    Anyone Diabetic

I have a protein that is flavorless. I'm 3 years out and have tried many different proteins. I just found this product 3 months ago and it is great. The name of it is GENEPRO. I bought it online. If you have a AMAZON account you can go there to find it. Sorry about you having a hard time. I add the protein to my coffee mostly You can add it to anything you want the good thing is it has 30 grams of protein. I honestly can not taste it. I just mix it in a little warm water then add it to my coffee Works GREAT!!
  2. Sleeved 09.08.2015 - An easy way to get your protein in is to use Genepro protein powder. 30gm per tbsp! Tasteless and mixes with hot or cold. I buy mine on Amazon.

    Clear liquids

Mine is Tuesday, Aug 1 also. I started mine on Thursday. Had an awful headache all day. Not use to a lot of sweats and although they don't taste bad, 3 Premier Protein shakes a day was too much, Broth was good. I used home-canned turkey-vegetable broth. You can flavor up plain broth with spices. Since I am only required to do liquid only on Monday, chicken breast just to eat I received my genepro 2 I ordered and tried with my broth. For me, it worked just as claimed (maybe a slight tinge of smell) but it did dissolve completely in broth when prepared as directed first. Made the liquid diet easy now. I've done fine with not eating. Knowing this is just temporary and I will eat again is not a problem. I cook for my family and no temptation. Just have to remember NOT to taste out of habit. I did have an hour last night when I suddenly became extremely nervous and questioning if I was doing the right thing, but I got on here and read and calmed myself. I'm excited and scared(a little) but, it this is for my health. Praying for no complications because I am a self-pay with no coverage for complications.
  4. My plan allowed refried beans in the puréed stage, but they said to purée the beans before eating them (even though they’re already mashed, there are still some lumps). I don’t see why you couldn’t do that unless they’re concerned about the carbs or the fiber or something. I ate a lot of refried beans with Genepro during my puréed stage! i think the reasons plans differ so much is that everybody responds slightly differently to the surgery, so there’s no one single plan that works for every patient. I think most surgeons do their best to come up with a plan that will work for most patients, and this is probably based on their own patients’ experiences. There are definitely similarities among almost all plans, but I’m guessing each surgeon tweaks the plan a bit as they go. Maybe yours noticed that a lot of patients had problems with beans during the puréed stage. It would be easiest to use the strictest rules for everyone, but they also try to balance it with compliance, because they realize that a lot of patients won’t stick with a plan that is excessively restrictive. I’ve adhered pretty closely to my surgeon’s plan, except that I stayed on puréed foods for a few weeks longer than required because I was afraid to try soft foods at two weeks and didn’t want to take any chances. I’m also not eating as many calories as they say I should because I’ve found it’s practically impossible to get 800-1000 calories within the guidelines they gave (3 meals per day, no more than 4 ounces per meal, no snacks other than protein drinks between meals), and I’m not hungry, so I don’t really want to eat any more than 500-600. The only thing I’ve added that they said not to but I’ve seen others eat is low-carb tortillas. A lot of people here love the 1 net carb tortillas from Mr. Tortilla, so I bought some even though my plan says no tortillas for the first year (I’m pretty sure they mean regular tortillas, and they might be ok with the 1 net carb tortillas, but I haven’t asked).
  5. Man, you guys are so lucky for not having been soda drinkers! That was my largest addiction (coke zero and diet ginger ale). I've pretty much evened out now on many things for taste coming back and bits of head hunger but I think the killer right now for me is when I see a commercial or show with a nice big glass of cold soda-forget the food! lol. That's my craving these days. I really do live on genepro mixed with my water and a few drops of sugar free water flavor. I take protein but I found after my labs that my body wasn't taking all the protein I was eating and the surgeon said to try to add more of the genepro for now because our bodies will never take in what everything we take down now. The genepro gives me some filler with my water and it's the best I've found for all the protein needed. Never could take coffee with the gerd I still have but I wish I could for the shift I work!

    Genepro protein rocks!

All I can go off is my nutritionist, my surgeon, my GP and my hematologist. . All put genepro at the top of their list. I have to believe in what they say.
  7. Genepro is good. It is almost tasteless and 1tbsp is 30 grams of protein.

    Post op diet

I'm about two days out of surgery, just came home last night. Today I've been able to get down about 40 ounces mixed with 2 tablespoons of GENEPRO medical grade Protein which means I've gotten 60 grams of protein today! I've also been using a timer on my phone set for every 7 minutes or so. My problem hasn't been getting enough Water but drinking too fast. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Late night

I drink broth with GENEPRO in it and it seems to satisfy the late night food cravings. If it is a sweet craving I mix genepro in sugar free pudding. DS surgery 12/14/2016

    5 days post op

LOL I have a lady at my work that is about to have surgery and I have been giving her all my shakes that I bought and bout to give her my powder stuff too. I also got some organic whey protein (just came in yesterday) it wasn't too bad. It had a taste but I put it in chicken broth and it was tolerable. I am way excited about the Genepro I can put 2 tbsp. (if it tastes alright lol ) in a broth and have most my protein and I wont have to worry about it. At work I forget to eat so it would be great to get most of the protein all at once
  11. Good you started out with samples. I did not. When I was during my 6 months, I bought some different proteins. I got the large containers. I did try Body Fortress triple chocolate,I mixed it with dark chocolate silk milk,Hershey chocolate powder,Hershey syrup and ice and blend. It was really good even my grandchildren liked it. Only thing was I didn't measure because I was making a whole container. I need to scale it down and count calories. I did buy some sugar-free Hershey chocolate. I got that at Wal-mart. I bought the Fuzzy Navel added Crystal light(orange a whole container)and I may have used some diet jello. I don't remember if mixed with water or milk but it was horrible to me and my kids. So once again the samples are the best way to go.I bought some already mixed protein shakes that I read about on the forum. I'll have to try Muscle Milk,Premium, I got some Simple Start Breakfast it has 15g of protein, but it has 14g of sugar. I haven't found out what the sugar and carb count will be. I ordered Genepro from Amamzon its suppose to be tasteless, odorless, and blends well with hot temp.
  12. The only "studies" are ones they have done themselves. I have found no third party confirmation of their claims. If you want to use GENEPRO, I would advise counting it as 15 grams of Protein toward your daily total instead of the claimed 30 grams. Logically, it's not physically possible to fit 30 grams into 15 grams. Grams are a measure of mass. The claim is that their specific formula of protein is absorbed and utilized by the body at a much higher rate than "normal" protein supplements, thus you allegedly get the BENEFIT of twice as much protein in half the mass. But again, there are no independent studies to prove their claims at this point. So you would be totally taking it on faith and running the risk of only getting half as much protein as you think you are. That's why I recommend counting it as just the actual and real 15 grams of protein. If you are getting the "benefit" of more protein because of their special process, then great, but at least you can be sure you are still getting your minimums in by counting it as only 15 grams.

    Protein Question

Post op I didn't tolerate the shakes well, just too sweet. I'm 4 months post op and my main protein before back on normal food was 10 oz 1% milk + 1 scoop genepro flavorless protein powder (30+ grams of protein). Still my go to when I need protein.

    Genepro on amazon

    Question from a pre-op

Some things i bought and tolerated prior to surgery i couldnt stomach after. I have purchased multiple protein powders i couldnt stand as well as broth that i couldnt get down. I just purchased a tasteless protein powder that mixes well and you only need 1tbs to get in 30g. Genepro from amazon.

    Unjury Protein

I didn't care for the unflavored unjury. I use GENEPRO daily and LOVE it!! If you order in on Amazon it should come pretty quickly. I order it using my prime membership and get it in two days!! But whatever you use you have to like it or you wont use it. It is so hard to figure that out, believe me!! I use the Genepro every morning in my decaf hot tea, and I use the RTD premiere Protein in vanilla and chocolate. I also have vanilla and chocolate splendor from Unjury but really don't use that anymore, my husband and daughter love it and use it almost daily. LOL Good Luck!!
  20. I'll find out more tomorrow when Amazon's drone delivers it, but here is the most interesting thing I could find on the product on the web...It arrived last week, and it is flavorless. Mixes well with yogurt, half a scoop dissolves nicely in my coffee. Finally able to boost my protein levels to where they need to be. My hair is not falling out like it was. So I'm sticking with this stuff. I was poking around on the web about this and found this on one of the body building boards: LARGEbagFrontWEB.jpgHey there guys. I am the Doctor/Genetic Bio-Scientist that invented GENEPRO and am the owner of Musclegen Research. Serving size is 1 Tablespoon = 30g of Protein.. Here is a little about the product and the difference between Genepro and any other protein on the market. We are working with bodybuilding.com to carry Genepro as well as out other products.. What makes Genepro so unique is that we are able to reduce the protein molecule to half the size of normal protein through a process called Electrophoresis. This is a reverse electrical polarity method of extracting pure protein. In essence we take protein molecules that, for reference, are the size of a baseball. We push these baseball sized protein molecules through a Polyacrylamide gel (the gel stays below 87 degrees F) and introduce electricity through the gel. This process removes hydrogen ions, allergens and any fillers or binders so we are able to then bind the protein with a strand of six amino acids called a Hexapeptide which stabilizes the molecular structure. This hexapeptide increases shelf life of the protein as well as balancing the bitter taste that is present with the protein after electrophoresis and actually gives the protein a slightly sweet undertone. The protein is pushed through a filtration system and into a centrifuge which results in a pure protein molecule that is now the size of a golf ball (for reference). You may not be able to fit 30 baseballs into a shoe box but you can fit 30 golf balls. Thus giving us the ability to get 30grams of protein in a 1TBS serving size. This process also changes the caloritic count as well to 3.2 calories per gram of protein. The process as well at the hexapeptide are patent pending and have never been used before in nutrition (it's a genetic process that is used primarily in forensic science). The other interesting fact is that most protein supplements digest in the lower GI and whey is absorbed at only 31% so if you're "taking" 30g of whey, your body is only taking in 9g. Genepro is digested in the upper GI which eliminates gluten, lactose and bowel sensitivity and absorbs at a rate of 94% which makes it 3 times more effective than any other protein on the planet (medical or open market). Flavorless and odorless and can be mixed instantly in any food or beverage (hot or cold) without changing the taste or consistency. Truly the most complex and advanced protein on the planet. Each 1pound container comes with 3 empty, re-useable travel pouches that make it super convenient to use anytime, anywhere and in anything.

    My body feels awful...

@@Jennifer Rogers I got the Genepro protein last week from Amazon (because I have trouble getting in my protein too). It's okay. I definitely cannot put it in just anything. I didn't like it in any drinks (too much flavor when it's supposed to be flavorless) and I could taste it in cottage cheese. So far, the only thing I've had it in where I couldn't taste it was I cooked it in a scrambled egg (but only 1/2 a serving). If you find other ways to use it where you can't taste, please let me know.

Can we talk about food aversion

Add me to this sorority, made Tomkitten Baked Fish, parsleyied potatos, and a tossed salad. I had a bowl of my homemade cream soup with Genepro stirred in. Yeah in theory I could have had a little bit of the Fish, it was Cod, but I don't want to. Seems like every time I try to add a little something, even well-chewed, Precious Pouch leads her own rebellion. So why argue and end up wearing it?
  23. So is Genepro a proven protein? Guaranteed to be what they say?
  24. Christina.Rose

    ugh to the liquid diet!

Oh, also....I have read a lot of people that use GENEPRO unflavored Protein powder because its 30g protein in a tablespoon.....conflicting opinions on how much protein can fit into a tablespoon.....but that would be less shake drinking and still a lot of protein.
