    December 2018 Sleevers!

Everyone’s journey is different but rest assured of and when u can do all the steps it will come off . I had the dreaded 3 week stall and then week 6 stall and finally at the end of week 7 the scale is moving again . I think our bodies sometimes need time to catch up . I also have started drinking lemon water as a diuretic and maybe I’m imagining it but the weight is coming off quicker . My nut told me that sometimes the fat leaves but the cells fills with water so the diuretic flushed it out .
  2. Yes it happens all the time. Trust the process, do what your team says and stay off the scales. Easier said than done i know. Read the back pages on here of the 3 week stall
  3. Was sleeved 10/23 and lost 29 lbs during the first 2 weeks. Started pureed right after my 2 week mark. I Weighed myself this morning and was only down 2 lbs this week. What the heck? Has to be some sort of stall because I weigh 379 and would think I would lose more than that!

    OCTOBER 2014

I was pretty much back to pre surgery weight at my 1 week post op appointment too. I haven't weighed in a few days, since I'm coming up on the dreaded 3 week stall I have vowed to only weight once a week, I'm doing that on Thursday Morn.

    OCTOBER 2014

I'm Oct 23rd!!! Been is a stall for a couple days. (Someone referred to it as the dreaded 3 week stall) Dr wants to start me on Actigal because I had such a large loss already. Says it's to protect my Gall bladder. It's $400 a month though!!!!! Ugh punishment for losing weight too fast? Lol can't wait to see everyone's progress!!

    May 24 Surgery Day

I think I have reached the 3 week stall. I have been the same weight for about 4 days. Has anyone else had a forever long period? I have a IUD and haven't had a period in two years. All of a sudden bam here it is for the past few weeks. Plus the blood thinners I am on make it worse...like clots....sorry if this is TMI.
  7. Hey Leanne. How are you? Sorry I've been a bit AWOL. Work this week has been tiring, I had Thursday off. I've also hit the dreaded 3 week stall so hope it shifts soon. Since pre op I've lost 16kgs so that's pretty good. Over this crappy weather. I really wanna go for some walks!! Hopefully tomorrow. I was excited though, I'm fitting into size 24. Considering I was struggling with size 26 I'm happy with that. How are you all going??
  8. So, me and my partner are surviving off food stamps, as we have to right now, and we are out for the month. That doesn't allow me much in the way of what to eat. The foods I can eat I have to ration. Im 3 weeks po and in the dreaded 3 week stall. I ate ramen noodles and meat last night, because I had to get something in. Don't come at me for choices, how unhealthy, etc etc, because I know. They sat ok, no pain, kinda feels like they may still be sitting this morning? Not sure. Guess I am just looking for reassurance that I will be ok. Sent from my SM-N986U1 using BariatricPal mobile app

Weight loss stall 3 weeks post- OP

This was a life saver when I hit the 3 weeks stall. I do not know if Inner Surfer Girl is still on BP but her posting is worth reading. I am so glad she posted it and thought it was time to let the newbies know about it as I have been seeing a lot of posting about 3 week stalls.
  10. I hit the 3 week stall at about two weeks out. .. I figure with pre op that's 3weeks. It lasted about a week and a half where I eent up and down about a pound. Then it just started falling off again. The body just needs to catch up. Stay on track, your doing great!

Misty, Agile development sounds fun:) Being a BA myself, we are having a great "uh-hum" time transitioning to Agile requirement documentation and development. Enjoy your reading, what are you reading? I tend to agree, Sue, you are onto something with the 3 week stall. I can barely think of anyone who hasnt had the 3 week stall Carmella, stay strong it will pass soon, and you will be back on a loosing streak. Lessismore...good luck, think I am a bit late but hope the surgery went well. Lissa, day 1 and I am failing...last minute travel put a spanner in my works, seeing as I am on a 7 am flight and wont be on a flight home til 7pm, wont get the work out in today and am eatting on the run...eeeek

    4 Things I Wish I Would've Known Pre Op

    - I wish I wouldve known that my taste buds would change. - I wish I wouldve known that the 3 week stall can happen in the first month postop. - I wish I wouldve known how weak and lack of energy I would be the first week. - I wish I wouldve known how much emotions are involved in the process. - I wish I wouldve known how difficult it would be to sleep the first week. - I wish there were more posts like this to help all those preop patients on here. Everyone's experience is different. I am grateful I never threw up and didnt have complications. Im 3 weeks postop and no more pain or gas. But I do have constipation issues and some acid reflux that is being controlled with prilosec. I am currently on 11 day stall, but I have lost 19lbs total. I am happy to be a sleever and I know this is only a tool. We must follow our food stages and exercise for this tool to be a success!
  15. Hi guys. I finally decided to join in on this thread. Have been following the thread for a while now. A lot of useful information I just love reading everybody stories. My name is Sunette and I am from Perth WA. Sleeved 22/3/2013 about 6 weeks out. Pre-surgery weight 99.8kg Surgery day 95.4kg Post op weight loss 6.1kg Currently 89.2kg I have lost consistently for the 1st 3 weeks post op and nothing since then. Getting in my Protein and Water and walking a lot (I am a Registered Nurse) I am becoming discouraged and thinking is this it? What if my sleeve isn't working? I know almost everybody stall at 3 weeks but a 3 week stall in total is just getting me down. Well that is my final crying in your ears. Congrats to everybody weight loss so far. Honestly love this thread and support. Sunette

    August Sleevers Check In

Hey, I am right there with you. We all hear about the 3 week stall, but sure hope and pray it does not happen to us. I hit mine right at 3 weeks, when I switched to soft foods. Doc explained to me that it has a lot to do with just having more food in you bowls (TMI). This too shall pass. I just quit weighing everyday. So I will be 4 weeks out this Thursday and I am not going to get on the scales until then. I am just going to focus on doing the right thing each day, protein, water and mover. Our bodies are wonderful things, we just have to trust them. But it does pi$$ me off also, wonder if being pi$$ed off burns more calories, LOL. Take care, Laura

    October 2022 surgery support

I'm 3 weeks and a couple days out now and I think I'm hitting the dreaded "3 week stall" or at least for me, the 3 week slow down. I was losing 1 pound a day before and the past few days it's been closer to .1-.2. I'm okay with this still even if it does come to a halt for a while. My stomach healing seems to be going backwards though. It has started cramping a lot while eating and drinking, and even occasionally when I'm just sitting here doing nothing. My team told me to go back to liquids for a couple days, so I've been doing that. ☹️ I was supposed to start soft foods next Tuesday but now it looks like I won't be able to.
  18. update: I've been in a 3 weeks stall!! surgery weight: 232 on 9/07/2012 current weight: 165 on 2/26/2013 I'm almost 70 down, but I know I need to spend up my cardio! have u guys gone back on your liquid diets? let me know if it works and what what you guys do to avoid temptations! Thankyou!!

    Not losing anything? ?

I have been gaining also! I have gained 3kg since last week and I dunno why as I am not going over 1,000kcals a day sometimes no where near but someone has said bout carbs to cut them back out and see what happens I hear you, it sucks so bad to see a gain! but if you search 3 week stall from this site, there is so much advice already on here about it and after 4 days of moping, i feel so much better! the experts know what they are talking about! we'll see the scale moving soon just keep at it

Why Am I Dropping Weight So Slowly?

You're doing just great! How much we lose at first all depends on a lot of different things....starting weight (the lower the starting weight, the less lost at first) age, gender (males lose SO MUCH FASTER!) . Yeah, a pound a day is great for the first few weeks. But don't expect that rate of loss to continue. Expect a stall soon (the dreaded 3 week stall) and after that, the weight loss happens at a more "normal" rate (2-4 pounds a week). Just follow your plan, keep hydrated, move a little, and you should continue to lose at a fairly steady pace. Try not to compare yourself to others, either. Good luck and congrats!

August post op sleevers: Check in

@@ruskatie, Welcome! I just broke a 3 week stall. Had my surgery the 20th and only lost 20 lbs the first week. So you my dear are actually doing well. Sorry about the complications... The people on this forum are so helpful and you'll start to realize all that you're going thru is the norm. I too was worried and frustrated but my scale is moving again and yours will too. Hang in there, you're right on track.

    August surgery buddies!

I'm having the same thoughts! My doc did warn me about the 3 week stall so hopefully they'll be understanding and helpful.

    Not losing anything? ?

Thanks everyone for the informative posts. I was sleeved on March 4, 2015 and hit the 3 Week Stall and have stayed at the same weight for the past 2 weeks. While I've been getting in the 60g of Protein, I need to increase the water; I'm barely hitting 60 oz daily. I've got a number of things that can be tweaked to make it better. The good news is that what the scales aren't saying, the measurement tape is. So, I'm losing crazy inches, which is good, but I definitely want to improve the eating to balance this. I appreciate the helpful hints from the veterans who've been doing this for some time. I will take your lead and expect to do better, feel better, and see better. Huge thanks!!!!!

August post op sleevers: Check in

I'm right with you. My surgery was on August 27. Since my pre-op diet and then the surgery, I've lost about 28 pounds, but am stuck right there. I've been reading all over the web about the "3-week stall" which maybe we both have. I'm just glad my close are loose, I dropped a size, and am feeling good. I'm sticking to my prescribed diet habits, except I don't think I'm getting enough protein, so I started putting packets of unflavored protein in my morning yogurt. Maybe more protein will help star up the weight loss again.

    December 2018 Sleevers!

We’ve all had the 2-3 week stall. U can eat again andnpurees go down easier and u can drink / eat more . It’s normal. I found that u can get through the stall if U kick up ur exercise and break a sweat with brisk walking or spinning or something that gets ur heart rate up. And just watch the calories, carbs and protein grams . Keep to 600 calories and over 60 gnofnprotein and under 50g of carb. Get in ur 64 oz of liquid. It will break , only weigh urself once a week
