Woohoo Cashley and Pugmum! :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: Only when we are ready to accept the truth will we be truly able to change it. Right on ladies. It's always refreshing to hear people who aren't afraid of speaking honestly about why they aren't progressing as they would like. If we all did this, we'd see a huge number of people shouting out happy reports and NSV's every day.

Newbie. Beverages, Alcohol, carbonated drinks, caffeine, coffee
pink dahlia replied to Rovobay's topic in Food and Nutrition
As my hubby said , I was a "cheap date" before surgery, as i cant hold liquor much. 2 was my limit, now im "one and done ." !! I have a cup of regulat tea in the am, decaf the rest of the day. Couldnt tell you about soda pop, I rarely had it before WLS , now its never . . Some people just lose their taste for certain things, but honestly you wont care when your clothes are getting too big ( again ?? ) , the compliments are coming in left and right along with all the NSV s !!! Good luck !! -
I live alone and I'm spending wayyyyyyyyy less money than I used to. Also, the food delivery app I used to use like 5x/week sends me emails telling me they miss me as a customer - NSV!

29Feb - losingjusme's plastics day
HarleyNana replied to losingjusme's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I had to do a "wash" of 1/2 Water 1/2 peroxide, then neosporin, just on the two stitches where the two tubes were. I didn't have to do anything to the dissolving stitches, but as soon as they started to heal I started using Mederma. Next time I see my ps I'm going to ask for a RX of some type of bleach. I had a great NSV yesterday, I tried on 12's and they were too big, I had to get 10's!!!!!!!!! -

40.2 lbs! NSV um is a little harder. I would say eating healthier therefore so is my family. Sounds funny but sprinting! Dr Fox told me today to start sprinting to burn more calaries and I just started doing it this week before he told me. So I'm going to try tweeking it a little bit with some advise he gave me. We had a good visit.

WOW Angel size 10!!!!!! An amazing NSV Congrats

I was sleeved on the 24th and my 2 week post-op appointment is this Wednesday. My surgery went fine but I was in a lot of pain, had no appetite, became dehydrated and developed a kidney infection (a rough 2 weeks I know). Now I still have a little bit of discomfort at my incision sites but other than that I’m doing a lot better. I’m so ready to be off liquids and actually have some food. My only problem is I dropped 13 pounds last week and the scale hasn’t moved since last week and I’m starting to worry. But everyone around me is telling me I look so much smaller than I did before so that is my NSV.

Why Don't I Feel Like I am Losing Weight?
TheRealSouthernBelle replied to Taylee_Rose's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Taylee_Rose: I know exactly how you feel. My problem is that since I have so much to lose it's like I see the numbers on the scale and that's it. Of course I am glad I am losing, but I am just so anxious to get this weight off of me. I keep telling myself that it didn't come on overnight, so I shouldn't expect it to come off overnight. I am trying not to become so fixated on those numbers and neither should you. Focus more on how you feel and how you look. Are you getting compliments? You probably are! Are you feeling better and doing things you couldn't do before this journey? Probably so! Look at your scale victories as well as your NSVs, you're doing great! Keep up the good work! -
And Another Guy Has Just Entered The Forum.
Cindysmom (Ilene) replied to yourshoesareuntied's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hey welcome. If your shoes are untied, one of the nsv will be that you are able to do it yourself. nsv means non scale victory. When I got the surgery my hubby was so supportive. He also lost 30 lbs.along with me..So will your wife...best of luck. -
Do You Think People Treat You Differently Since You've Lost Weight?
bulawookie replied to enjoythetime's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I hate how those out there in the world think that just because we are big girls that we are automatically stronger than other's in shape. I get this all the time. When I go to Costcoe and buy big items that are too heavy for me to lift I get the sarcastic attitudes that say, " You are a big girl so of course you can maneuver this 60 pound bad of dog food all by yourself. I have never understood why folks think we big woman are also very strong woman because of our size!! To hell with those people. It is hard moving around this store hauling really heavy items. The attitude we are treated with is, "She is a big girl so she can lift that 85 pound bag of dog food all by herself" Fat doesn't mean strong. We walk around all day with various amounts of weight on us. Walking is harder, Carrying heavy items is harder. So to hell with others preconceived ideas that we big girls are also strong as an ox. I find the opposite true. Sure I am staring to exercise by walking but I need to do weight lifting at the gym. We overweight people have more difficulty moving around and carrying heavy items. But the population doesn't see it that way!!! Fat people are often treated as invisible. Like we don't exist. But all that will change as our program goes along and the weight starts coming off. People are going to treat us differently once we are thin. That will be a real good NSV. Being noticed and having doors opened for you will be more NSV's. This is a life changing endeavor. I am going to make it. How about you others out there? What do you think? -
What Are You Eating Tomorrow?
Donny replied to sleeve_sister's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 4.5 weeks out and I am skipping the turkey! I bought myself a nice piece of Red Snapper and I will be grilling that! I also plan on a little bit of cauliflower mashed potatoes. I'm sure it will be disappointing seeing my family go to town on all the yummy food, but I have all my NSV's to fill that void! -
HOP INTO SPRING CHALLENGE!!
Daja replied to Dashofpixiedust8's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Current weight 229.6. Don't think I will reach my weight goal, but went to my endocrinologist today and she is thrilled. My PCOS is in remission, H-A1C is the lowest it's been in years, cholesterol is normal. So a NSV for me. [emoji4] -

August Bandsters How are you Doing So Far
pizzicato66 replied to MissNilsa's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Wow - great reports everyone! Karri/Salsa - size 10's???? I"m in awe!!!! Glad to hear your band is behaving better now too. Real food is a definite improvement over shakes! Frangi - glad to hear things are going down for you again! Val - good for you for getting the food logging on track. I need to do the same! Becky, you're a wise woman, and your tracker shows it! Keep up the great work! I can't say that my eating was all that under control this weekend, but I can say the portions are much smaller than they would have been before surgery. I did have a few NSV's this week: - A friend stopped by with 2 bags of clothes as hand-me-downs. It felt really good knowing that I'm in the same size range as her, even if the items don't fit just right (too big in the waist, too tight in the legs/butt - she likes the "slimfit" stuff, which I wouldn't necessarily choose as a flattering option). This is going to sound a little immature, but it felt good to know I've caught up with her and will be passing her up in a bit - she's the one that's always drawn the looks and it would be fun to actually be the smaller one for the first time. Then again, I see myself naked every day. Nothing like a reality check to keep things on track. Ha! -
im very happy for you! those nsv's r more important than anything!

Congratulations! You are doing great, and thanks for posting your NSV's. We can all use the positive news!
