bigenuff replied to Ashleigh Childress's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Congratulations in ur non scale victory (NSV) !! I know it's hard but the numbers are obviously changing if ur fitting smaller clothes.maybe try measuring your arms thighs and hips and waist line watch those numbers for a while cuz they are going down and I think you should celebrate that !! -

Does Everyone Get Stuck On The Same Foods?
bigenuff replied to lovex5's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I can eat everything so far. have to be extra careful with chicken and pork if it's dry.other than that I can eat everything.but I've only had one fill so that can be it.I'm losing about 1 LB per week so as long as I keep losing I won't get a fill and hopefully keep being able to eat everything.:-) -
All meat is protein.my favorite easily digestible is Talapia (fish) and eggs. Thee other posted other things that are high innprotein like ,beans,Greek yogurt.but to follow the band rules for me that's meat first (fish ,beef, chicken,

Is The My Fitness Pal Calorie Count For Exercuse Too High ?!
bigenuff replied to bigenuff's topic in Fitness & Exercise
@bigenuff - 1600 cals for moving furniture... definitely off... I DO know that you do expend a lot of calories that way... Yes I think I'll do what another poster said and add it at 75% -

Gaining Weight On My Preop Diet!!?? Help
bigenuff replied to banditalovely's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Many people (myself included) didn't eat 3-5 meals before the preop.if u were a "one meal and snack on junk all day"person and now ur eating all these scheduled meals, ur body just may be adjusting and holding on cuz it's not used to it.I'd suggest giving it a few more days until ur body realizes that this is the new way of eating .im sure u will start to drop lbs. -
Congratulations !! Welcome you will find a lot of support here and u will see the same question asked 50 different ways and people eager to give the answers! Goodluck !!

Is The My Fitness Pal Calorie Count For Exercuse Too High ?!
bigenuff replied to bigenuff's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Ohhh that makes sense -
My best friend is a kaiser patient.I don't know a lot but she is going through 12 weeks of classes .She had to push her PCP to refer her cuz they didn't want to do it.I know in the classes they will try to steer to toward the sleeve of bypass. They say the other ones are better but I think it's financial.Kaiser performs the sleeve and bypass but contracts out the Lapband which costs them more money.Goodluck in your journey .

I've heard for every 30 lbs lost adds an inch to the penis.

I think people do that no matter what the situation .but are they saying it positive or negative. Cuz if u say " she use to be fat but wow she looks great " is differen from " yea she use to be fat and that band is gonna fail and she gone gain it all back!" OR " her husband use to beat her but she finally found the strength to leave" is differen than "her husband use to beat her so I'm sure the next guy will too" it's human nature to identify people from where u knew them it's just about how.

I think people that get the VErtical sleeve go through a boot camp on how to bash banders.I have gotten into a couple of tiffs with people who have gotten the sleeve or are leaning towards it ( usually Kaiser patients) And are really hating the band.any way long story short....I looked at the band complications forum and the sleeve complications.and the sleeve complications are way more drastic the that stand out on the first few posts are PICC lines, major revision surgery with long hospital stays after keaks, feeling like ur dying and an actual death.on the band complication page I saw a lot of flipped ports band slippage and erosion.at least in the first few pages I didn't see PICC lines or death.I'd much rather have a flipped port than death ! So grateful for the band !!! ( disclaimer: even with the complications I would chose sleeve before bypass)
