  1. My period last month after surgery seemed normal. But this month, second month out I have been spotting for a week now and it has yet to kick in and its getting really really annoying..... I am guessing its due to weight loss and my body adjusting to things but was wondering if anyone else had similar issues? Thanks and sorry for the TMI was not sure where else to ask....

Just Prancing Around In My Size 2 Skinny Jeans!

OMG, a size 2! That's awesome.....I wear a size 8 jean but can fit into a size 6 but my lady parts feel comfy........Sorry for TMI... But I love my jeans......... I will have to look into those jeans too...
  3. I've had my band for going on 18 months and I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions of my life but lately... I am a burping machine and in silence my stomach is like a full orchestra with noises that are kind of unnerving, never painful or even uncomfortable at all just.., noisy. Also I cannot stop burping! Cannot! Little ones, big ones just constant and sometimes they make me feel better but sometimes they are just epic and untimely if you catch my drift. I have been considering a slight unfill but as I have done so well (started at 290 now 185 for several months) to say I'm not a little chicken would be a lie. I now have a life where I did not. I work better I feel tremendously better and have waaaaaay more energy. Just kinda spooked. I have had short periods over this journey that I feel extra tight but they have always passed. This has been going on for a bit now and has now progressed to PBing which I NEVER had. Strange thing is that I had my last fill probably 6months ago (7cc in a 14cc band) and have maintained my weight loss to the pound for about the last 5months. Doing great otherwise but after having a healthy smoothie I burped a good deal of it up. Sorry for the tmi but grrrrr! Somebody throw me a bone. Probably will end up getting 1/2 cc unfill but the timing is just very odd

I'm going to be a Nov. Sleever

Good Luck! I was sleeved in Boston on 11/6. The pain wasn't nearly as bad as I thought and I haven't been sick once. I'm one week post op and looking forward to the mushy/soft food stage in one week. My energy is pretty good but not 100%. FYI, TMI...start drinking fiber and stool softeners as soon as your out of the hospital. You'll appreciate it when nature eventually calls.

    No Weight Loss Day

It happens to me more so lately. Mine depends on how much I'm drinking and (tmi) whether I'm pooping.

    June Post Ops!

This may be TMI but anyone still having problems with diarrhea? No matter what I eat or drink I'm going a few times a day. And by going I mean GOING. Ugh.

    Hard to eat foods

I'm only rounding out 8 months PO but I can eat anything except rice. It's the only thing I actively avoid. It gave me constipation pre-op and post-op my dealings with it have been few but each time I have either had discomfort or pain so I avoid it. I have only had a few "bad" interactions with food and have never thrown up or slimed since the 6 week relearning food phase. My bad interactions were at 2 weeks PO, I threw up on tuna fish. It was too soon for me. At about 8 weeks, I forgot and drank Water too fast. I was sore for two days and thought I had blown something up (I didn't). I have had a couple times where I ate too much or too fast and felt queasy or overfull. But these are minor and I haven't had any actual food reactions. As long as I eat slow enough and listen to my body, everything goes down fine and stays down fine. ETA: I forgot my nemesis, Fresh and Easy turkey chili. Yeah, I ate it twice in one day (1 cup total) and OMG...I got such bad painful gas, I thought something exploded or got blocked and I was going to die. I sat up all night debating going to the ER, finally went to sleep, and woke up the next morning feeling better albeit in a room that smelled like something you would never want to smell. woowhee. TMI, but y'asked My main problem PO is not so much with food but getting super gas and gas pains. For some reason, I get a more farty PO. I hope it goes away eventually.
  8. I had my gallbladder out 5 years ago and was sleeved about 3 weeks ago. I have 5 new incision sites, so no. As far as the bowel stuff goes, I had (TMI warning) really loose stools almost every day. Sometimes the urgency, but it didn't seem to be brought on particularly by greasy. It was worst in the morning. I was convinced it might be bile salts diarrhea type stuff, but never bothered to have it tested. Since sleeving I have had a couple of those moments, but if anything I struggle more with the opposite. It is early days, yet, so maybe this will change.
  9. All those are great things to have! I am 4 days postoperative and the one thing I had to go get today was Vagasil cream (I know TMI) but the IV antibiotic given at the hospital and the antibiotic 5 days post op wrecked havoc on my system! Good luck with everyone's up coming surgeries!!
  10. I'm on day 5 pre-op. This may be TMI, but maybe useful. Since I've been getting so much protein I have become constipated. It's been over 3 days since I've had a BM. I took a laxative this morning and hope it works! I certainly would not recommend a laxative unless you are constipated. Just a thought. Good luck to you!

    Hard to eat foods

I've had an experience where I had ate a bit too much one day, I got a terrible HA and decided to take a tylenol #4. But I ate 2 bites of a Quest bar. Within 10 minutes I felt my stomach spasm and a bit nauseous so I thought I'd go to the bathroom and try to throw up because I was so nauseous. Well i had to sit down on the toilet because I started feeling really dizzy. I ended up on the floor pasted out. Started throwing up and had diarrhea at the same time. I kept sliming. All the saliva just kept coming up and it was a horrid feeling. Plus the IBS happening at the same time. Needless to say, I don't take Tylenol #4 anymore due to the spasming of my stomach. Sorry for TMI.........Sliming really sucks.

    LAP BAND & PCOS

That is so awesome! I'm hoping that with this surgery it will help me to level out my hormones. Prob tmi but I recently started producing a substance that looks like breast milk. This stuff is just to weird. So at least I won't feel too much like a cow lol
  13. So do to constipation (tmi) my nurse practitioner told me to stop my protein shakes for two days . I was on 3 4oz high protein meals plus two protein shakes per day .... I axed one shake and added an extra 4 oz meal like a bean soup ..... Is this bad am I over eating ??? I figured it would be ok .
  14. This may be TMI for some.....but after my TT my abdomen looks great. But my ass looks like 2 sleepy shar-peis.

    Stuck and Frustrated. ..

A few things I've learned is how our bodies hold on to Water before a significant weight drop. The body is holding on for endear life when we don't eat enough calories. Drink lots and lots of water. This may be TMI, but I lost weight after I took a BM. I eat a lot of Protein and I am no longer regular. Every couple of days my body lets go. Hang in there and measure yourself. Even the most fit people use measurements and not weight due to muscle weighing more than fat. You may be gaining muscle too. :-).
  16. staceyvapeach

Things I will NOT miss about being fat.

This is tmi, but being intimate with my husband and scared to be on top, I always thought I was hurting him
  17. Ok, so how are you logging sex in mfp? I mean if you go at it for an hour are you putting undrr aerobics? Lol (embarrassed)
  18. Miss Pearlie has done an outstanding job in such a short amount of time. I've just had the most romantic weekend and I'm going on pure adrenaline and butterflies today since I only slept for 2 hours last night. Anyway...I can wear the prettiest clothes and it's fun coming up with new combinations to wear them, so for the first time in a very long time I treated myself to a shopping spree on Saturday morning. I came back with clothes that I think I love more than any I've ever had and I can't wait to wear them - something I haven't felt since planning for the first day of school during senior high. And - a guy that I've known for 4 years is looking like he's going to shape up to be a great companion for me. He lives in a neighboring state, but has family (who really like me and have urged him to move back just for me for at least 3 of those years) that he visits often in Houston; he recently accepted a new job and can visit every other weekend now. Call it a hunch, but I can see him moving back to Houston within the next year - I can't see things getting anything but better from here. He is a country gentleman, he's romantic, he loves animals, he's great with kids, has high morals and ethics and he's a good person...a benefit of knowing him for so long before getting to this point. He was attracted and attractive to me before I lost weight, so the doubt about "would he want me if I was the same weight as before" isn't something I have to be concerned about. Another bonus. It's funny...he looks a lot like an actor I had a crush on and his personality matches a character that the actor played in one of my favorite movies (Allen Payne, Jason's Lyric). What's more is that I love the way people look at us, we catch strangers staring and smiling at us and that is so different because before the weight loss, I didn't think we "matched" like he was too attractive to be with me - I know, I know, self esteem, yada yada yada...but now, I don't feel that way and in his own way he "shows me off" when we go out. I never thought I'd be arm candy. LOL Ok...all of this might have been TMI, but I haven't been in love with anyone in more than 14 years - this is an amazing development and I want to share it with the world.
  19. None of those. Just pain. Now I think the back pain was gas because (tmi) I just went to the bathroom and it's gone but thanks guys

    Ulcers?

I know I havent been posting that much lately but I have been feeling some kind of something for a few weeks now but it seems in the past week since I have been dealing with a Sinus infection and ear infection It is worst. I have taken NSAIDS as my gyobyn said it was ok, and today I got a shot of steriods with a prescription of Prednisone to start in the morning. I have taken Advil this past year, and just this week been taking a nasal decongestant and Mucinex for cold and flu. Ok so now to what I have been feeling. I get a pain in my pouch at least once a week, I mean bad pain that I usually go all day with. Eating and drinking does not make it better, but then I go to bed wake up and its gone. Now the past week, and definately today, I am getting a burning pain every time I eat or drink, and when I drink, It feels like my pouch is filling up like a balloon and is going to pop. I have been getting a tiny bit nauseous starting today when eating or drinking, and real burpy and my stomach acid in my stomach is like non stop almost. I have also noticed a change in my bowel movements. Sorry TMI!! but i was going regular regular sometimes 2-3 times a day, but the past week or so I have noticed not so much and each time they are getting harder and darker and darker. In which I had noticed I have been having trouble losing weight since June. I havent lost one single pound i have actually gained. I weighed 180 June 1st and today I weigh 185-187. I am one year post op gastric bypass 10.29.12 and had gallbladder removal 12.29.12, and a complete hysterectomy 05.02.13. Any ideas would be nice. Rhonda
  21. WARNING TMI Haven't been able to eat anything for 3 days without "dumping" what seems like gallons!! Going to try only Gatorade and toast today. Trying hard to stay hydrated.
  22. Sorry guys. TMI. But here goes. I am 8 weeks post op and have lost almost no weight. I lost about 5lbs right at first... Then nothing. I eat right... Lean meats and legumes mostly... A little oatmeal when i feel carb starved. I also have had severe constipation. I cant go without copious amounts of stool softners and mirolax and i have to resort to magnesium citrate fairly regularly. When i do go, its a very small amount and seems like it is just scootching around a big blockage. Im making a doc appt this week as im afraid im going to create a laxative dependency. In the meant time.... Could this lack of bm evacuation be causing me to not loose. I know the stool itself weighs alot when impacted, but i am wondering if impaction will actually keep your malabsorption from working propperly? Thanks for your thoughts on this
  23. Hi everyone! I survived! the first night was pretty horrible. in my drugged stupor, i confused the morphine pump with the nurse call button and kept pumping more drugs into my system which made me more nauseous. i threw up 3 times, but got it sorted out finally. i passed my leak test the next morning and they brought what seemed like a feast on that lunch tray. although, i did not want a bite of anything to eat. had a rough day yesterday (day 3) but made it through and today, day 4, already seems like a better day. am enjoying some decaf coffee because its the only thing that doesnt taste sweet beyond measure. am getting some sugar free gatoraid today-plan to drink it to excess to make up for slacking on the water (due to the sweet/soapy taste everything has-even plain water). am looking forward to moving to full liquids tomorrow. already planning my pudding fest! oh--if you have never heard this line before--BELIEVE IT---"never trust a fart". sorry if TMI but seriously, half of my walking is from running back and forth to the bathroom not knowing if I just have gas or you know what!!!!! I wish all of you the best in your journeys!! Let's keep up and keep each other informed and supported. going to go get a hot shower now! have a wonderful Sunday-attend church if you are able. May God's glory be found in all of our stories.

Just got hit up about hormones...

Unless it came in regards to my wife, hormones were the farthest thing from my mind. I'm only what, four days out and I spent all day crying like my 4 or 6 yr old daughters. I'm 38 and don't cry ever in front of my girls. My girls came home today from in-laws and my daughter gets me crying b/c she drew a book for me. After telling my wife today that this was the biggest mistake of my life, and crying on HER shoulder for once, she mentioned that the things I'm saying were the things she said during post-pardum (sp?) she had after our first. Prolly TMI for guys but I know I'm not the only guy that has the WTF moment during the first week.
  25. I have to agree with what most people are saying, which is that you should stop blaming outside circumstances that could be changed and instead look inward, being very blunt and realistic with yourself. Alcohol should not be consumed by people who have had a sleeve for ideally 6 months to one year after surgery. There is a special digestive enzyme in your stomach that processes alcohol. Since 85% of your stomach has been removed, there is very little of that enzyme (if any) to process alcohol. You could actually end up with alcohol poisoning and be in the hospital getting your stomach pumped. If cereal is a "trigger" food (a food that you can't seem to stop eating once you start) then don't buy it. There are a ton of things that I just can't buy because I know I can't control myself and I will eat all of it! Grocery stores sell pre-cooked chickens, usually for $5. If you want something quick and easy, you could get a chicken and eat off of that for a few days. Also, Protein shakes with milk will give you protein and what your body needs to feel full. I tried Isopure Water for the first time today. It smells kinda weird but tastes OK... and dang, it filled me up. I'm actually burping! (TMI) Support groups work when you work the program. Do you think it would be acceptable for an alcoholic to attend an AA meeting if they just kept drinking and drinking, week after week, year after year? Just going will not help someone until they actually hit rock bottom and make the decision to stop. The point is, it is horribly difficult... horribly horribly difficult to stop eating... (I am literally fighting it every minute of the day) but it is something you have to fight just like any other addict. Your stomach is not likely stretched all the way out, but you could be doing damage to your insides. Your hair is falling out because you are not consuming nutrients. The majority of people who get a VGS will have hair fall out - this is because your body is working to keep the more important parts of your body working (like internal organs and muscles) and ignores things like hair, nails, and skin. I've noticed in a lot of your posts you mention things you can't do, such as not being able to cook. I can't cook either, and that was a big fear of mine. So, what am I going to do? I'm going to sign up for cooking classes. In the meantime, I look up stuff on youtube that looks basic enough for someone who can burn water! My nutritionist gave me smoothie recipes that use frozen fruit and yogurt. The frozen fruit doesn't go bad for ages (cuz it's frozen) and the yogurt isn't anything fancy. Then I just add Protein powder and put it in a blender. It literally takes 5 minutes and you can't screw it up. To conclude, it's easy for anyone to tell you what to do; however, you sound very depressed on top of everything else, so anything people tell you to do will seem unrealistic. I have been through therapy myself and was on antidepressants from the time I was 15 up until last year when I finally got good therapy (I'm 33 now). So, I do understand depression... everyone is just like, "Well... don't be sad. Think positive." Gee.... why didn't I think of that? I'm cured! haha. The point I'm trying to make is, PLEASE reach out for help... either to your primary doctor to work with you on getting the correct type of medication for you, or to a licensed therapist that can help you through this. If you can work through some of these issues in a non-judgmental environment, you will feel more positive about your outlook in life, then things kind of click into place slowly but surely.
