I just saw a Poise commercial and I realized that it's been 2 weeks since my surgery and since Spring has come to the Pacific North West my allergies are in full swing AND I am no longer wetting myself when I sneeze. Hehehe, sorry if it's TMI for some.

Things to look forward to Post Surgery?
RWHIT43 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
ok ok...now that I made my choice and decided to change my weight I have had time to think about some of the things I look forward to after I go through the operation and begin my change in lifestyle. I look forward to learning to eat better, put myself first instead of last, get in better shape, weigh less, laugh more, smile more, buy smaller clothes, look ok tan, be able to swim without a shirt on, and improve my sex life and make it hot! Shallow and silly to some these reasons are, and maybe a little TMI but they are the things that keep me motivated. -
I just had my first salad last week and Im almost 4 months out. I had heard other stories about how salads made them run for the bathroom and honestly, thats what I was hoping for but no I had 2 salads that week (a 1/2 ounce of chopped turkey and a half an egg on it). I think I may have a sleeve of steal because nothing that Ive eaten has ever bothered me and Ive never thrown up. I can say that avocados make me run for the bowl though Sorry for the TMI but poop gets me excited lol.

I lost 18 then stopped. I don't know if it is because I am constipated or what...yeah. I know tmi, but I haven't gone in over a week.

Sorry if its tmi, but I thought I'd ask some advice on my problem. Last summer I had nova sure done and it stopped my intense, heavy and never ending period(s). Last month I began bleeding after sex. I went to the gyn who checked me out, took swabs and sent me for an ultrasound. Gyn came back and told me I have adenomyosis and that my uterine lining is growing back rapidly, it grows through the muscle. So she suggested a hysterectomy. I have birthed 7 kids and no longer need it so no problem there. BUT after going through nearly 3 weeks of pain with my sleeve surgery, I am scared to death to have another abdominal surgery just to be in pain for another 2-3 weeks. has anyone else been through anything similar? I am having a hard time stabilizing my weight. I am clueless as to why but my weight fluxes so rapidly and unpredictably. No exageration. Last week I weighed in. Last weekEND I weighed in more than 5 pounds less. Today, yet another 5 pounds less and if it follows it s usual pattern I will likely be back at the starting point by s ome time next week. All I can figure Is Water weight, but I eat the same allthe time (admittedly I could deff lower my salt intake) why would it flux by so much so fast? I know I need to figure this out because how the heck can I lose weight when I can't even control it, and I wanna do so pre-op. Could it be hormonal??? (Sorry gents but small TMI ahead) I have severe PCOS... like 2x worse than it was 2 years ago and it was bad then. I haven't had a natural AF in well over a year, I induced one last June, and recently tried to do so again but only got spotting this time... no AF. If its hormonal then I am screwed because the only reset button I have is provera (to induce AF) and that's not working. This has been going on for a few months and I don't yet have ins. Coverage to talk to my doc about it, he called in the script for me as it was. Any thought, hints, tips on what could be causing it and what I can do about it? I am desperate to get it under control so I can show my sugeon I am serious about changing but that's gonna be hard if he weighs me in one month then the next I have Gained 10-15 pounds. TIA.

Holy moly! TMI warning ahead. The pain in my chest and back this morning was the most frightening thing I have every gone through. Apparently, forgetting to take my birth control pill last night and slugging it down first thing this morning caused my sleeve to wage a full scale attack! About a hour later I had vise-grip pain below my breastbone through my back. I got dizzy/weak and wasn't sure if I should sit, lay down or just pray for sudden death. I literally had the phone in my hand to call 911. I was sure I was having a heart attack. And then it came. The dry heaves like I see the cat perform before delivering a hair ball. More TMI alert- feel free to stop here. Then, I puked and pooped at the same time. It was horrible!!! I call my sleeve, Sleevie and now know she is a girl because she is a complete, effing bi-otch! I kind of hate her right now. Oh and my Dr says I need to go back to clears and then full liquids until she calms down. Damn you Sleevie!

Has any one had issues with acute urination pain or a feeling of ongoing constipation in the front? How about having to get up 5-7 x at night to use the bathroom. I do make an effort to dry out before going to bed, but 5-7 x?? To me these sound like worse case prostate cancer and best case UTI when looking up symptoms online, but I am only 36. I have never experienced either of these before. The symptoms have gotten worse in the last few months. The pain during urination does not happen every time, but when it does, it can be felt in the tract and radiating up towards the bladder. Sorry if TMI. Trying to be as informative as possible to trigger a recognition from someone. For sure, I will set up an appointment with my PCP. Wanted to know if this could be something else or has anyone else experience with it. I have taken chia seeds daily for 4 months to help with the daily BM now plus my krill oil supplement. I have read somewhere there is a link between long term use of omegas (chia seeds are high) to p-cancer, but don't want to get excited about anything until a doctor diagnoses something. I tend to be symptomatic about a few thing since surgery which did not turn into anything (at least not yet) so trying to take this one slow. Let me know what you think. Other then this issue, I am in very good health.

I am on day 6 of the preop diet. My surgery is Thursday. Woo hoo. And all has been well until last night. My stomach feels horrible. I was up until 4:30 this morning feeling like I'm gonna puke, but my stomach is grumbling like its hungry. Then iv gone to the bathroom a billion times. Between peeing, gas, and "loosish" stool (TMI sorry ) I'm exhausted. Now, I may be over thinking because I'm an over thinker. It's what I do. But am I getting sick???? Lord I hope not. My preop diet consists of 3 Protein shakes, 5oz piece of meat and either 1 cup of cooked veggies or 2 cups of raw veggies. And I have stuck with this plan except for one small bite of Mac and cheese to taste the flavor because my kids were complaining. Ahhhh HELP!!!!! Sleeve Date: March 28, 2013 First Goal 50lbs: July 13, 2013

Has anyone used Dr. Jaime Ponce DeLeon
julielle replied to armywife77's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I asked about vitamins and he told me basically if I eat whole foods I shouldn't need vitamins. I thought that was strange as well so I researched what other doctors recommend and I'm taking a multi, sublingual B12 and 1200-1500mg of Calcium citrate. I take extra iron during my period since I have a heavy flow (TMI). There is a food list, it's a 2 month or so eating plan that he gives. -
I'm not sure there is one. My doctor allows both immediately following surgery--and he is super strict about things (ie, no yogurt or pudding allowed during full liquid, strict rules about drinking calories, had to strain (not just puree) soups during full liquids--etc). I would always follow what your own surgeon says, but this was my experience. Before surgery, I only drank coffee on weekends bc sometimes it would give me diarrhea (TMI?) but now I am soooo grateful for it bc it helps keep me regular.

How are fellow March 19/20 sleevers doing?
Linda 66 replied to WeightStruggle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is the first post from me prior to surgery. I was sleeved 3/19 and stayed 3 nights in hospital. Blood pressure was high heart rate was low. All day on day 2 I had nausea and puking up black ( old blood) which was normal smh. I was afraid to leave the hospital lol I thought they could take care of me God forbid anything. I'm a chicken lol. Since I'm home I force myself 2 drink perhaps 16 oz a day but starting tomorrow I will get on track. I have nooooooo desire to eat but that always is the case with me after surgery. I had a cpl ice pops, isopure protein, some oatmeal and that's all. I have no interest in getting on scale till I get staples out this week. As far as BM! I had one Thursday and since then if I have to pee I have a little Very very little diarrhea tmi but sharing. I had my drain out and honestly for me it was fine...just odd. Anyone sleeping on their side yet? I hate to sleep on my back I prefer side or belly. My worst pain has been my neck and shoulders I don't know if that is gas or because I kept falling asleep sitting up. And my head would hang lol. I hope we all continue feeling better and do awesome! -

This is a WAY TMI post.. but I need help!
ashbhey posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm really not kidding or exaggerating.. This is super tmi.. Turn around now if you're easily grossed out! Sooooo.. Two issues. One is for my fellow lady sleevers... I got sleeved Monday (so I'm 6 days post OP). I started my period Wednesday, 3 weeks early (I'm on birth control to have it once every 3 months). I can't remember the last time I bled this bad. I mean, it's REALLY heavy. Is this normal? Second TMI question... I can't stop pooping! Every hour-ish I'm running to the potty. I have no idea why! I'm on a liquid diet! And it's a very liquidy #2, but still.. I'm only 6 days post op.. It's REALLY hard for me to turn the necessary ways in order to wipe my bum.. Especially 10 times a day. Any insight or advice? -
Negative Boyfriend
beba238 replied to Stranger 123's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
He's being so negative. He probably has low self esteem. Now that you feel and look good he should be saying things like "dam you look HOTT' or "come here and so i can screw you with that on" lol sorry TMI... i know it sucks cuz its been 2 years but it is not worth it honey. He will bring you down and you are in a roll. You don't need him making you feel bad causing you to probably go grab a burger or maybe he encourages you to eat the wrong things. GIRL LOOK HOW CUTE YOU ARE. Kick him to the curb because there are much more guys waiting for you to come walkign by with your new bathing suit. Good Luck hun and hang in there!!! -
Unfortunately, there is really nothing that will get rid of trapped gas once it is in your lower intestines. Moving your body to move the gas down and out of the digestrive tract, is really the only way to get rid of it. Gas-x/simethicone works ONLY in the stomach. It does not work once food has entered the digestive tract. When I was in the early stages I would eat (or drink) the meal and use the Gas-x strips the dissolve on your tongue. DONT wait until later - they are most effective when the food is in the stomach. Think of bubbles on the surface of liquid that come to the top and pop. This is what Gas-x does. When I was farther out - about at 3 weeks I found the chewable pills to work better immediately after a meal to allieviate that gas feeling. Be proactive and treat after eating - taking Gas-x more that an hour after a meal is almost a waste of money. Nothing stops gas after it is already in your bowels - except moving it out. Sorry if TMI:) Bean-o is also very effective at preventing gas from forming from beans, vegetables and whole grains. Consider adding a probiotic once you are cleared for pills capsules - I recommend Florastor - one of the few probiotics backed by double blind/placebo scientific studies. Worth the expense. Good luck - remember - prevention

Don't get me wrong..I WANT to do this...I NEED to do this but can you please share your surgery experience with me? How did you feel after and what should I expect when it comes to pain? Any other info you can give would be great too! I'm freaking here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm also nervous about them cutting part of my stomach out. It's just a weird thought!

Hey girl, I am still in the hospital, I am having the same pains as everyone else with the gas, my esophagus is almost closed as well, It is so painful to eat, so I stay away from my food tray. I am getting hungry tho for the things I can't have. Watching these commercial on TV don't help none..lol I feel sorry for your husband..I know what he is going through. lol I just starting passing gas last night & finally had a BM..(I know TMI).. -
Hi again. Before I wrote from my phone and I said to use aloe. A few years ago before the band and having a huge stomach, I needed to have a mole removed and they used tape to tape the fat (I know TMI) and being sensitive to tape I had red looking burn marks. My cousin is a nurse and she said use aloe. The next morning, GONE! Good luck.

Hello everyone, my name is Alicia and I had my VGS surgery on March 7 2013 so I just completed my 2nd week. So far I have lost twenty pounds. I am very excited and feel truly blessed with this surgery. I decided to post because I don't know any one that has had the sleeve besides me and I would like to hear from others about their experiences (I would also like to share mines also) My sister and one of my best friends had the gastric bypass but I'm finding that their experiences are different than mine. I'm still on my high liquid protein/puree stage of the diet and will be on that until April 11th. I'm looking forward to getting to know every one better. I do have a few questions and I would really appreciate it if any one can share their experiences. Do any of you still have food cravings? I know it's head hunger lol. I don't have any hunger pains or anything during my cravings. I'm just making sure I'm not going crazy still craving foods. Also has any one had any issues with being lactose intolerant? My RD told me not to worry about that because most sleeve patients don't become lactose intolerant. I'm starting to think that's not the case with me. I become very gassy and bloated when I drink any protein shake milk. . . even nonfat pudding. I also have been getting headaches for the past two days. I do a lot of walking and I'm wondering if I'm not getting enough fuel in my body. Also some times I feel full and then other times I can drink a protein shake or have a pudding and an hour later my body or maybe it's my head, is telling me that I need more fuel in my body. One last thing and I hope it's not to much TMI, in the beginning is it normal not to have a bowel movement for a few days. I think I'm freaking out more about this than anything. Thank you for taking the time to read my post and again I'm looking forward to getting to know you all better.
