Day 6 post op and my entire tummy is just crazy itchy. No rash (yet) just incredibly itchy. Anyone else have the itchies and now did you stop the madness?? Band to SIPS/SA-DI/LOOP DS 8.8.17 HT: 5'6 HW: 242 SW: 226 CW: 217 GW: TBD

Down a total of 15 pounds so far!
SIPS in Seattle replied to torriqurll's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I do daily... I like it because it's a smart scale and I can see via the app how each day varies. Granted I have stuck my tongue out at it when it stopped moving one day lol but I got over it. Band to SIPS/SA-DI/LOOP DS 8.8.17 HT: 5'6ish HW: 242 SW: 226 CW: 209 GW: Healthy -
Revision
SIPS in Seattle replied to debbie1555's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
You can always consult with a different surgeon. My surgeon that banded me is not the same surgeon who revised me. The only reason I changed surgeons though was location. I sure as heck wouldn't use a surgeon that I didn't like! Band to SIPS/SA-DI/LOOP DS 8.8.17 HT: 5'6ish HW: 242 SW: 226 CW: 210 GW: Healthy -
How many people had their Bypass done robitically ?
SIPS in Seattle replied to Mhy12784's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My SIPS DS was done with robotic assistance. I had to sign all these consent forms to have it down with and/or without robotics depending on when we got in there. I didn't even think about whether or not it mattered at the time. Band to SIPS/SA-DI/LOOP DS 8.8.17 HT: 5'6ish HW: 242 SW: 226 CW: 210 GW: Healthy -

Funny detail still surprising me from surgery
SIPS in Seattle replied to SpindleCity's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My nurse asked "are you fuzzy?" My first thought was uh ya I'm always fuzzy I have a terrible memory.... then I realized what she was talking about as she was holding a razor. We had a good laugh. No shaving for me but it was hilarious. 🤣[emoji23] Band to SIPS/SA-DI/LOOP DS 8.8.17 HT: 5'6ish HW: 242 SW: 226 CW: 210 GW: Healthy -

SIPS in Seattle replied to Kim Benton's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I bought a weight gurus one from bed bath and beyond. I like it because it syncs to an app on my phone. Band to SIPS/SA-DI/LOOP DS 8.8.17 HT: 5'6 HW: 242 SW: 226 CW: 212 GW: TBD -
Vitamin and B12 patches
SIPS in Seattle replied to HDScarlett's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I do B12 injections once a week too. They're a prescription from my doc, not sure you can get it otc in injectable form Band to SIPS/SA-DI/LOOP DS 8.8.17 HT: 5'6 HW: 242 SW: 226 CW: 212 GW: TBD -
I get hunger pangs but not like presurgery. Sometimes it's just my tummy talking. Are you taking any acid reducers, doc has me on omeprazole 2x a day. Acid can cause rumblings that we mistake for hunger. Band to SIPS/SA-DI/LOOP DS 8.8.17 HT: 5'6 HW: 242 SW: 226 CW: 212 GW: TBD

Revision from band to sleeve
SIPS in Seattle replied to azgirl2's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I had revision band to SIPS DS in one surgery on 8/8/17 that was covered by my insurance. I have Aetna though not united healthcare. I had to do 3 mo supervised diet and 3 nut appts, a whole bunch of tests my doc required and approval only took a couple of days. Good luck to you! Surgeons who won't set a goal?
SIPS in Seattle replied to SpindleCity's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon didn't discuss goals with me either. Which I'm cool with. I'm trying to just view this as one day at a time. I have given myself a mini goal, just get under 200 then maybe I'll set another mini... like get under 190... I just don't want an ultimate do or die kind of goal. [emoji173]️ I'm still on the liquid phase. I can't wait to have purée food. So tired of liquid. This morning I'm down to 211. But I'm only 11 days out. Patience has never been in my vocabulary! I hope you're doing well on normal food! Band to SIPS/SA-DI/LOOP DS 8.8.17 HT: 5'6 HW: 242 SW: 226 CW: 212 GW: TBD

premier protein water, tropical punch - anyone tried?
SIPS in Seattle replied to Miss Topaz's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

premier protein water, tropical punch - anyone tried?
SIPS in Seattle replied to Miss Topaz's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I bought a case of protein water from Costco. For the life of me I can't remember the brand at the moment. But it's a pink grapefruit flavor that isn't too sweet. It's more of a clean flavor. My memory is awful but I think it was 15g of protein per bottle. Band to SIPS/SA-DI/LOOP DS 8.8.17 HT: 5'6 HW: 242 SW: 226 CW: 212 GW: TBD -

how much weight will I need to lose before WLS? BMI is 65
SIPS in Seattle replied to MNgirl1234's topic in Duodenal Switch Surgery Forum
My doc wanted me to lose 10% of my body weight prior to surgery. For me that was 24lbs. I didn't make it, I only lost 16. But my surgeon didn't give me a hard time about it. Good luck on your journey [emoji4] Band to SIPS/SA-DI/LOOP DS 8.8.17 HT: 5'6 HW: 242 SW: 226 CW: 212 GW: TBD -
How much weight did everyone loss within the first month???
SIPS in Seattle replied to southernbellair79's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 10 days out. 226 day of surgery and 212 this morning. Was 242 when I started this journey for my revision in March. I'm still in liquid phase though until week 5, then purée which understandably will slow the loss a bit. Band to SIPS/SA-DI/LOOP DS 8.8.17 HT: 5'6 HW: 242 SW: 226 CW: 212 GW: TBD -
Incisions are EXTREMELY itchy
SIPS in Seattle replied to erint93's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am suffering the all mighty itch too. Mine is from the bandages and steri strips. Stupid sensitive skin. Any kind of adhesive makes my skin freak out. I've been using coconut oil, vitamin e oil and tea tree oil. Still crazy itchy but it works better than hydrocortisone. Plus since I can't seem to get enough liquid in at 10 days out my skin is a bit dry. Which causes more itching! Band to SIPS/SA-DI/LOOP DS 8.8.17 HT: 5'6 HW: 242 SW: 226 CW: 217 GW: TBD -
Good luck! And like James said, walk walk walk! I'm 9 days out and still walking lol Band to SIPS/SA-DI/LOOP DS 8.8.17 HT: 5'6 HW: 242 SW: 226 CW: 217 GW: TBD

The under the bust itchies are usually yeast. That happens to me after surgeries too. I get two weeks of diflucan from my doc and rub the otc yeast cream twice a day. It super sucks having such sensitive skin. Band to SIPS/SA-DI/LOOP DS 8.8.17 HT: 5'6 HW: 242 SW: 226 CW: 217 GW: TBD
