    What Is Your Latest NSV?

My latest NSV was when I had to take in the band on my shoes (two holes smaller round my toe area and three holes smaller on the instep). These are shoes I wear every day for work and it was only when my hubby said I was wearing them like lose flip flops, that I tightened them. I was VERY shocked. How can you lose so much on your feet in the space of a few short weeks??!!
  2. In the past, when I went to amusement parks, I typically didn't go on rides out of embarrassment that I felt people were looking at how I barely squeezed into a seat for a ride or even worse, being told I can't ride a particular ride because of my weight or the restraint system won't properly close (that happened twice, I was more embarrassed for my children to have people looking a their Dad like that). Well, not yesterday. I went to the amusement park with my children and went on many rides including ones in the past I would never have been able to fit properly into the seats or weighed too much to ride. For the first time in many years, I did not feel like people were staring at me because of my weight. Although to be honest, I was nervous on some of the rides before I went on them that the restraint system may not close all the way and I will need to get off the ride. This is only one of many NSVs I have experienced since losing weight. I look forward to the new ones every week. Please share yours.

Wonderful nsv here. I love to hear about them.I agree with roux2011, it is definitely a mental trip. I am still a for addict. One of my nsv is getting into a size 14\16 pajama shorts. That's crazy. Sometimes I see body and can't believe it. I still have a few pounds to lose but I am happy with my progress thus far.

    NSV Lap Swimming

I am a lap swimmer again. Years ago, when I was in much better shape, I was a regular lap swimmer. At my peak I swam a mile a day. For the last few years I have mostly been doing deep Water aerobics for exercise. Last week, I added some back stroke into my routine. Yesterday, I was doing a few laps of backstroke and thinking how great it would be once I was able to become a lap swimmer again. After about 15 minutes, I realized I WAS a lap swimmer again! Because, I was swimming laps without a struggle and actually enjoying it. I am on my way!
  5. Congratulations on your NSV Kindle... It must have been an amazing feeling!

  7. As I’ve gotten further and further out and maintained at goal weight I really don’t feel like I have a lot of NSV’s anymore, so when something dawns on me as having been one, I’m like…hey, YAY. I’ve always liked clothing but when I was larger I avoided buying any because I knew no matter what I wore it wouldn’t matter. Now though I tend to love shopping entirely too much and every time I go into a store I am as equally delighted that I easily fit into the 0,2,4, xs, and small range as I was the first time I zipped up a 0. I took almost 6 months to fully heal from my last plastics surgery where I ended up with a giant hole in my back that only recently has fully healed, so I haven’t worked out as much and I tend to feel like I look a little flabby in the mirror. The scale says I weigh the same, my clothes all still fit, but I feel like I see cellulite on my butt and thighs appearing more and more everyday. Yesterday a store I really like got all of their new fall suiting in and they had a giant sale. I went to the store and I had a jolly good time trying on all of the new clothing. I was super excited that their tight business dresses fit me in a size 2, since my fake ta-tas make tight dresses a bit of a complication since the top is usually too tight on smaller sizes and larger sizes that fit the top end up being way too big on the bottom. By the end of the trip I had purchased several new suits and dresses and had my list of stuff I wanted to buy online since the store doesn’t carry all the petite styles. I felt grand. I then walked out of the store and Auntie Anne’s was right in front of me. Oh you beautiful cinnamon and sugar pretzels. I decided to be virtuous and instead run to the food court and find what appeared to be moderately healthy fried rice, vegetables, and some kind of bourbon meat. I really just wanted a small plate, but you apparently had to order this massive dish of food, which I did. I then took my bag of food and walked back to Auntie Anne’s where I got a big cup of sugar, cinnamon pretzel nuggets. Ohhh they were good. I ate 2-3 of the nuggets out of a cup of maybe 15, and then I threw the rest out. I also tossed out the giant plate of food because who was I kidding…dirty rice, fried veggies, and bourbon pork…no way was that actually good for me. My sleeve also tends to rebel against anything that has been anywhere near oil or a fryer so I figured I was in for a night of puking either way. I then went home, heated up a cup of some turkey chili I made the other day, and ordered all of the things online that the store didn’t have in stock. Two years ago I would have eaten all of that food and I would have cried because not a single thing in that store would have fit me. I think the entire time I was in there I saw maybe one size 14 and it would not have fit over my butt in the months before I ended up having surgery. Now, while I did enjoy a few bites of sugary pretzel, because of my sleeve not only do I fit into the smallest sizes in a designer store that I used to hate because they carry nothing for fat people, but I didn’t have the slightest problem throwing out about $14 in food that probably tasted really good. Fitting smaller sizes is always a nice NSV, but being able to throw away food without feeling much guilt at all, that’s a big win for me. There may be starving children in Africa as my parents always told me when I was forced to clean my plate, but right now there is one less obese girl in America because I’m finally learning how not only to not clean my plate but how not to feel guilty for having not done so.

Sometimes its the unexpected things that get you

I have to say, flying in an airplane without having to ask for the dreaded belt extender was one of my very first NSVs and it made my whole week! I was very comfortable and super excited about it. You are going to love the feeling. It really is not a small thing at all!

    NSV & a chuckle

So the other night I was pulled over by a very nice (and good looking) police officer. Apparently I had a tail light out. He did his duty & asked for my license and registration. He looked at my license, then at me, then at my license, then at me. I told him I had lost some weight since my photo was last taken 4 years ago. His response "A little!" Haha! I loved it!! Needless to say, he recommended that I get a new photo taken & because it came from an officer I didn't have to pay for it. Nice NSV when I dont even look like myself anymore!
  13. Who'd thunk it? A negative NSV! I was shopping for a new shirt and found a purple one I wanted bad! It was the only purple shirt they had. AND I WAS TOO THIN TO WEAR IT!!!!!! (Happy Dance.....kinda)

Sometimes its the unexpected things that get you

Those NSVs are so freakin' awesome, aren't they? I've experienced so many of them but they are still thrilling none the less. There is nothing better than to fit like any normal person, into a plane seat, or a restaurant booth, or anywhere for that matter.

    Any August 31st Sleevers?

Hi! I was sleeved on 8/31, too. I'm feeling good, not much pain but I am just SO exhausted. I'm getting about 50 grams of Protein a day plus all of my fluids. I have no issues drinking - can swallow almost as well as pre surgery. I came home on puréeds but mostly just eat soup and Greek yogurt. I feel hungry 5-6 times a day and eat accordingly but haven't taken more than 2-3 tiny bits of anything. Still defending on Protein drinks for energy. I'm down 15.3 lbs since surgery morning. I tried my long-too-small wedding rings on today and they slid right on!! My first NSV

    ???????????? Fustration????????????

My doc said that when working out , it's during those plateau periods that your body is trading fat for muscle. You're building muscle which weighs more and losing the fat so it can seem as if your weight is not moving, but you'll be losing inches elsewhere. Try that (tracking your inches) and see what you get. Also, the demon scale doesn't control everything. Look at how your clothes fit, your energy levels, all the little NSVs that your body has for you.

    first NSV

This was my first NSV! It is a great feeling to once again have a choice of seating when going out. There are plenty more NSV's to come!
  21. We went to a restaurant last night, and i was able to fit in the booth comfortably, where as before I barely fit. I did not ask for a table this time, just to see if it would be OK, and it was, yay. I have been so depressed because weight loss is so slow, but i felt a little better. Even my husband commented on how before i would always ask for a table, and now the booth was just fine

    The Grocery Store

Congratulations on doing so well. I would call that an NSV! I often wonder if I would have done as well with my weight loss if I didn't live alone and had to live with tempting foods laying around? I don't have to exert much will power as it is, I don't buy stuff I know I will be tempted to eat, so it's never in the house.

This NSV caught me by surprise

@@borg/assimilated love the username! That's a great NSV, I was sitting in the chair the other day and pulled my leg up to my lap like I used to do years ago. I didn't even notice for minutes until it hit me. I hadn't been able to do that for the longest time.
