They’re actually pretty tasty. Not as spicy. But so filling. They usually don’t have them made so it takes like 10-15 min but I don’t mind cuz then they’re fresh! -
What to put in my hospital bag?
SIPS in Seattle replied to Cantwaitbetty's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was outpatient, a pillow for the drive home and a bottle or two of water especially if you get the scopolamine patch. That thing gives you cotton mouth like you wouldn’t believe! -
Woohoo! Here’s to new beginnings!

Yes, don’t beat yourself up. Just get back on track. I tend to eat out mostly because I don’t want to cook. In those cases I just try to make better decisions. Like I’ll get the blackened chicken strips at Popeyes vs the breaded. Although last night I happily had tempura shrimp and veggies. Today is a new day though. -

Post-op pooping
SIPS in Seattle replied to Rose400491's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love my squatty potty! I’m on a lot of iron and each time I take an iron pill I also take a colace. In the beginning I needed the glycerin suppositories too. But now, just the colace with iron and my squatty potty and I’m good to go! -
Good luck! [emoji256]

I wouldn’t want the copper IUD either, already having heavy bleeding issues. I didn’t have a problem with Mirena the first time, other than the fact that it expelled completely.

Band to sleeve revision in 2 surgeries. Is this normal? Anyone else experience this?
SIPS in Seattle replied to J_Mkay's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I went band (2010 or was it 2011, I have crap memory) to SIPS DS on 8/8/17 (this date I remember!) in one outpatient surgery. I think it all depends on your surgeon. I asked mine if we were going to have to do it in two surgeries and prior to even seeing what’s going on inside my surgeon was pretty certain he could do it in one. For that I’m thankful, since I now know I’m a slow healer and my skin doesn’t like the sutures, glue or bandages that were used. -
Can I ask what made you miserable about the IUD?

Charcoal pills help with the gas! In the beginning months I used them daily til it got better.

What? Sexting?? Is this really what there is to look forward to?

One thing I’ve started to do when a guy sends me his junk... is to send one back... and be like “oh I thought we were comparing” -
I’m doing well, I feel I’m a bit on the slow loser side but at least it’s coming off. And I guess to be expected since I am a revision. Best thing I can tell you is to walk as soon as you can. And as much as you can. Don’t worry about anything in the beginning except walking and water. They gave me these little one ounce cups and I would line up 5 at a time. With each lap of the living room I’d take a shot. And repeat. It was the only way I could get liquids in. Good luck! Let us know how it goes and walk walk walk!

I hate getting unsolicited pictures. It’s all guys wanna do, send you a pic. No thanks. This pic is totally how I feel. -
I had the IUD but the damn thing up and ran away. Having a hysteroscopy done on dec 28 to find out why I’m having crazy heavy bleeds and doc is going to place another IUD while I’m knocked out. Hopefully this one stays in place.

At almost 4 months I’m seeing a lot of hair loss. I have long hair but not thick hair. It’s freaking me out a bit. Kinda wish I had short hair so it’s not so noticeable all over the place... but not really lol long hair forever for me.

Starving in Evening
SIPS in Seattle replied to jcb123's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I do too, I generally eat my last meal pretty early (seriously like old lady blue plate special early) out of habit because I take care of an elderly parent and she likes to eat early. So by 7 I’m hungry! I try to ignore it. My doc says to try to eat a small meal or snack before going to bed but I really don’t like eating late. They also told me it could be bile reflux and to try sucking on a lemon. I haven’t tried yet, I’m doing pretty good on just ignoring it. -
My sense of smell has always been heightened, however it did seem to get worse after surgery. I do feel that it has gotten better however there are still some smells that I cannot handle (i.e. boiled meat/bones for stock) also I cannot stand the smell and taste of reheated chicken. Good luck, I hope it eases up for you.
