April 2013 Post-Op Group
6GP2008 replied to Wendilou's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So I'm one week post op and I really haven't had a bowel movement. I sat on the toilet on Monday but nothing really (sorry for the TMI). So my question is has anyone else had this issue. I figured that I didn't really have to go because I've been only drinking liquids.... -
Lets talk about sex...
No game replied to MsVictorious1020's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lmao!!! I kept reading "came into me" instead of "came onto me" I had to read it three times before I got it right! Damn dyslexia!! I was like wow yeah TMI!! Anyway I'm happy for your new found intimacy with the husband, it's one if those many perks! -
Warning TMI alert! OMG! I'm not sure if its because of the weight loss but tonight for the first time in over 2 years my husband came onto me! He initiated sex all on his own and he had no trouble getting "prepared". I'm literally in tears over the shock and excitement. He never initiates sex nor does he show any desire to be with me. Maybe it was the weight loss or maybe the new dress but he NOTICED me and actually liked it. I can't believe it. I'm still in shock. We had hot sweaty sex before I almost had a heart attack. Lmbo. I didn't want to freak him out and start crying.

Although I have never been banded, I have suffered from IBS for the last 15 years. Having the sleeve was the best thing I could have done for my IBS. I've had maybe 3 flares in the last 5 months, which only lasted a few hours each time. I'm more "normal" now, than I've been most of my life. Sorry if that is TMI...

Im either too loose or too tight:(
spoiltmom replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also have sleep apnea and I'm on a cpap at night with a full face mask. TMI but I threw up in my sleep Saturday night. I felt like I was draining. It ran all in my mask and down through my tubing. It was the protein shake I had drank 6 hours before:( -
Please don't wait till tomorrow night. If you want to try something I would put a rubber glove or better yet have someone else put the glove on and GENTLY help things along. I know this sounds gross but it will help. I would also use some type of water based lubricant. (This is only if the u-know-what is knocking at the exit door). Probably TMI but from my own experience it does work.

What to do for a sugar craving
Jim1967 replied to Deed2u's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My head hunger is pretty much gone since the band. I am still in awe about how little I care about food. I was a major ice cream addict before the band and that is the absolute worse because that crap just slides right on down band or no band. Ice cream was a huge concern for me when considering all options because 1. Gastric bypass you have to deal with dumping syndrome and ice cream is a killer. I was not ready to say goodbye to ice cream forever. 2. Band lets it slide on down.....ice cream still a killer...and I thought there was no way to win with this. I was wrong. My band has helped me immensely with head hunger to a point where it does not exist. Ice cream still happens on rare occasions and when it does it sugar free with exception to two weeks ago my Wife was in the mood for ice cream so we hit the local stand and I said "ya know what I deserve a treat". I had a regular vanilla frappe. Big, Big mistake. Hour later I was home and in the bathroom and had some stomach cramps. I guess my body is not used to it anymore. From here on out sugar free only when I am having a treat. I am also one of those ones who eat what they want. I've been down the road of deprivation and it just does not work for me...period. If I want pizza or ice cream I have it. Now its all about moderation and stopping the eating when I am satisfied. If you're really, really having the sugar craving try a teaspoon of Peanut Butter. At least that way you will also get some Protein while also getting in your sugar fix. This got me through that period of time when I did not have enough "restriction" and head hunger was still plaguing me. Remember it's all in moderation. Edit: Sorry for the TMI. I was just trying to point out how much the band has changed me. -
Ladies! Did your cycle change?
mandi827 replied to albertamom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This might be tmi ..I was sleeved 2/28 and my first period was light. I started 2nd yesterday and seemed fine until hour ago...soaked 3 pairs of pj 's with overnight pads. I have passed about 10 golf ball size clots ..it is awful...the bathroom seriously looked like a murder screen. No cramping..no chance of pregnancy....my only other thought is I had cyst on ovary and had follow Monday and now have 2 more. Two now have solid masses so seeing specialist Wed. I don't know if that has anything to do with it. My man is freaking out that I am losing too much blood lol..men!..any thoughts? -
Jackie, I was diagnosed with IBS-C in '01 when an episode of ischemic ulcerative colitis landed me in the hospital for 3 days well before being banded in '06. Thing is, I've dealt with this episodic disease/disorder as far back as being 17/18 yrs old and never knew what it was or had the mind to have it checked into. I just remember dealing with the pain, being curled up in a ball. It has just gotten more frequent as I've aged. I have colonoscopies every 3 yrs and then as needed such as during one of these extreme bouts. I had a couple polyps removed during the colonoscopy before last. Not to give TMI, but before being put on Miralax daily, I've gone as much as 24 days without a BM. My whole system was toxic. Now with these episodes, I'm in the bathroom all the time. Ok, that's over. Anyway, I'm going to try a new GI doctor. Hope you get answers with your CT. Not to be negative, but my brother lost about 6 inches of his intestine due to a ruptured diverticula. He did not have to have a colostomy but HAS to watch his diet, so it's serious stuff. Good luck, keep me posted on what you find out!

No i wish i had tmi lol i was very hydrated before surgery. I lost count on how many bags of fluids I've had. Also i never once filled up my catheter bag. So my bladder ultrasound said it was only 50% full so my body must be absorbing all this fluids. Sent from my DROID RAZR MAXX using RNYTalk

I fessed up to the NUT yesterday for my session. She said as long as it doesn't adversely effect you, such as are you getting all your liquids in? Does it set ok in your tummy? If so, a cup is just fine. For me, I am well over the 64 oz of liquids and have no acid reflux. I do take a chewable pepsid twice a day per my post op instructions. Another bonus is it helps me poop! I know TMI but it really does.

FEBRUARY SLEEVERS 2013....how you doing after you've been Sleeved
kkramer185 replied to DivaNurse's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have a question...ok, let me warn you...TMI!!!! For the past week my poop has been green. I do use iron, but I have been taking it for months. I read somewhere that if you don't eat enough this can happen. Anyone else have this? Also, I know it's not from veggies, I have added them, but I don't eat a lot and not every day yet -
What ya eating tonight?

Fabulous February Post-Op's
Cecilia replied to ArmyWife&Mom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
p.s. One last thing before I go to bed: Yes the cookies and coffee were bad, but I realize what did me in (and this may just be my version of dumping) was the 1/4 cup of salad I had. It tasted SOOOOO good! Fresh crisp lettuce! I could have eaten a plate full (good thing I didn't) but it pretty much passed through undigested, and from the looks of it, I didn't do a very good job chewing, either. TMI, I know... TMI! -
fiddleman it be the quite ones that stay in my butt crack lol tmi tmi. no one smells it. lol

Fabulous February Post-Op's
Cecilia replied to ArmyWife&Mom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Uuuuuhhhhnnnggg!!! I would congratulate you all on your amazing successes, except I'm too busy running to the bathroom every 10 minutes. WARNING: TMI & GROSS CONTENT FOLLOWS. PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK. Here's the story: I traveled to a nearby city to take a 4-day class. I'm staying with my brother and his wife. I'm off my daily routine. Skipping breakfast, packing my oatmeal but not making it, that sort of thing. At the conference they have coffee and cookies and rolls, so I nibble on a tiny piece of a roll while drinking coffee. Then sampling a little bit of a cookie. Eating whatever my SIL makes for dinner, then taking it the next day for lunch. Having no gastric distress, the second day I get bold. I get a whole cup of coffee and two cookies. A chocolate chip and a humongous shortbread cookie dipped in chocolate so greasy it would make pizza look low-fat. This was a huge mistake. Mind you--no dumping or vomiting has happened, so I think I'm safe so far. Only after dinner (spaghetti, fresh salad, greasy garlic bread -- I don't want to put my hosts out, so I eat what they're eating) I hear my stomach grumble, and the fun begins. My stools get looser and looser. I'm up all night running to the bathroom, and when I'm sleeping, I'm dreaming of my intestines (true!). This morning I actually saw a greasy oil slick in the toilet after evacuating what feels like the last little bit of what's left in me. Lesson learned. I can't just "wing it." I can't eat cookies. I can't tolerate greasy foods. And you know what? Other than the chocolate chip cookie (which was amazing) and the salad (I miss crispy vegetables!), nothing really was that good or so delicious that I'd be interested in eating it again. It really just wasn't worth it. -
OMG, TMI!!! Seriously, gassing gets better the later out you get. For me, I think gassing got better around month 5. However, I would never gas someone while talking to them. Oh the shame!!! Better to wait for a private moment so you don't have to have a black belt in the art of inconspicuous gassing. Lol.

I am officially sleeved! Arrived at hospital 8:30, but didn't get into OR until noon. Soooooo nauseous after recovery! Had to keep eyes closed and just moan, slurring when I tried to talk. Shoulders painful on deep breaths. But, after a few hours and a couple of good pees (sorry, TMI), i walked the hall for over 20 minutes! Slow to start drinking, but I'm catching up! No nausea there, whew! Feeling awake and so much better. I AM A SLEEVER!

I'm also 5 days out and I've felt mucus accumulating in my throat also. Tmi, but I've been spitting it out to get rid of it.

1 week Post Op!
ambersterling replied to donatelife36's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved this past Thursday, so today I am 4 days out. I am still having a lot of trouble swallowing. Feels like a golf ball every time. Also, they gave me a suppository in the hospital bc I was in SO much pain from gas. So now I have (sorry TMI) liquid diarrhea. Did any of you have any of these issues? I am worried about dehydration. I am on full liquids, so I'm trying to drink skim milk along with water and some zero calorie electrolyte drinks like Powerade Zero and Gatorade. Haven't attempted a protein shake yet. -
