Congrats everyone!!! Great NSVs. I am constantly amazed by the things I fit through. I take up way less space in reality than I do in my head...In my head I am still a million gagillion inches wide... But fitting between people and things is WAY easier now! Rain

Sounds like a serious NSV to me! Big congrats, eh. And you will be losing the lbs, too. Keep on enjoying the trip.

I've had a bunch of NSVs recently! When I sit in a chair I find myself crossing my legs without even thinking about it! And I can sit like that for a while, unlike before, where after 30 seconds it hurt to keep them crossed. I actually have the following body parts (or at least now I'm 100% sure): A neck! A hip bone! Collar bones! A rib cage! Also, the chairs in my classrooms are the chairs with an attached desk, which are not big people friendly by any means! Last year I could barely sit comfortably in them. Now I have plenty of room to move and I can even cross my legs under them! And......I bought an XL sweater from the Misses department!!!! I'm not quite an XL in tops yet, but this one fit, so who cares, it wasn't a plus size!:tt2::w00t::smile:

GREAT NSV's Mine... (besides the clothes I'm fitting into again) is.... The proud feeling I have walking OUT of the gym all sweaty and red faced!
-
Best POSSIBLE NSV: I keep shaking my head and saying "I can't see it!" when people tell me how much they can tell I've lost. Today DH was hugging me and said, 'Oh, yeah -- look how much farther my arms go around you now!!' As he turned me to look in the mirror! I think I might get someone to snap THAT shot for my Before and After photos....I like using him for my 'tape measure'!!! Nana<----still DOESN'T SEE IT, but can't seem to lose that silly grin today!

On Wednesday it will be one month since my surgery and I feel great!!! My NSV is that I can fit into 3 different pairs of jeans I had saved that I haven't been able to fit into in over 9 months! YAYA!! P.S And... there even starting to get loose now!

I went to the drs. yesterday and realized, while sitting in the waiting room, that my butt didn't fill the entire seat. Then, while at my sister's house, my butt didn't fill her entire seat either. YEAH!!! I love love love NSVs! Oh, and I lost enough weight that the dr. will consider doing something that he wouldn't do 70lbs ago....Best day ever!!! Rain

Here are two quick ones....yesterday we went to Outback for lunch. Whoever designed their booths must be an avowed 'fattie hater', because they are HORRIFIC!! I've been able to get in them since a couple of months after surgery (couldn't EVEN before!), but getting out was not always a pretty sight and often required my husband's assistance. Yesterday, I was up and out of the booth before HE was and we both looked at each other with shock, then began to LOL!!! The other one made us LOL, too!!! A couple of weeks ago I noticed (don't know when it actually happened!) that my navel has gone from looking like this --> O to looking like this --> | !!!! Now that's not at all 'pretty', but, it'll be 'fixed' eventually, but for now, it's a big NSV......SOMETHING had to have happened for that dramatic change!

Love love love reading everyone's NSV's!! I had one last week. I went to Target on my lunch break just to browse/kill time and as I wondered over to the clothing area I of course started walking towards the "Plus" area. I stopped myself and went into the regular (or whatever the heck you call it) size area and looked around. I tried on a few tops and they fit! I bought one and was thrilled that I can start shopping in the other area! All those clothes that have been off limits for so long! Oh the selection...it's mind boggling.

FUN NSV - Now when I sit down and look down, I can actually see my navel!!! I no longer have that gi-normous spare tire blocking my view. Does anyone else have some fun non-scale victories to share?

*MALE ONLY* How Frequetnly Did You Drop Sizes?
fernandfj replied to illailla's topic in The Guys’ Room
I dropped from a 50 to a 36 in pants and I pretty much dropped a size a month. I ended up getting a few pairs of inexpensive pants every size because of work (I hate the baggy look). I found that Haggar makes a great and cheap dress pant (about $20-25 on sale online) that did the trick. I dropped neck sizes too, but only from an 18 1/2 to a 17, so I didn't have to cycle through so many dress shirts. T-shirts and polos went from XXL to L, but those are acceptable baggy, so I used the XXLs until the L's fit. Now I am down to where I'd like to stay, so am starting to build up my wardrobe again. It's been incredible shopping in places that I never thought I'd be able to use. Best of all - I went from an XXL in boxer briefs to a S!!!!! Me in an S!!!! Best clothing NSV of all! -
Ok.. this is funny so be ready to giggle.. Katerzz's NSV of the day: When your nurse whos giving you an unfill tells you its time to retire my pants. She tells me, "they are wayyyy to big on you i cant believe you can keep them up" (btw.. the pants.. i love them they are black silky pants that ive had for years Granted, almost 70 lbs later.. well ya you get the picture) HAHAHAHA I'm loving it... (i think the fresh water is going to my head after that unfill)

Becca that is so sweet and awesome! I can't think of a better anniversary present than smaller clothes!!!!! I also have an NSV to share! I can now fit into a size 20 jeans!!!! My 22's are starting to get too baggy so I put on the 20's and I could zip them up. They were a little tight at first, but after wearing them around the house for a bit they got to feeling just right! I can't wait to be able to wear the 18's I was wearing a couple of years ago during one of my prior weight loss attempts. I have a bunch of clothes in my closet that I haven't been able to fit in for a while and I getting more and more clothes that aren't fitting me now because they are too big! This is such a wonderful thing!!!!!

Excellent NSV´s. Maybe no one has had this problem before but...I've not been able to pop the trunk from the inside. But arm wouldn't reach, but lo and behold! I can now!

I am loving all of your NSV's! Keep em coming! The other day I was out riding my motorcycle and my engagement ring kept sliding around my finger from the vibration of the bike. It has never done that before. Also, my best friend was over here yesterday. She is heavier than me but has been losing weight on her own and is now in the size I was at when I was at my heaviest. I went through my closet and gave her some pretty dresses that she can either fit in now or will be able to fit in soon. She was thrilled that she got some nice new clothes and I was thrilled to get rid of them! Good riddance! LOL

Today when they were prepping me for surgery they used the regular blood pressure cuff. I needed the large one before. Told the nurse "Wow, nice NSV there.".

Ready, that is my favorite kind of NSV, when people notice! Sometimes we can be kind of hard on ourselves and don't really see the improvements. So when people point it out, it feels so good! Beach, WOW! What a great NSV!! It's so nice to get flirts from some cuties... :huh2: Keep up the good work everyone!

I had a wonderful NSV today. Went to Walmart and happened to pass swimsuits and looked and saw some with longer skirts that will cover tummy hangover. I knew an18 would fit so I took a 16 knowing by summer I could wear it. Got home, tried it on and it's only a little tight, I could wear it now. When I took it off I realized it was a 12-14 missy. I almost fainted. That was happy NSV for me!!!!!!

Thank you Peabody, it was so great! I have not craved any chips today at all. I cannot describe how wonderful it felt, it was almost like I felt like I defeated them in a sense. Sounds like you too had a great NSV, and yes we are so kicking but over here in VV land. I have yet another as a matter of fact! It seems like I am have at least one a day right now. This was is a real kicker, it must have been the sodium from yesterdays "chip episode", but my port site feels a little sore today. Well, I was telling my husband and it is kind of poking out and you can feel it. We were sitting side by side and his arm was around me, so he reaches around from the back way to try to feel it. It was the funniest thing, he rubs his finger along my rib cage and says, "yes, I can feel it!" I started laughing so hard, and I told him, "no, that is my ribcage - I know you have not felt my ribs in a really long time". He started laughing so hard he almost started crying! That was so great! My ribs had been hiding out for about a decade - and my hubby finally noticed for me that they have returned. How great is that!?

CONGRATS, to all who have had some great NSV's so far!! For those still waiting for one, it will come soon no doubt! And for anyone not having to shop in the Big Gals Stores, that is so great! I can't wait. I had a huge one over the weekend. Clothes shopping. I needed new clothes because I hadn't really done any extensive clothes shopping in say, oh, maybe 8-10 years. Embarrassing to say... I went through my closet and pulled out anything too big, and when I say "too big", I mean like size 3-4X tops. I've already long ago wasted my size 28's (snug). I started losing weight a few years ago, but maybe a size a year. That's why I chose to get the band so I can rid myself of the over-eating and hopefully reach my goal by this time next year. Anyway, I did keep most or all of my shirts over those years. They were so super huge on me now and I was looking frumpy and with outdated clothes from years and years ago. Needless to say, out they went. I was left with maybe 5 shirts! I had to go shopping. The good part to all this is, I fit very comfortably in a size 1X shirt, and some were even a bit big. I made sure all my shirts fitted nicely though. I came away with the GREAT sales deals too. I bought 30 shirts, 10 pants and 6 new pair of shoes. My feet have definitely thinned out. I can wear shoes I know my big feet would not have looked so cute in before surgery. My best part was though, that I can squee-ee-eeze into a size 18 now. I did buy some and I even picked up a few 16's. I don't think I paid more than $20 for any item. Except of course my shoes, and one pair of jeans. I bought some Apple Bottoms from Macy's Woman. I also bought a formal gown from Nordstrom Rack for only $47. It is so beautiful and good quality. It had no flaws that I could tell. It is a size 14 and I tried it on. I can get it on, I just can zip it up - but soon. I have it on my bedroom door for display, for incentive. It's working!!!! Keep it up everyone - let us know about all those great things besides the scale going down!

Wow! WHat a great NSV. I can't wait to wear my engagement ring and wedding bands again. It has been quite a while. Thanks for the reminder. i am going to dig them out and keep trying.

I hear ya, Little Miss Band-Aid! Why is it the boobs and butt go first? NSVS: I've gone from a 26/28 to a 22 in jeans. Some 22's are even loose. Can't wait to get into a 20. I can't remember the last time I wore that size! My stomach doesn't touch the steering wheel in the car anymore. I finally put the sleep apnea machine in the closet. Don't think I'll be needing it anymore! Before surgery, I had heartburn almost daily. I ate Zantac or Tums like candy. I don't remember the last time I had heartburn! I'm so glad to be rid of that!!
-
Thank you Tskelli. You helped me to focus on some NSVs instead of the 2 pounds I gained. Pretty sure it's water since I made really salty carnitas and drank a ton last night. Anyway, I too have been heartburn free since my surgery. Really nice to live without that. And I can no longer use my stomach to steer while I open a straw or whatever. It just won't reach the steering wheel no matter how hard I push it out. Yay!
