Any other July 1st sleevers home?
kjordan83 replied to Bredred's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey y'all! Today I am finally able to take a more normal sip!! It's not a full gulp, yet, but definitely can get more down! Whew! TMI: I've also started having severe diarrhea today... anything to worry about? Also, my incisions have always been sore, but today the one on the right side of my stomach (not the large one where they pulled the excess out) is UNBELIEVABLY painful. Any movements I make almost make me cry. It's not just the incision site... It's also whatever is behind it that is incredibly sensitive to movement. Any ideas? -
5 days post op - heart palpitations & weakness
Camella posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 5 days post op and I'm a little distressed as I am having heart palpitations (all the time) and I've been feeling really weak. My doc still has me on just flat 7-up, tea & water (no protein). And now for TMI... I have had heavy menstruation the last three days and really bad diarrhea. I can't get hold of my Doc and I'm a little concerned. Any advice? -
Fabulous February Post-Op's
babs963 replied to ArmyWife&Mom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well despite being very nice to my scale and walking 15 miles in the past 3 days, my lovely scale showed a .3 lb gain even though I took a nice poop before hand!!! ( sorry tmi). Off to befriend Mr. Tape measure. -
I'm back! Happy July 4th!!! Hope you are all having a great Independence Day! Sorry I haven't updated whilst I was away - wifi was cr*p at the hotel! I've had a great time in Spain - 5 adults and 44 teenagers on a school trip is defo an experience! We spent 26 hours on the bus there and back and a whole lot more travelling around different locations! I can't believe how much time I have spent on that bloody thing! I didn't manage, as predicted, to do any fast days... and I am pretty sure by the bloated feeling I have that I have gained. I will weigh in the morning. I am prepared to see a higher number! I did manage to keep an 'ok' tab on my food choices, but I have to say that there were treats (the kids were loaded with jelly sweeties and it would be rude to say no!) - also some lunch times bread stuff was the only choice, so I ate it! However, when I did have the choice I stuck to Protein first, some veg and salad too. I would prob say the food I ate was 50% good and 50% not so good! I also had a few glasses of wine each evening - not too many - but more than normal ... as you all know, I don't drink in the house or on a regular basis... I do go out with the girls for a few cheeky ciders and that is once in a while. I did however, throughout the day, drink a lot of Water. I am also severally constipated - if I have no movement by tomorrow evening I will take some laxatives as a last measure... I hate it when I get like this! Sorry for TMI! We also did a lot of walking around - and I have to say that 3 years ago I would of been a bag of sweat - this time, no sweating! That is an awesome NSV, especially in the heat of Barcelona! I am not messing around here - damage limitation is in order so I am back to my fast day tomo even though it is Friday! I might even do Sunday this week too... I'll see how I feel. That is the beauty of this diet plan - I get to chose when I fast. I've got a big few weeks coming up - we have the school prom on Thurs - I won't drink cos I always drive but I know there will be an abundance of rubbish food on offer, so I will have to be super vigilant! I also have a works night out on the next day, that will be a big drinking session with plenty of dancing and giggling! The the following week I have another works night out which will also involve a lot of booze! I am gonna have to be ultra organised because I don't want to gain... but I do want a life! I think I will have to be happy with striking a medium over the next few weeks. Then I will have to be really focused as we go on a family holiday around the 9th August and I don't want to go away with extra weight on me. This time though, I might be able to squeeze in a fast day - or an attempt at fasting; perhaps missing a meal? Oh and as a foot note, it is my third year surg-aversary! How quickly has that gone? I need to find some time to post a little thread to recall my experience to date! Hope all of you are ok... great to see things are going well for you all ...

I'm sorry, but I just need to vent. My husband has been really supportive the last few months through the whole process and I am so grateful for that. I had my surgery on 6/26 and it has been a week and he has been very helpful up until this point. But now he has been asking me when we can have sex. I didn't have the greatest sex drive before surgery, but I really don't feel like I am ready yet and I'm really not in the mood at all. Now he's complaining about me being grouchy, which pretty much I am because of him! He just doesn't get it. Today he told me that I should stop with the whining that my surgery was a week ago and apparently I should be completely recovered by now. He also pretty much told me that this was an elective procedure and I did this to myself. I am just so annoyed right now! Sorry for all the TMI.

I am a week and a day post op! I was really hoping to be up and at em by now, but I still have such pain in the main surgery area that I still can't even wipe myself(sorry TMI) if I get up and move around it does ease up and I think I'm on the mend, but it never seems to get any better! I'm supposed to go back to work on Friday(my choice, I am a nail tech) but I don't think I'm going to be able to do it! Did anyone else have this searing pain and any tips in how to get rid if it? Thanks so much!

Any other July 1st sleevers home?
jaycobsmom replied to Bredred's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also had my surgery on july 1st with Dr.Bina in Houston. I came home yesterday around noon. Sipping and walking. I have to admit my body is “waking up" from the anesthesia and if you think its air your trying to let out think again ...RUN to the restroom .. there is no warning .. sorry if Its Tmi but it just happened to me. Time for a shower .. but listen to your body -
I should have a bachelors and masters degree in worrying! So I can relate to your angst. Yes, you can have complications BUT weight issues can cause lots of health complications as you know. In the world and on this site you'll hear the band loved and hated. If you follow ALL your doctors directions you not only will have weight loss success, you will minimize the chance of a complication early on or later. Day of surgery for me,only slightly achy thanks to pain meds. Some gas pains in my shoulders, but walking and moving(especially my arms) got rid of it fairly quickly. Incisions tender for a week. In a month I could exercise. My only complication, 9 days post op I had severe cramps from constipation. My fault, didn't drink enough water. Went to er, (tmi tmi tmi) and was fine within a couple hours. Good luck to you.

I wake up at 7 am and go to bed at 10pm so I do about 4oz of water every hour....I know its TMI but my Doc told me to get my urine as pale as possible thats sign of good hydration. :-) so far mine is almost transparent -
I've been taking Gabapentin for 12 yrs. Its also used for nerve pain. I take 1200mg 3x a day. When I first. Started taking it it made me feel like I was living in a dream. Not anymore. My dr told me to continue everytning but birth control pills. They increase my chance of blood clots. Btw (probly tmi): condoms suck!!!

June 25th Sleevers? I need a buddy...
2notbwinded replied to pinkeeez83's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't have the same full feeling like pre op anymore (kinda miss it, messed up huh?). Anyway, I did serve myself an extra ounce of cottage cheese. Thinking that its simply ridiculous that I can't get this protein in. Well, I ate maybe .5 ounce before the not-so-full feeling turned to just nausea.... Ugh. Never again, you'd think right? Nope, I accidentally did it this morning. I chose not to measure and just eat till I felt full, but since I didn't know when to stop I went straight to nauseous again. It seems I learn like Homer Simpson! Edit: I should add that the other day I went to a restaurant with the family & since I couldn't order anything else I had the wonton soup without the wontons. Gave away 2 small servings (my kids) and proceeded to sip the entire meal. I didn't want to have nothing to do so I kept sipping. When it was time to go I stood up and I could feel all that liquid sloshing inside or something. It was the first uncomfortably full feeling I've had. About 30 minutes of waking later I felt better. Full relief came after a bathroom break (TMI sorry). -
TMI alert! Not to scare you but my experience with post-sleeve constipation led to rectal surgery. I should add that I'd had intermittent problems with constipation prior to the sleeve. By four months post sleeve I had developed an anal fissure that would not heal and having any form of bowel movement was like pooping shards of glass. I ended up having a fissurectomy at seven months out and the recovery was nearly unbearable. Everything is fine now because I take sugar free Konsyl fiber, one dose in the morning. I take it religiously because I never ever want to have that pain ever again. Also, getting in your Water will help. Taking fiber requires a lot of water. Best of luck to you!

Haha nothing is tmi on this site I think. That's really interesting. I'm not sure why that would be the case...are you aroused with all this wetness or is just kinda your baseline? And is it all the time? The reason I ask is bc when ovulating its normal for your vagina to produce more lubricant...and if you have lost a lot of weight your body (like mine) may be responding by jumping back into ovulating cycles. When we are overweight many become anovulatory so it may be your body kicking back into fertile mode. This is purely my guess...

my period is 2 weeks late
******** replied to huligoo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think u just have to be careful. A lot of people hes seen were infertile because of their weight so figured they didn't need to take any precautions. I am only 23 so I havent actually tried. Not saying 23 or younger you can't have kids I'm just not at that pt yet. I'm not making my fiance where a condom but he is having fun finishing on other parts of my body haha tmi -
This gas has really been kicking my behind! I mean its the worst feeling ever but as I sat in this uncomfortable chair I noticed I couldn't stop rubbing my tummy. As I rubbed, I kept belching & farting (tmi but they don't stink lol) There's a huge sigh of relief so I would suggest everyone with gas problems to try relaxing in a recliner chair & just rub your belly with light pressure. If anyone else has any other remedies other than walking that have worked for you, please share

I have really bad diarrhea :-( I tried calling my NUT, just waiting for a call back. Is anyone else experiencing this? I do NOT want to take the milk of magnesia since waste is still coming out, but I take a multivitamin with fiber in it. Can I add some to a protein shake?

AmyInOrlando replied to Greeky83's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm sure I'll be one of those obsessive weighers.... naked, as soon as I wake up, before I pee, after I pee... definitely after a Poop. TMI, I know.... but it's the truth. -

Okay, so as I gained weight my vaj-jay gained too! Especially right above, in my pubic hair region...it's a big ol' fat pooch! So freaking disgusting and it has ,ajar impact on sex life. Now that I have a surgery date I am starting to wonder how my poor little va-jay-jay will look afterwards! I mean she wants to be pretty too! Did anyone else have this horrible pooch? What difference did you see in your girlie parts?? Is there such thing as vag tuck?? lol... I don't want her to be droopy or saggy!! Lol...sorry, but this is really a serious concern! 5'2" 264 lbs -

This is a TMI wait until you get to the constipation. I didn't get regular without fiber or milaax until month 5. It does get better though. -

Happened on Day 6 for me...and it was painful! Once I got that out, though, I was in the "bowels are more loose now" mode...lol! Talk about TMI! -
So I've been meaning to ask this question, yet every time I go to my surgeon's office I forget! My Soup dilemma. I love chunky meaty Soups. I'm ok without the carby starchy veggies, but can we eat the meats and broth if we can't drink and eat? Also, right now I'm still on puree stage. Could I puree both liquid and meat? I'm guessing I can so my question I guess is more geared for when I'm further out. To elaborate, and maybe TMI, I'm hispanic and I  LOVE mondongo (beef tripe soup) .<--- No Judging! It's high in Protein, not fattening (w/careful preparation) and can be made without starches without sacrificing much taste. If anyone else has had experience with this food post op please share.... I will, of course, experiment. Still, I'd rather save myself the trouble of having a bad episode, if that's the case. Please share experiences with other soups as well, as I can't imagine them being much different.
