Reading all of you NSV has really got me teary eyed! I can't wait to be where you guys are. I am 6 days post op and have lost a total of 30 lbs from approval to post op. I have gotten compliments but I don't physically feel different yet but am confident I will be posting on this thread soon.

I am 2 weeks post op today and went to put on my belt this morning only to find out that it doesn't fit at all. I have lost 34lbs since my preop diet!

Thinking of doing new things with pics
Justoperated posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Dunno if this counts as NSV, but these days I have been thinking of waxing my chest, stomach and back. Wonder if this will make saggy skin more prominent or show some more muscle -
That's a great NSV! I can especially related as I can wear pantyhose now and my thighs no longer rub together. I hated the rash I would get at the end of the day or evening from the friction...and let's not forget the sweating getting in and out of the pantyhose as well. These days it's no big deal anymore and going to the ladies room is just a quick pull them down and pull them back up. The little things are so so so important.

Great NSV...definitely worth celebrating!!!

Congratulations! What a great NSV!! I just finished Week 7 Day 3 of the C25K program, only 2 weeks left till I'm supposed to run 30 minutes. I'll be catching up with you soon. :-)

I'm newly sleeved as of 4/29 and my first NSV was seeing my friends for the first time prior to my liquid diet. I wore a hoodie because that's how I normally cover myself up and they were all interested in how much weight I've lost and how in up and walking 5 days post-op. One of my wife's friends actually said she was proud of me for taking this big step and not complaining about it once.

How about some NSVs!?!?

My first NSV....putting on a size smaller jean today! I forgot what it was like to feel so good in a pair of jeans. -
First CONGRATS on your NSV and that outfit does look great on you!!!! I only found out about that collection last week while watching a youtube video of someone I subscribe to and she had a few pieces from that collection in it. I fell in love with a tank top and when I went online to ebay to see if they had it I was shocked at how much they were asking for the top. If I knew it would fit the way I like it I would have purchased one, but not knowing how it would fit, there was no way I was spending that kind of money on one top.

Congrats! I just went to a seamstress to get fitted for my Mother of the groom dress, and thought ahead to bring in 5 pairs of great jeans/ pants. She was reasonable and without shopping, I have "new" pants in a smaller size. Happy.. That is a NSV ... And I adored the MOG dress I ordered 6 months ago... thank goodness.

It's a beautiful Spring day! NSV - my husband has been taking time to do family walks every night -- in addition to his psychotic running schedule.

Remember the scale is not the only sign of your body changing! Measure yourself: neck, bust, hips, waist, thighs, and arms (at the bicep and forearm). See how much looser your clothes are fitting... there are a lot of NSVs out there if you look for them even if your are in a stall! The other posters are right this is more mental than physical, stay positive about the path you are on and axe the habits that got you to your old ways. We all fall off the wagon every once in a while but just get back on and keep with the program. 6 weeks is normally the sweet spot where the weight will start just melting away! Keep up the hard work, you can do it, you are stronger than you think!

It's Friday!!! WhoooHOO!! I think we should all take a minute and post something that we are grateful for - an NSV - a happy moment - something that made you feel 10 feet tall and bullet proof - (not tequila ) - maybe someone said or did something nice for you this week that made you feel special .......and....go! my husband has been really sweet this week and he picked roses for me and made me a small bouquet and put them in a little mason jar and brought them to me at work and they are on my desk - which was really nice because he really doesn't do stuff like that - so it was 100 times more special to me that he thought of me when i really needed a pick me up this week.

I know the common advice they give you is to wait until after you bottomed out before buying clothes. But that is not always true. As I was losing weight, I would buy something that was so tight that if I took a deep breath, it would break apart at the seams. But a week later, it would fit like a glove. It was a great motivator. Ahhhhhh, what do they call it? NSV (non scale victory).

It looks perfect on you! What a very happy NSV, great work!

I swore off shopping during my pre-op. I was losing weight pretty quickly (down almost 50 lbs in 3 months) and knew it would just be a waste of money to buy any new clothes. So when the Lilly Pulitzer for Target collection launched, I didn't even wanna look at it because I knew I would shop. Well...that turned out not to even be an issue because before I even woke up that morning, the Target website had crashed and most stores looked like a tornado had come through and picked up all of the Lilly items. So I moved on with my life LOL I went to Target today for cleaning supplies, face wash, and a trash can. That was all. Of course, I had a Cartwheel for 15% off one of their brands of women's apparel, so I thought whats the harm in taking a look? Maybe I'll find a nice maxi dress to transition around in. I walk by the women's section and see a very familiar print of white and green. Could it be? No...there's no way...is that...that's a piece of Lilly Pulitzer for Target. I'd recognize that cheery print anywhere. It's a jumpsuit I had coveted when sneak peeks of the line started showing up online. I picked it up and found no flaws or marks or tears in it...how could this possibly be here?! I check the tag and it's a standard XL. Well, I usually need an XXL at Target, and that's not always a good fit. I usually have to go to their plus section and I almost never find anything. This item is not stretchy. And it has a zipper. At this moment, I am terrified. Me and zippers don't have a pleasant history. I take it to the fitting room, hang it up and examine it again. If it doesn't fit AND has a tear, then i'll feel better because I don't want a torn item anyway. There's not a single mark or tear. Suck it up Ashlee. Try it on. I put one leg in...I put the other leg in...I pull it up and it actually passes my hips. I take a deep breath (actually I sucked it in is what I did LOL) and pull it up the rest of the way. So far so good. But does it zip?? I reach behind me the best I can and pull up that tiny white zipper. And it stops. OMG. I KNEW IT. IT DOESN'T FIT. I turn around to see where i've stopped and lo and behold...i've zipped it all the way up. This thing fits. And not only does it fit, it fits damn good! It's a wee bit snug at my chest, which tells me I've got a little room to make so I can wear this thing out properly. Even though I've sworn off shopping, I absolutely cannot walk away without this item. According to the girl working the fitting room, a woman had returned the item last night and since they no longer have any of the collection in stock, there's no where to properly hang it. So it was mixed in with "similar" colored items. I wasn't even gonna go to this particular Target today, but I didn't feel like going to my usual Target closer to home. So if I had to analyze it, I'd say that the good lord above compelled that woman to return that jumpsuit and then led me to that store on purpose so that I could find it and realize that I have shrunk my way down to standard sizes! In the words of Ice Cube...today was a good day. PS if you read that whole story, you're my hero. Sometimes I feel like storytelling.

My newest NSV, I am wearing a dress and wedges to work/school today, and I am not wearing spanx under to prevent chub rub! So that right there is a twofer! I'm IN A DRESSSSSS (I haven't worn a dress casually in about 6 years)!!! AND NOT WEARING SPANX!!!! I'm so happy I might burst, guys. -
I think jeans are one of the best NSV's. A great fitting pair look and feel great... Well done...

I was wearing size 18 women's jeans before surgery. I easily wore size 14 jeans today!! I decided to try them on cause my others were getting too loose to wear, fully expecting them not to button. Excited!! Haven't been able to wear them in several years.
