    What is your NSV?

I have 5 NSV's to share today! My pants are falling off, and shoes are loose! I feel more energetic - no naps Walked around the Canadian National Exhibition for hours yesterday People are very encouraging; you look great, your skin is great, what have you done Taking public transit now and walked home from subway; no bus for me! I have been a little sore, like I pulled something for the 2nd time. These 5 things make up for that! First fill next Monday! So what is making you happy outside of what your scale says? (I am weighing myself next week) Kim

    Two Weeks Post Op today!

Sometimes I still wake up and can’t BELIEVE I went and got me some weight loss surgery. I actually did it. This year is gonna BANG, BABY! Highest Weight EVAH- 273 Day of Surgery - 250 Week 1 Weight - 241.2 Week 2 Weight - 239.2 Total Loss - 10.8lbs (-2lbs) I promised myself that I would never be disappointed about a loss, so I refuse to be disappointed. I DID expect more but my body has been playing bald headed games with constipation and water retention, in addition to the adjustment from clear liquids to FULL liquids and eating soups and such. I’m happy to see a loss from last week. I DID see as low as 238.4 this week but then I went back up to 240! ACK! Enter Colace and lots of water to save the day. I expect to see 238 again soon. This is a BIG reason why I weigh everyday. I know, I know, it drives everyone else crazy. What drives ME crazy is to get on the scale after a week and seeing an increase and not knowing WHY. What to correct, what to do. If I get on in the morning and I’m up, I review the day before. Too much salt? Too much nibbling? Not enough of water? It gives me the power of correcting right then and there and then I can watch the numbers go back down. Knowing I am up but not being able to rule out a food or a behavior is useless to me. NSV’s this week- Not too many, it’s still early on in my journey and the weight isn’t ‘falling off’ like it has for others. NOT COMPLAINING cause it is still coming off! I can’t wear any of my size 20 or 22 jeans. I guess that is good. My knees don’t ache like they used to… I can bound up the stairs at my house now. Used to take me a full minute to go up or down 12 steps. I’m sure there are lots of things but sometimes it’s like… I’m doing something and I think…hey! I can DO THIS NOW! Also, I have a jacket that I bought last fall- a berry red trench from Target in XL. The arms on it were SO TIGHT I rarely wore it because I always felt like I was choking. I am no longer choking! \o/ I can’t button it yet….cause I’m busty… but that’ll be another milestone. Week was good, rather uneventful and I suppose that’s how it’ll go. Some will be better than others. I feel like I am still adjusting to The Sleeved Life. I also feel like I need to really get to WORK adding in exercise. I’ve been doing one mile walks about every other day and as my energy allows, I’ve got to start adding in more. This weight isn’t going to just fall off, unfortunately.

    NSV...

@Deb9386that's a NSV to really be proud of! Hooray For you and your health!!!
  5. Weight loss has helped me and so has cutting back on caffeine. Awesome NSV!
  6. Hey Guys, I went car shopping last night w/ my BFF and her hubby... They're looking for a midsize sedan or small SUV.. anyway, we test drove the new Honda Accord, Chrysler 200 and some Lexus car... so, I was like.. oh Lord.. I don't think I can get in the backseat of this car... Not only did I fit in the backseat, so did my neice, nephew and salesperson!!! LOL... Then I was concerned about the seatbelt... NO ISSUES in either vehicle... the next test was whether or not I needed to move the front seat back so I could have space to get in and out of the front seat... HEHEHEHEHE.... I didn't!!!!! I'm so tickled, that finally, I don't have to drive an SUV or big, cute car... I can just buy a CUTE car, regardless of the size!!! Another reason I'm grateful for Sleevina!!!
  7. I bet that was LOTS of fun! a crash right in front of you...wow! i bet the crowd went nuts! that is awesome that you were able to lose while gone! isn't that amazing! no way we would have done that before the band! I'm working on uploading my pics....it's scary! i still can't believe my size and that i thought for a half a second that maybe i DIDN'T need to do this....i should have done it a LOT sooner! I am down another pound. 47 pounds gone.... so close to 50 but i seem to be slowing down. of course with all the snacking and junk that has been around the house....I only have MYSELF to blame for eating the way i have. today, i am doing liquids. my Protein shakes (carnation essentials with egg whites for added protien). I need to get myself out of this rut. i wasn't even craving junk anymore, but now that i have let myself eat it, i want ONLY that. on to NSV....i had hubby get down the box of clothes that was put in the attic when we moved since i was pregnant at the time and figured i would not fit in them for a while....then the 2nd pregnancy...and now the 'baby' is almost 2 and i have no excuse to still have 'baby' weight. it was labeled 'clothes i won't fit into for a very long time' box. it had a mix of sizes from 8's down to 4's....the 8's ALL FIT!!!!! i was SO excited that i went through my closet and tried on pants.... my 8's fit! i even had a pair of 6's fit! (ok, it's old navy and for me, old navy runs big because when i bought that pair of pants, all the rest of my jeans were 8's)...but OMG did that feel GREAT!! of course, it didn't stop me from shoveling the crap into my mouth! I'm joining a running club with my neighbor this weekend. I hope this boost my motivation, beats my slowdown of weight and makes me stop and think before putting the junk into my mouth!!!! ok, the pics are on my computer...i'm going figure out how to upload them to the site.....shield your eyes...it's NOT a pretty site! ACK!~
  8. Yay, me! Lol. I just figured out I don't have to unfasten my button and zipper to get my pants down! Too funny.

    NSV

Yay! to all! My best NSV, was when I was bowling last Sunday. We were discussing the next week, and I said well Sunday is my birthday, so not sure if we will come. Then I went to bowl. The lady on the other team asked my son how old I was going to be, he said 63. She said "wow! She doesn't look a day over 50." He told me this later on. Man, I was like do I feel great or what. Karen

    NSV - I'm a slob!

Congratulations on your NSV! I too know how good this accomplishment feels. I am also a fellow slob when it comes to eating. My husband can't help but smile everytime I spill something because he know it's only a matter of time. I'm a sucker for the dipping sauces:)

    NSV - I'm a slob!

How many years have I wanted to drop food on myself and have it actually land on something other than my boobs!?! I was just eating some roast beef and applesauce for lunch. I looked down with disgust when I noticed that I had been a slob and dripped it down my front. Then it hit me! It went all the way down my front! LOL How crazy is this? I'm excited that I'm a slob that can actually get the food all the way down my shirt instead of just on my boobs. w00t! Next goal? Nothin' but lap baby! *looks down* Hm.. I know there's one down there somewhere.

    NSV - I'm a slob!

Congratulations! I too am a SERIOUS slob. Most of my friends describe me as "a spilly one." That's gotta feel great to have your first NSV. I haven't even had a SV yet but hopefully I'll be hot on your tracks! Congrats! Suzanne

    NSV - I'm a slob!

Thanks everyone! I knew you'd understand. And yup, Ddiedre, I am thrilled that my girls are shrinking! Maybe all of the reductions pics I've been looking at online scared them into submission! hehe Chatterbutter - NSV means non scale victory. A benefit of your bandedness other than a scale reading. Neat huh? And this wasn't my first. They are coming so quickly now that I can't even remember my first. Here's a few more that happened over this last weekend: 1. I put my sunglasses on and they were so loose I thought they were broken. 2. I had to raise the seat in the car. Since my butt and legs are shrinking, I was "shorter" in the seat! 3. I can wraps my arms around my husband and link my fingers together - completely! 4. I have gone from a size 26 pants to a 20 in jeans, and 18/20s in what I call soft pants - elastic waist, soft t-shirt type material. Um, yeah, I bought these 18/20s last week or the week before, and they are literally falling off of me! Woohoo! Diane - you are extraordinarily, hugely wonderful and I love ya! *hugs* All the rest of you slobs - Here's to food stains on our pants and not on our shirts! LOL
  17. Best NSV to date: Walking into my son's house about a year after surgery and hearing him say "Holy F, Mom, where's the rest of you?!"
  18. I am only about six weeks out now...but I have my 'skinny closet' separate from my regular closet ...yep, I have kept skinny clothes from the past. I periodically go through it & get rid of what I wouldn't wear now...but I've got quite a few clothes in it...my NSV was me having the determination to get a dress out of there this weekend, hang it on the outside so I see it as soon as I wake up....and for the first time in years, I KNOW I will be back in that dress in a year or so ( I hope sooner, but I am realistic!)...yahoo!!!!!!!

    New NSV for ME!

I about messed my britches a little while ago when I fit in my Mom's size 12 pants! I was able to snap and zip!!!! OMG, I am the happiest thing on this earth right now. I told my mom the other night that I wanted to be in a 12 by this time and low and behold what happened??? My Mom said "Angie you look smaller than me lets try on these pants." I tried them on and they fit. I jumped like tigger all throughout the house I was sooo happy!!!!! This lapband has done wonders for my spirit and my happiness. I was so unhappy and so unhealthy the way that I was. Life is looking up girls!! WOOT! Angie
  20. I had lost 17 pounds in 12 weeks (also following my plan perfectly) I'm now sitting 12 pounds below goal and have been for over 1 1/2 years. The rate that you lose has absolutely nothing to do with your ultimate success. Just stick on plan, sit back and enjoy the NSVs. And stay off the scale if it upsets you so much. I would so love an NSV!!! Still not one yet.
  21. My most recent pre surgery NSV was having my husband remove a link from my watch so it doesn't just slosh around my wrist and realizing that it won't take too much more loss for another link to come off! I was almost giddy about it, and it made my husband laugh (in a nice way). Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-T989 using VST

    NSV???

NSV = Non scale Victory! Way to go! The best NSV's are the ones where our significant others are the ones to realize it. Well done!
