If I was a horse, they'd shoot me

First let me say.... Dr. Alvarez Rocks !!!! He and his staff were supportive, knowledgeable, and charming. The Nurses were gentle and kind. OK, with all the niceties behind me.... I am miserable. Turned out I had a very large hiatal hernia. I had no clue, had never been diagnosed, and was asymptomatic. It made my surgery longer and more intensive. My sleeve sisters were burping and farting (TMI), but not me... I was itching like crazy. No rash, just itching. They gave me a Benadryl with only dehydrated me more and made me more uncomfortable, and I was and still am itching. I was also coughing up white foam. Last night once I got home I fell asleep in my recliner. I woke up soaked in sweat. I peeled my clothes off and got in bed and began coughing up the taste of the vile liquid antibiotic. I'm doing my best to sip, sip, sip, but I'm so weak. Just walking across the room and I'm short of breath. Sorry for the whining, but this procedure was no "piece of cake". The gas has settled behind my left shoulder and I'm just miserable. I didn't have gastric reflux pre-op, but I guess I'm one of the "lucky ones" that has it now. Please.... somebody shoot me. -
This may be TMI but I'm thinning a lot down "south" the positive is I don't need bikini waxes. Lol. I'm thinning up top too and already have thin hair so I'm nervous it won't grow back

I was there for two days. So I had already taken an extra pair of panties (just in case. And (tmi alert) if you fart something other then air might come out). The hospital does give you stuff but I don't know if you are like me but I like my own soap and stuff to take a shower. And let me tell you that shower was the best shower in the world. Don't know if you watch The Walking Dead but I was like those guys when they took their first shower in forever. Chapstick is a must. (I had 3). I wore a light t shirt and stretchy yoga pants going in but then changed into one of my over sized sleep shirts. Wore that home.

Thank you! Yes, the research I've done as well all points to improvement to PCOS as well. i'm just hoping everyone who has it has had positive results with their surgery. I have had so much trouble loosing weight due to my PCOS and insulin resistance I would always plateau at around 30 lbs. I want to lose a lot more than that so I can be healthy and eventually if I want to have kids. Sorry if this is TMI, but I only get my period every 3-4 months. I have to go on provera a lot to get it and I hate doing that. I'm hoping after surgery I'll get regular cycles.

OMG Whats that smell?!?!?!
renee replied to w106fox's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
TMI alert!!! I prepared my husband for the smells before I had surgery and I'm a month post-op now. Incredibly, my poop never smells. I'm totally serious. I mean it smells a little, of course, but its nothing. I don't get it. Before surgery it was way grosser than it is now. I wonder why? -
Noisy Stomach! does it get better?
Justkeepswimming37 replied to Dawnyellow's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was also sleeved 7/30 and just started the noises yesterday. TMI warning, I also went #2 for first time and produced a lot of gas so was hoping it was my body just getting up and functioning again. -
Do you eat a lot of sweets or maybe something like coffee that is causing this? Everytime I have caramel macchiato my urine smells like caramel lol I know tmi!!

4 1/2 weeks post sleeve surgery. 1. I went with my Mom a few nights ago to see Pirates of Penzance at the 5th Avenue Theatre and pre-op, I always had to squish in the seat and have my hips pinched the entire show...but, this time, I fit comfortably and was able to focus entirely on the show! 2. I bought some smaller jeans at Value Village for "further down the line" last week- Lane Bryant blue size 4 trouser fit jeans. Pre op, at my highest, I wore a size 7 blue petite LB jean (I miss this old LB sizing BTW- they are the only jeans that have ever fit me like a glove - larger hips, smaller waist). I thought today just to try them on as gauge of where I am...surely they won't fit...and up and over my thighs and butt they slid, and zipped! HOORAY, this is actually working! 3. Probably TMI, but my legs do not fall asleep anymore when I have to sit on the toilet for longer periods of time now! Lol. 4. Feet are getting less wide- shoes are fitting better now! 5. Serving a gooey, chocolate layer cake at a family party and not being tempted to eat a slice. I did have a small shaving of dark chocolate garnish and I was good! Chocolate craving over! Highest weight- 330 Sw- 289 Current- 268.5 Height 5'5

Ever since surgery I feel my tonsils. What the heck?!
DallasSleeve replied to robocop12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine felt like that too from weeks 3-5 and I think it was just acid. TMI- but if I made myself burp over and over, it would go away for a few minutes. It was very uncomfortable and my dr was even thinking I might have had a stricture, then one day I woke up and it was gone! My dr (and some people on this board) suggested prilosec and that might have helped too. -

Hey Everybody, I had my surgery on July 23rd. Everything is going well kinda of. I never had any pain from the surgery, wounds are healing well. But I am tired like most of y'all keep saying you are. I went out yesterday and it was hotttttt outside. I ended up passing out due to the heat. Had a appointment with my doctor today, he said its due to not eating and my blood sugar dropped. Scared the shit outta of me literally, ended up having my first bm that night! Lol tmi I was wondering how much exercise is everyone getting in. I walk around my neighborhood, and play the wii. But since I'm always tired and feel like I'm over heating I can't do much. I know I'm doing something right because in down 28 lbs in a week . But I feel I should be doing more. -
Tmi alert! Vag fat and peeing!
Fabsfluff replied to Mrs.FullerRN's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This has been a topic of convo with me and a few of my sleeved girlfriends...however, has anyone noticed that their "insides" shrunk too??...in the spirit of tmi and all. We've got some pretty "heavy hitters" for s/o's that now feel like they're hitting TOO MUCH. Anybody else experienced this? Sent from my iPhone using VST -
Tmi alert! Vag fat and peeing!
Mrs.FullerRN posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Two questions for those who have lost a significant amount of weight! 1. Do your lady parts shrink? Like the lips and mons pubis? Or do they stay fat? 2.after 3 babies, my bladder leaks a little throughout the day, requiring a panty liner. Will this get better when I no longer weigh 275 lbs? -
Attention February 2013 Sleeve Buddies!
KristiP replied to LizTex2587's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
This is kind of a TMI one, but hey, I'm sure we're all in the same boat to some extent! Just wanted to ask - has anyone been experiencing aversions to foods/types of foods you were formally addicted to (for me it was sweets, especially chocolate or ice cream)? I am now constantly jonesing for salty stuff, and things that are crunchy - crispy crunchy not wet crunchy like a carrot! hahaha I can't get enough salt - to the point that I have been so desperate at times that I have shaken a few small chunks of sea salt out of the grinder and sucked on them one at a time. Love the parmesan cheese chips you can make, because they totally satisfy both the salty and crunchy craving, and it only takes 2 or 3 then I've had enough. I'm still experiencing dumping, but not as intensely or as quickly as I had been in the first few months. The first 6 weeks or so, if I had anything too sugary or fatty, it would either send me into an immediate hot flush with extremely smelly and explosive diarhea and I'd be on the toilet for ages, or it would send me into an immediate dead-cold sweat with lightheaded dizziness and I'd have to go lie down (absolutely had to be horizontal) for at least 20 minutes in pitch black (or something over my head to make it so) before I could recover and then I'd have to hit the toilet for a loooooong time. Now, I don't have those episodes so much, but I will feel very yuck, just very very unwell, semi-nauseous, and needing the toilet quite badly. I actually don't mind the dumping because in some ways it's very handy - makes me stop and think before I eat something, consider what the reaction might be and when........because I don't want to be without access to a loo if it's #2, and I don't want to use someones and then stink it all out! Nothing more embarassing than everyone knowing you were the one that made that oh-so-important room repulsive to use. hahaha Also, my hair.....or my lack of hair. Good Lord it started falling out about 3 months ago and it hasn't let up since. At times it seems like the fall out has slowed down, but then I will take a shower or brush my hair and look at that...another toupe in the drain or a tumbleweed in the brush. My ponytail is so thing now that I use toddler size ponytail holders and my fringe is so thin it constantly looks greasy no matter how clean it is. I get plenty of protein and I take my vitamins and supps religiously........I'm thinking it might be the Metformin I still take. It can have hair loss as a side effect. I'm going to see my doc about cutting the dose in half now. Aside from the hair loss I have no complaints, and I don't regret my decision to sleeve for a second, even when I'm pulling a huge glob of hair out of the drain! I figure it will grow back eventually, and if it doesn't, oh well. It's not the end of the world. Makes wearing a wig easier....not as much hair to put under the cap. hahaha -
I am on day 6 of pre-op diet......It is a lot harder than I thought it was going to be...I was miserable the first few days....I am allowed 3 carnation instant with simply smart milk, 1 small serving of fruit a day, 1 yogurt or ff ss pudding, Popsicles, and jello...bought the variety pack of shakes but I only like the chocolate...to top it all off..it is that time of the month and I am backed up (tmi sorry)....anyone else having issues?

Hi all I am new here!! I had revision surgery from lapband to rny on July 26th!! I think I'm doing ok a little sore and the gas was terrible. I have been walking as much as possible and some of the gas has expelled but when I burp it hurts so bad in my left collarbone area...I am trying so hard to sip sip sip all day but I'm at the point now where I think I want to eat I'm over water and crystal light and these protein drinks are blahhh. I also take antidepressant Paxil I have been on for many years I am feeling a little bit of withdrawal from it and its scaring me....could it just be all I have gone through, the fact that I also got my period?? Sorry tmi lol idk I'm praying that I am not having a malabsorption issue with my pills ???? -
I just tried a quest protein bar. They are so sweet! Sugar is low so weird. I got diarrhea (tmi) 30 minutes later. I never liked candy bars so it makes sense these were too sweet for me. Too bad cuz I was hoping to have found an alternative to protein shakes
