Anyone have an issue with biting your lip since losing weight? I keep frigging biting my lip hard enough to draw blood. It is driving me crazy! Am I just being an idiot that can’t chew properly or does this have to do with weight loss?

Ouch!!!
SIPS in Seattle replied to SIPS in Seattle's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I’m not sure I’d call it lip chewing... it’s more of an involuntary biting of my lip. I’ve drawn blood. Today I was chewing on a carrot stick when it first happened. -
Ouch!!!

Ya that’s been happening. But even after it heals and is normal.. I friggen bite it all over again. It’s a never ending cycle. [emoji24] -

Eating Too Much Fat--How Much Is Too Much?
SIPS in Seattle replied to FluffyChix's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
When grease/fat goes in, grease/fat comes right back out... that’s how I know it was too much fat. -
Itchy swollen incisions
SIPS in Seattle replied to Gnat's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Maybe just check in with your doc just in case. I’m sensitive to most things that were used on me and even my mosquito bites swell get red hot and itch like mad. It’s always better to be safe, good luck I hope it’s nothing and just the standard itchy healing. 🤞🏼 -
Woohoo! Congrats!! [emoji322][emoji323]

Feedback on having Duodenal Switch Surgery?
SIPS in Seattle replied to pinkey2018's topic in Duodenal Switch Surgery Forum
I was outpatient so I didn’t need any of that. However if you have the scopolamine patch it gives you crazy cotton mouth so have water for the ride home. -
Itchy swollen incisions
SIPS in Seattle replied to Gnat's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes mine were super itchy, but I have very sensitive skin. I also had problems with my incisions staying closed. If they are hot then a call to the doc would probably be best. Is there any oozing? -
NSV - my first pair of boots that aren’t wide calf!

Nervous about outpatient VSG!
SIPS in Seattle replied to Lotte22's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It all depends on your doctor. I was outpatient for my lapband. Then outpatient for my band to SIPS DS revision. Good luck today! -
I always de-fizz my emergen-c by mixing it with a small amount of boiling hot water then I pour that over ice. I hate the fizzy, it reminds me of alka seltzer which is so gross to me.

Today I had my 4 month post surgery checkup. I am no longer in the obese category! Per my doc’s PA I have lost 62% of my excess weight. She said that their goal for all patients is to make it under a bmi of 30 and I am now 28.73. Woohoo for just being overweight!! Can’t wait to see what month 5 brings along with the new year. Let’s do this!! [emoji851][emoji1392][emoji1322]♀️[emoji322][emoji323]

I'm freezing lol
SIPS in Seattle replied to Sonyawon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I usually have a hoodie on in the house while working and my electric blankie has been on 19 all week. It’s been a bit chilly here in Seattle this past week. I also have fingerless gloves and a blankie at my desk! -
Lapband Complication-Needs Removed
SIPS in Seattle replied to kath17's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I’m a band to SIPS DS revision (8/8/17) I did not have Barrett’s but I was getting terrible reflux with my band. I was also getting stuck on water! I’m so glad to have my torture band removed. It is so nice eating solid food without struggle. I had also gained all my weight back plus some. Since my revision though, I’ve passed my lowest band weight. And definitely couldn’t be happier. Good luck, I hope your next journey goes smoothly! -
Has anyone suffered painful excess gas and bloating?
SIPS in Seattle replied to Naenae80's topic in Mini Gastric Bypass Surgery Forum
Yes so gassy! And it happens to me if I’m too lenient on the carbs. Have you tried charcoal pills? Charcoal absorbs gas, they work. I use them. -
Need to lose 20lbs before surgery
SIPS in Seattle replied to Lisalisa5m's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Yes, my doc wanted me to lose 10% of my body weight prior to surgery which was approximately 24lbs. I didn’t make it, I lost 16 but he was happy with that. He had me on the sandwich diet which is such a cruel name. Basically I was alternating a week of low carb and two weeks of liquid diet. It was hell and I was a cheater. You can do it! -

I’m four months out... and part Asian. Rice is life. I don’t eat much but I haven’t had any problems with it.

Me too! Me toooooo!!! -
I’m four months out and haven’t found any foods that I can’t tolerate. (Knock on wood) I just had a bunch of kimchi cucumbers that were super spicy and had no issues. I love spicy.

Hair loss help!!!!!
SIPS in Seattle replied to nativenm's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I’m at 4 months and losing tons of hair too. I don’t have thick hair but I do have very long hair that’s super slick and straight. Pre-surgery I could wrap a ponytail 4 Times, I think I’m going to have a heart attack if I end up having to do 5! I hope it starts growing back soon!
