  1. I drank a few sips of ice tea and vodka and now I feel like there a lump in my throat and my stomach hurts! I REGRET THIS Surgery so much... why did I do this I wasn't huge the scale said that but I had a flat stomach big legs, no HBP, no Diabetes, just IBD, AND GERD! WHY I have no identity now. Eating out, at home, drinking gave me so much pleasure. I feel so stupid. I can't even eat more than 2 bites, I don't want this anymore. I even quit my job. I hate it here! My throat hurts so weird Sent from my SM-G998U using BariatricPal mobile app

    10 weeks post op

So just about 10 weeks post op. No issues at all. No pain, I have had zero issues with any foods i have tried, zero issues with any drinks i have had. scars have healed up very nice, Vitamin intake has been good. only causes nausea once in a while. still taking medication for at least a year to prevent gall stones. Heart burn has been zero after the first couple weeks (which was very bad) My daily meals typically consist of either a chicken egg or 2 quail eggs with onions, banana peppers and cheese (Or if i am not feeling like food, i have a core power protein shake) Lunch typically either grilled chicken or tuna Dinner for most days i have grilled king salmon I went out to eat for the first time a few days ago. Friends and I were on a boat fishing and we decided to ride over to a restaurant on the water and i ordered the Grilled Shrimp that came with French fries. Out of the 10 grilled shrimp i could only eat 5 of them. I also had probably 7 fries out of the basket. But still it was nice. Gave the rest of the food to friends to eat since we were still going to be out on the water for a bit. Clothing has been a change. I have had to buy a new belt as the old one was too big as well as my pants. Shirts so far i am down from a 3-4 XL to 2XL ALMOST DOWN 60LB so far
  3. Hello all, according to guide I have from my doctor: this is what I can take week 1 below. I am confused on how to make a creamed soup as I don’t soup. Are there suggestions for a soup for week 1? Something that is easy to make? Can I have chicken broth instead of a creamed soup? My second question is about light yogurt blended with skim milk as that it was it listed in the picture I have posted. Any recommendations of a yogurt I can pick from target or Walmart to satisfy this requirement? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. How do you stay focused? I'm struggling a bit the past three days.  All I want is sweets and carbs.  I have no clue what changed but for some reason I'm craving hard.  I'm literally dreaming about food and when I wake up, I'm thinking about my next meal.  I'm not "hungry" but so munchy.  I'm trying to stay focused, busy, exercise and the likes but this looking struggle is getting to be so hard.  I meet with my nutritionist tomorrow and I'm so hopeful she has some advice.  My protein intake is great, liquids on point, even throwing in some raw veggies and berries to curb the sweet/carb craving.  Thoughts?

  5. Hi Everyone, I had the sleeve done in FEB 2022. I've lost a total of 30 lbs, which considering I was losing 1/2 pound a month before surgery. I'll take it! Figured I would be honest with myself, my calorie count has sneaked up from 800-1200, not every day, but most. I'm also eating carbs. I do not lose when doing carbs, they have to be few and far between. The good news is, Salads are on the menu again! That makes life so much easier and easier to avoid carbs. This is disappointing and I'm a bit surprised because I'm physically hungry most of the time! Thought I would share to see if anyone else has this problem. I need to clean my diet up, resume meditating everyday and throw out the carbs! And walk more. I have a new puppy I wasn't expecting and it has turned my world upside, but no more excuses! Good luck to all of you.
  6. Hi. First time poster 13 days out from ESG. The first week was super rough. I’m feeling pretty great now. I am down 12 pounds since the procedure. I’m consuming about 750 calories on average and I’m getting my 60-80 grams of protein. I have no idea how many calories I should be taking in. I am doing strenuous workouts three times a week (just started, I’m a week into it. Orange Theory for the win!). Would love some insights from the group!
  7. I’m just three weeks post operation and have had one fainting spell. Is this normal?

    Second Month Stall?

So this kicks off month two post sleeve surgery and my weight loss has slowed down some. I had the three week stall; had a little movement last week and then nothing again. I havent changed much; the only thing I've added is veggies (zucchini, tomato, and mushrooms have been added back). PRotein is still the same, exercise is still the same or higher since now I can swim. I'm sure hormones are just f'ing with me, but is this common?
  9. I have lost 100% off my excess weight, as I now sit at a “healthy” BIM. My loss just stopped when I hit 168. I thought, ok fine, maybe this is ever I was meant to land. 3 months later…the scale has started going down again. I didn’t really change what I’m doing food wise, just started walking more as the weather has improved. So a year out, things can still go down 😊
  10. Hi everyone Not sure if theres anyone else out there feeling like this. Im on soft stage so having things like egg/ricotta/spinach baked in oven or egg/ricotta pan fried without oil or little bit cous cous with veges or shepards pie, supposed to have half cup volume but im lucky if i have a whole tablespoon worth, i count 20 seconds between each bite and i get these pains in my chest and back, its unbearable. I take medication for heartburn. I constantly feel weak & lethargic Sent from my SM-S908E using BariatricPal mobile app

    11 Weeks Post Op

Hello all! I am 11 weeks post op and I was curious to know who else is 11 weeks post op and how they’re feeling/doing so far! 🙂🙂
  12. I am 2 weeks almost 3 weeks post op and 2x now when I get on the scale I have gained 2 lbs from the day before. Super frustrating and I'm not sure why. I weigh myself first thing in the morning too. Is it water weight? I mean I eventually lose the weight again a day or two later but still. Sent from my SM-G970U using BariatricPal mobile app
  13. Hi everyone, I have found this website helpful so I thought I would ask. I am almost 8 weeks post op and I usually just alternate between tuna or grilled chicken daily. I have tried ground beef and I would say my stomach handles it better than chicken. Chicken is pretty harsh sometimes. I eat alot of Poke too but I feel like I haven't really experimented with alot of food yet. Not even salad. I am going on vacation in a few weeks when I am almost 3 months post op and was wondering when it was ok to try sushi with rice or thin meat like Carne Asada or Barbacoa or Korean bbq? or corn and flour tortillas ? Also, alot of people say they can't tolerate a certain food. What exactly does that mean they vomit or it hurts ? Thanks for the help
  14. Hey everybody! I hope some of you can relate and give me some peace of mind! So I’ve been making some spinach/feta/egg white wraps the past couple nights for dinner and timing my bites, 1-5 minutes between nibbles, and after I’ve finished I feel so horribly full. I weigh and measure everything, I know my macros. Anyway, Im thinking I should definitely eat only half. I know for sure that last night and tonight I ate more than I should have. Is this common for everyone when navigating the new regular diet? I’m so scared that I’m going to start stretching my pouch out early on and sabotage myself. It can’t just be me?!
  15. Hey guys I’m about 8 months out and I’m in a stall. I can not get the weight to drop and I swear it is creeping up or staying the same. I also am loosing motivation and the body dismorphia is worse. I had the gastric sleeve, I’m 23 and I just want to keep going but I need help. I am about 25lbs to my goal weight. Please help I need it
  16. So i started the pre op diet on April 4th. Surgery April 18th. So far these are my stats 6 weeks post op. Always do my measurements on the 4th of the month. Not bad. Wish it was a little quicker but not bad for 6 weeks post op.

    2 weeks post op

I had my surgery the 16th of May lost 25lbs the first week (I don’t see it yet) but Im truly struggling to get my protein in and my water. Any advise on this would be amazing! I have spoken to the dietitian and she said it’s completely normal and not to worry but I am really worried I’m not doing this right and I don’t want to fail! My dr has me on the soft diet already and I did explain my stomach doesn’t handle the protein shakes well and he even advised maybe try beans, eggs, etc. just looking for some advice or maybe others who have or are struggling too.
  18. 6 weeks post op and got my bicycle from the shop a couple weeks ago and been riding. been using my bicycle instead of my car to get around and get things done. takes longer but its actually fun. 3 more days until my monthly weigh in and body measurements that i do on the 4th of every month. hopefully i lost some weight and got a bit smaller lol I also have yet to experience any issues with any foods.
  19. Hi all! Hope you are all doing well! I will start my week 6 tomorrow. Where I can have a lot more of a variety of foods. I’m nervous, but excited. I do have some questions though. I’m meeting my protein goal of 60g minimum, and most of the time, my water goals as well. But, I’m hungry a lot. Surgery was 4/28 and I loved for the first week and for the first time in my life, I wasn’t hungry. It was so nice to not think about food…lol. But, it didn’t last long. I’m following my doctors program to the tee as much as I am physically able to! I don’t know if I’m not eating enough or what. I am worried about eating too much in a sitting, and I’m wanting to develop good habits, so I set a timer for my meals, chew 25 times, and wait 1 min between bites after I’m finished chewing. I don’t eat and drink at the same time either. But I’m hungry!!!! I focus on protein first as well. But it feels like I’m just hungry all the time. Eating every 2-3 hours. So for example, I get up around 8am and drink a cup of decaf coffee, and then try to sip on water or Gatorade Zero until I’ve finished 16oz. Then, I make sure I’ve not drank for 30 minutes and start on breakfast. I usually have been having a Ratio yogurt (the one that’s lower fat and 25g of protein) and add a Tbsp of fresh blueberries and a Tbsp of gluten free Bob’s Red Mill Muesli to it for some fiber. I feel full after that (most of the time I can eat it all, but not all the time) then I wait the 30 or longer to start drinking again. By 12:30, I’m starving again, so I’ll grab a Fairlife protein shake and sip on that until it’s gone. But I’m still hungry, so I’ll wait another 30 minutes or so and by then it’s almost 2-3pm and then I’ve been having about 1/4-1/2 cup of egg salad with one of those Sargento mini triscuits and cheese things. They’re pretty small, but feel like just enough. I feel full after that too, but feel like it never lasts long enough. And by 5pm, I’m starving again. So dinner since I have one more day of soft foods, is more egg salad and another Sargento cheese and mini triscuit thing, or soup. And then between liquids, or about 8pm, I’ll have another protein yogurt. Am I doing something wrong? Is it because I’m not quite on solid foods? I am trying so hard to do this the right way. Any advice? Thank you so much for reading this far!! Tasha

    Three Months

Today is my three month anniversary. I can now eat solids! Doing ok, still rare occasional foamies, to avoid it I now watch the second hand on the clock and time each bite. Lost 52 pounds, mostly everywhere but my stubborn tummy. What I’m looking forward to is being to eat salad. Anyone out there have any problems with lettuce? I’m a little nervous about it as it seems like it might be hard to digest. Also every time I try something new I get nauseous after the first bite, then after a few minutes it goes away. Then after that if I eat the new thing again it doesn’t happen. It’s almost like my stomach is deciding if it wants to accept or reject a new food. Any one experience that? Any feedback would be appreciated.
  23. hi my doctor has me on protein shakes for the next six weeks and she wants me to buy a chicken broth protein shake called unjury anyone has tried it before ? doesn't sound like it tastes good wanted to ask if anyone has tried it or if any other recommendations?

      Jen-ny

Hi! Yes! I’m drinking Unjury chicken soup right now when I saw your post! 😃 Its very good, I highly recommend it! It’s not thick like a shake or soup, it’s more like a broth consistency but it’s much more flavorful than broth. It mixes easily. Unjury actually has French onion soup flavor, and beef and herb. They’re all very tasty. They have “soda” flavored protein powders too. (No carbonation or caffeine.) I really like the moonbeam mist flavor. I hope this help!
