5 Weeks Out Today And Really Concerned :(

I am 39 days out. I am just coming off a 10 days stall where I gained 2 pounds. The most calories that I can take in is 750 but normally I sit around 600-700 calories. Make sure as others have posted that you are drinking your 64 ounces or more of water. I am vigilant to make sure I get this amount in daily or more. Your stall will break I really feel your pain. I also lost really quickly weeks two and three, 21 pounds, I will bet this is why I went into a stall too.
  2. I just broke a three week stall. I know it frustrating but everyone says it normal. I have lost 3 lbs in four days. I hope it continues for a while. I was sleeved on 9/18.. I lost 10 lbs before surgery and 23 lbs after. I started at 243. 210 this morning. I am still fighting fatigue.
  3. I had a three week stall that started at week 3.
  4. Start weight: 227 Weight today: 198, at last weigh in. What are you eating and how much: I eat most foods, I do not eat fruits yet. I still eat a lot of soft foods, my sleeve likes them better right now. I eat chicken, cheese, cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, eggs, a lot of Soups, Beans, and soft cooked veggies. I do not eat meat yet like steak, roast or pork. Daily workout: my husband and I walk in the evening, I get up in the morning and do some light exercise with resistance bands. I have not joined a gym. I prefer to exercise as home. I am going shopping this weekend for a workout DVD. How hungry are you: I would not say that I get truly hungry, I know when I need to eat (I try to focus on eating every 3 hours). I get head hunger when I see commercials but I know that I do not need that type of food now. How do you feel physically: I finally feel like I am back to normal, energy wise. I do not need to nap every day now. I can make it through a full day at work and feel good. I can walk farther than I could even two or three weeks ago. How are you emotionally: I had a sad week a couple of weeks ago but that has passed and most days I feel great. Some days things get on my nerves very quickly, not really sure why. Are you glad you chose the sleeve: YES....there have been tough days but I know that with my sleeve, I will lose weight, get off my medications, be healthier, and I will not be morbidly obese again. I will be able to enjoy life for the rest of my life. This surgery experience has been harder than I imagined. Not the actual surgery, but the days and weeks that followed. I still have hard days, when my sleeve does not like to have real food in it. I have never had nausea or vomiting but I do have issues some days with foods, I still prefer soft foods. The weight has not melted off, as I had hoped it would. It is slow and there are stalls, lots of them. I still struggle to get in all my Protein and Water. I am not sorry though, not at all. I know that my sleeve will eventually get me to my goal weight and I will use it to help me maintain that weight for the rest of my life.

    Oh Plz Tell Me.....

It's been three weeks since surgery and I was losing really good 15 lbs total and 5 lbs before I go under the 200 lb mark. I thought for sure this was going to be the week to get there. As of today, I have walked 28 miles and didn't lose even 1 lb and to be honest, that's always been the case with me. I use to walk 36 miles a week and never lost a single pound nor got under 180. I still have a hard time getting 800 calories in, but I'm getting about 70 grams of Protein in and around 50 or so in carbs which is what they told me to do. Maybe the carbs are killing me. I just want this band to work and so far it's been great. I eat almost three cups of food a day and feel very satisfied, so why is the weight stalling so soon after surgery?
  6. I was sleeved on Sept 18 and have lost 20 lbs since. Two week ago I stopped losing weight. I have read many post saying this is normal. My question is?? How long so they usually last. I'm ready to see that scale move????????

    3 Weeks Out

My day consists of One slice of boars head deli chicken with a slice of baby swiss cheese rolled in the middle. I nuke it in the microwave for 20 seconds.. That's Breakfast.. Between Breakfast and lunch I have a Protein powder shake mixed with 1 percent milk. Lunch time I have a small strawberry wild shake with added whey powder from Jamba juice... For dinner I have chicken or beef broth. -------- Today I ventures away from my broth dinner and tried three bites of grilled chicken with goat cheese.. PAINFUL felt like contractions in a snake like moveme. what's everyone else eating? I take a protonix and gummy Vitamins every morning. My Water intake is kinda low. I try and try but It almost hurts.... or maybe it's me self sabatoging. I have always had a low water intake. I think I am a bit twisted and like feeling dehydrated. I have hit the three week stall no weight loss. please let me know what you guys are eating so I can have more ideas

I'm going on to a three week stall. This is no fun. I realized that as soon as I got my period is when I stopped going down. I've been walking for 30-45 mins a day. Getting in for the past three days over 60 grams of protein and about 64 oz of water. I only eat chicken beef or egg. I follow everything my Dr said. Do you think the scale will start moving soon?

    My Stats At 5 Weeks!

Sleeved 9/13 down 17 pounds start weight 197. Pushing through the three week stall. Finally dropped another pound. Jogging a mile on the treadmill everyday. Work hard on getting protein and water. Sometimes it's harder than others . I am eating some of my protien now. I get full fast though. Going to a nut group class tonight at Forest park medical . Hoping for some good info to help me on this journey.
  11. You and I was sleeved the same day & I am down 45 lbs. I also stalled for three weeks. I am a slow loser maybe if I would stay away from soft foods. My bday is next Thursday and I would love to be at 200. I was 205 last week and today I went up 2 lbs. So disappointed.
  12. Don't panic. I"m not.. I was sleeved Sep 18th. Lost 10 pounds on pre liquid then 10 the first week then 5-7 and now nothing for a week!!!! Yes, plenty of threads on here about the stalls. I researched from medical sites and the deal is that your body losing glycogen quickly, just like it did on low carb diet days.. THat as a large ratio of water to glycogen, so we lose the water weight quickly and also fat.. Pants also fit better, etc and we feel great.. once glycogen is gone, even if you were losing fat, your pants would still fit better, but the weight would be like 1/4 of the decrease as before because it's only fat and no water. Make sense? THEN, the stalls are required for your body and is very cool how it works (although I do hate mine lol), because it has to restore glycogen and it , in essence, shifts around the fat from your cells and converts it to glycogen. As someone puts it, so your body can react to running in the old days, from say, a sabertooth tiger.. So, even though you won't lose weight, as the body changes it's "insides" to glycogen, you will be way more fit and trim, just not less weight. Then it repeats.. The less dramatic the weight loss, the less this is noticeable, etc. But it's also why many people go through several stalls. I hope to be one to tell you that I got out of mine soon. I used to eat 3500 cal a day and now 1200 on a bad day. So s/b losing two or three lbs a week, but nada for like 9 days. Again, I am certain it's normal and it always used to happen to me on my diet days. hope that helps
  13. I'm still pre-op so have no first hand knowledge, but I have read tons of posts from sleevers who talk about a week three stall. The advice I keep seeing is stick to your plan. Sounds solid to me. Good luck!

Does Anyone Else Eat As Much As Me?

Because I have been tolerating food so well (I'm starting week 4 post op today), my NUT, last week, put me on a 1000-1200 diet. She warned me not to compare to others and that I will now start losing much slower and also most get stalls.. She said in the long run, it's better for my skin and gall bladder if the rate slows down, but to make sure I can handle that emotionally.. I get in 1000 min a day and up to 1200 and believe me, i COULD eat a lot more! I eat too fast (because I can, but wish I sort of had issues lol)... I also am never full when I am done, but stop and then feel quite full 30 min later and can last easily until next meal. I still feel like i am dieting, although it's easier than it's ever been thanks ot the sleeve... So, with 1200 being my number and three times at least was the number I ate before, I am confident/hopeful that it will work for me. .Too soon to tell, hence why I am reading this thread lol

    Reflux?

I have had reflux for years. Took Nexium I had a upper GI and was diagnosed with Barrett's Esaphogus I am in early stage no dysplasia. First thing he told me was to lose weight. Not easy cause I'm also a diabetic high cholesterol sleep apnea and high blood pressure. Lots of meds made me tired. He told me I needed to lose 70 pounds. I went to see a doctor about gastric surgery. He and my gastro doc talk and decided the sleeve would work for me. I had surgery the 13 of sept and have lost 15 pounds. I'm off all of my meds. Oh BTW they found a hiatal hernia whie in there. What a difference that made getting that puppy fixed. I do get Gas. Not the same as reflux I use gas x strips. No reflux. Mainly I'm sure is because my diet has changed so much. Both doctors told me my acid levels would drop. Not all doctors would agree the sleeve is good when you have Barrett's but both my doctors felt it was a good choice for me. Wishing you luck!! I'm down to 183. Enduring what everyone refers to as the three week stall. I'm gonna up my walking tomorrow and switch up some of the liquids soups proteins ect.. To get my metabolism moving again. Take care!!

    Nsv/stalling

I love how simple things are such great accomplishments! Congrats on your towel covering up all of you! That's awesome. I'm waiting to see if I will have a three week stall (I'm at 2 weeks tomorrow post op). If there is a stall, your post has relieved me. Thank you!
  17. Yes, Yes . . we are all very different in the way we lose weight. However with out sorting through every post ever made on VST I was wondering what are the most common times to stall through out the first year and do they last for different amounts of time. Example, if three weeks and 5 months are common stall points , does the three week stall only last one week where the 5 month stall last a month ? Stalls seem to get everyone in such a feisty mood I thought if i just prepared for one in my head I could psych it out

    Before And After

Stalls normally happen around the time of my period... (I also was able to and wanted to eat some more around that time) Also... I got the infamous three week stall. As far as overcoming the stall.. I really didn't do anything. I just continued doing what I was doing. I was doing pretty well with exercise for a whole but have been slacking recently. As far as foods that disagree with me... Let me just say that I have never thrown up... But it gives me diarrhea I don't do well with any kind of egg (fried or omlete). Anything too high in sugar. Anything too high in fat. At the beginning anything acidic or with garlic powder upset my stomach.
  19. It's so encouraging to read these posts. Everyone is doing well! I am exactly 8 months out today and am down 108 (31 of that was pre-op). Feel great and life is good! Losing has slowed waaaaay down - I'm lucky to lose 8 pounds in a month. And it's not steady; I'll stall for two or three weeks, then lose 3+ pounds in one week. Keep up the good work, everyone!!

    Is Something Wrong.

Sorry lets try that again. Doc says all ok nothing to worry about buy hubby and I are concerned. I was sleeved 3/22 this year and are still losing 1 - 1.5 kilo a week. Total of 55 kilo so far. I have hit my goal and passed it already. I have only had 1 stall at three weeks post op for two weeks. The rate I'm going there gonna be nothing of me. Has anyone else had similar problem and did it slow. Don't get me wrong. Happy about loss and feel great. Still not sleeping overly well but all bloods doc did are normal. Just wondering if it normal six months out to still be losing big numbers. Thanx.
  21. I can't believe it's been 6 months! I took my 6 month pics yesterday the 28th. My weight loss has been "stalled" for the past two months. I lost 3 lbs last month and maybe 1 this month. So I think my honeymoon phase was 4 months. I posted 13 week pics and they don't look that much different than these. I can tell I'm shrinking though. And I've still been working out and started doing TapOut XTreme workouts along with my Elliptical. Here's a summary of my stats and goals: Height: 5'11" still an amazon Weight: 288 to 231.4 lbs Size: tight 20W to 18 regular (16 in dresses) Tops: size XL to L Goal: 190 size 14 (in pants and dresses) not sure what weight that requires, I don't remember ever being under 200 lbs. I don't really follow a "diet" but I do drink a shake every morning. Either a scoop of Muscle Milk in skim milk or a RTD Muscle Milk Light. I only eat three times a day. I eat whatever for lunch and dinner just small portions. I still have a major sweet tooth so battling that is very hard. I'm going on vacation next week and plan on getting back to basics when I get back, eating only fish, chicken, fruits, and veggies (no sweets!). I can't say I will follow a diet because I have made this a lifestyle. This surgery has been wonderful for me. The best decision I have ever made for myself. I am in love with shopping again. I bought bags of clothes last weekend and it felt great to just be able to pull something off the rack without worrying if it will fit or not. I bought a goal dress size 14. It's skin tight right now, but the fact that I could pull it down over these hips felt great.

    Stalls.... Hate Them!

I have been floating within a 2lb range after losing 32lbs these three weeks.....I don't like the "stall," but then again, I did lost 32lbs. I think my body is holding onto the fluid for pms reasons...that's what it did other times when I was trying to lose weight...for about a week every month, I'd lose nothing....but I'd much rather lose weight every day, like earlier.
  23. Sounds like your metabolism needs a jumpstart! I'm 15 weeks and i've been through two stalls. I had read somewhere, that taking in too few calories could hinder weight loss..I tried adding adding calories and fat to my diet, and lost three pounds..Same thing after the second stall. I'm not saying it will work for you, but it's worked for me. Good luck!
  24. Hey everyone! The question is in the subject... How many calories are/were you eating 4 months pos opp. im doing about 400-600 a day. too much or too little?? And I am at an awful stall right now..... about 5 punds lost in three weeks...... YUCK!! Thanks!!
  25. Stalls r so normal. I am three months post op and i have stalls at least once a month. I just dont get on the scale as much anymore. I went to dr last week and was at the same weight for almost two weeks went yesterday and was down 7 lbs. Sent from my DROID RAZR using RNYTalk
