Miss a few days & miss lots of fabulousness. Love that skirt & tweed jacket @AngieBear & I can’t wait to see you looking glamorous at your gala @Sophie7713. Congrats on your nsvs @november11 - looking good. I love spots & stripes too @kristieshannon. Big love to @AngieBear & @Sophie7713 promoting self worth. Sadly, making judgements about others based only on how they look is becoming endemic in society. I put my hand up shamefully & admit to have done it too. Worse that, in a previous life I taught 11/12yr old girls & would push individuality, resilience, self confidence & respecting others. Went to see my surgeon today. Bought the dress about 6wks ago & it’s a little big now. Those 2.5kgs I unintentionally lost have dropped me down a dress size (pity party thread followers know of my pain).

Truly an NSV!! 👍👍 I am looking forward to the day I can wear riding boots, for fashion only. (My daughter is the equestrian.)
  6. Nsv Two weeks after surgery I returned to work wearing slacks that I was unable to fit into for 2 years prior. Perfect, comfortable fit. Today (2 weeks later) I had to roll the waist of the same pants over just to not look like a hobo. They're hanging off of my hips and way too loose!! Time for some shopping!

Not Losing. . . except my mind.

Hey fellow Bandsters, I'm in the same spot with a lot of you...going for my second fill tomorrow because after my first one in January, I lost a bit but not much and I feel very little restriction. I know I fell off the exercise wagon in January, and February is shaping up to be much better in that regard. I haven't been eating what I should, and I'm getting better there too. Not as bad as I used to be, but not as good as I should be. I'm praying my second fill gives me a good level of restriction so I can break some of my bad food habits and keep moving forward. I am exercising more and soon will be eating less. I am a big fan of The Biggest Loser and they do talk about our bodies needing to adjust - perhaps this is what some of us are going through? Our bodies are so used to hanging on to EVERYTHING we eat that they have become really efficient at it - and it may take a while for them to realize we're really not 'starving' them and they can let go of the weight. Of course take this advice with a grain (or a pound) of salt, because I haven't figured it out either, but I'm still trying LOL I have had NSV's - my clothes are fitting better and my blood sugar numbers are much better. Hopefully I'll be off the meds soon and can say I am a former type II diabetic. Maybe setting mini-goals that have nothing to do with pounds can help - I am challenging myself to do my normal 30-minute walk in less time for the same distance - meaning I have to move my butt faster. Here's hoping it works! :tongue2:

Here's my most recent NSV! Went out with a "friend" the other night, and wanted to dress to impress. I think I managed it! Oh, and the shoes are the first heels I've worn in years! I wore them till 4 in the morning without too much pain!

NSV in my 6th month.. Went to an appointment today. The receptionist has not seen me since I had surgery. (105 pounds ago) She was flat out shocked. She asked me if I stopped eating. I disclosed that I had sleeve surgery. She told me that I had better results than people she had seen on the biggest looser. Funny...she said I looked hot and grabbed my thigh..Humm how the hell do I take that. I have a hard time seeing what other people see when they look at me. I'm always taken back by responses that I get from people that knew me as morbidly obese. What a hilarious day

My boss and co-worker keep telling me how jealous they are of my hourglass figure and how they wish they had a tiny waist like mine.

:clap2::clap2:OMG Debbie you look wonderful!!! You and Lady are doing great! I know you have to feel like a million bucks. WTG with the NSV, it the greatest feeling when people notice all your hard work. Special K, girl you are moving right along in your journey. I feel like it is taking FOREVER.... its been 9 months so far! But there is an end in sight. Keep a jumpin'!! Lady, Heath is east of Columbus right between Newark and Buckeye Lake. Kind of like Reynoldsburg is between Pickerington and White hall, only closer. I can be at 256 in about 15 minutes (without lots of traffic) DH and I go to church in Reynoldsburg and it takes about 20 minutes to get there. BTW 50 lbs is amazing!!! :whoo: You guys really do inspire me and help me keep faith that this is gonna happen for me too. Sue, I feel you pain with the doctors. My psych eval was 500.00 and insurance didn't pay one red cent!!!! You would think after all the $ we pay into our insurance company that when we need something they would cover it. So when will you hear if you are approved or not??? I would think with sleep apnea that it would be a sure thing for getting approved. Hang in there my friend, we will get through this. Hey Dorothy! How are you doing? I hope you all have a blessed day!
  15. I think I was so unhappy with myself that it did put a strain on my marrige. Like most couples we still have all the same issues IE money , teenager, hard work evrey day on and on. But I feel so much better about myself now that I am much happier in my marrige and life style. One of my main reason for getting the Lap Band, was to be able to participate more in my own life. I can now walk with my hubby and daughter and keep up and go ahead sometimes intead of sitting on the couch with a glass of wine I go to Zumba. I love that every day is a new NSV. I still have a long ways to go but I know I will make it in time. So I think it has made my relationship with my husband and daughter soooo much better. When the times get hard I can handle it so much better now. I have a new inner strength. This helps me deal and cope so much better than before. On that note I will say it aint easy LOL. Good luck on the 15th.

I'm embarrassed because this is such a pathetic NSV, but I figured if anyone would understand, it would be someone on this forum. I went to my family doctor yesterday for weigh-in and blood pressure check, and the doctor put the cuff on me. I immediately told him he put the regular cuff on by mistake, not the "fat" cuff he always has to use. But he said - I think this one fits now - and it did! Still a long long way to go, but this felt kind of good.

found this post and LOVING it... about halfway thru all the NSVs.... so I'd like to add of few of mine: 1. was able to cross my legs was HUGE when I realized I could do that...but I was able to cross them in a movie theater and had room!!! 2. the pants falling down issue happened with me too, my new friend-a belt!!! I never used one before. 3. smaller EVERYTHING... donated to GW and cleared out closet...the other day I was wearing one of my newer blouses and my friend told me to get rid of it, it's too big and made me look frumpy! I'm sure there have been many more, but just being able to walk up a flight of stairs without losing my breath speaks to the healthier side of me...LOVE MY SLEEVE!!!!

Sell your old clothes on Poshmark, and then you'll have money to buy new ones! That's what I've been doing, it works great! Oh, for my latest NSV: Went shopping at American Eagle two days ago, a store that I always liked pre-surgery, but couldn't fit into any of their clothes... anyway I had tried on a size 8 jeans, and they were too big! I had to go to a size 6!

Wow! No posts on here for awhile! I have had two NSVs in the last couple weeks that I was so excited about I had to share! 1) I have collarbones!!!! They're not skinny people collarbones yet, but they are most definitely there. I never woulda guessed. :sad0: 2) I went to a movie theater last week...and was shocked that I didn't need to use the armrests! I don't know that I have EVER had that happen. I've shrunk enough width-wise that my arms fit comfortably inside the armrests. Such a great one for me! :lol0: Keep posting here, guys! This is one of my favorite threads to read! :blushing:

…and another NSV: My primary was so thrilled, that she ran two blood tests. My A1c is down from 12.2 to 9.6. Allowing for the fact that it's really just been the past month that my bloodsugar has improved, it's a pretty big jump. And my Fructosamine came back… wait for it… NORMAL! It's a miracle.
