I am loving all of your NSV's! Keep em coming! The other day I was out riding my motorcycle and my engagement ring kept sliding around my finger from the vibration of the bike. It has never done that before. Also, my best friend was over here yesterday. She is heavier than me but has been losing weight on her own and is now in the size I was at when I was at my heaviest. I went through my closet and gave her some pretty dresses that she can either fit in now or will be able to fit in soon. She was thrilled that she got some nice new clothes and I was thrilled to get rid of them! Good riddance! LOL

Becca that is so sweet and awesome! I can't think of a better anniversary present than smaller clothes!!!!! I also have an NSV to share! I can now fit into a size 20 jeans!!!! My 22's are starting to get too baggy so I put on the 20's and I could zip them up. They were a little tight at first, but after wearing them around the house for a bit they got to feeling just right! I can't wait to be able to wear the 18's I was wearing a couple of years ago during one of my prior weight loss attempts. I have a bunch of clothes in my closet that I haven't been able to fit in for a while and I getting more and more clothes that aren't fitting me now because they are too big! This is such a wonderful thing!!!!!

Ready, that is my favorite kind of NSV, when people notice! Sometimes we can be kind of hard on ourselves and don't really see the improvements. So when people point it out, it feels so good! Beach, WOW! What a great NSV!! It's so nice to get flirts from some cuties... :huh2: Keep up the good work everyone!

Thank you Tskelli. You helped me to focus on some NSVs instead of the 2 pounds I gained. Pretty sure it's water since I made really salty carnitas and drank a ton last night. Anyway, I too have been heartburn free since my surgery. Really nice to live without that. And I can no longer use my stomach to steer while I open a straw or whatever. It just won't reach the steering wheel no matter how hard I push it out. Yay!

Excellent NSV´s. Maybe no one has had this problem before but...I've not been able to pop the trunk from the inside. But arm wouldn't reach, but lo and behold! I can now!

My DH and I are celebrating our 9 yr wedding anniversary tomorrow. (that's not the NSV - but I'd call it a victory anyway!) We planned a little weekend trip away just the 2 of us for this upcoming weekend. Tonight when I came home from work, there were 3 new outfits laying on our bed. (note - my husband has NEVER bought clothes for me) He wanted me to have pretty new clothes for our weekend that didn't droop and sag. (everyone say, Awwwww....) I saw that all the clothes were a 1X, so I was like, "oh sweetie, you are so precious, but I don't think I'll fit in them yet." He wanted me to try. GUESS WHAT?!! They fit beautifully. And they were cute too! It has been 5 years since I fit in a 1X. Yay!!!

CONGRATS, to all who have had some great NSV's so far!! For those still waiting for one, it will come soon no doubt! And for anyone not having to shop in the Big Gals Stores, that is so great! I can't wait. I had a huge one over the weekend. Clothes shopping. I needed new clothes because I hadn't really done any extensive clothes shopping in say, oh, maybe 8-10 years. Embarrassing to say... I went through my closet and pulled out anything too big, and when I say "too big", I mean like size 3-4X tops. I've already long ago wasted my size 28's (snug). I started losing weight a few years ago, but maybe a size a year. That's why I chose to get the band so I can rid myself of the over-eating and hopefully reach my goal by this time next year. Anyway, I did keep most or all of my shirts over those years. They were so super huge on me now and I was looking frumpy and with outdated clothes from years and years ago. Needless to say, out they went. I was left with maybe 5 shirts! I had to go shopping. The good part to all this is, I fit very comfortably in a size 1X shirt, and some were even a bit big. I made sure all my shirts fitted nicely though. I came away with the GREAT sales deals too. I bought 30 shirts, 10 pants and 6 new pair of shoes. My feet have definitely thinned out. I can wear shoes I know my big feet would not have looked so cute in before surgery. My best part was though, that I can squee-ee-eeze into a size 18 now. I did buy some and I even picked up a few 16's. I don't think I paid more than $20 for any item. Except of course my shoes, and one pair of jeans. I bought some Apple Bottoms from Macy's Woman. I also bought a formal gown from Nordstrom Rack for only $47. It is so beautiful and good quality. It had no flaws that I could tell. It is a size 14 and I tried it on. I can get it on, I just can zip it up - but soon. I have it on my bedroom door for display, for incentive. It's working!!!! Keep it up everyone - let us know about all those great things besides the scale going down!

    Such an awesome NSV!

    What a fabulous NSV!! Congratulations!
  11. I took the kids to their school today for 'Meet the teacher" since school starts up again next week. We popped in to say hi to one of the boy's teachers from last year who went on maternity leave in January so I hadn't seen her since I had surgery. Well she looked at me initially with a weird look and then realized who I was. She didn't even recognize me at first!! And I worked in her classroom two mornings a week for the first semester of school so it wasn't like she didn't know me well in the first place. It was such a good feeling, kept me on a super high all afternoon. It also didn't hurt to hear from many people how good I looked since I hadn't seen alot of them since May. I LOVE my band!!!

    Nsv - So Excited!

Awesome NSV. We love to hear these so keep posting! Congrats. Reading about you made me cry! Go girl go!
  13. My NSV today: putting on hook & eye closure (not elastic!) pants that I could only dream of closing 2-3 days out from surgery due to my gas-filled belly!!
  14. Hiya Janine, congrats on your excellent weight loss to date! You are doing a great job and so far so good. Try not to compare yourself with others as it is a complete head blow. I used to do it all the time and it drove me crazy! You have rec'd some good advise already and I can only echo that. I am a REAL slow loser and I tick all the boxes 95% of the time (the remaining 5% I am just being human!) I am 10mths out now and since christmas I have lost just 14lb but I am still losing and as along as it is slow but sure I will be happy; over the last mth or so it has really got me down, but I have shifted my mindset and my focus is to remain positive and keep doing what I am doing. I just have to have confidence in my self and my sleeve. Patience needs to be my new friend...lol I exercise a lot now... I started exercising at 8weeks post op because I used to love the feeling and I wanted to get that part back into my life. I have achieved that now! I vary my exercise from walking to boxing and different things inbetween. Although I have a fair amount of weight left to go, I can feel the muscle underneath the fat now and that is a great NSV!! I am starting to feel strong again, if that makes sense. It sounds to me that you are doing everything right with your food intake; I agree with the water though... try to drink as much as you can; aim for about 64oz and anything more is a bonus! As far as exercise goes, do what you LIKE and what is comfortable with your body...once you get a taste for it and you start to see the benefits - especially in the way your clothes fit - you can up it and change it to suit your needs. Good luck and let us know how you get on... =]

FREAKIN BAND!!! Three unfills and still problems!

Oh, here's a really cool NSV in the midst of all this though....gotta find the bright side.:clap2: I got a pair of True Religion Jeans today in a size................4!!! Ok, and they actually fit good! I think it's just this brand 'cuz I am either a 6 or 8 in other brands.:rolleyes I did come home and try on a pair of levis I got about two weeks ago. Luckily I didn't take the tags off 'cuz I have to return them they were waaaayyy too loose. It's weird but last time I lost weight it took another good 10lbs before I was in this size but maybe I have more muscle this time. The other good news is I don't think I am going to need a tummy tuck. While I have a bit of loose skin it isn't sagging or anything so not enough to worry about.

    just had a thought..

kmed21 never did a scrapbood but....... you can do anything your "big" heart desires the skys the limit you could keep track of your approval letter ( that you posted on line earlier ) pictures of yourself through the months aka before and after you could print off good suggestions/posts from the board on food, carb et al that you see from the VSG board important dates - like your 1 month, 3 month , 6 month et al surgiversary you might write a post on the board signifying any of your many future successes then print and put in the scrapbook whatever your pretty self wants after all, its your life maybe also start a blog recording all your experiences good or bad your successes (NSV's) good luck kathy
  21. I'm glad your stall is over!! 60lbs is a great ... and a lot of NSV for you also!! Which is also great!

    Attention February 2013 Sleeve Buddies!

woohoo!! Finally a game i can play... On this round of NSV 1) I can see the scale when i look down, no one needs to read it for me. Too bad its only to see that its not going down. 2 i can fit some of my old clothes and they look good with out spanks 3- I know longer look 6 months pregnant. 4 Someone not in my home (and not being paid by me) noticed my weight (in my case inches) loss. On the cons side, i am losing my boobs, i am wearing a smaller bra size, watch out victorias secret, here i come. Do they make bras where one boob is consideravbly bigger than the other, LOL

    NSV

Well I finally found out that after wearing a size 52 in men's jeans , I tried to fit in a size 38 , well I have a little more ways to go but I now know that I fit in a size 40_42 & that's in a men's Levi jeans so I would consider that a nsv I guess I went down about 10 sizes in 2 year the size 38s just didn't want to fit over my hips just yet .
