I have been going to concerts since I was eleven when my dad took me to see the Rolling Stones. Since then I have been to close to a hundred big name shows and about three dozen live local shows. Every show I have ever been to I have bought a shirt and they were a huge part of my wardrobe; I took very good care of them, made them look cool with jeans, shorts, little skirts, tights, boots, flats, heels, scarves, cardigans, blazers, etc. Obviously the ones I bought when I was much younger (early teens) didn't fit for very long but then in the last three years, none of them fit well. It felt as if a piece of my identity grew too small for me and it made me sad. I sealed them up, boxed them up and stored them away. Last night as I was pulling out the last of my Halloween goodies, locating Thanksgiving/Christmas "stuff", I decided I'd bring the box of concert T's in to see if any of them would fit. All but a dozen or so looked good. Not just fit but look good. I was stoked! And I know that once they get too big, I'm going to make a quilt for my King Size bed out of them! Then I'll start collecting ones in a size that I can strut until the threads wear out.

@Dub I am with you on now having to dry the clothes in the dryer ... trying to shrink them up so I don't have to buy new ones so often ! LOVE that feeling! AMEN on the knee pain ... I'm bone on bone and should have replacements ... but because of lymphedema the surgeon said I had to loose weight first because he couldn't manipulate my knees enough to do the surgery ... BUT ... 90 lbs today! So I'm sure replacements aren't too far in my future Congrats on your NSV's !!!!!! Keep celebrating!

"Volcano ass" hahaha funny!! Don't look at the scale for a few weeks during this period of time. Keep doing what you are doing, up your protein a bit, an extra shake. Stalls happen and it's just your body being stubborn. Focus on, NSV's, take measurements, how you feel and how your clothes fit during this period. The scale will move, just be patient -
@@Dub - that's a good one (knee pain). I have noticed mine isn't as bad either For us girls - - how about hooking the bra to the closest set of eyes (tighter)! I am rather chesty and the (WLS & NSV) has helped with shoulder pain.

Well......I'm early into this but some of the NSV's are starting. *Having to use the clothes drier for all my clothes. *Going to a new set of holes on my belt every few days. *Knee pain improving greatly.

CONGRATS!!! crossing the legs is a great NSV! I hadn't been able to comfortably cross my legs in years and a few weeks after surgery I was sitting at home talking to my wife and she just stopped talking and stared at me. I asked her what happened and she pointed at my legs. I had casually crossed them while we spoke without noticing. It was wonderful!!! A similar one is bending over to pick something up without any problem. These type of NSVs are really powerful and make you feel like you are taking your life back. Keep on enjoying them!

Let's hear it for NSVs! That's non-scale victories for the new folks. Pay attention to these - they will get you through those weeks when the scale isn't budging and you swear if you see one more chicken breast you're going to lose it! So my NSV this week was the ability to comfortably cross my legs and sit without feeling like my legs were going to go to sleep. I did it without even thinking about it and then, mid-meeting I thought, "Holy crap! I crossed my legs! I feel great!" Don't ask me what happened in that part of the meeting. I was too busy celebrating. What about you all? Any NSVs to report? CJ

I've had this dress for a year and I can finally fit it. This was my first time participating in my children's harvest carnival. I've always just volunteered but never dressed up. My girls were so excited I was a bunny lol. A bow tie, tail, and ears.

I love hearing everyone's NSVs. I think so many times people get so caught up on the scale they miss the other accomplishments. Congrats to you! -

Girl, you got the best NSVs lol (referring to your other post). You are having a great time. I am so happy they provided awesome customer service. I can't imagine shopping at VS and that it might be a bit intimidating to me. -
Last night I decided to go to Victoria's Secret. I've never been able to shop there, and was intimidated, feeling like they'd laugh me out of the store. Total opposite experience. I truly felt catered to. I was whisked off to a fitting room, where they measured me, and brought me samples to try on/ recommended things based on my body type. I found two styles I loved and bought them. (I was too nervous to ask about matching panties, lol.) I was so appreciative of the attention, information and professionalism. They are too pricey to make a habit, but definitely worth a splurge. Btw, I think I'm one of the few *not* losing my boobs... Still holding steady @ DD's.

NSV - underwear

That is a very significant NSV! Congrats! -
After losing over 150 pounds from my highest weight, I finally broke down and bought two new bras and underwear. I was planning to buy the next two sizes down of underwear all summer but kept putting it off. Since bra sizes are harder to predict I just ignored the decision. I finally ordered the next three lower sizes of underwear so I will be prepared. It feels so good to wear underwear that fits!

Boy, sorry to hear this. I had a very different outcome from my WLS. At nearly 70 years old, I look decades younger than I did before being sleeved. My pain (from arthritis) is practically nil these days. I haven't had an Aleve or any other NSAID in 17 months. I walk for nearly 4 miles each day for exercise, plus the walking I do at home and at work. My physical rejuvenation and ability to move are some of my best WLS NSVs. I lost 95 pounds, am maintaining at 140 pounds easily (am 5'5") and definitely do not look "skeletor." I am a standard size 8 (and vanity sizes 6 and even 4) and look hawt for my age. My pre-WLS, agoraphobic self was definitely depressed. My 14-months post-op 140-pound cute self is definitely not depressed. Obviously, everyone's mileage varies considerably. I endorse others' advice that you seek some good counseling and medical care for the things that are plaguing you these days. You don't have to put up with these kinds of outcomes. -
@@Elode Ok a few NSV's for you Elode!! 1. I bought Skinny Jeans AND boots AND they look good!! I couldn't believe it. I wore skinny jeans!!! I always loved the look but could never pull it off! I wear those darn jeans every day!! 2. I flew on an airplane in comfort. I fly a lot for work and hate it because of the look the person next to me gives me when they have to sit next to me. So on Monday, I got to the airport in my skinny jeans, lol, and didn't get that look. I actually tightened the seatbelt on myself instead of making it bigger. I was in disbelief! 3. - not an NSV actually a complaint. Sitting for 4 hours on a plane hurt my butt! There isn't any padding there anymore and it actually hurt to sit. UGH, need butt inplants for long plane rides, lol.
