating some beef veggie soup my stepdad made that *gasp* had TINY cubes of potato in it and it made me sweaty and nauseous. Edit: Just reading the few above comments. I DO know my BMR and it's 1350 (give or take). Which is comical since I eat about 600-700 cals tops (and obviously a lot less today).

    🍂 Nov 2019 Challenge🍂

Just starting today so a few days late. I actually have been thinking about needing to be more positive and grateful so once again, you have started a wonderful monthly challenge. 1. Personal Goal - lose and reach a goal I want badly for myself even though it is not 'low enough' for my height. I want to be around 170. The "charts" all want me to be 140 but I've been 170 before throughout many years of my adult life however that being said, I was younger and more physically fit and I had a SMALL waist and flat stomach so most ppl assumed I was much lighter than I was. So perhaps when I hit 170 with all of my excess skin, I may realize that I need to change this goal but for now that is the weight I'd love to reach. 2. Had RNY on 7/25 - Post-Op losing weight stage 3. Am 281.4 as of this morning (from high of 390) and BMI just hit 45!! Can't believe when I started this journey 2 years ago and started a low carb lifestyle (15+ months BEFORE surgery), that my BMI was 62.9! 11/1: Grateful I had WLS. Wish I had done it sooner, but glad I got it done 11/2: Computers & internet connectivity that make it possible to work on employer's network while working remotely. Was such a huge blessing to have a flexible schedule (although we work insane hrs) to help care for my best friend during her battle with brain cancer and then my Mom's awful 3 year battle with dementia. 11/3: Grateful I made it to another bday alive..although I'm not enamored of whole 'aging' thing, as my Dad used to say "it beats the alternative". Kind of feels weird as I'm am getting 'older' yet due to the weight loss and exercising, I feel better than I did in my 40's! I don't 'feel' my age. Oh yeah, food I'm most grateful for - Kroger Carbmaster yogurt! 11/4: Like others said - the birth of my kids. So many sweet memories of them when they were younger. But ANY memory of my Mom & Dad are some of the most precious ones I have. I had INCREDIBLE parents. One of my sweetest memories with my Mom (at start of dementia journey) was us seeing Susan Boyle perform at Bass Performance Hall. It was my bday present for her. My youngest brother paid to rent a 'limo' to see us to concert "in style". Well, this is TX but boy were we SHOCKED when a HUGE white limo with horns on it pulled into her driveway. It was so OVER THE TOP. My best friend who was still fighting her brain cancer battle cracked up hysterically over pics of my Mom in this limo with me & neon lighting all around..she said "your Mom looks like she is being held hostage". We both were laughing when the limo deposited us outside the performance hall and everyone was checking us out...LOL. The concert was lovely and my Mom who smiled all the time but often does not smile in pics...was so happy. We nestled against each other for most of the concert. Oh sweet Jesus, I miss her so much..thank you for letting me have her as a Mom.

It sounds like a stomach bug, and nothing related to the yogurt! Feel better. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Soft food diet

My first night on the soft food diet I made a pot roast and it was delicious. I was told you can eat anything soft. So soft cooked meats, veggies, eggs, yogurt. I have had chili, baked beans, brisket etc. I was told also no hard foods: chips, crackers, popcorn, nuts, and any tough meats. Anything crunchy. Hope this helps!
  5. I ate a small 4 oz container of yogurt yesterday. I think I am experiencing dumping. Although this is so much worse than I imagined. I have been so sick for the last 17 hours. I can’t keep anything down and minimal rest on bathroom floor. How long does this last?

    Whole Food Plant Based Eating

Ok, here it goes. I do major prepping for the week on Sunday. After church, I pop over to Spouts for the veggies and soy yogurt. Once home, I make a batch of granola for the week and store in jars. I shred up the salad basics (finely shredded brussell sprouts, red cabbage, carrots, with Romaine, spinach, kale.) That is BAG ONE. (Avocado and tomato added before eating.) Then I make BAG TWO which is the veggie munchie bag. I can add these to the salad, as well. (Peppers, carrots, celery, cucumber.) BAG THREE has veggies that I can steam or add raw to salad or use as munchies (cauliflower, broccoli, butternut squash, summer squash, green beans, etc.) CONTAINER ONE is prepped fresh fruit (citrus, apple/pear, grapes, kiwi, melon, etc.). I use this in the evening as dessert, mixed with yogurt, protein powder, and granola. In my freezer I have frozen berries, prickly pear juice, and banana chunks for my morning green smoothie. (Kale, soy milk, prickly pear juice, berries, protein powder, piece of banana.) I have seeds, nuts, and whole grains stored in jars in my pantry. I usually make a batch of soup on Sunday as well, for dinner. Last week it was chili. Week before it was lentil. Before that it was split pea. Today it was CHICKEN with veggies and wild rice. I am conceding to some meat product one day a week at most - but only from my own home grown chickens, eggs, or from my neighbor who raises goats. I am trying to model the plant based eating after real world societies where 80-90% may be plant based, but with intermittent animal sources like fish, eggs, wild game. Animal proteins are also used in these societies for celebrations like holidays or weddings. So I don't have a problem with a little meat on a holiday. From what I have read, an 80% plant based diet has the same effects on longevity, heart disease, and cancer as 100%. So this is what I am attempting. Hopefully my labs will reflect lower cholesterol and less inflammation. SAMPLE MENU FOR A DAY: (I prefer to skip breakfast, but have been adding the meal to increase daily calories.) BREAKFAST: Green smoothie or multigrain (any combo of whole oat, teff, quinoa, amaranth, buckwheat, millet, sorghum) cooked cereal with flaxseed, hemp, berries, soy milk (I usually use the cooked cereal breakfast before a training ride). LUNCH and afternoon: Legume/grain based soup (pea protein added), rice cake with peanut butter, black bean burger, 1/2 apple with almonds, Veggie munchies. Corn tortilla with refried beans/salsa. DINNER: "Budda" bowl (salad, beans, nuts, whole grain, seeds, tomato, avocado, olives, edamame, cashew "cheese" dressing.) Steamed veggies. DESSERT: Fruit/yogurt/granola bowl. Dark chocolate covered almonds. Occasionally some popcorn. That is a LOT of food. My pouch cannot handle any more.

    The Maintenance Thread

Yes, I thought of that. I am eating quite a bit in the way of nuts and seeds, legumes, homemade granola, oatmeal, butternut squash, sweet potato, avocado, peanut butter. I add protein powder to smoothies and yogurt. I even eat some 80% cacoa chocolate covered almonds in the evening. Can't think of more calorie dense foods, except for adding sugar, which I cannot do. Sugar and wheat cause massive inflammatory reactions in my joints.

11/ 2 & 3: Technology I'm most grateful for : it's a 50/50 split modern medicine and indoor plumbing 😂 Could you imagine being alive in a time without either😔 Food I'm most grateful for: IDK ? If you asked me a year ago I would have said yogurt because i ate it Every. Single. Day Now I barely touch the stuff. Same with a lot of foods for me. I love and leave them alone for a while IDK why. But Tea which isn't technically a food but a drink has never fallen out of my good graces since childhood 😍 I think I am briefly negative with myself when naked , I'm always like just fly to Miami tomorrow and get plastics NBD 😂

Food I am grateful for: Mine would have to be yogurt. I 💙 it! Kind of a sweet "treat".
  10. Yes, I can not eat more than 4 Oz still. Eggs and yogurt I can eat 5-6oz.

    Whole Food Plant Based Eating

Update on Whole Foods Plant Based diet. I continue to lose weight - I think 3 pounds in the past couple of weeks. I am not yet 100% plant based (still using some Greek yogurt, whey protein, and occasional egg in chaffles), but 90 % plant based. This means a lot more legumes, nuts, seeds and whole cooked grains. I am getting plenty of protein - no issues with that. A lot more carbs, which is so counter intuitive with weight loss, but it is still coming off. This morning before my bike ride I had a bowl of Old Fashioned oats, cooked with quinoa, teff, and amaranth. Added some hemp hearts, flaxseed meal, and barrel cactus seeds (like chia). Sweetened with raisins, and a little banana, with soy milk. Very yummy and filling. I ate this 2 hours before my ride. For lunch I had split pea/lentil soup with carrots, celery, onions. Also some fruit (cantalope and berries.) I added half a scoop of pea protein to the soup. Also had a spoon of peanut butter after my ride. Dinner will be a "Budda" bowl with shredded Brussels sprouts, red cabbage, romaine, spinach, cucumber, tomato, avacado. Cashew nut/nutritional yeast "cheese" mixed with apple cider vinegar for a dressing. Topped with slivered almonds, hazel nuts, dried edamame, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, barrel cactus seeds, and hazel nuts. Cooked beans, butternut squash, and cooked buckwheat on the side. If I have room, I will steam some squash and beans from the garden, along with some broccoli. I may also have a couple mini corn tortillas with refried beans and salsa. Evening snack is soy (or Greek) yogurt with mixed berries, mandarin orange, slivered almonds, and homemade granola. Sometimes I have a square of 80% cacao chocolate. I eat about 2 pounds of vegetables/fruit per day (mostly veggies). Legumes every day, seeds/nuts every day, whole grains every day. I am completely full all the time - never hungry. With prepped veggies always in the fridge, there is always something to grab if I feel the need for a munchie. I feel good - mentally alert, physically strong, sleeping well (better, in fact). I don't feel as "heavy" inside as when I was eating more meat. However, I do have to be careful for bloating and smelly gas. I found this to be a problem with raw broccoli and beans that I cooked without draining the soaking water. Even Beano did not help. Canned beans do not do this. It can be a problem with bypass patients, as our gut biome changes, and it is harder to digest and break down those particular foods. I just have to cook the broccoli and be careful with the home cooked beans. So far, so good. My fear about inadequate protein is completely dismissed. I am getting so much good nutrition and I hope inflammatory markers will be way down with my next lab draw in Feb.

    Filling So Full

That happened to me occasionally. Sometimes it was if I ate too much and irritated the pouch the day before so I backed off and just had liquids and soft foods like yogurt for 24 hours. It would also happen if I was busy at work and ate a lot less. It felt as if I was back to the first week after surgery and unable to get alot of food in. Either way after 24 hours I would go back to my normal.

    Easy Lunch Ideas

I like having yogurt for work lunches/snacks. Since it is a slider food I can eat a cup of high protein greek yogurt in less than 10 minutes. If I tried that with lunch meat I could only get a bit in. I would also take a string cheese and could stick it in my pocket and take a few bites in a stairwell or elevator between breaks just to get more protein in. If I was desperate I would also have protein water or protein shakes so i could get a few sips here and there.

  17. I want to start with this post was done in Word first and I have been working on it for two weeks or so. It is long …. but it is a compilation of 1000’s of read posts, which I took notes on, My history of hiring a Doctor, Nutritionist and the help of great friends who were psychologists, doctors and healthy. I want to thank this place it is filled with the most educated experienced people I have seen. Some help emotionally, This place is a wealth of knowledge! As I read posts I have notebooks I take notes in, Its only intention is to share, educate, and help. I am not a doctor, nutritionist or psychologist – However I have stayed at a holiday in express lately (for those confused it is a USA Tv Commercial Google it) Me: I have been gaining weight on a regular basis for the last 15 years, lose some gain it back. I was topping out at 394 – 6 pounds away from 400 lbs. Did a stint in the NCH cardio ward, and just was FUBAR. So I chose to do surgery. But I did it wrong, I since have fixed it but Messed up! So, from that disclaimer here we go – Mental Health (MH) -Vitamins/Minerals (VM) and Food (F) Subject #1 – Mental Health – I have chosen to put the three topics in the order I feel they should be addressed, My procedure. Starting with a little background one of the persons I have been seeing for a long time has a roommate who is a mental health expert. I was always intrigued by her and how she lived her life. She is comfortable with her mind and body, She is in good shape, her mind is sharp, always happy, has a doctrine of mental health, years of experience, and done 100’s of panel study’s on mental health. Worked for the FBI as a proffiler, studied the most deranged criminals, people who are just gone in rubber rooms, What kept my fascination, was her modern day hippie like lifestyle, If she wanted to be with a guy she would, Girl next time OK, Be alone Great. Worked a lot but was simple and life was good. He name is Kristina. Females let’s not get a lynch mob going, I choose to be with a gaggle of females, It is open and I don’t lie or hide it. Including my X wife who has described it as a need to push the envelope, I get bored easy and like the different personalities, and adventures. I always have to be in a whirlwind of energy and input. But nobody lies, No deceptions, No games. It works for me for now. This post is blunt and to the point. So nobody take offense just my view 45 days prior to my surgery I informed only a select group of family, Partners, and my management staff that I was scheduled for surgery, So one Saturday Night a girlfriend Susan was spending the night, A typical Sunday plan was set for the next day, lay by the pool, grill, nap music, TV. The on the 7th day he rested! First thing she said Sunday morning was, do you care if Kristina joins us today? Me being the typical male views two girls are better then one. Little did I know I was getting set up. So Sunday the three of us are hanging at my pool and having a good time when Susan gets out and says she will be back in a few hours, tons of files and work to do for Monday. This is typical since we all have careers and companies. After about 20 minutes of chit chat and being lazy Kristina comes to me and says. I need to talk to you as a Doctor of Mental Health and your friend I was informed you are having weight loss surgery. I get the defense on but was asked to listen. “Aj I approached you a few months back after I did the panel at Loyola Hospital in Chicago, If you remember it was on Alpha Mid aged males and condition of burning the candle at both ends, I was not on the panel 20 minutes when you were my perfect subject, Your moto to Work Hard, Play Hard and Stay Hard lifestyle was exactly what this panel was about.” I got defensive and clearly did not want to do this. Now I want to give you my professional diagnosis on this surgery. You CAN NOT DO THE surgery, you should not do the surgery, the surgery is a tool it is not a cure, remedy, or fix. It is a tool! If you do take this tool you will kill yourself, like any tool if you do not know how to use a tool you will get hurt or die. Your mental health is poor, and I feel you are looking to buy a quick fix to a problem, you will use this tool as a crutch and then you will weaponize this tool. You have had heart issues, and a lower GI problem will be more medical problems. I truly feel you will kill yourself unintentionally by using it as a crutch or quick fix. Of COURSE, I IGNORED HER! Post surgery I got this, No problems, yea right! For the first 30 days I spent all my time on food, focusing totally on food what to eat how to eat, total waste of time. At the end if 30 days I was FUBARED. I was dehydrated, malnourished, and a basket case. Those around me saw this and did all they could but I fought it, then one day I got a text. Aj you want my help? Kristina. I sat back and thought about it and laid ground rules and gave in. I agreed to let her do he Voodoo mental magic thing. Still being an Ass about it but at least opened the door a little. Her we go Persons History. I was asked to make a list of all my behaviors, habits, routines, addictions, issues, in a given history – We chose from Freshman college to current. Prior to that I was healthy, happy No mommy issues, all good. My partial list: Vodka-food-drive thrus- carry out- carbs – sugar – Harleys – boats – trips – non monogamous – trips – processed food- diet coke – more vodka – smoking- multiple relationships at same time- diet coke – 711- McDonalds – Uber eats – Sleep deprivation- French fries- Legal- Club fed Federal prison- delivery pizza – Lazy – Tv – eating out – boxed food – AND THE LIST GOES ON AND ON. You get the point. So, we carefully went thru it and it clearly showed I was out of control. I lived by two mottos Carpie Diem (Seize the day), and work hard, play hard, stay hard. It was clear I was not ready to have this surgery, but I had gone ahead and done it and was in poor shape. So, we broke the list out and focused on the mental health, getting most of it behind and moving forward. The simple thing is all these items in your list are your life, you can’t just wipe the hard drive, you have to address them head on. I did not do this prior to surgery or after surgery, and once I could not eat out, drink, etc. my head took over and played games. So, all the posts you see on Head Games – Fact! It took time but quickly I got my head in order, is everything on that list eliminated, No. But I clearly understand what I can do, what my choice for surgery affects my lifestyle, and my obsessions/habits have done to this body for 35 years. So a plan was put in place – Mental and Physical – None of us are in this forum because we are anorexic, bulimic, or in good mental health. We were fat and had mental issues! Sorry but the truth hurts. I was a mess, you have to be mentally ready to do this surgery, Do not do what I did, Make it easier on yourself, be ready Only my view: F#$ck Food! Section #2 – Vitamins and Minerals – Picture One below After you have your head on straight and are mentally ready you must understand nutrition. Don’t believe the internet, filled with adds and self-promotions. Keep it simple you must set up a Vitamin and Mineral plan for life. All of us are different and it requires a ton of work, blood tests, and dedication thru trial and error. I hired a nutrient specialist who really helped but it took trial and error. Understand it is not a simple pill, or plate of veggies. Each one of us lives differently Using me as a example I am very active and need a heavy dose of Vit/Min. My body does not process and store them very well, why? Who knows? I beat the hell out of it for 35 years. Also remember a 100mg multi vitamin does not contain all you need, also your body may pass up to 75% of it- So you are only getting 25% of 25% of what you really need to be in tune. This is a b***h to do, but if you get it calibrated it is a bigger improvement then losing the pounds, together they are amazing feelings. Focus on this and ask the more you get good at this the easier the journey. Don’t fall for the adds and marketing just set a plan that works for you. Below is a picture of my supplement program. The yellow thing in the middle is a Hero Pill dispenser, it is programmed to deliver vitamins all day. I do my morning daily hit and it delivers a different vit/Min at given times of the day. I have one in my office and one in my home, you program it and set the times, it texts me and beeps. You will also see liquid and powder supplements. To me these are base blocks for the program. I am not promoting any of them they are what I needed and they work. So get a plan and Get on it. Read the labels Not the pretty picture or advertisement. It is a math game - For me I take in 3 times what I need in a day, because some just passes thru, some I need more of for example Energy, Im close to balanced, I choose to use pills and powders because I don’t want to eat a plate of spinach vs a pill. Not saying don’t eat healthy but you do not have the ability after surgery to consume even a close amount of food for vitamins and minerals. Its not possible. Subject #3 – FOOD – Picture 3 F#@ck Food once again. This is what got us all in to trouble. Not only are we obsessed with it, but we abused it. We are/were FAT. Our unhealthy food intake over the years lead us to health problems and mental problems. Being fat sucks, nobody can say they love/loved being fat! So, you suffered physically and mentally till you made the right choice! Sorry to be blunt, but we did it – So deal with it and fix it. I am male so we are not as concerned about our bodies as females but we all agree we did this to be happy, Getting our food in line is a step: I still say F#@ck food and barely eat. But don’t follow my lead I know this to be wrong, just at war with food currently. 1. There is no doubt you have to use Protein Drinks to sustain your program. It is easy. You will see below what goes into mine. I forgot to put the actual protein drink in the picture … Sorry. But I rotate between them. I jack mine up from 20 g protein to 20 g additional added. I add scope of vitamins (Big Black container) to each one. The liquid Vitamin added 1.5 oz -Two Heaping tablespoons of yogurt, One Tablespoon Peanut butter, 2oz almond milk, and flavors. I use fruits to make it taste good and add flavors. Drop in ice and blend. I do rotate the vitamins I add one a day and grind it up. B-12 is my issue so I grind one up also. I pour 12oz and drink it by 1:00 pm – about 3 oz at a time. There is no way you could possibly want to eat – you will be full and blasted with vitamins and minerals. This does get old quickly, but it is a must. 2. Protein – Picture 3 – Prior to surgery I did not even have a separate freezer, I relied on eating out, delivery, or daily runs to the grocery store for unhealthy food. So I do say this – Give yourself a break, take your time shopping, read the labels, It is not easy. It takes time. Spend the extra dollar on something you like, buy a lobster you earned it! You are saving a ton of money not eating junk I choose to buy in large amounts and package proteins for daily meals. That freezer has beef, chicken, fish, shrimp, lobster, scallops, bacon, pork, and yes a few bags of vegies. Its is all you need post-surgery to eat. Yes, I am OCD and overstock but I have 2 teenage boys and tons of kids that show up to eat. It was so hard to get the food protein right, once you do …. Its game on. However hard it is you have to get off the food obsession, its over you had decades of good times with her, now move on. I choose to stay clear of eating out, just makes me uncomfortable and uneasy, but there are great posts on this all over this forum. 3. Last subject picture 4 – Once I got calibrated and in order I got a puppy as a present from a group of family and friends. Winston is my buddy, he is my support dog, and it is a tool that keeps me focused and off some of my bad habits and lifestyles. Everyone needs a tool find you damm tool and use it. This was a long dissertation and has views, I suggest you get good at these three things and the rewards are unlimited. Special thanx to all who have posted here, I have 100s of notes, This is just how I took all these posts, my research and came up with a solution. I have things to calibrate still and 28 pounds to go, but it was the best decision I ever made. Now Seize the Day , but in a healthy happy way.

    Conversion of Sleeve to Bypass

I had the band first and it eroded into my stomach, so had to have that removed and I gained back my weight plus some. Then I had a gastric bypass in 2012. Pre-surgery weight 321, now 165, low 155 after breastfeeding My youngest of four kids in 2014. The recovery is a lot harder, but well worth it. You have to keep up with your vitamins and protein, but it was the best thing that I could have done. Because if you eat sugar, YOU WILL BE SORRY. And then you just don’t really want it anymore. With the sleeve, you don’t have any of the eversions to sweets and with me I couldn’t drink milk, so no ice cream or yogurt which has a lot of sugar anyway so it helps in lots of ways to FORCE YOURSELF and it’s impossible to cheat unless you want to feel COMPLETELY MISERABLE for a taste of a candy bar. It’s not worth it so you don’t eat it. You will be back to that 167 in no time!! Especially with the three kids to keep you busy.

    Questions?

In your first week, as @catwoman7 posted, I would concentrate on water, protein drinks or shakes, bone broth, thin yogurt, etc. I did not have a calorie count, I focused on first hydration, and second, protein.

    October 2018 Sleevers

Hmm. Well, that's disappointing. Today is my 1 year anniversary, and this month is the first month I've gained weight (1 lb) and inches (2.75 overall). I understand how it happened - about 6 weeks ago I was finally able to eat more real food, so my body isn't used to getting more than 600 calories. Will talk to my doc/NUT on Friday at my appt. Hopefully, my body will eventually progress to tolerating raw veggies - that would really help with being able to eat lower calories. But, the good - I'm down 134 from my high weight, 112 from surgery weight. Lost 89% EWL. Only 13lbs over a healthy BMI. My doc tells patients to expect to get to a low point, then gain 10-15# over a few years. I had hoped where I am was the weight after a bit of regain, but I suspect I'm now at my low. I've been bouncing around the same weight for 7 weeks - about the same time I got out of the purgatory of only being able to eat yogurt. Hope everyone else is doing well.

    The Maintenance Thread

glad i decided to click to this thread via my "losing too much" post. such a bizarre challenge to have. lol. i feel like i ate a good amount this weekend (yesterday i had 3 egg whites, 2 turkey sausages, a large yogurt... thing... (cracker barrel, lol), 4oz filet mignon, a serving of cheddies, kiwi aloe drink, a pumpkin spice chai latte w/ almond milk, and 2 servings of zeroodle lentil fettucine w/ chunky spaghetti sauce and parm cheese) and was down another pound this morning. *head explodes*

    I don't want to/forget to eat

AJ so interesting you say that about your eyes. I know another woman who got surgery and her eyesight got better too!!! I do not think it’s a coincidence I think everything is related to our gut and our weight for the most part and that the old guys got it right when they said let thy food be thy medicine and if you’re sick - fast. Interesting thing though- the past couple of days I forced myself to eat more- I had to do it with shakes and soft food like yogurt and cheese for the most part to get my calories higher and Lost (not only the 1.5 I inexplicably gained when I d had just 500 cals a day ) but an extra 1.5 so three pounds I’ve lost in 3 days and I had 1100 calories a day. I worked out Friday but not Saturday and Sunday and I ate within a 4- 6 hr window. I know my body in the past would shut down after too many low calorie days but I thought post surgery that would change but maybe not. I’m going to stay with IF and keep my calories in the 800-1000 range for the next 4 days and see if my body likes it. How exciting your eyesight got better! I hope mine does too! And I can’t wait to see how your journey unfolds.

mine is protein shakes for breakfast and lunch 3-4 oz meat with 1 cup vegetable and 1/4 cup starch for dinner. I CAN have two snacks a day of greek yogurt sf jellp sf pudding broth sf popsicles OR 1 snack a day of a small fruit .
  25. I got my surgery the same day (vsg) and what is keeping this phase interesting for me is mixing flavors. For example, today I had a half of a cup of butternut squash soup and I added some plain/nonfat/sugar free green yogurt sort of mimicking sour cream. I am also added things like cinnamon and nutmeg to my vanilla shakes or to plain yogurt. Tuesday I can start purées and I’m almost nervous as I’m losing so fast/quickly that I worry it will slow down! Lol I honestly have no appetite and have to force myself to eat. Yes, my brain misses normal food but we can do this! We can fight the demons that made us overweight!!
