I dont know how many other people do this but whenever I come home I change into sweatpants/pjs. I have not been able to wear jeans for more than a few hrs comfortably in a long time! Well, on monday, I was home cleaning the kitchen and looked down and noticed that I never took my jeans off after taking ym daughter to school! I was comfy and kept them on all day as like a trophy. Maybe tmi right now: to top it of I am on my period this week, so normally nothing fits! It just felt awesome!

I am 6 days out and I am Starving! These protein shakes and clear liquids are not keeping me full like they were last week. Anyway I have cured my cabin fever I went to Target on Saturday I walked around the store for 30 minutes I came home that night and let out this amazing burp! (I know TMI) It feel so good and my shoulder pain and chest pain was gone instantly. I thought that was it until I woke up Sunday morning and everything came back. That afternoon I went to Sam’s with my mom and sister because I thought if I did the same amount of walking I did Saturday I would have the same results. Too bad that didn’t happened. Yesterday my hunger kicked in. I was drinking protein shakes and broths to try to satisfied my hunger. It was helping at first but around 8pm the hunger came back. I had 2 popsicles while I was watching the St. Louis Blues and LA Kings hockey game last night. I had to stop watching it because I well yelling at the TV. I was yelling so much that I was afraid I was going to rip one of my incisions open! The Blues were playing terrible after the second period. But at least we are still in the playoffs! I think I found a new hobby. I went to Lowes last night and brought an Herb garden for $10. I can grow this indoors and all I have to do is place my garden on my window seal. So I guess I have to wait to see how I do. Other than that I am doing fine just hungry I am thinking about calling my surgeon office and ask them if I can eat something like pudding until I see him on Thursday. It does hurt to ask right? Thanks for reading.

TMI but can be very helpful so I want to share

Well I truely believe when you love someone and choose to marry them, these are some of the things one SHOULD DO. I am glad you have him. Not TMI really - it's great info for this forum. RNY, other surgeies, and just poor health in general, do a lot to the human body. When I was thin once, I was in a terrible accident and had many dilemmas when I got home that I've never talked about EVER - they were kept between my husband and I; so I admire you for talking about that here. But I can tell you that I'd do the same for him. -

Kivtuar replied to timetobefree's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Had a possibly TMI NSV yesterday.. I am basically blind without my glasses, I need things to be within 6 inches or so to see clearly so shaving my legs has been pretty hit or miss (mostly miss) for many years.. Yesterday I was able to bend over and actually see what I was doing I was pretty proud. Other NSVs From size 4x tshirt to L, size 28 pants to a tight 16/loose 18. It's pretty amazing... I stole my oldest daughter's shirt the other day.. (don't tell her -
O.K I think I'm so nervous that I am starting to substitute sex for food! I just attempted to molest my hubby again and this just started! I really don't think about food anymore just sex, sex, sex...it actually calms me down when I get antsy. Am I the only one who has experienced this?

Slimies. Foamies.
AmandaRaeLeo replied to AmandaRaeLeo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the brick. Right below the rib cage. I've had a flood of thick saliva accompanied by huge spit bubbles (tmi?) and then gagging/puking. I figured I was sliming but wanted to confirm that there was not yet another fun sleeve experience out there in addition to aforementioned experience! I too ate too fast. I learned my lesson for sure! -
happens to me when i eat too fast, which sadly has happened 3 times. you have a pressure in your chest - feels kinda like you ate a brick, and then you feel like you have to burp or something. you try to pull up a burp but instead, it's mucousy "slime." not pleasant, and the times it's happened to me, I've had to induce vomiting to ease pressure.. I dont have to use my finger (tmi, yall) just keep doing that "burp/suck" thing and it keeps coming out for up to an hour. NOT fun. you'd think I'd learn, but I have 6 kids and dinner time is crazy time around hereand i HATE hate hate hate eating slow. well maybe 3 hates for eating slow, and 4 for overeating.

I like the taste of this one a lot and also it's 30g of Protein and only 1 carb and 1 sugar. So I like everything about it andI'm sorry for the major tmi, but its causing diarrhea. A friend suggested maybe my body is just cleansing itself. Im not sure. I guess ill stick with it and see if it improves in a couple days or ill switch.

Same boat here. I did a saltwater gargle and TMI but so much icky stuff came out and I already feel better.

To all those May banders on the pre-op diet...Are you having trouble with constipation? I knew this would happen with so much protein and so little carbs/fiber. This is one of my biggest fears about getting banded. The other more invasive WLS I hear have the opposite problem. I've taken Miralax the last 3 days to no avail. Does anything work for you? Thanks!

Are you getting at least 64 oz of water? I ask because I was nauseated 24/7. I had a bad taste in my mouth which caused everything to taste nasty including water. My urine had a bad odor sorry If TMI). I called my surgeon's office, & I was told I was dehydrated.
-
I am totally amazed. Day 1 of preop was fantastic. I wasn't terribly hungry until supper and was able.to have two shakes. I didn't realize I'm allowed 4 a day. I've totally cut out my diet Dr pepper. This morning I had to check too and I lost 9 pounds!!! I know its water because I peed approximately 72 times yesterday (sorry for the tmi)...but who cares! I'm so excited to follow the plan now it doesn't matter. I also slept better than I have in months. I assume that's from refraining from all the caffeine in the evening. What an excellent start to an already exciting journey!!

Thank you everyone for your insightful compassionate words of wisdom and encouragement, <3. The majority of the trauma has happened since January, one thing right after another, without the opportunity to take a breath, gather my strength, or find hope. It has seriiously been some horrific devastation every few weeks, unceasing, since January. My gallbladder, 2 weeks later my father, a week later I left and my Mom had to sell, , few weeks later I deploy, 2 weeks later the IRS, now the scariness of what's happening here ... I don't want to be a victim, I want to rise to every challenge but ENOUGH WITH THE FU**!NG CHALLENGES ALREADY! enough, universe, enough. I'm starting to wonder, do any of us actually know how to lose weight? It doesn't seem reasonable that the only way I'm going to lose a significant amount of weight is by eating 600 calories a day, by starving myself basically. That makes me angry, I am angry! With every advance in science and all these damn doctors telling us what to do, nobody actually seems to have a clue as to how to lose weight that doesn't involve some gimmick. I want to know how many calories and activity per day a naturally skinny person does, a person who makes a point of exercising and eating healthfully but doesn't track either. Sorry, rant. I have weighed 125 before, I have memories of what I felt like at that weight and I liked it, I was at my most athletic, my fastest at that weight. Since surgery the lowest I got was 165 and I was very very strong from constantly exercising and strength training and I felt awesome. The floppy flesh and skin was awkward and solidified my decision to someday have plastics. My Mother and Grandmothers at this age were curvacious but not fat, judging from photos I would say that they were all somewhere in the low 130s, the g-mothers were shorter by a few inches, Mom taller by a half inch. The desire for carbs is overwhelming, I was doing so good yesterday, and then I was cramming plain tortilla chips (super salty) into my mouth like it would save the world. v.v Also (tmi alert) I realized that one of the justifications for reintroducing carbs was that staying extremely low carb results in ... painful attempts at BMs, resulting in overuse of MoM or other things. But I noticed that a cheap carb got things moving nicely ... so, now that I am back on high Protein low carb (attempting anyway), I have noticed it reverting, not fun ... In answer to someone who suggested I see a therapist, I would love to see a therapist but someone equipped to handle our issues, doesn't exist here. When it comes to weight the army is still very much into the blame game and not interested in exploring the reasons behind the results. So far today, 4 oz egg white/ham/cheese omelet, coffee w 1%, sf torani. lunch will be tuna if I can find it, dinner, a chicken breast if I'm lucky. snack, jerky.

I know this may be tmi but I was sleeved 1/23/13 I've lost 89 pounds but 2 days after I was sleeved my peroid started and I had my peroid all the way till april 12th that was the longest 3 1/2 months of my life. My ob said it was from my hormones and the weightloss. I was even on the depo shot to try and stop it. They finally did a d&c to make it stop. But from what I hear this is normal. That was the worst part of this whole adventure. But I don't regret it. Has anyone else had this problem?

I am scheduled for surgery this Tuesday the 30th can't wait, but I have a question for you ladies! Did any of you encounter any issues if your monthly friend was visiting when you had surgery? I'm nervous my monthly friend will show the day of my surgery :-/ sorry if tmi -
Yes my insurance is paying. I have high blood pressure and a TMI of 40.2. I lost about 45 lbs with the band but after five years have put 30 of it back on. I have had horrible reflux the last two years. I don't regret my band it just didn't work for me. My metabolism is in the tank so at this point my only option is RNY. Luckily I am covered and mayo clinic is doing my surgery.

I can't eat 98% of food. Like you said, 3 weeks ago some things were ok, now if I eat them they totally make me nauseaus or I don't like the taste. I have NO idea what's going on....pretty irritated. If I do find a food i like ok, within 90 minutes I'll have the runs (sorry-tmi) so I'm not sure how I'm supposed to maintain any semblance of nutrition

Help! Struggling to be ready for pre-op diet
LanaMae replied to mamamareli's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm now POPD4 and feeling fatigued, but overall pretty good. I've had no problems keeping protein shakes down 2 oz. at a time, but sipping on anything throughout the day is difficult. I just don't feel like putting anything in my mouth. I'm happy to say I finally had a BM last night and today (sorry if TMI, but I was worried about constipation with sore abdominal muscles!!!). Unlike others, it's actually helped me to look up recipes for the future. Doctor has me on water and shakes only for two weeks, but looking and planning on future "meals" is helping me through this phase. -

Thank you. I tried not to get into TMI but still be funny. -
Possible TMI alert!! I am on day 6 of my preop diet. It is both liquids and foods from the docs office. I have diareah on and off all week. Its horrible! Anyone else experience this? I am not too concerned about it, but its annoying when I have to make a mad dash to the bathroom!
