  1. I have been on a liquid diet for ten days now.where are the solids in my stool coming from? There isn't a lot, but it does happen...
  2. Can we drink Boost or Ensure? I know they are full of Vitamins and Protein. I like the taste and I probably can get a prescription for it. I had one before when I was sick and had IBS.. I know TMI. But I need to save every dime I can.

    Any july 8 sleevers?

Ok folks... TMI time... Had my first hard lesson today. I graduated to softs today and it was so great! After 3 weeks of liquid I was in heaven tasting and chewing savory food, and a teeny amount was so satisfying! So after dinner, everyone in my family got milkshakes. So after many weeks of no sweets, I looked at everyone enjoying their shakes and thought, "hey, its soft." So I ate about 2 oz. Let me tell you all... DON'T try this! You will pay dearly! Won't go into details, but let me just say I'm so glad I was at home and close to a bathroom for the rest of the evening! This memory will definitely keep me away from sweets!

July 2013 - Post Op Thread

Hi Everyone. I am new here. I had my RNY (revised from lap band) on the 22nd. I have lost 6lbs this week and a total of 21 from my pre-op diet. So far I feel like im healing ok. No major pain, no major nausea or issues, however I am not able to get in my liquids and protein. I bought powder and a few pre-made drinks and the sweet taste kills me. I refuse to drink it and water has been hard. yesterday finally I had peppermint tea and I was able to drink that fine and skim milk. Today I experimented and liquified some canned tuna with chicken broth just to get protein and it was just fine. no issues. so thought I am only able to have an oz or 2 at a time, I am working with that and the milk and the tea. Im have weird gas and need to have a BM (sorry tmi) but no luck yet. Im glad I found this page! Everyone seems to be doing fantastic!
  5. Hi this may be tmi, so let me apologize now but this is the ladies room right? My surgery was 6/26/13 and it triggered my period no biggie I was too loaded on anesthesia effects to notice any change....fast forward to a month later and my first "real" post op period and I'm noticing I'm much much more exhausted from it then any period I can recall preop...I've mostly stayed in bed all weekend (which is unusual for me) Do you ladies have any good food suggestions that I could incorporate in the future in the week leading up to and the week of to help increase my energy levels during my time of the month? Vitamin suggestions? What works for you?

  7. Looking for some advice, stories, or just someone to tell me that I'm normal. So, I'm 5 days post-op and having diarhhea. Three to 4 times a day. I know I'm not really eating much, just started pureed but I'm getting a little concerned that if it doesn't stop or cut back that I may end up dehydrated. I try the 30-30-30 rule, eat slow, and so on. I feel like no matter what I do my stomach is constantly grumbling. I don't have trouble getting fluids, food, or protein in, just worried about it all coming back out. I thought about Immodium but wanted to talk with my Dr. first. Have you gone through this? Anything help you?

    Changes "Down There"

This might be TMI but I'm too embarrassed to call and ask my male doctor. I am 3 1/2 weeks out from my surgery and have lost about 35 lbs. The past week I have had a huge increase in vaginal discharge. It is like the kind you get right before ovulation. Has anyone else experienced this?
  18. hey there everyone, hope all is well! i am on T minus 3 days till i will be having surgery! i am ready! i just want to be 3 months from now working out at the gym stage but i know i have a road to jump on and start walking on first.... i am on the liquid stage, and feel like i could eat a cow! i am not hungry till i am hungry, i have a shake and do just fine... i just would like to eat something and chew it up and taste the taste or meat with ketchup! this "sweet-no taste" shake stuff isnt a burger by anymeans!!!!!!!!!! last night i had a soup that i bought thinking it would be good... out of the 10 i got 1 was bad, aweful, and just down right NASTY! i powered thru because i am broke till payday (thursday). with buying all the vitamins and protein shakes and etc i needed it was a little costly just bam out the door... i am super suckered just from not having anything in me to "fuel" me... i went to bed at 8 and got up at 3 with tummy pains and rolled on the floor for about a half hour... i think it was mostly because i hadnt poo'd in a few days... well finially went and it was like rabbit turds sorry tmi. as i sit here at my desk i just want to lay me head down and nap for like 2 solid hours. hope everyone is doing well on their diets and journeys.... please add me as a friend i would love to keep up with people who are also keeping up with me! love ellie
  19. LOL! I swear I though t it was just me! I ordered a mini fan for my office for the crazy hot flashes. I mean sweat dripping off of my chin in the middle of meetings hot flashes. I have probably motivated a lot of people to lose weight this week after watching me sweat like a mad woman. Liquid diet and sweat go hand iin hand I suppose. I am on Clear liquids now and am not sure if I need to have a bowel movement before surgery or does that matter? Maybe tmi, but should I take a laxative or something? Thanks guys. My surgery is the day after tomorrow morning, the 24th.

    JULY 2013 BAND BUDDIES

Me too. I've been having protein shakes (made with Unsweetened Plain Almond Milk) and I haven't had a problem getting them down. Actually - I haven't had problems getting anything down yet - which is making me nervous. I HATE throwing up and I dread having to figure all that out about what foods I can/can't eat via the old throw-up test. Not looking forward to that at all. Post-Op/Day 4: Still feeling sore in my belly (like I did a million sit-ups) and tender around my incisions (especially around the larger port site). I'm not hungry but my eyes are starting to get hungry - which worries me. My Dr's plan is Week 1 "thin liquids", Week 2 "thicker liquids" (cream soups, etc) and Week 3 "Mushies". I can't WAIT until mushies! I had a cream soup lsat night (which I wasn't supposed to) and I just hope that I didn't blow anything. I also had to start taking applesauce with my crushed up meds (trying to swallow the powder solo was awful) and I had no problem getting the powdered meds down. I'm just today starting to have weird gas (but not uber painful) in my belly and finally had a BM last night (sorry if TMI, but I was starting to worry!). Now I want the lumpy/swollen belly to go away and my incisions to not be sore anymore.... ready to get back to feeling "normal" and starting this journey! How is everyone else doing so short out of their procedure?

    June 2013 Sleevers GROUP

This is going to be TMI for some people....but as a woman who has suffered from PCOS and infertility and no natural monthly cycles....I would like to report that I had a cycle start 5 days after my surgery (surgery date june 12) and then I started another cycle today....I cant believe it is finally coming from what seems to be on a normal schedule. I pray that this happens every month so when goal is reached babies can be made without intervention from a fertility specialist :-)
  22. Hi all, I hope this is not TMI. I am only 6 weeks post-op, lost 30lbs as of 2wks but plenty of inches gone. I am loving the changes on my body but apparently so does my hubby. I don't even get a breathing space anymore. He is always chasing me around, smacking me on my behind, touching and kissing me every moment he gets and forget it if the kids are not home. Thank God we bought have a job and I am taking birth control shot, if not......... My point is that I have only lost 30lbs and he is going crazy over his wife. What will happen when I become like a lot of you that have hundreds of pounds? I guess I have to be sleeping under the bed. I love the attention but oh my!

    4 days post op!

It is normal... and yes it will go away.. just keep walking! But sad to say you will always have gas...and at times it can be bad! (tmi sorry!) It's hard to control at times too
  24. I'm four weeks out on Monday. This week, my lower belly has been acting up. Sometimes it just feels sore, and sometimes I have sharp pains. My bladder is hurting as well - I'm on antibiotics for a UTI but they haven't kicked it yet. I'm probably just being paranoid, but I only lost 0.8 this week. 30.4 total. Total loss is great I know, but why the stall? Anyone else have lower pains? It's NOT when I eat. food goes down fine and I go to the bathroom everyday. Sometimes Twice a day bit the amt is small sometimes (TMI). I'm hoping its just gas and surgery pains, but I'm a little worried because I'm almost a month out. Shouldn't all that be gone by now? I'm just anxious due to the stall on week 3, and I was in the hospital 6 days due to infected hematomas. I've had the worst luck and am just afraid I have a crazy blockage or something. Someone talk me off the ledge or send me to the ER.

    April 2013 Post-Op Group

So I just need to get this out. I have been having a huge problem with constipation. (Sorry if its a tmi) so today after trying everything the last 10 days and nothing. I racked my brain to try and remember what was sure fire pre surgery. Chinese food it was. Had 6 shrimps from a shrimp and garlic sauce. along with a few pieces of the vegetables. And sure as shit. (No pun intended) within the hour I felt relief!! Thank god for Chinese food lol.
