What ya eating tonight?
jerz replied to OleHippieGal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Dumped for the first time on the chicken salad. I ate some when I first made it 4 days ago (canned chicken, chopped egg, mayo, salt&pepper) but tonight I put it on a 1/4 piece of 5 grain wheat toast and immediately after the 1st bite, I got extreme stomach pain, like everything inside of me was pissed and growling and cramping. So straight to the bathroom I go :-( now I know what dumping means cuz everything that was in me was dumped out of me violently (tmi I know) -
Welcome Stepht7s, dmtjet, tinkerbell77, ribearty, and every other new Lucky 7. Insubordination, thanks for dropping in and wishing us well. Next year we'll be in your shoes, YEAH. forgve70x7, thanks for the prayes. I'm the next bander:46 hours and counting down. Dini, you already have a fill??? I won't get a fill for 4 weeks after surgery. Can you get anything down. I figured with the swelling and all they wouldn't fill anyone for a while. That's amazing. BTW, I'm off for the next 4 weeks, so I'll be on the computer earlier each day, so we can chat it up girlfriend. Nelli, "fall off the roof" I have never heard of that. So I finally broke out the Magic Bullet this morning, the blender. It is awesome.:clap2: I blended 4 ozs of slimfast optima with a scoop of vanilla powder and froze them. I made up 8 of them. Very quick, easy, and great clean up. In all they had 26 grams of protein, 170 calories, and under 2 grams of sugar. I love to eat slimfast frozen.:hungry: For one, it tastes great on a hot day, and when it's frozen it takes longer to eat, and you actually feel like your eating something instead of drinking something. Seems more satisfying. So thumbs up for the magic bullet. Cant wait to do something else with it, like soups, and smoothies. I've been cleaning the house all morning so when I get home from the hospital it will be all done, and I can just lay back and not worry about anything. My DH is doing all the laundry for me and cleaning out my car, and hopefully going to give it an oil change. I'm making 1 more trip to the store later just to get some things so I won't have to go for a while. Going to start packing for the hospital later on, and I'm going out for my last dinner tonight with DH and friends. I'm always so organized but I feel like I'm missing something on my list of things to do before going. Oh yes, one last fat intimate encounter with my DH.:embarassed: It will never be the same, WHOOHOOO!!! Sorry, that may have been TMI, but I'm sure everyone will have their own last fat encounter too. :scared:more days and I'll be in Bandland with Dini and Breadlady.

Linda In theory, I agree. I even understand. But, I drink water, exersize get fiber and I still only have BM every seven or more days. (and that is with a laxative) I don't like taking them but man, the hemoroids are killing me. Dang, trying to push that turd out is harder than pushing out any one of my babies heads, (TMI)

Kari You are too funny dating by the time you get back  The only thing that's going to happen by the time you get back is you will be a brand new woman after getting a little sunshine and vit D... Phyl - I LOVE THE OCEAN.... Tmi - funny DH didn't want the neighbors to see you foaming at the mouth:lol: Jackie GF - It's ok to have cake - (just not every day:tongue2:) You haven't been feeling well and I can see if I were sick - I might not make the best food choices either - but heck what do you think regular people do - they gain 2 lbs too every now and then - the difference is then they stop the gain - and that's what you are doing too - (see you are normal too) Plus I think it's very easy for us to test our weight loss - Oh I have been doing so good in my eating that this little candy won't hurt - or the grazing we do - oh I only had 3 chips - but you only counted the 1st 3 - not all that followed the rest of the day.. Soul searching is good - getting a hold of yourself is good - belittling yourself isn't - all that does is cause more guilt/shame which in turrn will cause you just to say "F" it - i have screwed up - so might as well keep on eating - That's what we have been doing our entire lives - This is what we have to put an end to... NOT MORE GUILT/SHAME TRIPS - Say OK I "F'd" up - That wasn't too smart and I AM A SMART STRONG WOMAN - I CONTROL FOOD IT DOES NOT CONTROL ME.. FOR TODAY - I WILL DO MY VERY BEST - AND IF I FAULTER - I WILL GET UP BRUSH MYSELF OFF AND START OVER.. I WILL DO THIS OVER AND OVER AGAIN - UNTIL I SUCCEED.

I need an extra day in May to get all my exercise in!!! I guess we can't create that huh? I need to think about my June exercise! Changing the subject to fills, I had a fill Thursday of 3cc's. Everything seemed fine and was so very happy with the restriction, now the past few days I have sort of thrown up, it was probably a pb. Nothing hurt and no sound (tmi), but I did feel a ball in my chest for a while. It seemed to happen a few days after I had my fill, do you think it is probably just a little swelling or do I need to get some taken out? I have an appointment on thursday June 7th, so I do have a little while. Let me know you opinions because everyone always have great suggestions. Jane -

@Luna222--Hey there! Missed you! I'm doing good. (If you read back a little ways, I just got engaged! Whoohoo!!) So you're still stuck?? Are you measuring too? Wondering if you're toning and losing inches? TMI Alert!!---I've been stuck at about 158-159 since I got home from vacation. But it's also been at least a week since I've really "gone to the bathroom." And I take a mild natural pill to help keep things moving and still nothing...UNTIL this morning. Whew!!! Pretty sure that scale will have moved when I weigh again tomorrow morning. Wowzers! (sorry... )

May 24 Surgery Day

Oh yes tea! My doctor told me it was okay to take peppermint tea. The smooth move one that helps digestion. I need to send someone to go and buy it for me.. i cannot tolerate the car right now. Lucky for me, i only live 10 minutes away from the hospital. I admire anyone riding more than 10 minutes. Sorry TMI... I think the hospital meds were keeping me from passing gas. I managed to pass 3 small ones, but it made SUCH a difference. I'm glad I forced myself up for a walk at 5 am. I've been walking around for 30 minutes trying to get more out. And I've taken in 2 ounces of Protein i plan on taking in all my protein before anything else. My doc said I can have fat free lactate milk so if I finish this cup, that will be 64 grams of protein. Yey. -
Hey All, How is everyone? Just checking in. I've had a good and rough couple of days. I had to go to have a Cat Scan (related to my hysterectomy), and I had to drink a big container of dye so they could see. I got home and I have had horrible diahrria (like water)....sorry if it's TMI. This was Friday, and it's still going on. So, I'm trying to figure out if its's from that, or sugar free stuff (in the past it gave me Gastro problems, gas etc, or is it because I'm just drinking fluids. Anyways, have any of you had this issue? I'm still on Clear liquids hopefully until Thursday (I have a Post Op exam). I am hungry, and really tired of liquids. I miss food A LOT. I drove by some of my favorite spots, and I had to pray...because I wished I could eat that stuff again. I haven't been advanced to Protein yet (probably will be on Thursday). What Protein shakes do you all like? The good news is I'm down 15.8 lbs! I am thrilled about that. My bra is loser, and I tried on 3 outfits in my closet and I could fit them! I even was able to wear a couple of 1X or X-Large items. That part is great! My husband is noticing every day, and he started calling me Skinny today. We are both happy that the weight is coming off. Also, do you all take a PPI. I take Zantac twice a day, and I still get this gnawing feeling at night. Some have suggested I change it if I'm feeling hungry, because it might be acid.

I'm sorry for the TMI, but I'm so uncomfortable from not being able to move my bowels I have hardly been able to in about 3 days. I've been taking the colace, and still no. Today I was ok, had eggs for breakfast, my bf and I went out and about and I took a protein shake with me. I drank 4oz of it and about 15 min after my last sip I was in so much pain, right in the middle of my belly. I felt like I had to go and I felt like I had to puke. We stopped at a bathroom and I couldn't do either. Pain wasn't going away so I called the nurse line. She told me to do an enema (ew!)...soo I stopped and got one, we went home, I did it, it worked a LITTLE bit, and then I took a 3 hr nap. I woke up and the pain was gone for the most part...but I still feel blah. I'm not hungry, I'm afraid to eat. I just want water and Popsicles. Idk if it's happening from eating more foods now on puree? I was going just fine last week On a happier note, I've just realized that I have lost 40 lbs since June, and 20 since surgery 2 weeks ago. I def feel better other than the belly cramps. My arthritis isn't as bad it seems, I am able to walk up the stairs and not cry. My boyfriend looked at me today and said "wow babe, you're looking really good", which made me feel good of course. As for sex...I miss it lol. We were so excited cuz I got the ok from doc last week, and then I got my period. Next week I guess lol.

Sex... what is sex??? Two nights ago I was told by dbf that the thought of my port grossed him out... I said... GREAT! NOW MY PORT GROSSES YOU OUT.. we are NEVER going to have sex again are we??? To which he replied........ JESUS TRACY NOT THIS AGAIN! Don't START.. and stomped to the living room...... (and note this all started to go down hill when I was still wearing a size 10/12, and NO he has no problem perking up, and I lost count of how many months its been... Lost count in January) He has no libido........ and I'm guessing it is a long standing issue because his ex wife cheated on him which is why they divorced........ OK.. sorry for the TMI about my lack of sex life...... but you guys hit a geyser with the topic. (pun intended) -
SNT, I think you'll find that by agreeing with me, your life will be that much smoother, rewarding, enriching, etc. At least that's what I keep trying to tell me wife and kids. So far, not much luck.... Leslie, maybe I do watch adult swim....and maybe I am naked, weeping and eating Cheetos while I watch it....oops, TMI? Diva, just keep thinking deep thoughts, mmmmm'kay?

Morning All, Ok yesterday was a write off. I didn't even attempt the 20 min run. Sorry... TMI coming... My TOM kicked into high gear and there was no way I was going to run. Now that the kids and DH are gone for the day, I'm going to give it a try this morning. At least I'll have some privacy! Lyn... there is no way in the world I would have given up the scales just a few weeks post-op! So don't be confessing yet! Go ahead... weigh away! But when you're a year in like I am, then we can talk. lol
-
TMI, maybe, but Is anyone having any trouble with diarrhea? I took miralax on day 3 and I went to the bathroom probably 5 or 6 times yesterday (day 4) and at day 5 I’ve already went several times. Definitely feeling a bit light headed as I met my protein goal yesterday but only 40 ounces of water…
-
That is a good theory! I haven't had a BM and I do get constipated before my period for some weird reason. Sorry if that was TMI!!! Is Miralax prescription? Maybe I'll try something over the counter. PS-I got Flonase today too due to my post-nasal drip which makes me tight too.

:help: I have been getting things stuck for about a week or more and it is AWFUL as you guys know. Anyway now I'm wondering if I need a fill or what because I really don't get full I just am afraid to eat. If I feel the slightest thing like a golfball I spit it out and don't eat no more. This is getting to be a pain in the butt because I don't know whether I need a fill or unfill. Last night I ate some cereral that was going down really well so I just kept eating I bet I ate way over 2 cups of cereral. I could of probably ate more but got tired of it. I moved on to some cottage cheese. I don't know why everything is getting stuck, but I thought if it got stuck you had restriction. Is that true or am I just so new to this surgery on June 7th that I don't know how to read being scared is really being full. I have a 11 cc VG band and it is filled 4.75 right now. Which in the beginning was great because seems I felt full at about a half a cup of food. I have got things stuck so bad the last few times that it has now scared me to death. I have never vomited, just spit up slim and sweat so bad. One time it was foam along with slim, sorry if that is TMI.

Oh my gosh, so sorry to hear about Debbie losing her job. That is aweful and hard to get another job in your 50's!! GIve her a big hug from me:redface: Congrats on your two-miler... good for you!!! It felt good didn't it. I have been reading about your EARL saga.. too funny... Yours give you grief when you are gone too long and mine says "oh go on holiday with your girlfriends"... we just have NO WAY of winning do we? :smile2: O. k. CUBA travelog: The resort was killer... a 4 1/2 star resort that didn't disapoint. Champaigne for breakfast everyday, I ate LOBSTER twice, had calamari 4x, Scampi 4 x... food was very good. ALthough, I got sick of omelets for breaky and tried to have cereal one day with milk.. YUK, the cereal is not crispy(humididy) and the milk is WHOLE milk, unpasturized.... tasted like pouring CREAM on my cereal... couldn't eat it like that, too many years of SKIM milk... ha,ha,ha... But the COFFEE con Leche was to die for. Cuba has better coffee than anyone, we brought home Kilo's of it... I wrenched my back lifting luggage the first day, so had a sore back for the week. Luckily I had extra strength Tyl in my stuff so took that several times per day. but I found this WONDERFUL muscle relaxant in CUBA.... its called R U M.... lol So Pina Colada's were my fav. RUM for my back and coconut milk for my _____ constipation (TMI sorry) Then had evenings of trying every liquour on the shelf.. they had all international brands of liquour so it was pretty fine! on a Sad note, the whole resort was full of Quebecer's.... all speaking Fronglesse!!!! Did finally run into 3 other English speaking Canadian couples so we hung around with them. We did have Satalite TV in our rooms, so we got CNN and CTV and all the Olympic games, and YES we watched the Canada / US HOCKEY GOLD GAME...whoop-whoop We watched it enmass in the BEER GARDEN tavern , 75 drunken Canucks crammed into this little bar watching the most important game of our decade on a 19" screen ..... ARGH :smile2: It was too crowded for the bartenders to serve drinks, so they just passed TRAYS of beer bottles back to the crowd, then Pina Colada's Tray, then this drink called a MIAMI VICE... oh it was good. There was one CDN guy Rooting for the U.S. team...he had the prime seat at the bar,a foot from the TV screen... so his penance for cheering for the 'other' side was to pass the TRAYS of drinks back to the rest of us... it was really fun and all in good spirits... I am sure you could hear us all screaming all the way back to MIAMI!~!!!! CONGRATS to the U.S.A. for taking the most medals!!! Your champions did an outstanding job. (I did think your figure skater got robbed though, she was awesome and deserved more...) BUt alas, the weather in Cuba was very dissappointing.. cold, cold and more cold... broken up by cloud cover!! I had my bathing suit on 1 day, and got in the water at the pool only once, to wade across to the pool swim up bar.. Just so that I could say "I got wet".... I read two novels cover to cover and got really relaxed. That part was nice and we had WILD SEX.... o.k. so it wasn't Wild, it was old lady, middle aged sex... but we got thru it without our pacemakers cracking up. Missed the doggies so terribly, and missed all you gals too... there was an internet cafe there but it was mucho pesos, so I didn't use it in protest. Brought home lots of Cuban Rum, and over 1/2 my spending$$ money cause there is nothing to shop for there... no stores.. You can buy RUM, CIGARS, and Coffee... Great flights both ways, hot meal and wine included in your flight. and on the way down they served Champagne to start our vacation off on the right foot... Glad to be home and sleeping in our own beds, ya I let the puppies sleep with us too! Went to visit my Mom yst. she's in the hospital with a broken wrist.. Poor dear Lots of reading to catch up on here!!! Love to you all Ladies:tongue: -

Karla - how about he skips ;0) - Sure glad he's doing better.. Don't really no what was wrong yesterday just quesy and the tmi - ok today ;0) but would love to retire.. I know I would find something to do ;0).. Have fun at your party tonite ;0)... I don't have this yr.. I guess I am just not doing too much Christmas this year at all... Pple here at work were bugging me why I wasn't decorating - told them just too much work just for me and the dogs ;0)... Don't know I'm just pooped ;0) Just day to day stuff is enough to keep up with - then you add Christmas. Well maybe next yr I'll have more time (won't schedule family vacation) and will be more in the mood for it.. Phyl - you are the Grandparents - Age alone is the reason that they should be driving to see you and bring the kids to you - I think that's the priviledge of our age and grandparent status... Maybe they are just bah humbug. Yep 60 miles 120 miles round trip is too much - Don't her and Tracy get along or what... I would think they would want to be w/the whole family on Christmas.. But again this is coming from a girl who has only 1 sibling left - if my Sis was just 60 miles I would go there for Christmas for sure ... Yep back on tract - so much so I have boot camp tonite. Candice - I know I heard just a tad when napping yesterday about the cruise ship - yep lightening doesn't strike twice - if seas were that bad - don't think there was much the capitan could do ... Storms... 30 ft swells - I know that I would be sea sick for sure with those kind of swells .. Hugs on your snow - Ya sometime Walmart is the most exciting thing to do - for me it's target & marshalls since they are across the street.. Well at least if I lived there I would be getting snow days - but losing power - well that would be a bitch - can't watch t.v. or get on the computer - and I'm read a book on my eread that needs charging every 6 hrs ;0).. Well just a quick ck in- bored at work - not motivated today... Maybe tomorrow .. -

First of all, JANET WE ARE GLAD you are back!!! Karla, a bear? in WASAGA BEACH? no, but that was funny.... we don`t have any bears around these here parts! We have LOTS of deer, skunks, squirrels.... but no bear or moose... Moose live WAY up north from me... about 3-4 hour drive up north. We woke up today to a FOOT of snow! It was falling all day yesterday, and today, well I am sure LOTS of people stayed home from work. THe snowfall itself is not the problem, as we have awesome truck crews to clear the roads FAST,,,, but its when is comes along WITH wind!!! You desert rats know about the wind eh? well its been blowing 30 mile/hour winds with the snow sqawls so that is the danger... you get WHITE OUTS from the wind... Phyl, you musta heard froom your sisters in Buffalo... it got dumped on too.. worse than us I hear. So I feel like singing Christmas songs now!!! LOL what else is there to do??? Pewter is out shoveling/snow bloowing and Bridget is helping him... I know this cause I can hear her barking her face off outside... she hates the shovel, tries to attach it... SILLY girl, if daddy didn`t shovel paths for her in the backyard she`d be way up past her hiney to pee and poop ( TMI) so she has these trenches to run in... plus she HOPS in the snow to get from place to place.. it is so damn cute!!! wish I had a video Phyl, so to make sure I get this... You wanted to buy a PARK model trailer down there? but EARL thought too much money?B would you then have sold your Aclass??? and just driven back and forth from Seattle to Palm Dessert? Stayed in my jammies all day yesyt. still in ythem now!! its NOON I should be SO assamed. LOL Karla, its o.k. not TMI after youve had surgery... I am glad you pooped too!!!!! Hope it didn`t hurt to much... yikes... now I`m TMI:o Janet; can`t wait to see the picutres... there`ll be great. So glad you had a fabulous vacation.. It must have felt so good toknow that you gave them all those NICE memories forever... You are a special La-La -

Well, I'm so used to not having sweet stuff like that, I don't want to tempt myself! I just don't trust myself. But.... to be honest, I sort of remember someone was giving out teeny samples. That's when I was having "issues" with what I had for lunch. So I took it and put it aside... on top of my purse, in my basket! I did eventually eat it, but I think it came back up with that latte I was drinking!! LOL!! Sorry.... TMI!! Pre-op visit went great. First they took my weight... lower than the Wii or TOPS weight on Monday but I'm not logging any new weight unless I'm still down on Monday. Then they took more x-rays and measurements. Then the doc's PA came in... as I told Candice, not quite old enough to shave, but very nice. I had a long list of questions that I wrote down during that class last week. I liked all his answers... like, spinal and femoral block with some light IV sedation... asleep but not deep anesthesia and the block will help control the pain for 24-72 hours. Won't bore you with the rest of what we discussed, but I was pleased with all his answers regarding various different things they'll be using, etc. I will probably go home Thurs or Fri, they said. Apparently I could go to rehab if I wanted to, but they don't ususally do that if you have someone at home to take care of you. And my friend that had hip replacement at the same place a month ago said do NOT go to rehab. She says she had horrible care there. Doc kind of talked us in to buying this ice pack thing. Comes with a big sort of thermos jug with tubes.. you fill it about half way with Water, then ice and put the top on. Tubing attaches to wrap around thing for your knee. Then it pumps the ice water through the thing continuously. Sounded like a good idea at the time... $125 but Medicare won't pay, so we bought it. Then when we got home I started having "buyer's remorse", thinking... I'm ALWAYS cold! Why would I want that thing pumping ice cold water up and down my leg???? So I hope it isn't a waste of money! Sheba is a really pretty tabby. But who knows who the little slut paired up with??? LOL! Oh, Janet says a white siamese. Hmmm... might be pretty little kitties! So sorry about all your stress!! Job stuff sucks!! That's horrible! Glad the car thing worked out well. Gotta ask two questions: was the guy wearing a wedding ring and did you get his phone number!??? LOL Miss you when you're not here! Yes, I am brainstorming things we can do next year, too. Did we decide the NO thing, cruise, etc is out for sure? Earl & I are probably going to do a Mexican Riviera cruise out of L.A. in about March if anyone is interested. And about what you told me in Canada??? I'm old... I forgot!! LOL -

Hi everyone! I'm home. Had my surgery this morning with Dr. Trace Curry. I had a hernia that they had to repair, so I got a little more stomach gas they said. I have to say, that is the worst part of the whole thing so far. My port incision is a bit sore but not unbearable. I hate to be TMI, but I have never prayed so hard to fart in my entire life! :tt1: I have a heating pad and a thermacare on my shoulder trying to break it up and keep getting up and walking around. The walking isn't bad, either. Just that darn gas! -
Anyone used/using BannerGateway-Gilbert, AZ?
della street replied to MoMo12onTheGo's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@MoMo12onTheGo You're more than welcome -- this is such a journey, it's so nice to "speak" with others on the same journey -- I agree, I've had a hard time finding AZ folks as well, which I find very odd since there are at least three major bariatric programs here in the Valley - Banner, Scottsdale Healthcare, and Bridges at St. Luke's Hospital. I don't know if Banner does, but Scottsdale H/care has a patient-only forum, but even that doesn't have a lot of volume of posts considering the thousands of folks that have gone thru that program over the last 9-10 years or so -- I think after a while, you just start living your life and don't have as many questions, etc, I guess -- At 8 weeks out (have 8-week appt this Wed as a matter of fact), doing pretty well, except constipation is a huge issue -- in fact, I'd say that's the biggest issue I've had throughout the entire process - other than insurance foibles pre-op, but that's a whole 'nother story -- and sorry if the constipation comment is TMI, but you'll find it mentioned throughout these posts -- The first couple of weeks after sugery, was really/really tired, but energy mostly back since about week three or so - still working on all the eating changes, that's for sure... but have lost 39 lbs since surgery in 46 days since surgery, and 15 lbs pre-op, so that makes me very happy ) Do you have a surgery date yet? -
Anyone having surgery in Oct ?
doggiedaddy replied to Jenaenae84's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Same here... I've been doing great and then quickly became bloated and uncomfortable... could not even pass gas. I took some miralax, but needed something immediate... Resorted to glycerin suppositories (I know, yuck and tmi, so sorry!) and it helped almost immediately... I was miserable last night but much better today!
