Hey Weazer, Im 5" 11". I think I missed my shot at being a model so a healthy weight would satisty me. I have been walking a lot. Knee gets operated on 10/19 (laproscopic. SB/NBD)so am trying to keep the rest of the muscles in good shap so I have a quick recovery. I enjoy the weight room once I get there but just cant seem to make the commitment.

Hey Weezer, Men have no secrets :-) I started out at 325. I have lost 30 so far. My ideal weight would be 180 but I would be very satisfied just to be out of the obese range at 215. Having a tough time getting the scale to move lately so just signed up on fitday.com. Looks like a great site to track your calories and activities. I have been active but I guess I am getting in more calories then I think.

Hey Weazer, Be careful there. We are not ALL sisters. Tom

Hey Roxie: That fitday.com site looks pretty cool. I signed up. Yeah, I would say weight loss is more difficult then it was when we were younger. Not much we can do about that so no sense worrying about it. Getting old sure beats the alternative. Keep up the good work.

Hi Roxie1951. I was banded on 5/8 also. I am down 30 pounds. First 7 weeks hardly lost, next 7 did great and been plateaued (is that a word?) up till a few weeks ago. I have 10cc in a 10cc band. I was able to break thru by digging out all my pre surgery research and reviewing. The 2 things that get me loosing again is exercise and water control. What I mean by control is NOT drinking for an hour after I eat. If I dring while I eat I can eat a horse. If I play by the rules the band is effective. Get on a 30 minute a day walk plan, dont drink with meals, and you will be fine. I do about 2000 calories a day. My surgon tells me I should not be hungry for 4 hours after a meal. Usually that is correct and when I do get hungry it is head hunger. If you sit down with a pen and paper and figure out how to space your meals 4 hours apart with only 3 miles and no snacks you have an odd schedule. 8AM, Noon, and 4PM. Look out after 8PM. I try to do stretch my 4 hours out a bit without going into to much hunger. If I have to have something at night I have a 120 calorie protien shake. Helps keep the protien up and hunger away. Although there are peaks and valleys we are both loosing about 1.4 pounds per week. I think thats fine. Will be happy with a 70 pound loss over a year. Time flies. Good Luck.

For VG 10 cc Bandsters ONLY
4RE4ME replied to BeacheeGirl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I am up to 10cc in a 10cc band. Dr says you can actually put more then 10cc in them. Had no restriction at 9cc. Had another cc added yesterday. Hope it does the trick. -
I was banded 5/8/07. I just started experiencing lightheadedness (is that word?) over the last few days. Did some research and found it can be caused by low protine as well as low blood pressure. Considering we are both diagnosed with HBP I doubt it is related to low. Count your grams of protine. The protine helps retain your hair also.

I have 9cc's in a 10cc band. Definently feel restriction but can eat more the cup of food my Dr had hoped for. I cannot overeat though like I used to. A binge may last 3 minutes where before it lasted 3 hours. I think it is the help I need...

Hey Marc: I was about $12,000 self pay in Philadelphia but my insurance company seemed to be OK with picking up tab for most of the pre-testing. PB means productive burping. Its a nice way of saying you ate too much and its going to come back up. Not like an explosive vomit but more like what happens if you chug a beer too fast. (those were the days). If you eat slow, chew well and don't overeat you will not experience it but as we are all human you cant help but experiment. As far as overnight, with your sleep apnea you can be assured you WILL be an overnighter. Good Luck. Get er done!!

Well I an going to up it to 45 minutes at least 2o days this month. I am off to Ireland in a few weeks so should be plenty of walking opportunities. Hopefully most of them are not back and forth to the pubs. There is a website President's Challenge that you can track your Physical activity on. I am hoping to reach 20,000 points be August 31. I am now at 15103.

Got 24 out of 31 days done. Got a little slack at the end. Going to bump up to at least 45 minutes a day to qualify in August. Thanks for the push.

I did it!!! Hit day 20 on the 24th. Hope to hit 25 out of 31. Worth the work.. Keeps me happy.

I had operation on Tues and was back on the job (deskwork) Thursday.

I use the HMR shakes. I LOVE the chocolate. Great stuff and they come in 1 serving packets so you can keep them at work or bring them with you.

Better hope your guy is not on the thread. Isn't it bad luck 4 him 2CU before the wedding in the dress?

Hi All: Got my second fill 5 days ago. NOW I know what PBing and slime is. YUCK. Thinking I should have sruck with DR advice to do 2 days liquid and 2 days mushies but after first fill I was back on solids in 2 days. I guess the closer you get to "the spot" the better you need to behave. Planning on keeping with liquids for the next few days and see if things settle down. I am scheduled for another fill in 9 days but will cancel if I dont loosen up.

Tight 12 days after fill - Chance it will go down?
4RE4ME replied to TerriDoodle's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had my second fill 5 days ago. Added 2cc for a total of 7. Dr asked me to make another appt in 2 weeks but I may cancel as time nears. Never knew what PBing and slime was but I sure do now. Going back to liquid/soft until things settle down. -
Manatee: You are no longer hungry and need to eat in order to live. Sounds like you hit the sweet spot. I don't see a problem. Eat 3 meals a day and thank the Lord that the lap band was invented during your lifetime...

Hey All: Great weekend. I have been on the July Challenge and it has really been the kick start I need. I only missed one day out of 8 so far so well on target. Weight is finally moving.

Hey All: Great weekend. I have been on the July Challenge and it has really been the kick start I need. I only missed one day out of 8 so far so well on target. Weight is finally moving. I go for second fill on Tuesday. It will be 2 1/2 weeks since first fill. Although it seems I can still eat almost as much as before, (had a few outings where I really loaded up) I do not get hungry as fast. Probably lost about 10 pounds during that time so not sure if Dr. will be too aggressive with fill. Other then being able to eat a lot I have no complaints. Hope all is well with everyone.

Shoot for short term goals. Something you can reach in 3-5 weeks. I find it keeps you focused and reminds you that giving into temptation will be felt now, not later.

Marijuana Use After Surgery
4RE4ME replied to KBates's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I find the curse with drinking is my inability to control my appitite. EWI (Eating while intoxocated). Cant imaging you would do much better smoking the bones. I would try a different vice... -
