Tmi alert! Vag fat and peeing!
Mrs.FullerRN posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Two questions for those who have lost a significant amount of weight! 1. Do your lady parts shrink? Like the lips and mons pubis? Or do they stay fat? 2.after 3 babies, my bladder leaks a little throughout the day, requiring a panty liner. Will this get better when I no longer weigh 275 lbs? -
Attention February 2013 Sleeve Buddies!
KristiP replied to LizTex2587's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
This is kind of a TMI one, but hey, I'm sure we're all in the same boat to some extent! Just wanted to ask - has anyone been experiencing aversions to foods/types of foods you were formally addicted to (for me it was sweets, especially chocolate or ice cream)? I am now constantly jonesing for salty stuff, and things that are crunchy - crispy crunchy not wet crunchy like a carrot! hahaha I can't get enough salt - to the point that I have been so desperate at times that I have shaken a few small chunks of sea salt out of the grinder and sucked on them one at a time. Love the parmesan cheese chips you can make, because they totally satisfy both the salty and crunchy craving, and it only takes 2 or 3 then I've had enough. I'm still experiencing dumping, but not as intensely or as quickly as I had been in the first few months. The first 6 weeks or so, if I had anything too sugary or fatty, it would either send me into an immediate hot flush with extremely smelly and explosive diarhea and I'd be on the toilet for ages, or it would send me into an immediate dead-cold sweat with lightheaded dizziness and I'd have to go lie down (absolutely had to be horizontal) for at least 20 minutes in pitch black (or something over my head to make it so) before I could recover and then I'd have to hit the toilet for a loooooong time. Now, I don't have those episodes so much, but I will feel very yuck, just very very unwell, semi-nauseous, and needing the toilet quite badly. I actually don't mind the dumping because in some ways it's very handy - makes me stop and think before I eat something, consider what the reaction might be and when........because I don't want to be without access to a loo if it's #2, and I don't want to use someones and then stink it all out! Nothing more embarassing than everyone knowing you were the one that made that oh-so-important room repulsive to use. hahaha Also, my hair.....or my lack of hair. Good Lord it started falling out about 3 months ago and it hasn't let up since. At times it seems like the fall out has slowed down, but then I will take a shower or brush my hair and look at that...another toupe in the drain or a tumbleweed in the brush. My ponytail is so thing now that I use toddler size ponytail holders and my fringe is so thin it constantly looks greasy no matter how clean it is. I get plenty of protein and I take my vitamins and supps religiously........I'm thinking it might be the Metformin I still take. It can have hair loss as a side effect. I'm going to see my doc about cutting the dose in half now. Aside from the hair loss I have no complaints, and I don't regret my decision to sleeve for a second, even when I'm pulling a huge glob of hair out of the drain! I figure it will grow back eventually, and if it doesn't, oh well. It's not the end of the world. Makes wearing a wig easier....not as much hair to put under the cap. hahaha -
I am on day 6 of pre-op diet......It is a lot harder than I thought it was going to be...I was miserable the first few days....I am allowed 3 carnation instant with simply smart milk, 1 small serving of fruit a day, 1 yogurt or ff ss pudding, Popsicles, and jello...bought the variety pack of shakes but I only like the chocolate...to top it all off..it is that time of the month and I am backed up (tmi sorry)....anyone else having issues?

Hi all I am new here!! I had revision surgery from lapband to rny on July 26th!! I think I'm doing ok a little sore and the gas was terrible. I have been walking as much as possible and some of the gas has expelled but when I burp it hurts so bad in my left collarbone area...I am trying so hard to sip sip sip all day but I'm at the point now where I think I want to eat I'm over water and crystal light and these protein drinks are blahhh. I also take antidepressant Paxil I have been on for many years I am feeling a little bit of withdrawal from it and its scaring me....could it just be all I have gone through, the fact that I also got my period?? Sorry tmi lol idk I'm praying that I am not having a malabsorption issue with my pills ???? -
I just tried a quest protein bar. They are so sweet! Sugar is low so weird. I got diarrhea (tmi) 30 minutes later. I never liked candy bars so it makes sense these were too sweet for me. Too bad cuz I was hoping to have found an alternative to protein shakes

I have been on a liquid diet for ten days now.where are the solids in my stool coming from? There isn't a lot, but it does happen...

Boost or High Protein Ensure
Pastor Paula Jackson posted a topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Can we drink Boost or Ensure? I know they are full of Vitamins and Protein. I like the taste and I probably can get a prescription for it. I had one before when I was sick and had IBS.. I know TMI. But I need to save every dime I can. -
Ok folks... TMI time... Had my first hard lesson today. I graduated to softs today and it was so great! After 3 weeks of liquid I was in heaven tasting and chewing savory food, and a teeny amount was so satisfying! So after dinner, everyone in my family got milkshakes. So after many weeks of no sweets, I looked at everyone enjoying their shakes and thought, "hey, its soft." So I ate about 2 oz. Let me tell you all... DON'T try this! You will pay dearly! Won't go into details, but let me just say I'm so glad I was at home and close to a bathroom for the rest of the evening! This memory will definitely keep me away from sweets!

July 2013 - Post Op Thread
sunshinetari replied to PittGuy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Everyone. I am new here. I had my RNY (revised from lap band) on the 22nd. I have lost 6lbs this week and a total of 21 from my pre-op diet. So far I feel like im healing ok. No major pain, no major nausea or issues, however I am not able to get in my liquids and protein. I bought powder and a few pre-made drinks and the sweet taste kills me. I refuse to drink it and water has been hard. yesterday finally I had peppermint tea and I was able to drink that fine and skim milk. Today I experimented and liquified some canned tuna with chicken broth just to get protein and it was just fine. no issues. so thought I am only able to have an oz or 2 at a time, I am working with that and the milk and the tea. Im have weird gas and need to have a BM (sorry tmi) but no luck yet. Im glad I found this page! Everyone seems to be doing fantastic! -

Hi this may be tmi, so let me apologize now but this is the ladies room right? My surgery was 6/26/13 and it triggered my period no biggie I was too loaded on anesthesia effects to notice any change....fast forward to a month later and my first "real" post op period and I'm noticing I'm much much more exhausted from it then any period I can recall preop...I've mostly stayed in bed all weekend (which is unusual for me) Do you ladies have any good food suggestions that I could incorporate in the future in the week leading up to and the week of to help increase my energy levels during my time of the month? Vitamin suggestions? What works for you? -

Looking for some advice, stories, or just someone to tell me that I'm normal. So, I'm 5 days post-op and having diarhhea. Three to 4 times a day. I know I'm not really eating much, just started pureed but I'm getting a little concerned that if it doesn't stop or cut back that I may end up dehydrated. I try the 30-30-30 rule, eat slow, and so on. I feel like no matter what I do my stomach is constantly grumbling. I don't have trouble getting fluids, food, or protein in, just worried about it all coming back out. I thought about Immodium but wanted to talk with my Dr. first. Have you gone through this? Anything help you?

How many vets are actually AT goal and staying there?
Butterthebean replied to clk's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
Nothing helps me work up a good BM like going for a run. I swear as soon as I get 2 miles from the house it's like a fire alarm goes off in my shorts. TMI? -
This might be TMI but I'm too embarrassed to call and ask my male doctor. I am 3 1/2 weeks out from my surgery and have lost about 35 lbs. The past week I have had a huge increase in vaginal discharge. It is like the kind you get right before ovulation. Has anyone else experienced this?

Anyone else have this during liquid pre op?
Kieshart replied to Chellennunley's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
LOL! I swear I though t it was just me! I ordered a mini fan for my office for the crazy hot flashes. I mean sweat dripping off of my chin in the middle of meetings hot flashes. I have probably motivated a lot of people to lose weight this week after watching me sweat like a mad woman. Liquid diet and sweat go hand iin hand I suppose. I am on Clear liquids now and am not sure if I need to have a bowel movement before surgery or does that matter? Maybe tmi, but should I take a laxative or something? Thanks guys. My surgery is the day after tomorrow morning, the 24th. -
JULY 2013 BAND BUDDIES
BringingSexyBackToTX replied to sprinkle715's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Me too. I've been having protein shakes (made with Unsweetened Plain Almond Milk) and I haven't had a problem getting them down. Actually - I haven't had problems getting anything down yet - which is making me nervous. I HATE throwing up and I dread having to figure all that out about what foods I can/can't eat via the old throw-up test. Not looking forward to that at all. Post-Op/Day 4: Still feeling sore in my belly (like I did a million sit-ups) and tender around my incisions (especially around the larger port site). I'm not hungry but my eyes are starting to get hungry - which worries me. My Dr's plan is Week 1 "thin liquids", Week 2 "thicker liquids" (cream soups, etc) and Week 3 "Mushies". I can't WAIT until mushies! I had a cream soup lsat night (which I wasn't supposed to) and I just hope that I didn't blow anything. I also had to start taking applesauce with my crushed up meds (trying to swallow the powder solo was awful) and I had no problem getting the powdered meds down. I'm just today starting to have weird gas (but not uber painful) in my belly and finally had a BM last night (sorry if TMI, but I was starting to worry!). Now I want the lumpy/swollen belly to go away and my incisions to not be sore anymore.... ready to get back to feeling "normal" and starting this journey! How is everyone else doing so short out of their procedure?
