TMI This being constipated all the time is getting real old. It does not matter how much fiber I take, it does not help. They don't want me taking miralax everyday because they don't want my sphincter to rely on it. I don't take iron, only get what's in my celebrate vits. Beings I'm back home at my mothers for my daughters knee surgery Walmart is thirty miles away to go buy a case of suppositories. Gahhh this rant is over. HW 358 SW 344 CW 269 RNY 4/11/2013 -
How was your 5:2 day today?
Globetrotter replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Swizz - I think that is why I like ADF so much, saying no to the goodies on the fast day is easier psychologically, because I tell myself, "don't worry about it, it's not going anywhere, and tomorrow is a feed day." Today is a fast day, which is good because I'm having intestinal pain and not really feeling the food today. I'm getting a good rhythm going again with my ADF, after my next fast day (Saturday) I will weight myself. TMI alert: I have an IUD so I get all the physical and mental symptoms of PMS and a cycle, minus the cycle and right now my bloat is just out of control, my breasts are inflated balloons o' pain, so I'm not real eager to get on the scale. -
I had my 6 mo post-op visit yesterday. I've lost 64 lbs. The doctor said I should have lost more and asked me about my diet. I eat eggs, cheese, microwave lite popcorn, fresh fruit, yogurt, Peanut Butter on apple. I think I'm eating well. That's the whole idea. He said I am eating "way" too many carbs and wants me to cut down to 15 carbs per day. I can do that but when I eat primarily Protein I cannot go number 2 and get so backed up that I'm miserable and end up having to take a load of laxatives once a week to get it all out. That can't be healthy? I hope that's not TMI. LOL. So how many carbs are you eating a day and are you still losing. At 6 months out I'm losing about 1-2 lbs every 2-3 weeks. Thanks

If I was a horse, they'd shoot me
AmyInOrlando posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
First let me say.... Dr. Alvarez Rocks !!!! He and his staff were supportive, knowledgeable, and charming. The Nurses were gentle and kind. OK, with all the niceties behind me.... I am miserable. Turned out I had a very large hiatal hernia. I had no clue, had never been diagnosed, and was asymptomatic. It made my surgery longer and more intensive. My sleeve sisters were burping and farting (TMI), but not me... I was itching like crazy. No rash, just itching. They gave me a Benadryl with only dehydrated me more and made me more uncomfortable, and I was and still am itching. I was also coughing up white foam. Last night once I got home I fell asleep in my recliner. I woke up soaked in sweat. I peeled my clothes off and got in bed and began coughing up the taste of the vile liquid antibiotic. I'm doing my best to sip, sip, sip, but I'm so weak. Just walking across the room and I'm short of breath. Sorry for the whining, but this procedure was no "piece of cake". The gas has settled behind my left shoulder and I'm just miserable. I didn't have gastric reflux pre-op, but I guess I'm one of the "lucky ones" that has it now. Please.... somebody shoot me. -
This may be TMI but I'm thinning a lot down "south" the positive is I don't need bikini waxes. Lol. I'm thinning up top too and already have thin hair so I'm nervous it won't grow back

I was there for two days. So I had already taken an extra pair of panties (just in case. And (tmi alert) if you fart something other then air might come out). The hospital does give you stuff but I don't know if you are like me but I like my own soap and stuff to take a shower. And let me tell you that shower was the best shower in the world. Don't know if you watch The Walking Dead but I was like those guys when they took their first shower in forever. Chapstick is a must. (I had 3). I wore a light t shirt and stretchy yoga pants going in but then changed into one of my over sized sleep shirts. Wore that home.

Thank you! Yes, the research I've done as well all points to improvement to PCOS as well. i'm just hoping everyone who has it has had positive results with their surgery. I have had so much trouble loosing weight due to my PCOS and insulin resistance I would always plateau at around 30 lbs. I want to lose a lot more than that so I can be healthy and eventually if I want to have kids. Sorry if this is TMI, but I only get my period every 3-4 months. I have to go on provera a lot to get it and I hate doing that. I'm hoping after surgery I'll get regular cycles.

OMG Whats that smell?!?!?!
renee replied to w106fox's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
TMI alert!!! I prepared my husband for the smells before I had surgery and I'm a month post-op now. Incredibly, my poop never smells. I'm totally serious. I mean it smells a little, of course, but its nothing. I don't get it. Before surgery it was way grosser than it is now. I wonder why? -
Noisy Stomach! does it get better?
Justkeepswimming37 replied to Dawnyellow's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was also sleeved 7/30 and just started the noises yesterday. TMI warning, I also went #2 for first time and produced a lot of gas so was hoping it was my body just getting up and functioning again. -
Do you eat a lot of sweets or maybe something like coffee that is causing this? Everytime I have caramel macchiato my urine smells like caramel lol I know tmi!!

4 1/2 weeks post sleeve surgery. 1. I went with my Mom a few nights ago to see Pirates of Penzance at the 5th Avenue Theatre and pre-op, I always had to squish in the seat and have my hips pinched the entire show...but, this time, I fit comfortably and was able to focus entirely on the show! 2. I bought some smaller jeans at Value Village for "further down the line" last week- Lane Bryant blue size 4 trouser fit jeans. Pre op, at my highest, I wore a size 7 blue petite LB jean (I miss this old LB sizing BTW- they are the only jeans that have ever fit me like a glove - larger hips, smaller waist). I thought today just to try them on as gauge of where I am...surely they won't fit...and up and over my thighs and butt they slid, and zipped! HOORAY, this is actually working! 3. Probably TMI, but my legs do not fall asleep anymore when I have to sit on the toilet for longer periods of time now! Lol. 4. Feet are getting less wide- shoes are fitting better now! 5. Serving a gooey, chocolate layer cake at a family party and not being tempted to eat a slice. I did have a small shaving of dark chocolate garnish and I was good! Chocolate craving over! Ever since surgery I feel my tonsils. What the heck?!
DallasSleeve replied to robocop12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine felt like that too from weeks 3-5 and I think it was just acid. TMI- but if I made myself burp over and over, it would go away for a few minutes. It was very uncomfortable and my dr was even thinking I might have had a stricture, then one day I woke up and it was gone! My dr (and some people on this board) suggested prilosec and that might have helped too. -

July 2013 - Post Op Thread
LuvinDee replied to PittGuy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey Everybody, I had my surgery on July 23rd. Everything is going well kinda of. I never had any pain from the surgery, wounds are healing well. But I am tired like most of y'all keep saying you are. I went out yesterday and it was hotttttt outside. I ended up passing out due to the heat. Had a appointment with my doctor today, he said its due to not eating and my blood sugar dropped. Scared the shit outta of me literally, ended up having my first bm that night! Lol tmi I was wondering how much exercise is everyone getting in. I walk around my neighborhood, and play the wii. But since I'm always tired and feel like I'm over heating I can't do much. I know I'm doing something right because in down 28 lbs in a week . But I feel I should be doing more. -
Tmi alert! Vag fat and peeing!
Fabsfluff replied to Mrs.FullerRN's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This has been a topic of convo with me and a few of my sleeved girlfriends...however, has anyone noticed that their "insides" shrunk too??...in the spirit of tmi and all. We've got some pretty "heavy hitters" for s/o's that now feel like they're hitting TOO MUCH. Anybody else experienced this? Sent from my iPhone using VST
