Love this NSV! I think watching my husband is part of the turn on. It is a great view!
  6. Today went to cardiologist who hasn't seen me since the VSG surgery in May 2015. After her mouth dropped open at my weight loss, she said you are the picture of health because your blood pressure is normal 120/88, your pulse is ridiculous at 53 bpm, your EKG is normal and she thinks I also look fabulous! ????no meds necessary- see me in a year for a check up. Now how does it get any better than that? She also added that because my blood pressure was very high and uncontrolled at the last visit with me back in April ( before surgery)she honestly thought I was headed for a stroke or major heart attack. She was the one who suggested the surgery and I gave her a big hug today for saving my life????I'm celebrating with a swim tonight.

@@dhrguru, knock off the false modesty. There are three things at play here: (1) We're meant to have an unobstructed view of all that is below our breasts. (2) We're meant to see the heads of the playmates. It's part of the turn-on. (3a) To err is human; not to behave in a risqué fashion is an unfortunate error, -or, alternately- (3b) If you think it's risqué, you're living too sheltered a life. Cut loose. Yeah, okay, I know you meant the talking about it, not the doing, but I wasn't going to pass up an opportunity. Important NSV. absolument! Laurie

It's absolutely qualified for NSV. And I have also experienced this phenomenon. And also? I love Grey's Anatomy and thought of the show immediately when you said "Ladie's Town". LOL

    @@dhrguru i say NSV QUALIFIED~!
  16. So I debated posting about this.. but I was in such awe over this, and I think only my fellow female WLS peeps can appreciate this. (And i'm grown, married, blah, blah, blah...). Hubby and I were having some special time. Off he went to "lady town" (Grey's Anatomy fans should get that). And I realized... I can *see him*. My stomach was not blocking my view of him. For the slightest second it seemed awkward cause, I've just never had that full view before. It was a serious, momentary, mind trip! So...NSV qualified, or too risque?
  17. Two words: breast cancer. Well, sometimes you have to be careful what you wish for. Now that I am close to my self-imposed goal, I have been thinking a lot on how to pay for a tummy tuck and new breasts. The arms would be nice too, but I can live with them. Last month a had my yearly mammogram and, long story short, found out last week I have breast cancer. It's in the very early stages, so I am sure I will have many, many years to enjoy my new, thin self, but what the @#$&! It did come as a blow. I have genetic testing today for the BRCA 1 and 2 gene -- if I have that, then for sure I need a double mastectomy and my ovaries removed. But the standard treatment for what they know I have now is lumpectomy and radiation. But the thing is, my big weight loss will make a lumpectomy risky -- to get big enough margins, they would have to take a lot out and I have very little breast tissue left! Even doing the biopsies was a challenge -- the hollow core needles were bigger than me! Who knew, under the obesity a very petite women was hiding! So, I am meeting with a plastic surgeon on Monday. Looks like I may have a double mastectomy and reconstruction surgery. They said they would use my excess abdominal tissue. If I do that, I will not need radiation, which is a plus, but it is a much bigger surgery. I asked if this would be a true tummy tuck and they said yes. I'll get more info on Monday, but maybe this is the silver lining in a very dark cloud. I will also add a NSV here. Since all this started on Sept 29th, I have stuck to my healthy eating plan. I was very tempted to bury myself in a loaf of bread or, "gasp", bagels (my former nemesis), but I'm staying true to myself. I've waited all my life to enjoy this new body - I'm not going to backslide now. I have to be extra careful -- after the surgery, there will have to be a long hiatus from they gym. Ellen

    Bummed and angry

You can still go out and have fun. You can eat the same foods as you did before, just less frequently for certain ones and for all, in smaller portions. Any day you are on the green side of the grass is going to be a lot more fun than the other choice. You can't order any "super-size" meals on the dirt side. Look forward to all you will be able to do, the endless NSVs that will happen and your new happier, healthier and longer life you will have post bariatric surgery.

    NSV shout outs

My closet was full of black clothing at my larger size. Had to wear black today. I'm working at a funeral (NSV) I tuck in a shirt and was able to wear a belt.
  21. One positive I have done to help myself in a healthy way recently, I took the advice of my surgeon & I stopped weighing myself daily. I am trying to see my weight loss as NSV'S & not JUST A NUMBER ON THE SCALE like I always have. That has helped me in a big way, but of course then there is the visual part in the mirror I see daily. So being excited about my NSV have been HUGE for me.
  22. I so get it. It's those unexpected NSV's that help you see this is working.
  23. The Candidate

    OMG! NSV! NSV! ????????????????????????

The unexpected NSV's are still the best! Congrats!
  24. My hubby took me to breakfast this morning. We hardly eat out since surgery. I had on jeans ( MY FIRST NSV I HAD WEEKS AGO ) so I casually CROSS MY LEGS UNDER THE TABLE WITH JEANS ON!!!!!!!! AND I HAD ROOM BETWEEN THE TOP OF MY LEG & THE UNDERSIDE OF THE TABLE!!!!!!! I was in shock!!! I SAT there staring at my leg!! My husband asked me what was wrong, I told him I can't believe I just crossed my leg under the table comfortably with jeans on!! I have wanted to cry!!! I was so happy!!!!! I didn't want to leave the restaurant I was so excited I haven't done that in years!!!!!!!!
