There is a person here I think her name is Cazzy she lost over 200 lbs with lap band there are others too.its a tool and if u use it it should work.I think sleeve is just the newest craze and being promoted heavily.but just research and PRAY about it !! Wether u get the sleeve or not will forever be lulu Lapband to me LoL !! Good luck !

I just had my first fill.I didn't think I needed it but I was more curious about how it worked.my dr did say that there was a small amount in the band already from surgery.I think my stomach shrank during the 3 wks of liquid also.I'm now losing about 3 lbs a week .I know it's some will power but I do feel full quickly which I think is the small amount in the band.goodluck on reaching ur goals!!

Yes journal.u may see a lot of people talking about My Fitness Pal.it's a website and phone app.u can journal ur food intake and it gives u the nutrition value.u can track ur weight and also add friends.A lot of us are there.if u want j can add me my name is the same as here Bigenuff.I found for me that writing my food down usually makes me think twice about what I am eating.Also remember to always eat protein first,then veggies then carb .:-)

I'm 8 days late. Banded 4/6/2012 no possibility of pregnancy.I was just about to post this to see if others had this issue.I assume that going from 3-4000 cal to 8-1000 cal has something to do with it.

I think u recognize what happened.but don't beat yourself up .tomorrow is a new day start fresh..just know u have to be very concious particularly for the next couple of days.because u may crave carbs after those margaritas and chips.be diligent about getting ur protein in .you will be fine !! Hi Patty I'm new to this site.I joined in 2010 but didn't use it until a couple of months ago.banded 4/6/2012.I never saw rants thread until just now.Reading others posts on here I'm understanding that this is the " anything goes" place.with that said I must say personally I was turned of by your post.I felt like it was inappropriate .May be I need to learn more about how this works but I didn't like it. I think that you have every right to say what u want and not trying to stop u.But just for me I would love to hear more about God giving us strength and power to get healthy,or how God is with is when we are in a bad place and binging, or how faith and prayer have been scientifically proven to help heal .I guess I've heard the fire and brimstone message enough in my life.Hell is real I agree but innmy opinion every body has been told about their sins but not enough people know about God's love or his power to give u power to get out of ur situation.......I guess that's my rant !!God bless you !! :-)

I will keep up with you.whatever u decide.WLS is a very difficult decision and choosing which one is right for u is even harder.I really like that lapbanders can say why they chose Lapband without being overly negative about other surgeries.I've talked to sleevers and been to the support site they are really mean and talk crap about lap band.and throw out a lot of misinformation to bash the band and defend their decisionto get sleeved.here is a pretty non biased chart that I hope is helpful.if u can't see it go to trueresults.com.they have the pro and con for both surgeries.they perform both. I know it's tough especially our mindset.I'm newly banded 4/6/ but undretand.I say there are 2things that are importantant for me 1.measure,everything goes in a 4oz bowl 2. Protein first.that should put u in the "think Atkins" mode.usually I don't have room for much else after I eat my 3-4 oz of protein if u do then veggies next then carbs.I use my fitness pal to track what I eat my name is the same Bigenuff .if u decide to use it please request me as a friend (anyone else on this thread can also if u want)

LuLu u have come this far even a YouTube video(my daughter suggested I do one but I was too embarrassed) that tells me that you are determined.my Bmi was 54 and they told me I had to lose 25 lbs.before they would operate.but in a one on one conversation with my dr.he said I just need to follow his liquid diet for 2 weeks,don't worry about the number of pounds.his goal was to shrink my liver before surgery.so I did the diet religiously ,at the end of two weeks I had list 14 lbs not the 25 they still operated.dr said my liver was half the size from the ultrasound a month earlier.my prayers are wit you.You got this.the hardest part was making the decision to change ur life.:-)
