Hey Chris, How did you know to adjust your pressure down to 7. I have been hesitant to adjust mine which I have been using for about a year but I feel I am getting way to much air.

I was banded in May 2007. Last fill was 12 weeks ago. I have 9cc in a 10cc band. About a week ago I started experiencing the same problem with the inability to eat anything most of the day. Even water is hard to get in. Not sure what to think although I do like the lack of calories. Going to contact Dr on Monday if it does not stop as this cant be good.

Heard a great quote from Huckabee, the presidential canidate. He apparently lost 100+ pounds over the last few years. When asked how he finds time to work out he said "I don't find the time, I make the time." If you wait for the time to come to you it aint gonna happen.

It's too bad they did not highlight the good points. They stated up to 30% have these transfer addiction problems. The medical community is not quite so willing to conceed 30% but do agree the problem is there. Lets say the 30% is correct. How about the other sucessful 70%. Wouldn't it be nice if there was a TV show that told the full truth instead of promoting their needed agenda to aquire ratings?

Just a heads up. Oprah is doing a show today 12/7 regarding WLS and addiction swapping. I believe it is a rerun.

MDix30, I would verify that. How can you neasure a solid with a liquid measurement? A cup measures volume so with a strech you may be able to use that on something like ground meat or tunafish but chicken??? I would check the source. Tom

Hey Jenny, I went 3 months without loosing an ounce. A full filll of 10cc's in a 10cc band PLUS exercising a minimum of 5 days a week is what it took to get the scale moving. Sorry you did not see results after going thru all you did but that is all history now. Stay on it. Keep getting fills until they find the spot, exercise NOW as you will have to make that a permenent lifestyle change anyway and make smart food choices. Belive it or not its a blessing that we are in control of our results. Someone told me if you are going to loose weight you are going to be hungry sometimes. My first reaction was DUH.. but you know what.. You got to understand it will still be a challenge with or without the band. Up 2U. I would advise fighting back. You will win.

Hey Denise, A 10 point drop in BMI in less then a year is great. We never loose fast enough but you were smart enough to catch it before it got out of hand. You are doing fine. Keep up the effort. It is the only thing that works.

Liquid Tylenol is THE BOMB. Great stuff. It is NOT childrens Tylenol. I had my surgury 6 months ago and it was all I needed. Had knee surgery 2 weeks ago and its all I used again. I found it in Genardies Supermarkets only.

Fox Sent U a PM re costs. Tom

Hi Fox, Although I'm sure they are capable of the Fluro fills I never had it done. It took 6 fills to get me right. 10cc's in a 10cc band. Are you getting banded in Mexico? I was able to have it done cheaper at Abington then going to Mexico. Plus sure was nicer being in my bed with the remote in my hand vs. riding home in a jet next day. Be sure you check out both ways. Tom

Hey Fox, I get my PHills near PHilly. Abington Hospital has a WL center that fills every Tuesday. Tom

For VG 10 cc Bandsters ONLY
4RE4ME replied to BeacheeGirl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hey Syrah, Low fat, low carb, no alcohol but yet all good in moderation. It can drive you nuts. (which aren't bad either in moderation). If meat is not your thing how about fish? The way they are packing tuna lately allows you to stick it in you pocket and eat it anywhere. Seems like the only thing anyone can agree on is eat your protein. -

Well I finally am filled up to 10cc in my 10cc band after almost 6 months of being banded. I was really starting to worry. Believe it or not I am just now finally understanding what restriction is. Iven at 9,5 not much but that extra .5 was what I needed. I guess my Dr was right, You got to take it up slow until you hit your spot. Scale finally starting to move again. -
I have a Piper Archer II. I always try to put the small passenger in the front when W&B permits.

i wondering if this only works for the first month then...it's just counting calories
4RE4ME replied to wintersunshine's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey Wintersunshine, I was banded on May 8th. Lost about 25 pounds over first 10 weeks. Only lost about 7 more in the last 10 weeks. Nobodys fault but my own but that being said my normal MO would have been a loss of 12 pounds and a gain of 15 without the band. I feel I could use more restriction BUT being able to maintain my loss rather then gain is a huge part of long term success. Good Luck. -
I find no restriction whatsoever when it comes to any liquids including beer. My MO is to only drink ZERO calorie drinks but I do enjoy a drink or 3. A large glass of DIET Cranberry with a shot of vodka keeps me entertained at a cost of only 125 cal per drink. If you can plug in a bottle of water between drinks you can hang all night without getting loaded and sacraficing little calories.

Hey Manatee: Hard to believe. You should have no problem getting in and out of those cars now. We seem to have the same interest in cars. When I found out I could not get a seat belt around me in a F355 Berlinetta I knew it was time to do something..
